"league bad" never heard that joke before š
i play league and i wholeheartedly agree with "league bad"
Im not gonna say about league being good or bad because im a moba biased since dota 1 hahahaha so yea
yea i heard. about the whole gender thing right?
yea they dont have the indie vibe anymore, that's for sure
But man, it's like a decade ago when riot is just a startup company doing moba and look at them now
Such an inspiration esp towards a beginner game developer like me
You dont need a huge buck to start u off, riot starts from nothing
I need to see more indie game developer that progress greatly
cough SGG cough
oh crap! hahahaha sorry! yea SGG is up there too with Riot
SGG makes me interested in Greek Mythology too!
you know what, SGG, Atlus and Riot best indie out there
well riot not an indie anymore but.. yea
sorry the one that make persona games. i think it is atlus
i mean atlus is definitely not AAA hahaha i think
maybe Atlus is like riot!
well I know which atlus you were talking about lol
there's only one atlus
but
are they??????
yea the one making persona games. That game deserves more recognition!
if atlus is AAA, that game will be heard
i think!!!
I THINK.. pls dont flame me
oh snap the persona games, those are great indie gems
idk man
persona 5 is a big hit
thought it was sarcasm or something
ok i cant tell right now hahaha
yah i feel like persona 5 pushed the series into mainstream
wait is persona 5 actually popular?
yea
like if u mention the game to someone theres a good chance they'll know the game more often than not
oh because like persona games so far, no one actually bring it up! Didnt even get a mention on E3 so i assume persona 5 isnt popular
https://atlus.com/p5r/home.html
The Phantom Thieves return in Persona 5 Royal, launching in the West in 2020!
Two years ago, the Phantom Thieves stole the hearts of millions of fans around the world. Now, theyāre getting ready to make their triumphant return in Persona 5 Royal, an enhanced release of ATLUSās acclaimed JRPG Persona 5.
In this E...
P5 is the one that got big imo
P3, P4? Barely even a soul talked about it before P5 came out. P1, P2? I think even P5 fans still donāt know these two
https://mashable.com/article/brief-history-of-persona according to the site, it said persona games is popular back in 1996!!!! wtf u guys are right! Atlus is defnitely not indie
you're right. I only got into persona games because of p5
P3 was already big enough for the fans during itās time though
so P5 actually popularised the game
ahh that's interesting haha
royal?
I'm only saying this with utmost respect
P3 was⦠pretty dark
plss dont flame me. i really dont know
Their evoker and how to use it was⦠wow lol
no I just find it funny lol
=.= hahaha sorry
oh yea it was lol
p3 you mean the story was dark? i wanna give it a try. because to me, p5 is dark alrdy. That last chapter is like avengers thanos snap going on
The themes they touched upon was dark
are you an atlus fan too?
Itās depression, which is very real
let's just say I played P3P, P4G and P5.... but only have beaten P5
wow. ok i think i should give p3 a shot now
ahh i see. Do you also got intrigued by all of their myth creatures? i really like persona because of that
If I can get a used PSP, Iāll definitely try to finish P3P lol
Makes me got intrigued about christians
because in persona 5, there's micheal, raphael etc
then i googled them, i was like "wow this is interesting lore"
Then there's metatron...
ngl, I like the designs but not to the point where I want to know more about the lore.
SMT stuffs yeah
If youāre interested in that part of the game, definitely give SMT a try as well
what? why??
just googled it, it is also persona
so im confused!!!
is it linked to persona games???
well yea
whats going on?
