Yeah, it lets LingQi act first as well as tank a bit more dmg than Yuan. She’s UR 4 vs his SR 5 so she’ll be able to take more hits. Plus it’ll lead to only 1 enemy hitting 1 ally on your frontline.

When a character dies the parallel enemy will target the person next in line on the frontline so having a tankier person up front keeps your characters only taking dmg from 1-2 enemies for longer (unless the enemy has an ability that target multiple characters)
