Figured it out and I can explain a better strategy for this boss that works better then modernia

You need at least alice, privity and Dorothy

You use alice burst to do as much damage as possible to the core before the shield comes up

Then when the shield comes up you drop privity burst right when the first wave spawns in wiping them so they get no defense buff

With the wave gone and the shield down build your burst again as soon as the second wave comes in you manually control Dorothy's burst and target a second wave mob branding it

Focus fire the branded target which will screen wipe the second wave and since this is the 3rd burst round you can crack the whale core nullifying the attack buff the future waves that come after which allows you to just focus fire the boss
