They would make more bank if they made an actually good Splinter Cell or Ghost Recon instead of whatever Frontlines and XDefiamt are
The difference between the thousands vs millions of playerbase
Problem is most ubi games nowadays dont stick around
except maybe for siege
So yes XDefiant will be dead same as Frontlines
at least I hope that
it's just ubi being ubi
Shameless plug time, if you want a true Ghost Recon/Rainbow Six game, get Ground Branch, it's about to have a game changing update in december
I hope it becomes more popular the devs deserve it
Just Ubisoft throwing everything at the wall and seeing what sticks
Still searching for their own yearly milk-able, million dollar games with the biggest profit margins
Not a good time to be a long time Ghost Recon fan, but it’s a good time to be a casual gamer though
How about milkable stuff with good content?
They tried to milk assassin creed to death, years ago. It didn't work in the long run xD
No esports viability, no streaming marketing
Funnily enough, being esports viable attracts more casual gamers
good god these casuals
NSO expansion pack pricing has just been announced
Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack expands on the five benefits of Nintendo Switch Online with access to Nintendo 64 games, paid Animal Crossing: New Horizons DLC for no additional cost, and retro SEGA Genesis games. Get a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership or change over from an existing Nintendo Switch Online membership at...
it's more than double the original pricing?!
Momento de Nintendo
Yeah I knew this wasn't going to be worth whatever price they chose
If they decided to add first party Season Pass style content to it that might be fine but I'm not confident it won't only be the Animal Crossing one
I wouldve taken it for 25 or 30
50 bucks? Are they for real? 🤣
Wtf.
You can literally emulate everything on your phone
Yet people spend 50 dollarinos on it
I swear 50-60 dollars lost their value so quickly
"bla bla game development is much harder and more expensive now", then don't make games so complicated
comon
the fact that eventually prices will become 70 standard scares me
it's not that nessesary to have RTX from each hole
Step 1
Download Mupen 64 on your android or iOS device
Step 2
Get the roms for whatever games you wish to play
Step 3
You just saved 50 dollars and can play so many more games
that's why big N is so strict about any unlicensed content in the internet
It wont do anything
They cant stop the games being saved
I for one began archiving some games myself
I like preserving history
that just makes them look even more evilcorp-like, and nothing more
Also some people consider it piracy even though it's vaporwave
if you cant buy it then just download it for free, no strings attached and no guilt
So yes play Mario 64 on your phone to your heart's content
piracy is about living platforms, like current gen consoles and most of PC games post-DOS era
but when some platform is not being made anymore, then it's nothing good in charging for the games for that platform again and again
I cant wait for the time when Xbox 360 will be considered retro
Mfw Red Dead 1 will most likely be stuck on it
yeah
Not like this Rockstar 😢
Hey.
Me and my friend are looking for someone to play League of Legends (we'd like to expand our English communication skills, and have some fun as well) if there is anybody interested, please reply to my message so we can get to know each other.
communication skills on LoL? you mean trash talk? 😉
which server?
in any case, good luck
also r/leagueoflegends Discord is a much better place to look for things like this. They literally have a looking for partner channel.
I like stealth games, but I agree with one of the Splinter Cell Conviction devs who said that stealth are kinda "grandmother" games
lots of waiting around, lol
that's why I like being able to cause distractions in stealth games even if its just by throwing a rock or something
makes it more interactive than "wait for the guard to turn around again"
yeah i really like shadows tactics
well they are removing all chat soon lol
oh my quote didn't go thru
@ league guy
but also
oh worm
kinda sad that i am remotely surprised since we know valve's track record with doing anything on steam
though, you know, the more i think abt it the funnier this is bc like. okay they are kicking nfts off their platform, good for them, but they don't particularly have any moral ground to stand on either bc [looks at csgo gambling and the like]
I guess since they can't directly profit off it is the only reason they are truly removing it.
I guess they don't want steam to become a stock market for Bitcoin
Cool, NFTs are garbage
yeah it's good to see Steam take NFTs off the platform.
take splinter cell conviction and rename it to Jason Bourne the game
would literally be GOTY
Thats precisely why theyre doing it from what I understand
If you could legally make real money from skins via steam
It would legally make them actual gambling
Meaning they would be subject to tax and regulations
as long as its only SteamBux™️ its fine i guess lol
yes always 👉😎👉
hell yeah!
Beat dread solid 6/10 might go for full map completion cause I like doing that in games
but over all it was an ok game
sounds like Valve would rather make their own NFTs
That would be a financial compliance nightmare
cant wait for the nft craze to end I genuinely am sick of ads and poeple being like bro did you invest in crypto and nft
Yeah but did you invest in a social life holy crap these guys are annoying
they sound like a cult lmao
if you go check replies on tweets abt nfts they all genuinely just sound the same
crypto games... why dont yall just play some actual games
yes
i think most people that are aware of nfts realize or have been told by now its all basically mlm nonsense. i also think a lot of these crypto people are like... piling onto nft bc they missed the bitcoin train when it was new so they're desperate to hop on early onto anything promising
the amount of small games on steam that just exist to mine crypto...wild
tiniest asset flip loaded games being 1GB+ in size
HMM

