i think they just arent that good early game and there needs to be a unit that can battery better

The roguelite mode would be equivalent to farming for a build in a dungeon in other games

Then you use that build to do end game

But you’ll prob spend 90% of your time in the roguelite mode to min max builds for each character

Basically u do a stage (have to use a pack of previous stage as cost to enter next stage) -> win and get a pack -> repeat until end essentially

if u lose then u lose the pack and gotta farm more to retry

ill try to give a tl:dr

1. when you press space all the dices roll this is ur speed roll essentially
2. each characters has light points (above the characters head little glowing dots) think of that as action points from CZN and each card has a cost
3. the arrows coming from enemy dice to u is who they are targetting with attack which you can clash with that person or intercept that attack if ur speed dice is higher than theirs
4. after assiging all cards to an enemy dice u press space and it plays out

More nuances but the very basic gist of it