but the plot and style is not like persona
oh. i hope they dont tackle like persona story with all the depression things
I don't think so
extensive reading is not my thing
i see. But it sucks though that they dont have cthulu
i mean that myth creature is soo well known
i hope atlus put that creature in
future persona
I wanna say jesus too but... well obviously u guys know what will happen if they put him in
I think Cthulhu is in another region in and of itself
Lovecraftian is another beast of itās own, so to speak
good morning, what
Morning, welcome
SMT and Persona leans on the angelic and biblical, while Lovecraftian is a fear of the unknown
At least from what I understand about Lovecraft lol
we're talking about persona? ngl i've been thinking about getting p3
also for lovecraftian i heard the boss of p2 has a lovecraftian persona, but then again p2 is... quite something
||what about Futaba's persona||
this took longer to make then it should have, anyways funny chris pratt mario https://t.co/yDv25oL9sL

For the first time
I like something from IGN
Interesting but they should have expected that since they market themselves as DRM free. No blunders will be tolerated
Or apparently it was some issue? Dunno
two days until?
Outer Wilds dlc
I feel like this can be said to so many people after the last two years.... š
TWEWY 2 PC
from the local twitter:
Have completed diablo on normal with summoner druid. Everything i did was summoning wolves and opening doors. Like an alpha.
On the other hand, it's kinda embarassing to know that wolves could've completed diablo without me, if they were able to open doors.
Is that why Jacob loses in twilight?
so hopefully only one year until TWEWY 2 on Steam
Did it get postponed? I thought it was out on steam in like 2 days
Oh it's egs got it
Donāt worry guys, it will become free on EGS after 1 year
lol
And TWEWY comes tomorrow there
Along with Outer Wilds DLC and In Sound Mind which looks quite interesting (From Nightmare House 2 devs)
tim sweeney, crying heavily while throwing all triple A games at people for free: please install my game client
2024, thatās 2 and a half year away
2 and a half year left for free games
They got two very profitable sources on income. They can burn money for AA decade straight
this basically shows how competition in the pc gaming market is limited to those who already have money to burn
any smaller start ups wouldn't stand a chance and couldn't wait until 2024 to become profitable if they launched in 2019
All jokes aside though, Wiki states EGS does still competes with Steam in terms of earnings
Canāt say much about what actually earns the money
Anything in tech, really
Been like this since forever
what about mobile devs that have a huge hit?
More recent examples I can point out is how low the pricing of the Steam Deck goes vs other similar Windows handheld like the Ayaa Neo or GPD
$350 vs $750
Valve is witchcraft
Needs a start-up backing at first
Companies like Netease or Tencent have huge money backing them up from the get go
Or at least Tencent does
is apex legends dead or sumn
i was sitting in matchmaking for a solid 20 mins
nothing at all
sadly yeah š¦ guess it's just the zillionth example of it
i don't have a whole lot of knowledge on businesses and how they're ran, considering i never really had education in it (different studies and all that), so my general knowledge of it is "things are skewed a lot"
The tech scene nowadays can be thought of as already matured, in a sense that people already figured out what works and what doesnāt
Thereās less experimenting now and more āmoving on with the planā
true, i feel like there's less innovation the longer tech companies go on
i mean i get the whole "don't fix what isn't broken" but i feel like the whole "capitalism breeds innovation" doesn't go for when there's little to no competition for facebook/twitter/google etc., bc why would you have to innovate if there's nowhere else for your users to go?
i think it's the main reason why tumblr still has an active userbase despite all their odd design choices and updates, flimsy coding, a staff/customer service that never replies apart from automatic do not replies saying your email has been received (only to never get a reply) and numerous bugs that have plagued the website for years...there's no alternative to the type of experience they offer
Hello ā¤ļø
Hi there
Well these are game stores. It's 2 different fields of competitions.
I generally disagree with the whole no innovation nowadays vibe tbh.
Plenty of experimenting are going around if you look.
Cross platform games are making great strides.
DLSS and other super sampling tech is making games looking a lot better with less resources.
Game streaming I think is a legitimate innovation, as long as we can solve the latency issue.
VR stuff could be great in the near future.
Under screen cameras, under screen finger print censors, automatic facial recognition for instant logins (yeah it raises some privacy issues but that's innovation nonetheless), etc.
