Yeah, that's what I was asking you about, I pulled the whole outfit then used dye preview and realized dy wouldn't get it down how I want
The wings for example don't have just the tips of the feathers golden you have to turn a lot gold, and it misses out on the specularity.

Not super slow because I have a good processor (12700k), but slowe than I want it to. It does a shader compilation integrity check every launch for some reason.
so fans kick into high gear and it takes 30 seconds maybe?

I didn't notice patch change anything, but first launch after a major patch will always be really slow because it's not just doing an integrity check, but a full shader compilation burn. You'll also get it after doing graphic driver updates.

You can manually delete it, but updating drivers also deletes is, which is why first run after update takes longer.

shader compilation is very taxing, and my cooling is pretty bad
done at 59:30, almost exactly 3 min to do shader compile from scratch.
second launch, it about 35-40 seconds for the loading + integrity check. It doesn't say that it's doing the integrity check, but I know that's what it's doing because it did used to say before they patched it out. I'm not sure why they do it every launch, because most other UE5 games I play don't do those checks.

The second launch lets you start loading before the integrity check is completed. and runs the integrity check while it's loading. It would be like the game letting you press start game before it completed the long thing in the menu.

That sounds like it could be a realistic time for a 5900x, and might not be a problem. I think the "problem" exist on the developers end by forcing us to do this integrity check every launch.
The integrity check runs in the backgroud. during the "choose your server" part, you can start loading the game before it finish.
If you actually let it sit on the "choose your server" page for a minute, you should notice your fans get louder and eventually chill out, if you start loading AFTER your fans chill out, it will be very fast.

during 1.0/1.1, it wasn't hidden, and I think did force you to wait for the integrity check to complete before you got to the "choose your server" page.
But once they started doing it in the background/hiding it, it let you start loading into the game, before the integrity check completed, making that load take longer, as it's still completing the check
I'm sure I'm part of the reason it got hidden, because I complained about it in a survey that it shouldn't have to be done every launch. And then they're like "Well if you can't see it! It's not happpening! LALALA" and put their fingers in their ears.

Yeah, the loading time isn't the issue, the hidden shader cache verification is the issue, which runs in the backround even before you start game (on server selection screen), and if you start game before it's finished, it still takes it's time to finish before you actually start loading the gmae.
I know shaders need compiled for every major update and on driver updates, but I'm not tech savvy enough to know why the verification every launch is needed when plenty of other games that do a shader compilation on update DON'T do verification ever launch.