oh yeah games with their own launchers too are basically hidden bitcoin miners but oh well
so is every program ever these days we just dont know it
also no way nintendo is finally finishing animal crossing new horizons
it only took around 2 years since 2020
oh god and now they are making paid dlc's
tfw the dlc is 25 dollars
it gets worse!
Return of the Obra Dinn. ||Damn once you are out of new discoveries on the ship it truly does let such feeling be known. But glad I am on a good track and have solved quite a bit of it, or at least three chapters out of every. (which are the first three, but still.)||
they're announcing a new nintendo switch online bundle with that dlc
which only lets you RENT the dlc
kek
the second you cancel your subscription/don't renew it, you lose access to the dlc...and you have to pay 25 bucks for it each year
honestly at this point illegal aquiring of nintendo games doesnt sound like such a morally ambiguous thing
with how many rom websites they've taken offline it's gotten harder and harder, from what i've seen
mostly consisting of games they're no longer producing or selling (nor their consoles), meaning they don't lose any money from people emulating those games
that's why Im archiving my own physical games
and getting other files from my friends
by physical switch games i only mean ac, mario kart and botw because nintendo games are expensive as crap
still regret paying 60 god damned euros for ac but at least my sister finds enjoyment in it
what the
there is no reason to get this bundle like...why pay the dlc price anually to rent it instead of paying the fee once and being able to play it forever
though tbf imo this dlc and most of the new content should've been free. new horizons was an unfinished mess that had to be out for a certain deadline and it shows
plus it seems there's content in there that was in new leaf for free, was then removed in new horizons (prob bc of time constraint) and is now being sold back to us
legit no excuse for this honestly
yeah my friend pitched in 40/60 USD because she wanted more people to play with and I said I think that game is only worth 20 for the pixel art
and now she doesn't play anymore lol
What emulator is that
Mupen64
it's on android too
Well I didnt set it up properly since it's missing some buttons and the res is kinda bad but I can fix it
Also I just want Nintendo to go back to the home console and handheld model
I remember as a kid wanting a 3DS so much because of features like the camera, the dual screens, the cool 3D games, the themes the interface, everything made it so fun
DS Lite was peak Nintendo design
i remember being 10 and getting a GBA with my first pokemon game
Yeah I barely had consoles and such when I was younger I only had some crappy Nokia and dad's old PC with Dune, Counter Strike and GTA SA
My family's priorities totally didn't focus on very unecessary stuff such as consoles back then
So I grew up with a laptop and games below 2012
i used to play rollercoaster tycoon on a very old computer
zoo tycoon too, i think
rip to the dozens of unsatisfied customers who i murdered in an unfinished rollercoaster
Also very obscure thing that there used to be a Nesquik cereal promotion where every pack had a CD-ROM with a hot wheels game
And there used to be some happy meal inspector gadget CD I got from a Happy Meals
God I miss those times but I also dont because dad was gone working hard abroad and yeah I didnt notice most of the really bad stuff happening because I was just a stupid kid
yeah that's growing up, kind of
I used to love killing people in warcraft 3 and now when I play it the death sounds are kind of unnerving
that's the sound of Blizzard killing any chance of the remake of War3 being good
and ruining old copies of War3
was that reforged?
not sure which warcraft game reforged was a remake of
only that it tanked
It's WC3 yeah and it's terrible
One of the complaints is actually that they scrambled up the death sounds, so it's harder to tell which unit just died
this is the part that guts me the most lmao they werent content ruining the remaster but had to ruin legacy too
i have old disc copies so im not sure if it would make me update them if i tried to reinstall since i have not touched the game in quite a many years but if it does
wild how the starcraft remaster was actually good (and had carbot mode!) but w3 was a complete disaster
yea, when you update to the latest version of war3 (which you need to do if you want to go online), they make you d/l the remake assets, so your 1.5 gig war3 becomes a 30 gig game
man it really is hard out here to like Nintendo
Epic Games Store will welcome games that make use of blockchain tech provided they follow the relevant laws, disclose their terms, and are age-rated by an appropriate group. Though Epic's not using crypto in our games, we welcome innovation in the areas of technology and finance. https://t.co/6W7hb8zJBw

do yall wanna know the funny part to this
also sweeney two weeks ago:
https://twitter.com/TimSweeneyEpic/status/1442519522875949061
@EliBenSasson Replied:
We aren’t touching NFTs as the whole field is currently tangled up with an intractable mix of scams, interesting decentralized tech foundations, and scams.

1054
so you know this is just seeing valve throw nfts off the platform and epic going
dude we could yank the upset cryptobros
how good are those "relevant laws"
does this look like a man who knows what he's doing
hes just chasing that potential $$ that valve threw out
omg i didnt notice
I would rule no on that one
thats hilarious
I still don't know too much about blockchain stuff other than it's bad
like, does it track your location or do anything to voilate your privacy?
you just dont own anything. you own a receipt that says you own a thing marked to x wallet. oh and also the power it takes for these transactions is ridiculously high
so they take power form your system to get bitcoin?
This tbh
The most prevalent method of generating the proof that you "own" thing happens to chew through tons of electricity
yeah that's not very fun
theres reports that say btc mining consumes as much power as entire countries lol
throw the whole thing out, cryptocurrency, blockchains, nft, just toss it 😭
good golly gosh
wait i am so confused, what do blockchain and gaming have to do with each other?
well for starters have you ever heard of Cooking Mama?
(yeah I know it wasn't blockchain it was just umoptimized)
although actually I think it's people trying to be sneaky about making bitcoin
The scenario I was always presented was being able to buy and sell unique items on whatever marketplace you had
For example, if you had an MMO and you killed 100 chickens with a sword, it might become "Character Name's sword of Chicken Slaying"
You could then sell that and repeat with other unique identifiers that are tracked through the block chain process
how does epic still have funds
they literally threw money at the problem and it didnt work
and threw even more for the apple case
My good friend does neco-arc edits https://twitter.com/Neco_Ico/status/1173668599376097281
why is this cat so funny
What didn’t work? EGS? Well, EGS did have crazy revenue
I have to say, Civ6 is so much better than I thought it would be. I’ve spent like 55h into the game, and and I’ve never even touched any other civs other than Sumerian, Japanese and Macedonian. I can see myself going in 300h easy in this spread over months for this year
Best $10 (got it on sale) I’ve spent this year, certainly
Will probably go in hard on the DLCs
And what’s funny about that is I don’t think I even fully understand this game yet lmao
are there any good games similar to hades? ive been playing dead celll wich is fun.im on nintendo switch
anyone tried dream scaper?
similar to hades as in difficulty or roguelike
as in roguelike
looks like its not on the switch platform though
oh right
i mean you can play it on a laptop or whatever
or iirc on humble bundle there's a browser version that you get for free alongside the game
Rip nerovingian they've being enthralled by the luring of the 4X
Just a disclaimer but Im very biased towards FTL
I consider it like the flawless gem of roguelikes
It's great but I don't know if I'd put it in the same breath as Hades since the gameplay is completely different
Curse of Dead Gods is the obvious answer, I've heard good things
Moonlighter is also neat but less fast-paced
Branching out a bit from that I also recommend Enter the Gungeon or either of the Necrodancer games (Crypt of the Necrodancer and Cadence of Hyrule)
thanks..curse of t the dead gods looks interesting.
Tfw no other game has connected with me as well as Hades
Thought Deathloop would be it. But it was riddled w/ performance issues and crashes. It is also so short
i like to call it diet dishonored
I think I need to try dishonored again
But the whole chaos thing stresses me out lmao
Brain goblins don't quite work like that
It is fairly addicting, ngl. I’m looking forward to try the other 4x games you guys have mentioned earlier in this chat as well lmao
There was a statement by the devs that specifically said Deathloop wasn’t a roguelike lol
They like, really didn’t want players to think it was a roguelike
I mean I didn't mention it was a roguelike? Lol
Yeah, you didn’t but we were talking about roguelikes and I heard about Deathloop and how it wasn’t a roguelike, so I mentioned that
I’m just saying, sorry
hey mb. didn't realize the topic above was about roguelikes lmao
First rule of this channel: Every conversation taking here will end being about Roguelikes 😁
Outer Wilds is a roguelite.
Return of the Obra Dinn ||I am up to 30 confirmed body counts, have an option to leave the ship, but worry I won't be able to check the deaths scenes proper for clues. Unsure if to head out or not.||
||And to answer, yes, I caught the tattooed crew member. I was feeling great having caught that information early on alongside the bed tags representing the list numbers.||
I want No more heroes 3 so bad
||Does that also make Obra Dinn a roguelite?||
3 ultra expected games for me are just around the corner
Inscryption
Darkest Dungeon 2
Voice of Cards
Anyone gonna buy them on release?
played through Inscryption in closed beta, so only looking forward to others playing it and exploring!
Voice of Cards I first time hear about, but maybe will play Darkest Dungeon 2 on release, or at least soonish after release.
VoC is the new Yoko Taro game
oh this looks neat! Though pricy for me, will see about it down the line.
You can always play the demo if you wanna pass the time one hour, tho
small indie company
there is only so much space in the win11 bundle, all mobs may not make it at once
also, minecraft is a horror game now wot
always has been
never felt like it
Survival
have you ever explored a cave in 2 am in the dark with headset?
yeah
ambient cave sounds are creepy but like, I'm in a suburban home why would the noises be coming from here
well, sudden creepers are, sorry for pun, creepy
I can agree with that
but nowhere as creepy as what's being put in the deep dark, the warden spawn animation gave me chills
gta v not getting any dlc is so criminal i wonder if it's even legal
there used to be rumors about a dlc about michael but yeah totally not
they went full online unfortunately
Finished Return of the Obra Dinn. Played quite a bit of it today. Interesting game. I did quite a bit of trickery with how system worked to guess much more smartly with some remaining ones, but must say what a great story game, although wasn't so keen on guessing things, still fun!
NIce you enjoyed it
Man, my buddy who I played tons of League with has become so damn addicted to weed or something. He can’t even talk without slurring when I play with him anymore
another soul lost huh
Is it bad that I thought this was a non issue from a LoL standpoint?
Though ig League has unranked mode for less sweaty games.

