I wonder how they will top Goat Sim 2
it was really funny
Goat sim 2 was a thing in first place?
that's the joke
Wait wot
thats amazing lmao
i cant wait to play that
Yeah there was never Goat Simulator 2, just a bunch of other DLCs.
lmao i love this
and the trailer was literally a dead island 2 parody
also i think the 3 in the name is a joke pointing at Payday 2
aw man not goatsim on epic and not steam tho
sadly reinstalling goatsim to finish my last 20 achievements i havent gotten around to in the last six years since ive played or whatever
hopefully its just one year exclusivity or whatever and not straight up not planning a steam release 🤧
Just cuz it does have as many weapons doesn’t mean it has a worse combat system
Favorite lesser-known indie games?
I need to fill the void in my soul by committing a capitalism
Unreal_Life
I know that these aren't actually that acurate but I'm sold: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/516763813790482464/985227503935320094/unknown.png?width=249&height=94
its short
write an essay after you finish okay
formatting requirements or can I just go nuts?
iconoclasts.
must be written in verse
jk but if youre up for it
best indie games ive played: celeste, hollow knight, terraria (especially modded), modded minecraft if you havent tried, factorio, and stardew valley. of those, i would especially recommend celeste and terraria if you havent played them. those arent exactly lesser known but there might be something on that list that you havent tried
thumper, black book, the missing: j.j. macfield and the island of memories, echo, submerged, smile for me, the path, fortune-499, the red strings club, samorost series, stray cat crossing, scanner sombre, pilgrims, the cat lady, paratopic, off peak
does larian count as an indie studio bc i havent rly played anything recently but divinity 2 and div2 needs more attention 😭
Again, I'm still slaty they are making Goat Simulator 3 instead of Sanctum 3 :/
I really love Sactum
I bought Black Book on a bundle. Is it that good?
OPUS: Echo of Starsong, Haven, Lost Ember, Sea of Solitude, Road 96, Crosscode, Inmost, Edge of Eternity, Still There, The Pathless, Evan's Remains, Forgotton Anne, Citizen Sleeper, Behind the Frame, Long Gone Days, Omnilink
...are those the same company?
i really enjoyed it! really nice story (not so great english vo, i played with russian vo instead) and interesting folklore. i focused less on deckbuilding and more on the story but luckily you can skip battles if you fail them a number of times and still get the same rewards, and it does some interesting thing
Is it easy or hard?
there are difficulty levels
i focused less on the gameplay so i cant really say how it looks when you build an actually good deck
it also has a rogue(lite? like?) dlc
how long did it take you to finish?
Ok, thanks Alma
i think like 40 hours and i did almost all of the side tasks and locations visited
i think sanctum is cool and i found coffee stain through sanctum 1 and 2 but goatsim is more my speed unfortuntely. orcs must die was a better first person tower defense style game, though i havent played the new one, i just played all of these like 2012-2013
and goatsim kinda gave coffee stain more notoriety than sanctum did, they had a survey last year about goatsim, which is why i assume they made a new game, but i havent heard anything abt sanctum basically since they dropped super sanctum td
somehow that doesnt surprise me lmao
i havent played either sanctum or omd games since the years i previously gave, i just recall liking omd more but 3 wasnt really on my radar either since its... been so long since i remembered and enjoyed these games
not indie but rhythm heaven fever is underrated, and can run on dolphin
coffee stain north, which is another team they acquired, is making goat sim 3. it is all one company but it seems the founding development team that made sanctum is working on satisfactory, which does not have any tower defense 😦 (but you can shoot some alien creatures, some mostly harmless). it is a fairly satisfying first person factory game in early access.
The more footage I see of Planet of Lana, the more I want to play it.

Slayin' demons since 1993
...I just realized that Doom will be 30 years old next year
i will be 30 next year
ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

Wew, quite a coincidence XD
30 was a much smaller deal than it seemed when I was 29
but god does every year just be like, "time keeps on slippin' slippin' slippin'"

SIXTEEN TIMES THE DETAIL
TOOOOOOOOOOOOODD
it's been actually whole 30 seconds of gameplay
and the game hasn't glitched tf out yet
what is this false marketing?
it's giving me some SERIOUS early no mans sky vibes
WOW this looks underwhelming as hell
actually - scratch that
this is giving me anthem vibes
which is even worse
Not a good sign
For the price of a real ship!
Minecraft was a good game but it sure did make every game feel like it needed a crafting system
And it's still trending to this day
Corporations are almost always like this
"Oh look, something popular! We should do that as well so that our product will sell well!"
starship customization satisfies my autism
This happened with battle royales, open worlds, MOBAs, etc
Cover systems, over-the-shoulder 3D
I have bad memory
no id software?
no machine games?
they've been a thing before the term FPS was a thing, yes
though it's funny to think now
you hear people saying that like this era of games lasted forever or something
even if actually it was like... 3-4 years tops
no
No clue
i mean
at least silksong is not... dead
scorn is not... dead
uuuuhhhhh
that's it, i guess
Oh hey, Scorn
bro scorn's literally got a release date how's that not dead
ive been longing for that game for so much
dude this game has been in the works for like 6 years or something
From what I've seen of it, I'm not surprised it is taking so long
yeah
Though it's either they want the game to be as good as possible, or it's another Duke Nukem Forever situation
i just want the art
but
Been lurking for the current showcase, but think while we wait for the next show decided to share a bit of my thoughts on some demos I played of shown games.
- Terra Nil - fun puzzle game about turning lands green with ecological constructions. The gameplay consists of using buildings which shape and change the land into different state, giving more resources to make more buildings. While I enjoyed my time with it I don't think I will buy it simply because I am not the best at such grand strategy of using one and only resource to victory.
- Orx - deck-building roguelite tower defense RTS. Very fun and engaging. While the first time around it can be confusing how it works, it's easy to pick up the flow. You have roads, castles and military. With roads and building made on roads you earn more money which you will need to use your cards. Making a sustainable income you then can place castles which are made out of many pieces and which only start work once you shape it. And military units protect and take damage for these castles. When time runs out a wave of orx comes out and that's where you will see if your carefully placed defense work and it's amazing. My game stuttered a bit at end mission but I think that will be patched up.
- Anger Foot - Quick energy inducing game. Love it. The style. The music. The design of the enemies. All gers pumped for the trash punk fun and humorous look. Kick and get more funky shoes. Great stuff.
Tactical Breach Wizards is a small-scale, turn-based tactics game where you play a team of wizards in modern-day tactical gear, breaching and clearing rooms full of armed hostiles by making clever use of interesting spells. It's still in early development, so everything about it might change!
When it's done
Nice
Just checking if pepole lost their minds here at Silksong
had this on my wishlist for years now lol
From the Gunpoint creator, so I'm interested
I haven't
Most of the hype seems to be passing by me
silksong not showing a release date kind of damped the hype a lot outside of the really dedicated folks
i might have broken smt3. that is all
And broken the Silksong askers
Nope, I'm still being patient because I understand the dev team at team cherry is tiny so qa takes freaking forever for a game the size of silksong
Microsoft did confirm it'll be out "in the next 12 months"
*assuming nothing goes wrong
I'm intrigued....I hope its closer to door kickers than xcom
has the new ps plus updated for you guys

