Sure, but that's why I was originally interested in the game. My first FF7 game was Remake. Remake clearly wasn't a remake, so I played OG after that. Then.. clearly Zack was playing a big role in the upcoming games, so I want to get CC story, preferably without having to play CC.. Ever Crisis seemed like it'd be a good option for FF7 Story, but now I see it's not.

I don't enjoy old games nearly as much as I did when they were modern. Glad you do. I thought OG FF7 was pretty bad playing it for the first time in 2020. My first FF was FF5-6 in... 98? I don't remember exactly, then 9, and have played each since.

6 wasn't bad and I won't lie replaying the older ones besides like 9 and forward they didn't age well but with the remasters at least they give u the speed up button and other QoL so it makes it more bearable at times

I was too young to really enjoy 5 and 6. It was a collection on PS1, I probably listened to the soundtrack that came with it more than I played the games. But when I got 9 is when I really buckled down and started getting into the games. I love 9, but even 9 I still have a very hard time replaying. I just prefer to spend time playing modern games.

Only exception has been.. MGS. I've played the whole MGS series a few times. Also went back to play Star Ocean 1 and 2 recently. Anyone who says turn based was a tech limitation should really play those games.

9 definitely went into the fantasy style more which I liked making it one of my favorites but I can understand preferring modern games over the old ones. Alot of old games don't age well hence why they get slight touch ups in remasters or a full on remake