it is our time
finally, a bundle for xcom2-likes.
or well sale for them
I just played FEAR 1 and god it's kinda scary
Also hard as hell on moderate difficulty
Maybe Im supossed to actually use the bullet time more
But yes the AI is pretty damn good
Well, high barrier of entry, closed playerbase, that sort of thing. Online games always have sweaty players though, and that’s why I just stopped playing online games (not to mention daily quests as well)

We're still doing this ?
Maybe? A bit. I only did it for the bit of the rogues sale.
Oh god
Just imagine if this catches up
In a few years ...
Apex legends 3
With pay to win microtrabsactions you have to pay via bitcoins
YES WE BLOODY DO.
XCOM IS A ROGUELITE AND NOTHING ELSE MATTERS.
Is Fire Emblem also a roguelite?
Is mayonnaise an instrument ?
instrument in sandwich orchestra
yes
that's cool and sad at the same time
Gunpoint is a stealth puzzle game for PC that lets you rewire its levels to trick people.
interesting, how paladins are doing atm, last time i checked people were throwing tomatos at them for being overwatch ripoff, even though it wasn't
lol manufactuers making ps5 faceplates that literally challenged sony to sue them months back got a cease and desist from sony and are shocked and upset about it
literally what did you expect
now theyre banking on gamer rage to look good against sony, which is working ofc, but like. you brought it upon yourself, i dont feel sorry for you lmao
I doubt d brand are actually shocked tbh, their social media precense is strange...and it works somehow
their social media precense is strange
understatement of the year. they made wendy's roasts look like compliments
I don't know how to say what i want to say without swears lmao
lmao
they thought their marketing strategy was going to work and now theyve got egg on their face ¯_(ツ)_/¯
maybe challenging sony to take action against you isnt the play to make
it DOES work with gamers who just read a headline title and get spurred into action with little else but what good does that do them with a c&d
their entire reddit thread about it is honestly so pretentious its grating rofl
I don't disagree with you in the slightest.
I hope their legal team wasn't dumb enough to not have continancy plans because it was fairly obvious sony was gonna take some form of legal action as soon as these dbrand flavoured side panels came into existance
(I kinda forgot they existed tbh)
i did too but i DO remember them challenging sony to sue them
Yeh, same that's all i remembered too
me, earlier in the year: surely thats going to work out well
me now: yeah that tracks
So, Sora drops in Smash tomorrow.
I've been waiting years for this moment, I'm just so excited
still sux that Sony won't do faceplates themselves...
rumour has it they're planning to and that's part of the reason they went after dbrand
but fact remains they challenged sony so i dont feel sorry for them lol https://web.archive.org/web/20210223101348/https://dbrand.com/shop/special-edition/ps5
their obnoxious "ugh darkplates are dead, you can blame sony 🙄" post is their own fault
edgy marketing only gets you so far
simple and clean intensifies
Simple and Clean does not in fact intensify
(It's conspicuously missing from the song list lol)
may be licensing issues, most likely
getting kh content into smash at all had to have been a licensing nightmare
S&C is the song to KH1 for me, I remember that commercial
well that's a bummer
Presumably the licensing is tied to Hikari Utada and would require even more money
And they probably blew all the budget on the Mickey keychain
Turns out getting the copyright was in fact, not Simple and Clean
It never is with a franchise as Dearly Beloved as this
I googled the song and noticed it was actually an English version of the song Hikari by Utada Hikaru
Funny, I always known the song since I was in high school but didn’t know it was featured in a video game soundtrack
The like:dislike ratio on the Nintendo Switch plan is now 1:5
A re-upload can easily fix that
which video is that?