very cool
also
Tactical Breach Wizards is such a dumb concept
but the game seems to have a little bit of Xcom and Frozen Synapse energy
New game from creators of This War of Mine and Frostpunk announced. I absolutely love the song choice here, it's an old Polish pop song, from the 80s or 90s I think? Perfectly adds to the weirdness of the situation :)

can anyone help me to find a good page for downloading ROMS for wii for the dolphin emulator, becuase sometimes the roms from one page may work but the others will not, and i have to hop from page to page to try and find some website that has a functional ROM, sometimes the roms doesn't work, sometimes the file of the ROM is not the correct format, etc.. Can anyone tell me of a page that has 100% functional ROMS and on files that the dolphin emulator can read. If someone reading this has some sort of morality of the whole emulator and ROM thing (because they think is not right to do it), it's okay just ignore me, but please i would love a helping hand

Has anyone here played elden ring
"Hype" is a detriment to the gaming industry as a whole
OMFG, Intelligent Qube is actually on the US Playstation Store
A Test of Intelligence
Those new PS Plus tiers may seem garbage, but the fact it finally kicked Sony into releasing this outside of PAL and Asian Territories is amazing. And you can buy it for $10 without fussing with the service
Nope and I never will!
Elden ring makes me so horribly angry everytime it pops on my feed lol, props to those who like it tho
yeah
its mostly very good
keyword mostly lol
i dont mean to be rude, but why does it make you angry?
I wish I could play elden ring, it looks pretty good
m&b is also fun anyway, especially with mods
No clue!
elden ring makes me annoyed but that's mainly because i eternally want to play soulsborne but my single option is dsr which just. isn't the best tbh
it's one of the best
I mean - hey
Actiblizz and rockstar make me irrationally angery too whenever they pop up
So I totally get it
I didn't ever get informed about what happened with actiblizz, and there's a very good reason for it, I just want to know absolutely nothing about polemics, especially those involving big corporations
After being disappointed by a number of games, disappointment not merited by their quality but by the projected image of its ballooned fanfare and praise ascribed to it by fanatics
I've become more pessimistic when playing a popular game
what do you gain from that?
Few games can live up to the hype they're given
I've been disappointed by games like Undertale and hollow knight
A small number have been as enjoyable as they led on if only slightly disappointing
maybe it'd be better to try and ignore the hype rather than be pessimistic? you're not going to enjoy a game if you go in thinking it's not going to be good or that you're not going to like it
My pessimism is limited to expectations
it's still pessimism
if you go in with the expectations of this is over hyped, this won't be enjoyed, etc, you won't enjoy it, it will feel over hyped
Disappointment is only a causation of expectations
then why have expectations? you're setting yourself up for failure
sounds like you're killing your own fun there
My mindset is the game won't be as good as you perceive it might
case in point
I don't think it hampers my enjoyment of games
except you've said it's hampered your enjoyment of multiple games
Expectations brought on by the hype did
the solution: don't set expectations based on hype..?
That's exactly what I'm doing
idk people told me hollow knight is the best game ever made and i played it and it was Very Good and the hype did nothing to affect my enjoyment lol
are there any games that r like hades for switch i could try that r not hollow knight
since hollow knight was ass
Dead cells
They're both action focused rogue-type games
yeah they're roguelikes and you hit things and that's about where the similarities end imo
Through deductive reasoning they were likely recommended hollow knight as a similar game to Hades and their only complaint in that regard is that the game is "a**"
So I think dead cells being more likened to Hades qualifies it for a recommendation if hollow knight received a pass
maaaaaan
dog bless newblood
yesterday sucked hard
i was all like
but then dave popped up and showed all the cool stuff and a new gloomwood trailer and i was like

look at this design too
nah seriously - step up your game... EVERYONE ELSE

TODD!?
So, is anyone here actually picking up the new PS Plus tiers? $100 a year for the PS4/PS5 stuff is $20 less than a year of Game Pass (unless you do the XBLive Gold hack)
And even with the retro games you're still looking at equal pricing with Game Pass at $120
Not really
I don’t want to play ransom to a big corporation for having a privilege of using basic online features I’ve had for free for 20 years on PC, thanks.
? I mean, that's a reason to not get the $60 PS Plus tier, sure, but I was looking to more discuss its value against Game Pass
I'd hazard to guess that a sizeable number of Game Pass subscribers don't even play the games online and just get it for the game catalog
Well then - this value depends on solely two things - convince and games selection.
And it’s still more convenient to just emulate something like Ace Combat 3 rather than get it though that subscription.
Since - you know - it’s not even on there.
Depends on their offerings
Right now I’m thinking about going for game pass because they have more variety
Also PC access
Iunno
Im I’m a good mood - I don’t want to burst your bubble there.
It’s just…
The older I get the less reasons I see to trust big corpo with my hard earned money and my personal data.
game pass works for pc so there's no contest for me
Yeah that too
Which seems to be getting more valuable than money itself by the day.
Usually I would just say something like “Sony can go taste the big one” and call it a day, but - you know
I’m in a good mood :)
I’m saving insults for blizzard and rockstar
Yeah, I'm definitely loaded with the 3 years of Game Pass. Maybe I'm just thinking outside of my wallet, but I was doing the math to see how worth it would be to just have both
Cause they can go taste a whole bag of them
Like, with PS5 games being seemingly less...games I want to keep forever than I'd like, if I get my fill of like 3-4 games in the year with it, then $100 for a year seems worth it
Not sure why Returnal's been keeping its value so well, but that game alone would already account for about half the sub cost on its own
Is dmc5 still on game pass?
And I guess a wider question
do games leave game pass after a certain amount of time?
or is it a case by case basis?
It's definitely case by case, but afaik DMC5 is still off game pass since like a year ago
I got my money's worth on my 3 years of game pass already through Tunic and a bunch of indie stuff
But for AAA gamers I can't say how worth it the sub is. If you can get 3 years for like $180 max with the xblive gold hack, then I'd say jump on it now if you have any interest while Microsoft keeps the loophole open
For PS Plus, not so sure
Oh boy, another Fest, gotta download some demos later
When will this roguelike epidemic end
Already done so. going to be a long while with those (I didn't count the 3 other demos I already played before fest lol)
selaco
High five
I scrolled past a lot of games and honestly while I appreciate Steam showcasing all sorts of demos no matter the devs new or not...I wish it wasn't one big list and instead sorted into categories lol.
Yeah it’s the kind of problem that steam curators were supposed to solve
It’s a feature that kinda went nowhere
Eh
Yeah could go somewhere, though for fests I wish steam put a bit more effort sorting the games
I just choose the most played demos and go down from there, let other curate for me
metal hellsinger demo was very fun
Better than BPM or worse?
never played bpm

