Main takeaway i got on weapons is there's main hand, off hand, and 3 subs. Main and off hand are the c skills you want to use, with the weapon with better relevant stats in main hand. If you only need 1 c skill, then other weapon can br a stat stick. Then you grab 3 off hands with relevant r ability (patk, matk, heal, hp, def) and hopefully good relevant stats too.

Same for gear (if you have more than 1) and materia are like genshin/e7 artifacts