it says 15K : 52K for me
that's not 1 : 5
I explained the whole NSO expansion debacle to my mom, she said "yeah... that's a bad move"
yeah
it's sad to me that Nintendo kinda just invalidated the one good thing about their service
(kind of)
this is a great ad for the steam deck ngl
I tried playing Moonlighter but their controller rebind thing is broken
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined
yeah that NSO bit is pretty bad
then again, the current Nintendo president was a corporate accountant, then part of The Pokemon Company's board of directors, so charging more for little effort would be in his MO
One day for Inscryption 👀
Return of the Obra Dinn is 3 years old today
Jesus how time flies
jesus, I remember seeing it on the recommendations for me on steam
great game
i bought it but only played it for about 10 minutes or so :/
i couldn't see anything with that visual style
I beat that game, there's a money glitch but it's more fun with out it
Have you tried fidgeting with the visuals Amé1e? There are different artstyles in the game
oh yeah i think i found that option but it never really did anything for me ://
someday i'll try it again i hope
One of Dead Cells lead devs has made a new game

Now elden Ring has been delayed this is February 2022 lineup:
Feb 4: Dying light 2
Feb 18: Horizon Forbidden west
Feb 22: Destiny 2 The Witch Queen
Feb 25: Saints Row reboot
Feb 25: Elden Ring
Quite a loaded month
dw9 empires for those that care abt koei
koei's burned me too bad as of late so thankfully nothing in february is on my radar :)
Oh, I forgot SIFU. Shame on me
Although tbh. DL2 and Horizon I fear they'll get delayed
Reminder the last of us 1 is getting a remake of all games
Damn LiS is 6 years and a half? Not old enough for a remake but old enough to make me feel old
Elden rong🥴
Money, Money, Money, It's all ya need
- Prince Fleaswallow
I'm waiting for info of babylon's fall. I'm Platinum pleb
some people were mad about the facial animations/lip sync stuff
||this character is so old she can't walk anymore she should just die|| spiritfarer are you listening to yourself
ask them, discord.gg/tlg
I’m actually an planning to get the remastered LiS sometime later
Ever since I got my Switch, most of the time, the games I’m getting are older titles I missed during my youth
It’s nice that people like me are getting games on definitive editions nowadays to experience it for the first time
I guess it’s not cool for everyone else though lol
i think its pretty exciting if theyre putting in a ton of effort to updating all the visuals, they might be making a new lis game starring the main characters + locations
I sort of feel like no other game can compare to Hades for me
Which saddens me a little lol
Everspace incredibly cheap right now
Inscryption is out now btw!
everspace is not bad
is red dead online worth trying?
no
hahaha
just a cold no without any elaboration
if it's anything like gta online then yeah it's no, not without breaking the tos anyway 🤐 🤐
on ps it was okay.. on pc i'd not risk it
Oh, thanks for the tip about Everspace, I'm waiting for the second one to be on sale, but I'll have a look at the first one then :)
No probs
it won plenty of awards...
Red Dead 2 looked like it had way too much detail crammed into the dumbest things that made the experience worse
there were so many buttons
Just play Call of Juarez: Gunslinger
(Yes I know these are two completely different genres of gameplay)
fyi game of the year is "won" only by who pays the most
the only thing red dead 2 had was a huge budget.
if you strip away all the insane details, the actual gameplay and mission design are all nothing short of awful.
you either follow someone on a horse for a few minutes and are forced into a shootout or you follow someone on a horse for a few minutes and then nothing.
and when you're free roaming all you're really doing is staring at the red line on the mini map that shows you how to get to the next mission
I like to treat it as a movie
did very well as that
well, a 60 hour film
But I do think Guarma was rushed af
But for some reasom when I started the game I played nothing but that until I finished it
So I truly got my money's worth
I mean I do have some Rockstar bias since I grew up with their games and the only movie game that I played that isnt from them is the Last of Us
What is the Supergiant's take on nft games?
I don't want to put words in anyone's mouth but I would be surprised if it was positive
i literally dont know what's that but it sounds mega cringe
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1593500/God_of_War/ looks like the nvidia now leaks were legit

this will be game prices in 2032
hope that marvel ultimate alliance 3, mirrors edge remastered, titanfall 3 are also true
seems like the nvidia leaks were partly true
What a surprise
ok apparently a job listing teased that gta 6 will have destructible enviroment and even more of a detailed world
given how hard I struggle with getting into witcher 3 I can go without a fourth one lol
those horse controls 😨
Once you get over them you're in for a nice game
Also the torrent of explorable content that is just exhausting to think
if it's really going to be like that i think the wait is justified
Witcher 3 can be nice, but damn is it overloaded with side stuff that's barely does anything and just takes up space on the map.
I think that's the only reason I just stopped playing right before the finale lol.
Hey are the ace attorney games any good? They seem really interesting..
From what I have seen and watched, they are generally pretty nice, BUT the way how cases unfold or some reveal or something else can be a bit eeeh. Some stuff in it can be dumb, so best way of playing them is to expect such and be ready. Gameplay rarely can you fail at, but there can be moments where it's just trial and error if the correct solution (or the way how game wants you to present said solution) didn't show up to you.
It's a nice series to experience, but yeah there are def flaws that like to show up once in a while.
Yeah sometimes you know the answer but you still have to go through it incorrectly so the character ends up at the answer
its awkward at certain points but its not a bad game/series
this is a series with lots of games to choose from. starting from the earliest one is the natural choice, but if you just want to jump into something good then the Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is a good entry point too. It's more polished and a better experience overall
Im starting with the earliest game I think, I'm watching a youtuber play through it because I don't have the option to get the game for myself at the moment
same, although i'm not sure how close i was to the finale. i stopped after that kaer morhn (is that how it's spelled?? i have no idea) battle
i legitimately just got bored with the world, it's just too long of a game and i completely lost interest
But thank you for the advice! :D
to me ace attorney is really interesting from a localization standpoint, because of how much puns and humor they must have to rewrite and make it work 😆
'Eat your Hamburgers Apollo'
i feel like ace attorney is best experienced by playing the og trilogy imo
those are still the best in the series
i've played all games so far (apart from aai2 since it was never localized and the great ace attorney collection bc i haven't gotten around to buying it) and i can honestly say the original trilogy imo is still the strongest when it comes to character development, writing and the humor
hope you get to play Great Ace Attorney soon, because that might change your ranking!
Any good mmorpg for SEA?
Black Desert online and FFXIV
I think Blade and Soul has servers in Thailand and Vietnam.
Path of Exile too, almost forgot.
There is also WoW but it has been going on a downward Spiral into the abyss.
@crisp marsh Hopefully this helped
Anyone here played the Ace Combat games to give me their opinion?
Or the Similar game Project Wingman?
Ah thanks
i played ace combat 5, zero, and 7. i dont know what to say about gameplay other than it's fun and what you can expect. the flight control is not hard , most of the time you only have to point and shoot, sometimes in harsh conditions like having to fly through canyons and such ( maybe too simple for flight sim fans)
what makes it memorable for me are story and characters. lots of dialogue during missions. plus the music is amazing, one of the best game soundtracks imo. just watch the trailers and feel the hype
It's juat that I read AC is basically MGS with Planes and that idea Fascinates me
sounds accurate!
they have these memorable giant machines that are like boss fights which are really cool
Cool, I'll get AC7 in sale then
here's music from last battle in AC zero https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80XAJKqRU9k