Resident Evil finally getting some dlc
I can't believe they are adding aThird Person Mode for Ethan, it was fun how they kept his face hidden in-game
I'm wondering if they'll change the cutscenes at all or not
At the risk of spoiling anything, is Ethan's face some kind of spoiler or something?
I've never played a Resident Evil game so idc about spoilers honestly
Just saw everyone memeing about it
No he's just (I think) the first "first-person only" protagonist in Resident Evil
yeah for some reason they just refused to show his face
even when a cutscene isn't in first person it's just barely shrouded or something
Hm, interesting. Thought it would be some PT esque twist where it's like a famous guy or something
its too much like faceless protagonists in jp visual novels
Capcom isn't the type to withhold marketable features for artistic or publicity reasons
They might have also thought it might spoil the twist? Although I doubt that, it's not really something you can glean from seeing his face
It's going to be wild if you can't turn the camera to see it at all lol
Well, wild but in a fun way
It's funny how they try and hide Ethan's face at all cost for no reason, other than maybe so that the player imagines themselves as him, but he isn't a silent protagonist nor anything. He has some character.
He honestly has a pretty decent character
In that compared to other RE protagonists, he's super out of his depth and kinda sucks at the whole thing, and knows it
But continues forging forward anyway because the love of family is powerful
He is so stupid too in a way or dense, not sure what best describes his characteristic. Oh and his attempts at one-liners are so bad, it goes back to being good too.
He's just a Dude doing his Best
I love ethan winters, hes one of my fave resident evil protags
Mostly bc hes literally just some guy
Who would win, a European village full of horrible monsters, or one ||moldy|| boi (spoilers for Village)

played a few demos on steamfest and I recommend a few to try out for sure:
Selaco
Dome Keeper
Cult of the Lamb
i love how he goes from "oh my god what is happening" to just being exasperated and tired lmao
Resident Evil 8 spoilers. ||Get his hand cut off AGAIN, runs away to elevator. Sprinkles juice on the arm, puts hand back on all well is now. Only response "Man, screw this castle!"||
||Or the time he is not even phased by the fact he fell down many floors when Lady Dimitrescu pushed him into the floor.||
Ethan is so great
Ethan is a nice guy but who is incredibly as he simply refuses to ask himself questions about what's happening and he just... accepts it
not even an audible boing 😭
Gonna let some demos to download and come back later
The Zone reveals a whole new world! We can stick with the old one, fearing change… but tell me, do you want our descendants to remember us as cowards? Or those who dared to venture forward to a new, better humanity?
Despite the threats that veil the journey from the ordinary world we used to call “homе“ to the unknown. Would we dare to pursue ...
Ah yes....
nothing
SIGNALIS is the most promising demo of all I've played followed by the Kung Fu game
my favorite is in re7 when ||jack picks up some chainsaw scissors and says "groovy", and ethan's only response is "that is not groovy" in the most annoyed tone||
its certainly up there
its never going to be 'completed' i doubt its ever been developed at all
It's being developed, probably in some sort of hell somewhere
I think the cool kids call it development hell
I mean, there's no real reason for it to ever actually come out, right?
With how much money they pull in on a promise, I mean
they were selling jpgs before it was a crypto fad

Just finished playing a long session of Going Under. I like the game a lot for a combat roguelike, but its...quirky physics engine and slippery controls make me really appreciate how tight and smooth the controls for Hades is.
I want to believe in the xcom team but this game has been advertised for over a year now it feels like and there's still not a smidgen of what the gameplay is like
which is a little worrying
Idk, I feel like you just need to wait and see for every Marvel game rn
For every Spiderman PS4 there's like 3 bad Marvel games. Disney dngaf about keeping their properties quality in the videogame space
yeah exactly that's why I want them to hurry up and show it
cool venom's in the game now show me the tactical stuff please
release the game so you can make xcom 3
It looks kinda jank ngl
There's several gameplay videos up