Hell, the existence of Discord itself is an innovation.
And if you think there is no competition in the tech scene and once a company is king, they can't die, then let me introduce you to the graveyard that is MSN, Skype, SEGA, Konami, Kodak, and many, many more.
Its less witchcraft and more that Valves device is a lot lower in power
And they're still dumping the price to compete
Eeeeeey Unno. Excited for Outer Wilds tomorrow?
I know I am
To be able to experience again for the first time secrets on that Solar system
What I meant by what Iām saying was, tech companies nowadays are playing it safe. They already know what will work and what wonāt, so they donāt take risks anymore. Most of the stuffs we see nowadays are safe incremental improvements rather than the market changers of the 2000s. We donāt see that kind of market changer anymore, since the tech industry knows where it wants to go today, compared to how it was 20-30 years ago
And regarding tech companies and competition, yeah, I donāt see the techās big 3 (Google, Apple, Amazon) going down anytime soon, not in 20-30 years. Valve and Epic? Same story. These companies are giants, both in size and influence, and theyāre are much bigger than every single one of the dead companies mentioned
There is a prompt to make the Echoes of the Eye less scary
After the Anglerfish didn't have it I fear whay they are throwing to us NOW lmao
relating to tge genetics topic
have any of you played niche? and is it good at all?
i've been sorta following it and it seems really interesting
God, Echoes went to non- creepy to creepy to non-creepy on record time
Sorry I didn't look in this chat for a bit
You could say so, given that Im playing Echoes of the Eye right now
Not very far yet though
However, I am going to take a shot in the dark guess already
||The third people are who created the interloper||
I think is going that way yes
I started suspecting when I saw ||Ghost Matter inside the ring when it has no business there||
Gotta say the setup for ||the Ring|| was wonderful
I was getting goosebumps when I saw the ||The Shadow over the Sun||
Mmh
It's not just that ||ghost matter is inside||
||It's that its in only a few specific locations where the artifacts are||
Btw, there is one detail Im wondering if youve spotted
||You don't get the normal death loop animation. You instead actaully get looped back a few seconds early||
Now you say it you are right ||Although I think is just so people can see better the explosion of the canon and is unrelated to the DLC||
I'll have to check
Ok I checked
It's only in that area
In the normal area, you get the normal animation
And I also figured out why
||By the time the sun goes supernova, the stranger is 90 kilometers away||
an emulator specialists here? I know there is an emulator that lets you play ssb online. thats pretty awesome. my question is, are there emulators that let you run ps1 games online? I really wanna play some soul blade against people online
I looked it up on Google and I got something called ePSXe
I'm not an expert though
wuuut ive used that back in the day, but it was strictly an emulator. didnt offer any sort of netplay. but i guess that was many years ago, ill look into it
So, I think I got to the spooky part, @wraith cradle
That ||One of those things is still alive, there is a chamber with lacks a corpse||
Ok
Unless youre stuck and need a hint
I'm doing a last cycle and going to bed
Gotta college tomorrow
I wanna try something before I forget it
What do you want to try?
good luck!
Wanted to see if the ||Hidden Gorge|| is easier to reach after the ||Dam breaks||
Oh its unrelated to your idea
I was checking something else out
You'll see soon enough
Well I actually managed to advance in this cycle
I reached the other side of the ||Rotted bridge and now I'm in a church with a mechanism that needs a password with 5 symbols||
Wait, how did you get there
I haven't managed that yet
Did you cheese it, or intended path?
Lmao I thought it was inaccessible
Ok, now I'm stuck
What are your rumours on your ship log?
brb gonna kill myself
Ok, done, let me check the Logs
(Also gonna visit Gabbo for the Meditation)
The former
Ok, ty
Gl
Actually, I had a thought
There is a thing that could work
Yknow what i wonder?