Thanks Miko
I read this out of context thinking Assassin's Creed and the simile kind of broke my brain lol
I was obviously talking about Animal Crossing
lmao
I haven't played Assassin's Creed in a long time but it would 0% surprise me to see an assassin jumping from a plane into a bale of hay or something
No matter what era you're in, hay bales are always conveniently located
I tried to play AC7 but it didn't work with my stick
Skul the Hero Slayer finally out on the Switch
Oh god Syndycate that game literally crapped the bed for the next assassin's games to come after

An open world stealth game with a whole city of secrets at your fingertips!Shadows of Doubt is set in an alternate reality hyper-industrialized 1980s, where the government outsources police work to private corporations and contractors. You're a private intelligence investigator, making money by finding and selling information. The capture of the ...
When it's ready
OOOOH
me like
Aw yiss, was waiting for that!
Gotta finish Spiritfarer first tho.
Btw, finished Inscryption. Great game. The creator has not lost his edge
8 hours it took me. If you're gonna play it Go 100% blind. This is a warning
Shadows of Doubt has some vibes
I know right? Honestly quite impressed how much has changed and improved the game even got after such short period of closed beta.
Im very disappointed that Devolver's cultist sheep game doesnt have gore like damn that would truly make it a cultist game
Anyhow
happy 20th anniversary to GTA 3
maybe, just maybe, we get a trailer for the remastered trilogy
Also wonder if PS1 graphics would be the next indie trend because I kinda had enough of 8bit and 16bit
Play Lisa: the Painful
Another earthbound inspired RPG, I know, but this one's actually good. Great story, amazing characters, and some moments are the embodiment of the meme of the guy laughing and crying. There's some DLC that I haven't gotten to yet, but I hope it's just as good as the rest of the game. A quick warning though, it gets dark like, really dark, so if you're not comfortable with gore etc, skip this one out. Otherwise, please, I implore you to play it
A tip for future reccs
Please don't mention it's Earthbound inspired cause it became such a meme game genre that it turns everyone off
But Im sure it's great
finally got around to playing Deltarune, it's really good
definitely gonna buy Undertale once I finish chapter 2 of Deltarune
oh nooo...?
Didnt Yakuza director also join them?
Not gonna lie, I am very curious for what's in store
Hope they dont get assigned to mobile gacha games
All I can remember from them is crappy licensed games and some escape from tarkov rip off
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition includes the genre-defining Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas together — each one enhanced for a new generation and available together for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via the Rockstar Game...
I knew it they would launch the trailer today
it looks great
So, as of now the most interesting games I saw were Black Book, Vagrus The Riven Realms and Gordian quest
Gordian Quest is sort of eh
I played it
it feels like a mixture of ton of genre that feels confusing and mushed in together.
Add Wyldermyth
Wyldermyth I can vouch for def, neat game. Feels nice seeing your characters change overtime with stories and what not.
Wishlisted it then
Anyhow I'll probably just buy Voice of Cards and DD2 at the end so nvm
Kinda frustating the search in Steam
All good games mixed with the Shovelware
yeah steam be like that mostly now.
good thing I blocked out some tags so it's less shovelware.
Yeah in the Fest I just went to Featured and scrolled down
Let others judge for me
Still Gonna probably buy Black Book on Sale
Seems genuibely good
- sees new Zoruark form
- isn't this just Lycanroc
Ok. After seeing the last DD2 trailer I'm calling it now
First quest is about helping Dismas escape prison
wait there's a new trailer??

woah
I wasn't 100% certain about the change to 3D when they announced the game but I'm loving the animations here
hm yes darkest 2 reverse C ungeon
yeah it feels well put and still hold up the style
like how when someone hits someone they freeze frame like in the first game
rip reynauld
I'm really curious about the Cart gameplay tbh
Can't remember the available classes but would be funny if two classes are unavailable because in canon they sacrificed themselves
supposedly it works closer to a traditional roguelike (than the original game at least)
at least that's what I've heard
it seems the cart gameplay is real time controlled by player.
interesting that you can run over stuff in it. Wonder if it will have some gameplay element or just there for visual sake.
They should have turned right in Albuquerque
would love to try playing darkest dungeon but heard it's crazy difficult
its simultaneously brutally unforgiving but also surprisingly....well, forgiving
you can't actually lose, just set back
Yeah but unlike other Roguelikes there is no failure condition. Only setbacks
Granted losing your well tuned character sucks
though setbacks can def be harsh, if you are late into the game.
are there difficulty settings btw?
there's radiant mode, which isn't necessarily easier per se but it cuts down on the grind and frustration
which is what I played
good to know! i don't mind grind as much as long as it stays interesting
its very much a game about rolling with the punches
hotline miami fan game but it's just HEALTH music
doing the same run again and again in hades never felt like a drag because you could try different builds throughout runs and every time you did die, you knew something new would appear in the house that would be fun
like new dialogue or new items to buy
Oh damn. Without crusader or vestal we lose the most consistent healers
the debate has been settled
B chads, rejoice
Mister White....I don't feel so good
It's difficult in the sense that it's punishing if you don't have enough knowledge.
If you know enough about the game, or at least enough to know to abuse some OP comps, it's quite easy.
the charm about these games is how much it hurts when you fail
(seconded)
devs (or AS) were too smart to deal with such unknown aspects of reality, so they made portals on moving surfaces disappear
i'd probably vote for second, and there is also a torrent of air should be flowing from the static one before cube gets yeeted out
minute physics did a video on it and the answer is inconclusive iirc