It's got Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider, so I'm into it
i do like card games i'm just sick of every game trying to be slay the spire
theres SOOOO many of them in nextfest
i like the concept, i actually dont really care for slay the spire all that much, but now everyone is like wow time to make five dozen more roguelike card battlers! please can i have some like.... different card games
enough of the inaccurate "quirky earthbound inspired indie rpg about depression". its time for the quirky card deckbuilding roguelite
there was this one game that had a trailer that looked cool, like an 80s martial arts movie kinda thing
and then lo and behold its a roguelike deckbuilder
WHY
at this point i see smth tagged deckbuilder im immediately disinterested
there’s something I noticed is that a lot of deckbuilers, even the cards look exactly like slay the spire’s, even if the rest of the game is like entirely different. I don’t know enough about the genre to tell you why that is, maybe there’s a good reason
the reason is that slay the spire was very popular so maybe if our game is like slay the spire we can be popular too 😏
normally i don't like to bash games for being inspired by other games for obvious reasons but so many of these don't really do anything new
the worst offender is Griftlands by klei entertainment which was announced as a turn-based open world rpg and looked really cool and then became a roguelike deckbuilder
Wait, so there just happen to be 2 Marvel based card games in the works?
Because that Marvel Snap thing by the Hearthstone guy is right around the corner too
like cmon
admittedly the game i picked does not look that different from slay the spire lol
I mean, yeah, but also how are you going to spruce up card designs without messing with UX?
Card art has to go in the middle with flavour and rule test below
Mana cost has to be on the top left, otherwise you wouldn't be able to see mana values with the hand fanned like that
i have played a lot of digital card games and I will tell you it's a lot easier than you think to make a design that don't look that closely to slay the spire's
Yeah, you're probably right
The aesthetic is way too close for comfort
But in terms of layout, Slay the Spire cards aren't appreciably different than Hearthstone cards
speaking of hearthstone cards that example lifts the font lol
idk give me more mtg card games less slay the spire
if I want to play sts I'll play it
this is the only deckbuilder ive played lol so ill mention it again, cards look way different
Also, idk if I'm having a mini ocd thing, but Magic Cards having mana costs on the right side means you probably fan your cards the opposite direction to see them on the top right
inscryption gets a pass for being so different
And that's giving me anxiety for some reason
Oh my god now I'm trying to imagine fanning the cards in the way Slay the Spire does and it feels so weird
i should play inscryption one of these days
Inscryption looks sick. I don't really want to pay $20 for it
For people that have played Inscryption: Without spoiling anything, is Inscryption actually a legitimate card game? Or is it a story game that uses the card game as a gimmick to advance the story?
Idk if that's really a question that can be answered without spoiling things
Or if that question even makes sense
it's...both?
the card game is very good in its own right and actually has a separate mode that detaches it from most of the story
but it's definitely a heavy narrative element in the main game
That's good to know. I was under the impression it was a point and click adventure game that just happened to use the card game as a central gimmick
Knowing the card game is actually deep enough to have its own mode definitely helps me get more excited about it
it's definitely a unique game highly recommend
any cool demos from the next fest you all played? im going through all of the games there and wishlisting a bunch of stuff lol still deciding if i want to download demos or not
idk why i really like the new Kingdom Rush game
turn-based strategy
roguelikes.... and omori
and ori
oh right
theres still other stuff ill probably add but thats all i could think of
is Spelunky a roguelike?
yeah
it looks like a really fun game
it does indeed, thats why its on the list
also for anyone that hasnt played it yet i recommend playing chicory
i played wandersong which is from the same dev iirc, it was lovely
local 2D sidescroller addict is just glad silksong still exists
Wow Metal Hellsinger demo was REALLY fun
can't help but headbang tho
it's a me thing
The calibration needs to explain a bit more tho. It told you to click left mouse when you hear the sound, but there are multiple sounds they play. Can't tell which one they meant or they meant all of them.
It's tragic how open world video games have become somewhat a genre of its own with negative implications rather than its original intended function as a buttress to the narrative and or mechanical features of the game
Well, when something's successful, people are going to imitate it, and when money is a higher priority than to deliver a good product...that happens
I've only ever played one open world game that genuinely stimulates my interest to explore, experience and exist in it
That being shadow of the colossus
I've heard from a few people that the stalker game elicits the same sentiment
While there's certainly entertainment to be derived from games like assassin's creed which oversaturate their work with meaningless activities that bloat the game in an effort to elongate the experience, the same nuance and profundity is nowhere to be found
Which assassin creed games?
Because they've definitely changed direction in recent titles.
Iirc from odyssey on (not 100% sure though)
I'm not an expert on Ubisoft's games but Valhalla is an example at the very least
Valhalla from what I remember hearing got very mixed reviews
And not really representative of what earlier games in the franchise where like
Games like that usually start of as an amazing unique experience
Then they stagnate and make it two dozen times
Imo assasins creed at least early on did try to innovate it's gameplay in some regards, didn't really pay attention all that much after Black Flag though
There will always be people who enjoy those games, I just wish not every developer will just attempt to imitate the same formula and at least try some innovation ever so often
I wish that too, but unfortunately a lot of the time incredibly large publishers chase profits over making/publishing good games.
So the best place to look for the kind of innovation you're looking for is in the indie space (though it does happen there too to an extent sometimes)
The way companies like Activision, Ubisoft and EA are structured is more sustainable profitwise than trying to make something new and technically impressive
Especially when considering the ethics of crunch in video game development
Moreso the lack of ethics but that's an entirely seperate conversation
But as the technology tools and knowledge at our disposal continue to develop that will become less of an issue
Red dead redemption 2 took nearly 8 years to develop and an impressive amount of work dedication and pressure on the developers why risk spending hundreds of millions of dollars on something that takes 8 years before you reap any of your profits when you can add fifty lines of code and a few new user interface elements and sell FIFA at full price for the 23rd time
I'm well aware of the cost of game dev.
The product shouldn't have to "need" crunch in order for a product to release. It shouldn't need the physical and mental well being of those working of the product to suffer. Red Dead 2 would have been insanely succesful either way without the cruch
But it would have taken far longer to release
Okay, that isn't a bad thing
The health of the people working on the product should be put above the product
No matter how good something is it isn't worth it if the people who make it suffer in order for it to be released
That's a valid sentiment but they're still a business
i just got metal gear solid v the definitive experience.
somehow, ground zeroes is only around 3 GB???
how the hell.
They are still a buisness, and ultimately serve the shareholders.
But that doesn't change the fact that those who work there should be treated in such a manner that there health actively degrades by working at the company.
It's been seen time and time again at publishers/devs like rockstar that the games have been made with crunch and a not insignificant amount of the staff leave because of the crunch and strain (both mental and physical) it puts on them.
There is no excuse for crunch and there never has been.
Corparations like rockstar, ea, ubisoft etc make many 100's of millions in profits every year
And yet still treat their devs, qa staff like dirt
Yeah, ground zeroes was a prequal thing to metal gear V iirc
I'm not one typically concerned with ethics but people are resources and a business model like that isn't very sustainable
yeah ik and phantom pain is only 30 gbs and yeah
Hope you have a good time with it
thanks
worst thing is the download speed but oh well im just waiting for optic fiber for like 2 freaking weeks
It's likened to a technical demonstration hence the small size
It can also be completed in just over an hour and shouldn't take more than four at the longest
If you're a completionist then you might be able to wring out up to twenty hours in an effort to experience all the game has to offer
I love Phantom Pain, but God, it could have been so much, much more
Plus it has some... Questionable design choices
we aint ever getting a director's cut since kojima is team xbox now
Like showing us a list of all characters that are gonna appear before the start of each chapter for some dumb reason
Have you played any other game in the series?
i tried a bit of twin snakes but my makeshift joycon controller for PC sucks
Yes, the five "main" ones, Peace Walker, Rising and GZ
also yes I also played Rising
i'd love to play 4
but PS3 emulation of any kojima game is black magic
Which is your favourite and which would you say is the best
I played it in PS3, the combat is enjoyable but God the cutscenes need an editor
4 is my fav personally followed by 2 and 3
Guns of the patriots really needs a more accessible means of playing it
I think 4 combines the serviceable combat with good hand-crafted setppieces
T A C T I C A L E S P I O N A G E A C T I O N
Five has the best gameplay BY FAR, but the story is meh and being open world kinda hurts its grandeur
the music 😳
2 likely has the best story
But I would have to say three is the best
And also my personal favourite
Bosses are probably my favourite aspect of games that have them
