Just finished Tunic after raving about it for the last few weeks. I've never seen a game use knowledge checkpoints so extensively before, and the fact the game weaves them so well into its structure is awesome.
I haven't been intimidated by how cleverly designed a game is in a while, and Tunic hits that high and then some.

just played this game from the same people who made the red strings club and gods will be watching, its about interviewing a man who claims to have built a radio that lets him speak with god and it uses chatbot technology. unfortunately, it costs too much to maintain and it will be shut down on june 1st. it takes about 30 minutes to complete a playthrough (though you have to do it in one go) and i really recommend playing it before it dies forever :(

Got the ending where ||I talked to God through the radio and got one concept removed. To which then left the place to pass on notes I got from the interview. Generally got to know about the radio and past of the person in question, dreams and the lady they knew, how they got to know who they really are, their interest in technology and making drinks.||
I just didn't like ||the twist? Or well reveal, that all of them were technological constructions made by the God, or so I assume if they are aware of how to make our truth self to show, for the code to be revealed and changed. Felt that took a bit away from the experience. Not that it takes away from how relatively connected I can be to the character, but rather makes a reveal for sake of it? I truly think that it doesn't add much to the experience or how the story portrays of said existence on the planet. Just sort of there, so while it's not a big thing I dislike, just a thing that felt purposeless in the contained interview.||

like I certainly like my own share of games i think have rough starts but there's still usually something to keep me interested, characters or story or smth. if none of that appeals then forcing yourself to play something to the end or something close to the end is only going to make you miserable lol

i was also a digimon kid so these extra elements in pokemon designs are just like yeah sure why not, not the wildest thing ive seen
sometimes they come off as like... design something you think a kid would think is cool, and they hit that mark even if we as adults think it's kinda weird
kids like wild stuff they don't care that a cat has a laser gun stuck to it or whatever
at the end of the day pokemon is still a thing that is marketed primarily towards children, so I don't really criticize designs based on personal taste. if i don't like it im not the target audience of that design
but that's all just on design. as far as game quality yeah go all out on criticism bc gamefreak has gotten lazy and complacent
well moreso the pokemon company is at fault here with their harsh scheduling among other things lol but you get what I mean

You know what I would from a new GTA game?
A story that isn’t a hypocritical mess that treats its target audience like garbage.
Gameplay that actually gives me some freedom and agency instead of prioritizing cutscenes and prolonged animations.
A multiplayer mode that isn’t an MTX driven gambling den focused on milking an unregulated market.
I know none of the above will happen, but hey.
The Saboteur got panned for having sub-par climbing animations when compared to other games of that era.