Watch the first Uncharted movie trailer.
Fortune favors the bold. Based on one of the best-selling, most critically acclaimed video game series of all time, Uncharted introduces audiences to the young street-smart Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) and showcases his first treasure hunting adventure with wisecracking partner Victor "Sully" Sullivan (Ma...
NO, just NO
Tom is way too young to play Nathan Drake
please oh god
Christ Pratt as Mario is whatever, this is just horrid
some one save video game movies T.T
They never really were that good to begin with
Save? Lmao
At least video game movies are being given bigger budgets with bigger names. Maybe someone will crack the code like Marvel did with comic movies
Detective Pikachu was like 80% fun but I think that's about it?
Maybe og Mortal Kombat?
problem with them is just they do good just because of the branding
Yeah this movie was so close. I'm just waiting for Nintendo to let Pokémon grow up with its fanbase.
Good luck because Pokemon will stay the same awaiting to milk the upcoming generations of kids
world of Pokémon is unfortunatelly shallow.. when you start asking too many question, the very fabric of this reality can be compromised
like, are there any other non-pokémon animals.. why is all the society and infrastructure is built around pokémons..
why pokeballs existed for centuries, even though they look like modern devices
etc
the universe is pretty interesting, but it's hard to put serious themes in it
I mean I'd consider Black and White to have touched on some decently serious themes, and a lot of the specifics across the series have had a good emotional core and story to tell, but a lot of it is held back in trying to be for everyone and resting on laurels
Like I don't think they need to go fangame dark with it, they just need to realize that they don't have to treat the target audience, children, like idiots
Arceus looks like an interesting gameplay toss-up and I hope they stick the landing on it and keep what it introduces around (even though I'm sure they'll just toss it all for no good reason like every other decent new mechanic)
have not read it in quite a many years but i remember liking what i read. also theres that whole infamous gen 5 gym leaders tied up on crosses bit?? where was that in the games
pokeballs are freaky. like what if some uses it to summon something huge...and drop it on buildings in a city. then instantly recall it and drop it elsewhere. what if you have an army of these guys. it be like...a weapon of mass destruction!
I mean idk I'd like to see substance around some of the horrifying pokedex entries.
whoo yeah playing ace attorney for the first time
starting from the original?
yep!
So, I was playing Bioshock 2 on my Switch, and the game crashed, I lost 1 and a half hour of progress, and now I’m contemplating on whether to just jump to Infinite or just kept trying to play the second one
Had this issue on the first game as well, where the game repeatedly crashed on Fort Frolic, I actually played parts the level three times
I should save more often… if only I can remember to do that
let's hope not.
this
video games have been worse and worse as years passed by because of how profitable they are, this would just put the nail in the coffin
ngl we kinda need another game crash but it wont happen since back then games were very new and such
movies made after games are like a book made after movie
fans may be interested, but it's still a step down, and will unlikely be as good as original
It's just that people think in books as the triple A books so to speak and don't realize just how many masterpieces of cinema are based on books
Lots of movies ended being as good or better than the books based on it
Albino I think they mean the other way around
There was a trend where film companies would make a book retelling the events of the film in text form
Even films that are already based on books
oh god but why
"Money money money, it's all ya need"
-Prince Fleaswallow
ya know?
crappy casting aside
this actually looks like it may be fun
sure - tom hollad is young, but...
once he got that battered beige shirt on in that action clip there he actually kinda-sorta looked like younger drake
which is
alright
Young drake from 3?
makry mark however
looks nothing like sully
where's his mustache?
and grey hair?
i guess they're going for this sort of made up story that takes stuff from all 4 games
with an overall younger cast
which i can get behind
yeah kinda does
but still - that trailer actually looks like dumb popcorn fun
and i usually hate videogame movies
and videogames
and movies

oh yeah - forgot to mention
nolan north spent a lot of time on the set and gave the whole thin his blessing
Hades movie when?
that L shape tho
oooohhh he's a real jerk
anyway
imma go now and be angry at videogames in my own little corner

I'd kill the L shape if I had the chance
That escalated pretty quick
Bruh have you not seen his season 4 arc?
I don't follow. Watched first season and I can see the whole thing already. It's just clearing lines over and over again, the chars are stagnant. Not my fav
There's a beach episode in season 2
also
this reminds me
there's this thing too
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5CZQpqF_74
Nathan Fillion is Nathan Drake in this live action Uncharted short film by Director Allan Ungar.
Based on the video game series by Naughty Dog.
CAST
Nathan Fillion as Drake
Stephen Lang as Sully
Geno Segers as Diego
Mircea Monroe as Elena
Ernie Reyes Jr as El Tigre