The achievement of the best single boss fight in a game and the best overall bosses to my mind has to go to shadow of the colossus
If I had to rank my favourite boss fights then shadow of the colossus would take the top sixteen positions
Lmao
Does anyone here watch ahkneemeh ?
im kinda disappointed how Wolfenstein Youngblood essentially killed the franchise
The less perspective shooters the better
Is anyone here of the opinion that Zelda breath of the wild is the worst Zelda game
im not that into zelda but i liked botw for the exploration
You never saw it coming!
Persona 5 Royal finally takes your heart on Nintendo Switch October 21st! 💥
#P25th
3895
859
god damn.
Switch is getting it too lololol
i think they saw how pissed nintendo fans were
Any reason you posted a fake announcement?
I found out four minutes afterwards
No shame in that. Woulda got me too if I were a Persona guy
Even if we're going by the standard of "Nintendo" Zelda games, it seems like an uphill battle claiming BotW is the worst Zelda game when Skyward Sword exists.
No shot botw is the worst zelda game
That would be like claiming Ocarina of Time is the worst Zelda game because it hasn't aged well
It might be the most disconnected from zelda conventions but thats part of what makes it unique
Not the worst game in the series but the worst in the context of what Zelda offers in its traditional formula
I think there are weaker games somewhere in the backlog
sure, that I can understand
The dungeon crawling and puzzle solving have the least emphasis they’ve ever had
I mean, by that logic Zelda 2 exists.
but theres also only so much you can do if its fully open world
my money would be on Zelda 2 yeah
Is Zelda two generally disliked?
i have no opinions on it, ive just heard its generally on the weaker side
It's gotten a better reputation over the years, but it's certainly not a "Zelda formula" game
I mean, if you want to be pedantic about the whole thing, the original NES LoZ doesn't really follow the Zelda formula either
I suppose maybe limited to the criteria of the 3d games
That's fair. Idk, maybe it's just the "Zelda cycle" talking, but Skyward Sword is such an obvious misstep that it's hard to call anything else the "worst mainline 3d Zelda"
It's a game that's aged horribly despite being like the 2nd newest to the franchise
Wasn't it recently* released on the Nintendo switch
Yeah, and honestly that release just cemented how poorly it's aged
What then was their reasoning to do so if it isn't as beloved as the others
Weren’t there some 3D games on the DS?
They rereleased Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask on 3DS. Both of them were regarded as good ports imo
What would you say is the best 3d Zelda game and which is your favourite
i’ve got friends that are very partial to Wind Waker
Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass were both for the original DS. Not sure how they fit into the whole 2D vs 3D thing. They're played in a mostly top down style
But I'd still call them better aged than Skyward Sword honestly. I'd understand people who think otherwise though. I'd also expect them to think something like the original Link's Awakening to be one of the worst Zelda games too.
Honestly, as someone who was only partial to the Zelda formula in the first place, my favourite Zelda game is probably BotW. The best one is probably still LttP, or a tossup between Ocarina of Time and the Wind Waker if we're going by strictly 3D Zelda Games
The problem with Wind Waker is that it's unfinished enough that you'd need to be playing the HD Remake to call it the best one, and at that point it feels like cheating.
I think it's still fair, if the artist felt the need to touch up their work to make it better and still retains the identity of the piece while improving it then it should be fine
When did you first play a link to the past?
I should also point out that worst mainline Zelda game is still pretty good.
The worst 3D Zelda games are still A Tier
Similar to how a lot of people forget that dark souls 2 is still a great game
The GBA port shortly after it came out, so like 2002-2003
i love how classic wolfenstein the old blood feels
Hot take, I think most Zelda games occupy a B to B+ tier
I mean, Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Breath of the Wild, Ocarina of Time
What are some A+ games to you?
Skyward Sword can be played with buttons now so
Breath of the wild is regarded as one of the greatest games ever made by a lot of people
Nintendo has a way of papering over the cracks of their Zelda games and making them out to be untouchable, but idk, a lot of our favourite ones have weird asterisks around them
Naturally, but they’re all still great
It's more of a brand image they've succeed in creating
Yeah, maybe I'm being a bit too harsh on the franchise. I just see Skyward Sword getting literal 10s on release and shake my head
I'd say all the Gamecube Zelda games and Skyward sword are various levels of B tier, or maybe low A tier depending on who you ask
Wind Waker in B?
For its endgame and all its cut/missing content, I can't justify myself putting it higher than like B+ tier
HD Remake is probably A- tier
And I'm saying that as one of my favourite "Zelda formula" Zelda games
So majora's mask is B tier?
MM was N64
I'm saying as a Zelda formula game
Not Zelda formula games honestly, so I fully understand I might be biased about the whole thing.
If windwaker and ocarina of time are favourites and barely make it to A
Some of the FromSoftware stuff would probably qualify as A+ to me. Something like Bloodborne seems like the natural evolution of that old school Zelda style.
A soulslike is an evolution of Zelda?
Specifically the NES LoZ style
I haven't played it but it offers intellectually valuable material for discussion so it's one that piqued my interest
They inspired Miyazaki
To make dark souls
I don't think it's better than the Zelda Formula stuff, but I found Okami to be way more enjoyable.
My A+ games tend to be shorter experiences, or games that do a single idea very, very well. Portal and Team Fortress 2 come to mind
Okami is a brilliant game
Fumito Ueda's game design philosophy of design by subtraction creates focused experiences
That deliver masterfully on their chosen theme or idea
Ah, I see
Would a Metroidvania count as more of a Zelda Formula thing? I can think of a ton of Metroidvanias I like way more than Zelda stuff
They're really not so different mechanically
That's always been an interesting point of contention when it comes to that genre
I think OoT is actually a pretty middle of the road title on its own, but it gets to sneak into a higher rating because of what it brought to the table when it came out
daily reminder that this state of the art engine was used only 2 metal gear games, a cancelled silent hill game, 5 soccer games and a cash grab
You mean six cashgrabs
Well, V isn't a bad couple of games, but no Hayter no purchase 🤷♂️
It’s been like 6 years
I’m over it, and the whole series
Yeah I'd be shocked to see another Metal Gear at all
Let alone one that would actually be decent
It will stay forever a nasty ass stain on the last page of this series history
bruh V literally doesnt have a reason to have hayter in it
it literally stars big boss and a random medic
botw's the only one i've really gotten into
i tried to play windwaker and was mostly enjoying up until the part where you have to collect all the triforce pieces, almost immediately dropped it lol
botw's so good though can't wait for the new one
If you have a Wii U, the Wind Waker HD Remake drastically streamlines that Triforce quest and makes the endgame bearable.
It also has the best Ganon in the franchise imo
yeah i was emulating the remake
idk still ended up burning out on it
fair, it's a black stain on an otherwise top tier Zelda game
It's a really rough aspect even in the fixed version, yeah
Also, if you ever plan on playing Majora's Mask, don't play the remake it's hot trash
Been playing link's awakening on switch and have been enjoying that one a lot. I've been trying to get into botw but some qol things like how brittle weapons are and the stamina wheel are bringing down my enjoyment, I know some people like those mechanics but they're p frustrating to me and make the game feel like a chore
I played about half of twilight princess when I was younger, could not tell you how long it took to get that basket back from the monkey and herd the sheep in the prologue 💀💀
I think about the only thing I don't really care for in Twilight Princess is the art direction
And even then, it just feels a little too dark for me personally, like they swung a little too far in the other direction from Wind Waker
The actual stylization of it, like the Twili designs, are rad as hell though
i just finished MGSV's first legit mission, rescuing Miller
god it was so fun
i tried non lethal but i just gave up since i didn't have the balloons
I was like 9 or 10 when I was playing and bought it cause it was rated T and I wanted to be cool with my older sib's friends 💀💀
It's wild how egregious nintendo is with charging full price for games that are decades old
niiice
playing this now
definitely the best of all Snake
Just finished snake eater a week or so ago
Decided to try European extreme in subsistence
Doom eternal is a merciless assault on my vision and hearing
The music is noise
Noise
I've heard something similar so I assume it's the same genre
But there were lyrics
Of a screaming man
Based Mick
Tried Nine Sols demo, pretty fun. Although the enemy attacks can be hard to look at when they're grouped up together.
Just got off a session of Intelligent Qube after not having played it since I was a kid. I'm glad it's just as hard as I remember it even though I got farther than I ever did as a kid.
im more of a new order mick enjoyer
TMNT Shredder's Revenge is a certified banger
Oofa, I hope the Fire Emblem leaked design isn't real
what, you're not rocking with the pepsi can nahobino
Over/Under compared to Streets of Rage 4?
You really don't. Wait for it to be real before you mald over it
Pepsi Can Nahobino is pretty accurate
Text is in Chinese, though
I'm coping so hard that its fake
looks like someone mashed together rwby and xenoblade designs and not in a good way
Honestly like
It might be fine if it weren't for the hair and eye colors
Feels very "my first OC" on top of being really out there compared to other previous characters
so 👏
i've been playing some Sniper Elite 4 lately (great game btw - it's scratching that itch left by MGS3 and Chaos Theory really good
)
but, uh...
why didn't anyone tell me it's a horror game?
https://youtu.be/wrujlWY-cSE
this dude scared the pants off of me
haven't played SoR4 so i can't say
the game is short but sweet
i like it
i finished it within 3.3 hours on normal difficulty lol
how about instead of "friends, family and pizza" we just go "pizza, pizza and pizza"?

don't have frens, muh family is miles away
and i like pizza, pizza and pizza
anyways
more SE4 jank

this looks like a genshin character
it's horrendous
the probability of m&b bannerlord being completed tomorrow is way higher than this leak being true
another new ff7 related game yaaay
thats cool and neat
its not like theres other final fantasies or anything
dragon dogma 2 yay
Dragon's Dogma 2 and FF7R2 announced the same day. That's it, I'm going to drink tonight
i was actually referring to ever crisis, not remake part 2
Ever Crisis is the faithful mobile remake of 7 with gatchaboxes right
Whew boy the Jojo netcode is uh
Just as abysmal
This kind of netplay is unnacceptable @jojo_games @BandaiNamcoUS The same issues as the 2013 release and no rollback
that's not fair to genshin characters
also the funniest and most terrifying thing I've heard in regards to the "leak" is that it's so bad that everyone dismisses it as fake, meaning it must be real
oh yeah I translated the pics if anyone wants to know the words
Shud i buy Dragon dogma?
borbs
Ah, of course: crafting taking hours to finish

I Was Lost is an upcoming game that combines 2D mazes, sliding puzzles, and narrative to create a unique experience. In it, each level is made from a poem's verse unraveling as you progress through the game. Control not only your position on the board but also move walls to create new paths and escape from seemingly impossible situations. T...