what? you think a single beach episode will seduce me to watch 2 seasons of boring show?
You're goddamned right
Anyone remember this thing?
Lego Digital Designer
so many memories, used to play it in turns with my siblings on dad's windows xp computer
So I have some questions, but... What are your thoughts on the combat of Metroid Dread and No More Heroes III?
What are everyone's favorite Switch games in general honestly.
i think video games just have a sense of interactivity that doesn't translate well onto a movie screen
more cinematic games might work as movies (uncharted, god of war 2018 etc.) because they're already cinematic in style, but often what make games fun is you interacting with the medium itself
Exactly.
the witcher show is based off the books rather than the games right?
yeah it doesnt really count
adapting books is really easy because it's more of an invisible imagination of those who read it
but it's inspired by the first book
i mean not inspired
yeah true that
but i'd say video games are kind of a tier above movies when it comes to adaptations
like, in the future book adaptations would probably be games
i mean it worked for the witcher and metro
although Metro 2033 the book was better than the game
My favourite game of all time has a disk in the special edition that is a movie, so it can be done
One of these is not like the others
And before somebody asks: No, I didn't name any of the cities
Šuš
I’ve watched the reviews, I really wanted to try this
The core is nice but it desperately needs some balance tweaking
The reviews are… divided, but it seems good to me, as a casual civ player
Science-based cultures are busted
True, that’s what I’ve heard
Are we talking exclusives here? Because if so, then, ehh, Nintendo games are kinda everywhere
All over the spectrum
Most, if not everyone, will say BotW
It's hilarious how guns also break the balance like irl
Like before guns there is an arms triangle where melee infantry defeat Cavalry, Cavalry defeats Archers and archers defeat melee Infantry and then guns appear and crushes the three
Evolve or lose, huh?
I love how the most popular switch game is wii u game
i got a feeling the switch acts like a wii u but better at some points
my switch is mostly my indie machine
considering a bunch of indie games used to launch only on pc but now often also see a switch release i can play those games on there
my fav games on the switch i've played is a mix of indie and triple A with my favourites being fe three houses, hades, deltarune, spiritfarer and breath of the wild
my switch also is chock full of indie games
thats how i was able to play transistor
Nintendo's first party titles are mostly hits outside of like, 1-2 Switch and Mario Party
Even then Mario Party is Fine but not worth 60 bucks
I don't use my Switch, I'm too cheap for the Switch games' prices
i either save up or wait for a sale
once i got a game for like $1.95
it was already pretty cheap to begin with but y'know
I bought Sable
I think is Short but sweet
What's your fav part of Spiritfarer btw? I personally loved the Ship building the most
the ship building is a lot of fun but hoo trying to fit everything together kills me. i liked doing all of the quests to find out the characters backstories a lot. traveling across the map was also cool
One step from eden is really fun
Never enough cats
I finally play sekiro... again....
I didn't finish my first playthrough
Got to a point and dropped
I'm doing it all over. Every fight I shake
unironically same, i dont get why everything first party HAS to be 60
Okay, so Sekiro, I've made a lot more progress than I thought. Beat 4 mini bosses, 3 major bosses and got a new weapon. Ran through an area, but hey... can't have everything
I got No More Heroes 3 last night. I already love this game.
I felt like an idiot getting stuck at one miniboss, because I just wanted to know how its animations worked but I couldn't do that with the like 10 different adds he surrounded himself with. So I'd chip them all to death, get a couple of hits in to the miniboss, die, then have to restart this process.
So I stopped lol.

$10.49
I gave up first time and went for the worst (and shorter) ending. Then when I tried the second time I went for the proper final boss
friendly reminder: in 5 days there is maybe the steam sale.
specific sale or THE steam sale?
the halloween sale
I have like 15 mod projects on paper and no time to complete them before dd2
Because I dont have the same long periods alone where I can actually focus
dead cells:
TIL you can break the golden money doors to get the items without paying, the cheap ones are basically free in the early areas
Who cares about curses anyway?
just don't get hit
though for real, I'm basically incapable of playing this game cleanly unless there's a curse staring down at me
Favorite game of all time - keep at it - final boss is the best boss fight ever imo
Personally, I prefer the Boss from MGS3, but the final boss is chef's kiss
Makes me excited to see what Fromsoft pulls off with Elden Ring
i mean it's just open world dark souls
be me
playing Pokémon Let's Go for 8 hours straight
forget there's no autosave
don't save after doing 5 gyms and grinding for multiple hours
close the game
lose every bit of progress made
go back to Pokémon Showdown!
cookies got cleared for some reason and all teams are gone
die inside
game freak moment
showdown is a fan thing, game freak isnt responsible for that one 😭
sometimes i forget auto save is a thing in games bc when i save i save frequently and sometimes multiple times in succession bc i forgot i literally just saved
i either save 4 within a minute because i'm not sure if i've saved enough, or i don't save for hours and reset for something then realise
there's no in between
this reminds me how BS RDR2 autosaves were
Because of one stupid mistake of mine my first horse, Sedan, is hella dead
I mean he was the weakest horse that I purchased from the stable so I guess it was time to change
So I just got their biggest horse and named him Hatchback
And then the god damn Red Dead Depression got me after finishing the game
I have so many dead horses in RDR2
so many, in fact, that i made a google doc to keep track
including other games, i'm on 42
in just RDR2, i'm on 26
mostly trains and cliffs
yeah i did a few low honour runs
robbed a lot of trains
zanzibars 2, 7, 12, 15, 16, 20 and 21 died to a train
Zanzibar is the universal name of my horse