The fire emblem warriors demo
MHR Sunbreak demo, messing around with the mechanics and such
atm not much but hades. ive been wanting to play osu sooo bad for the past few weeks but my desk is shaky and doesnt have enough space to fit anything on it so i cant rn
my streaming bpm goes from like 210 on my mechanical keyboard to like 160 on my laptop which is such an ungodly change that it means i cant play any of the maps i want to
playing signalis demo right now, it looks really cool but the menu reminds me exactly of echo's menu. i wonder if its a coincidence or intentional 🤔
TMNT Shredder's Revenge
Ah, yes
The TMNT: Shredvengence
random reminder that we literally lost a episode 51 chapter 3 for MGSV, a metal gear rising sequel and a game about the boss in ww2, all for pachinko machines
but if MGSV was truly finished then god damn did they cause a phantom pain for all of us
Getting offered a sponsorship for a product you actually approve of is gratifying
RAYS CON
Deez nutz
gotem?
With business practices teetering on fraud and the number of people they've involved in it, it looks like star citizen may never see the light of day
It would be a shame for it to go to waste
Not to say star citizen is particularly exceptional but with a budget that large and development cycle so long it'll be more of a miracle if your game had nothing of note to offer
Man, ANNO: Mutationem has one of the most bizarre shifts of genre I've seen in Media
It starts as a Cyberpunk thriller and changes suddenly out of nowhere in the third arc to ||a Parody of the SCP mythos including fighting a 682 expy||
Anyhow now Into my backlog again
Next game: Sine Mora EX
right now im being punished by kojima
i gotta scroll through a list of my staff at the mother base to quarantine them
ONE BY ONE
there's no sorting by dialect so yeah
Doesn't the last of us already have a remake
that's the remaster
TBH, TLoU 1 was already quite nice looking back when it came out dunno why it needs a remake
Now, Jak and Daxter, just sayin'
maybe they bringing it on pc?
I suppose a release on other platforms might be enough justification
Konami should sell the video game rights to a different company
I'm sure they could come to an agreement that allows them to use the intellectual property for slot machines and other gambling devices
They should only ever keep remaking Shadow of the Colossus and I will keep never finishing palying it.
Shadow of the Colossus is the only game that deserves to keep getting a remake even if they did so every week
When they manage to implement one of the most widely despised video game activities as the primary mechanic of one of the most influential video games ever made you know that director is a cut above
in order to stab a colossus you must open loot boxes?
Nah, to proceed to the next colossi you must open a loot box/boxes
What a way to ruin the franchise's spirit, then
You don't need to open loot boxes
Granted you log in for 70 hours a week
You get 3 free stabs at the end of the month
But I was referring to escort missions and Ico
A lot of people believe the last guardian isn't a very good game
While it was highly anticipated
It's not as influential as shadow of the colossus let alone Ico
Also is it really an escort mission?
tbh I wish they had used the opportunity of the remake to fit some extra colossi
I'm glad they left it as it is, though something that persistently irritates me are developers who can't leave their work alone, become overly attached and end up making it worse
Though ueda's design philosophy means something like that is unlikely to happen
If he was involved and wanted to do so, I would gladly accept the addition
They did add a Last Guardian Easter Egg tho
And an Ico one too
has anyone tried out neon white yet?
Have a friend who is enjoying it
Only complain he has is that the humor gets a bit too cringe at times
oh ok card shooting mechanic looks a bit weird but the movement seems good so i may get it during the summer sale
Annapurna typically publishes good games
Did someone say The Outer Wilds?
Outer wilds, journey, the pathless, flower, what remains of Edith Finch
We don't speak of 12 minutes
Mistakes are an inevitable consequence of humanity
Fumito Ueda has made known his interest in possibly developing a 3d perspective shooter
I've expressed my disdain for that genre
Ashen too
And Solar Ash
Also yeah 12 minutes was one of my biggest dissapointments in a while
Mmmm Solar Ash
@zenith micahas been playing 🤔
[BREAKS DOWN DOOR] NEON WHITE
I LOVE IT
lotta fun, very satisfying mechanics and level design
i didn't know Annapurna publishes action shooter
2475
still made out better than the streamer who spent like 16k usd to get an actual 5* and then deleted his character and uninstalled the game
like mate you just gave blizzard so much money what point are you trying to make here,,,,,
That's an example of the sunk cost fallacy
Time is the most valuable asset for those with a finite amount of it
At our present understanding of it at the very least
i cant believe it i finally hit my mgsv roadblock of developing multiple stuff for a rocket launcher for the metal gear boss battle
its driving me nuts
That's the same guy who started FFXIV, bought a story skip and a class skip to max level, tried to do high difficulty raid content, got mad he didn't know how the game worked and how to play his class, and uninstalled to go back to WoW
So, y'know, history of categorically Bad Decisions
That's one big moron
Provided he has the resources...
OH GOD
this post is triggering my early KF2 flashbacks
dear lord
i'd see this sort of stuff every week
it was common to see 25lvl guys joining SUI and HOE games and dragging the whole team all the way down till they all wiped at wave 5
and then getting mad at everyone else for not helping them
like... mate - you can barely pull your own weight, you're at the bottom of the scorelist while playing demo
it's because they all used those fast leveling maps to grind to 25 in about an hour while doing nothing
instead of - you know - earning XP by playing and learning the darn game YEAH I'M NOT MAD
IT'S BEEN 5 YEARS AND I'M NOT MAD ANYMORE, NOT AT ALL
this stuff...
made me discover there's Gordon Ramsay living in my head, rent free
he would come out like some sort of weird anime alt persona and take over
just... 🤬 constantly for 30 minutes
If I remember correctly, the big hangup was like
In WoW, when you're dodging an AoE, you have until the animation goes off to move, but in XIV, you have until the AoE marker disappears
So he kept getting clipped by things he thought he would dodge (which he would have known how to do if he had actually played as intended), got mad, called the game trash and uninstalled
i feel stupid
i farmed so much in MGSV to get a good homing missile launcher but then I just beat the whole damn metal gear boss fight using a soviet rust bucket BTR
i mean - hey
as long as it works
https://twitter.com/Wario64/status/1538931810456899584 you will play ruined king
it improves on a lot of what battle chasers did but its still a bit grindy if you want to 100% it but i dont think on the same level
the leveling didnt feel the same to me lol
i also did not play on highest difficulty either though so ymmv i guess
overall the general consensus from people that played battle chasers is that ruined king is an improved battle chasers that still has its own hangups
battlechasers 😭
idk why I started this game (just not my genre) but since I wanna finish everything I started.... in the end, I just overleveled completely and blew the final boss away
Elden ring is projected to be the best this year has to offer
A shame
Other developers didn't even make it remotely difficult
Also Battlechasers commited the Capital sins of RPGs in 2017
No group Experience
So you were stuck with your favored characters
what does that mean
Speaking of capital sins of RPGs, it's a shame the Chrono Cross remaster kinda honks
It's a deeply flawed game I hold a lot of love for and I'm bummed it was a pretty low-effort affair outside of Radical Dreamers
Sounds like Radical Dreamers was added just to not make it a blatant cash grab, but ended up being still a blatant cash grab
At least FFX/X-2 Remaster had all the Japan exclusive stuff, like Last Mission, the monsters in the party in X-2 and Eternal Calm, that was a good remaster but why can't we skip the Tidus laugh momento
I'll still probably end up paying like, ten bucks for it on sale, but only because I really like it
Gamble Diablo Immortal Legendary Gems for free
Someone made a Diablo immortal rolling simulator
try to break the WR of most money spent for 1 5 star
hehe yeah i dropped it this morning but not a lot of people were around
i got one at like 2.1k
Got one at 375
tsk tsk spamming links fox
it's actually first try when i hit that
i was like is this broken or what lmao
but yeah idk how valuable that gem is but a few hundred dollars for that is just insane
its soooo scummy they have that 50 draw pity system for 5* BUT you dont actually get a 5* in your pity draw, you get a gem with five stars but it could actually be like 2 OF five stars
i am not sure, but even if you manage to get the actual 5/5 stars, i think you need like 6 in total to upgrade a piece of gear?
$6050 for me lol
You can upgrade to 5 stars but from what I've heard it's an inordinate amount of resources to do it
I got a 4/5 star on my first ever roll which means I've used up all my luck for hypothetically playing this game
got me till 1.4K dolleridoos to get 1 5 stars
I would really like to see the distribution curve to see how much on average one has to spend in order to get single 5 star
This game sounds terrible
It gets me dizzy seeing those numbers
Diablo immortal is the best diablo game ever
/s?
No other diablo game even comes close
Maybe diablo IV might be better
But that's yet to be seen
It might have a few minor, negligible, trivial, insignificant unimportant issues
But it's still far better than all the other games in the series
nah monetization thoroughly ruins it. i don't care how good the game is on a technical level, they paywall f2p players from even grinding so even if you want to play without spending money you literally cant without the game severely limiting your loot. imagine playing a diablo that doesn't even let you hunt for loot without ponying up money and unironically thinking that's good
What a thrill...
god that tape is my favorite from MGSV
This conspiracy has gotten out of hand
What sort of enjoyment do people obtain from from eastern role playing games
It doesn't seem very engaging
The combat consists of selecting text in a menu
Part of me wants to give MGSV another shot, but I feel like I'm obligated to finish Death Stranding first
Time to play Ico
I do wish Sony remakes the game sometime soon
Few games are as deserving of such treatment as Ico
i mean - if you boil it down to such a basic level - every genre looks just as simple
like "why do people like first person shooters? it's just pointing and clicking"
"why do people like racing games? it's just holding gas and avoiding crap"
"why do people like rythm games? it's just pressing 5 buttons in a strict order"
it's not what you do, but the context of what you do that matters
while JRPGs can get a bit... weird
with a lot seemingly random mechanics slapped on top of each other ||like the fashion show mechanics in FF13 or that slot machine thingy in ff10 i believe||
what they lack in character creation freedom they make up for in sheer amount of stats and different effects you can play around with
picking an attack option in ff8 isn't engaging - sure
what is engaging is the fact that this simple button press synergises with a bunch of other stuff i've set up in my character and a bunch of spells and effects to make one super hard hitting combo i've been planning 5 turns in advance
with most other genres mechanical action, skill and thinking that stimulate in real life the parts of your brain you would use for such activities is required
same here
you gotta use your bren to really get the most out of systems like that
like - let's look at old fallout games for comparison
or any other RPG from that era with turn based combat
it was always the kind of "do X to Y enemy using Z character"
same here - but instead of clicking on characters and enemies you just pick them from a list
it's a similar concept - just presented in a slightly different way
i mean - hell
we're on an SGG server - let's compare it to their game
even transistor works on a similar level
sure - it plays in real time mostly
but when you switch on that turn mode - it's basically the same thing
you have all the time in the world to attack X enemy from Y angle using Z ability
it's just presented in a different way, but effect is the same
i mean - hell - the game itself even shows you a list of your actions in each turn
as you queue them up
you know what i mean?
don't avoid eastern RPGs just because their combat consists of selecting text in a menu (which - btw - is rarely the case nowadays anyway)
it's not about the game having a list of abilities you have to click through
it's about how the game uses this list to give you freedom of choice in your approach to each scenario
am i making sense here?
or am i just going crazy?
iunno im tired and tipsy
🧠
i mean - hell - to get the same point across using FF8...
you can just press a single button to turn off the enemy and character list and just point at them on the screen
and it's the same thing - you just don't get their names
It's something that's always discouraged my interest in them which poses and issue given their deep historical roots in ludology and gaming as a whole
i get that
Any ones you would recommend as an introduction
I've played defcon which is a far simpler game but the gameplay style is similar
well...
there was this one title - made by square enix itself
it was called Chaos Rings and despite being made in 2010 it had gorgeous pre-rendered backgrounds and full 3d turn based battles like the best titles from the PS1 era...
and with a fairly low difficulty level and this pick up and play sort of style it was a great introduction to this sort of style of games...
...bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbuuuuuuuuut...
that was 12 years ago...
...and it was an IOS exclusive...
...and it's been delisted for years now...
so good luck hunting that down
cause we're living in the lamest dystopian timeline and we can't have good things anymore
oh defcon is great
but it's a completely different kind of game
it's a strategy game, not a JRPG
I was thinking they might be share the strategy as a common mechanic
Since it's also text in menus
Well tiny diagrams
It seems chaos rings is available on the PlayStation Vita
Might be easier to get ahold of than first apparent
Undertale is an RPG I could try playing that again though it might be a special exception
I need something very representative of the genre
While still welcoming to a newcomer
maaaaaaaaaaaaaaan
look at this stuff
we need to get some JRPG fans into this convo
this server is full of them, after all
https://youtu.be/OooUDF4o6Qo?list=PLZhk-gtNAjol9iTP1Ia7ioCMGUko8wA1Y&t=803
but seriously - this looks like some sort of forgotten gem of a PS1 JRPG classic
and it came out in 2010 on flipping phones
bideogaems are weird
oh i wanna play it again SO BAD
it wasn't super deep or like mind blowing or whatever
but for a phone game? with no microtransactions?
back when developers cared because it seemed like iphones could replace your PSPs and DSs and what not?
sign me up
i almost wanna ping the mods to see if they played it
i know alma and bababababababstion like jrpgs
also - the HUD is super scuffed here too
i think they're emulating this or something like that
oh yeah - the UI lags - it's 100% an emulator thing

i gotta finish the first one first
i remember switching phones halfway through the game
so the second half might be pure garbage fire, i dunno
but i doubt it
Oh it's on Android, well finding it isn't a challenge then
If you're willing to sidestep the law...
also - WOW!
i can't believe i've just spent over half an hour talking about a game that DOESN'T feature the player circle-strafing around a bunch of demons at light-speeds and turning them into slightly mushy red paste with chunky pink bits still wiggling in the middle by using some absurdly huge explosive weapons
in first person, of course
like i said - i might be
i actually wanna dig up my old iphone
sideload an old 32-bit version of IOS
and run a bunch of old apps on it
believe it or not - there was a brief period of time when iphones had some really, REALLY good ports and original games
before MTX took over
MTX?
microtransactions
I see
chaos rings, infinity blade, republique, bunch of DS ports, hero of sparta, modern combat, old PC ports like carmageddon and vice city
there's some good stuff out there
if you're willing to put up with touch-controls on those ported games
I can imagine, for something once thought to be the future of gaming
mate
it was 100% on board of this hype train - almost from day one
i was one of the early adopters - i was there from early iphone 3G days
jailbroken, of course - so i had the chance to try out as many games as i wanted
Before mobile gaming became a pigsty of greed
and i swear to god - i saw the future
a perfect future, where even games in your pocket had tonnes of talent and passion put into them
a perfect future where microtransactions were but a mere dream of even the most greedy of studio execs
but alas
we live in a dystopia
so that future never came to be