showdown is fun.
i wish i am better at making teams though
I wish I am better at playing Pokémon competitively in the first place
I have made two purchases for myself after a rough weekend at work
A bundle of all three Darksiders games, my favorite 7/10 franchise, on PS4, and No Straight Roads on Steam
guess who beat a certain gigantic ape in Sekiro in 3 tries 😄
I have no evidence, but trust me I beat it in 3 tries
do you guys know I play Sekiro yet? I got to ||Mibu Village|| and I hate it
mini boss after mini boss then boss then spoopy ghosts.
trains? how the f-
i won't question it
i know very little about rdr2 but i can see trains being a cause of horse death rather easily
when a train comes down my way, instead of stopping i gallop to the end of it and avoid it lmfao
you cannot put a stop to my adventure rockstar
Oh my god he finally did it
The Happy Hob finally beats the God Run 2, beating every Dark Souls game, Demons Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro consecutively without taking a single hit.
2 years took
you don't even have to be on train's way to get under it, sometimes you can get into trouble by chasing the train and missing the moment when there is no more space between railroad and environment
there are plenty of such places to the east from Valentine..
the ape took me so long 😭
i swear the only bosses i found more difficult than the ape was ||owl|| and the final boss
i'm never gonna be able to play sekiro (😔) but i can tell you right now ape would be my worst hands down
||bc i'm just too squeamish||
Also that boss is basically a completely different moveset and playstyle required than the rest of the game
I did a lot of train robberies and if the horse touches the train at all, it dies instantly
The Banished have defeated UNSC forces and taken control of the mysterious Zeta Halo, threatening the survival of humankind. When all hope is lost and humanity’s fate hangs in the balance, the Master Chief returns to confront the most ruthless foe he’s ever faced. Here’s a fresh look at the Halo Infinite campaign that introduces players to true ...
Gosh this gives me the Combat Evolved vibes once again
Except nothing will beat CE at being so mysterious and exploration focused
although I totally do not agree with the fact Infinite will be open world
Im truly sick of open world I just want open ended levels like in Halo CE or big areas like in Borderlands
And oh god Chief is talking during gameplay
Imagine he just whips out some Duke Nukem-esque one liners
I mean as long as he doesnt speak all the time
Im fine with it
Also I got a feeling this is just gonna be some far cry bs
because i saw enemy outposts
nah totally not
apparently some outpost has reinforcements
interesting
like, some mini boss gets dropped
also the grapple is kinda slow
also bruhhh they got the dash from doom eternal
so do you think there'll be a call for backup feature a la Katana Zero
where you kill the gumble who's after the miniboss
before the miniboss arrives
Ok nevermind the grapple is awesome now, you can grapple onto destroyed vehicles and such in the air
Yeah I got a feeling Halo infinite would have a very bland open world
no diff biomes sadly
from what i've seen it looks like the average blasted wasteland
yeah
Borderlands is 👌
Different areas with diverse themes and such is much much better than a simple open world
It feels more like an adventure rather than the same thing
Although I kinda have a soft spot for Rockstar open world games
the difference between the starting area of 2 and pandora is startling
(i've only played 2 and the pre sequel)
Yeah they are all nice changes
1's start was kinda dull
but I enjoyed the game for what it is
A more brutal and primitive Borderlands, it clearly depicts the dark ages of the universe very well
Speaking of which my Borderlands Legendary Collection copy might arrive tomorrow
For Switch ofc
what's on the LC
Borderlands 1, 2 and Pre-Sequel with all of the DLC's
Except Commander Lilith's Fight for Sanctuary which is pretty much excluded from every bundle
It was free at launch tho
Very nice DLC
i don't remember CLFfS
Cause it's like the newest one for 2
It was basically a DLC that sets the scene for Borderlands 3
Heh but we all know how 3 turned up
well at least I know cause I played it and was deeply disappointed
i haven't played 3
Im having more faith for Wonderlands now that Randy is busy with his shows and stuff
i've heard it's a little lacking
Well, if you're a new fan most of the things in the game wouldnt matter but for fans of the previous games
Oh boy.
Ok so basically, the loot economy is screwed because you find legendaries literally everywhere
Where as in the previous games you'd be thanking every god that has ever been conceived for that sweet sweet Rolling Thunder or Unkempt Herald
Then the story which ngl the bar was set slightly low for the Borderlands games but this is just way too bad
Then there's the difficulty, the game is wayyyy too easy on Normal mode
I literally beat every boss without getting in Fight for your life
Speaking of bosses, now they got invincibility phases which just makes it ughhhh
just sounds like the SMT3 remaster tbh
The first time I did my first vault monster, everything was so hyped, I was really pumped because the mission was really fast paced and then when the monster got it's first invincibility phase all my excitement died out
They also pulled off a Season Pass 2 BS
and the thing is it's not even that good like damn it's just skill trees and some stupid game mode that milks Axton and Salvador
The game absolutely craps all over the game's legacy, the previous vault hunters and established characters
And the first season pass which I got in the super deluxe edition (thankfully i paid 38 euro and not 100), literally only one DLC was good which was the one about Moxxi's and the casino, the atmosphere reminded me about Alien Isolation in a way
I say just skip 3 entirely and look forward to Wonderlands
Lmao borderlands 2 fight for Sanctuary bricked the game on release on switch
They even left in dev commands
50% bricked 50% were left alone with commands such as spawn 8 random guns, and kill everything in a 10 meter radius
That's the day I started playing
Fair but UH is a 10% drop from a dupe enemy in a starting area
Loot is always weird
If anything its intentional. Strong easy to get pistol.
First boss drops a decent pistol at like 10% chance
Game loot systems just tend towards looser than tighter, you know? BL1's loot system is where Legendaries are something you work towards. I got my first Firehawk in Old Haven.
God damn was Borderlands LC that bad on switch at launch?
Bought this as well, digital of course. I dropped it, I just can’t stand the open nature of the world and how bad vehicle controls are. Every quest feels like a slog when you can’t control vehicles well
I mean I played on PC only and it's just moving the mouse left and right for steering, W/S accelerate, reverse, boost etc.
I got no idea how the controls are on consoles
Yup. It was hilarious.
I ended up modding on a switch bl server over all of it
The whole community popped off and discovered every dev command
The big issue was that the game took a month to fix
And it was only free for like a month
Well, left stick up down for accelerate and braking, and right stick for left and right
People were locked out by an update even if they just bought it
If you’re used to playing racing games, this control scheme is horrendous
Vehicles in borderlands are just meant to be janky and bad
You're supposed to crash them
Then they try to do serious stuff with them and it fails
They don’t actually meant for you to just walk, right? No?
The part where you jump over the prison wall in the Knoxx dlc? That's broken on switch
No. Just get used to it for your like settlement to settlement travel
They arent perfect games
The fps change I guess makes the jumps much harder
I mean, Witcher 3, RDR2, both have horses
Yeah but those are better made movement wise
Oof
You are really meant to crash in bl
You dont really get injured
So just joyride and shoot stuff
Run over enemies if you want
They just shouldnt have tried to make it an actual mechanic that locks DLC progress
I had to grenade jump
Well, walking is fine, but then enemies respawns as well, and everything turns to a slog and repetitive after that. I guess it works because the nature of the looter shooter genre, but, ehh, I really dislike just having to kill the same things over and over again. If vehicles are fine, or fast travel is everywhere, I’m probably ok with it
Probably just a me thing though
Yeah that's just how it works
It does get boring eventually
https://www.twitch.tv/shufflefm darkest dungeon 2 stream
Before release tomorrow
Anybody else into Supermassive Games’ work? Binged through House of Ashes and Little Hope yesterday, pretty satisfying for smaller releases than Until Dawn
Only played UD personally
It's hilarious how down Rami Malek was billed given he was a Small-Timer back then
And now he's by far the most famous of them
Bit late but, I hate the first ape phase. I literally just wait for an opening.
No More Heroes 3 is just as awesome as I'd anticipated
congrats!!!
Guess who beat ||father hoot hoot, true corrupted monk and a headless|| then almost got killed by a chicken

truly
the most legendary enemy in Sekiro
from what I've heard on the winds, the true bosses of Sekiro are indeed ||the critters||
ngl tho, ||Great Shinobi Hoot Hoot|| is a fun and challenging boss. I love it a lot more than ||Gigantic Ape||