Are we gonna get the ||translation unlocked for their language?||
based
If the ||Translation exists|| I have yet to find it
Same
I have figured out a couple more things
But also disproven a hypothesis I had
||Clearly we're not looping normally, and I noticed 2 of the flames in the hidden rooms go out, so I thought the third is when you die. Turns out, the third never goes out||
||So something in the ship is screwing over with the loop||
||Define killing us||
Also did you know if you stick a drone into the ||Dam|| you can check when is gonna break?
||Well, literally that. I think whatever happens to us is lethal. ALso, no, I didnt actually||
Anyway, I might be getting close-ish to the end?
uh bideo gem
does anyone play/played DR2 (daganronpa)
i feel like that game was a waste of my money
You mean V3?
yeah it does
Ok now I got the really spooky part of Echoes of the Eye
I tried ||the lamp thing, the fire exploded and I said screw it, I'll continue tomorrow||
||Did you check all 3 chambers in the breached hull?||
You mean ||the two flashback thingies||
Yeah that too and I did what they did ||Took the artifact to the tombs with the fire and napped when I woke up the fire exloded killing me||
||You saw them test 3 designs. One didn't do anything. One was on reel with a lot of burning. The third worked||
||You snagged the wrong type of artifact||
Okay so I noticed people been talking about Outer Wilds and I was thinking if I should get it alongside the DLC. But I am not exactly sure considering I know I have problems solving puzzles at times, but I know it's best recommend to go into this game blind, so would like to ask. How doable are the puzzles without outside help? Because I think this is only thing I wanna consider before jumping in.
why is everyone talking in spoiler tags
Outer Wilds DLC is out hence why
so disappointed with deathloop
running it with a pretty beefy rig and the performance isn't impressive. Also, it crashes so much.
Yeah that's sadly a factor considering it runs with Denuvo which is known to lower performance.
yeah I heard it runs pretty poorly on PC, even for people with really good specs
and that's why people streaming it who had one got it on PS5
though this isn't the first time this has happened, idk if it's a Bethesda thing or an Arkane thing, but Dishonored 2 (the studio's previous title) also had very poor PC performance
It's mostly a Bethesda thing, since they ask Arkane to use Denuvo on each new release I think.
Denuvo is anti-piracy software right? I've heard it tanks performance on a lot of titles
I'm not too knowledgeable on PC gaming and anti-piracy software, how is it possible that a single program can tank an entire game's performance? (as in, how is it possible that they haven't adjusted the anti-piracy software in such a way that Denuvo DOESN'T ruin the game's experience)
and with they I mean Denuvo themselves (considering I doubt that the devs can change anything in programs they didn't make themselves)
Denuvo basically works in a way no one knows for sure, but the people behind it and when it's implemented developers of the game have to tie it in with their own code, so it's not basic installment modification to the game, but rather it getting a tie in with the code of the game. And it operates differently on each specs so you can't exactly use different specs, so people trying to crack the protection to make the game piretabls can't do it as fast as they usually do. With it also the outcome before someone does crack a code varies with each video game too that has Denuvo. It's basically to prevent first days of sale to also have pirated versions out already, but then also usually it can stay for a bit too long for sake of protection, which makes performance of legitimate copies worse, while pirated versions are unaffected by it by the time code is cracked.
I honestly never understood keeping Denuvo for a long while in games once the code is cracked. Since what it basically means is that in such case legitimate copies perform way worse while pirates don't have to bother with such.
Outside of a small few that are a little obtuse
Very doable
For most things, you find hints giving you the basic idea of the approach, or you can figure it out yourself
The hard part is thinking outside the box
Alrighty! In short, I got in the end. Shall try it out soon. And noted for the platforming part!
Yeah there's really on one thing in the base game that's really unclear even after being tweaked
I reached the dark parts, managed to get some clues, got lost, more clues, got lost and got bored
Didn't see the Loop retreating that much as you said tho
Wdym?
I also finished it
||The thing you said about the loop starting earlier||
Outer Wilds spoilers. ||Damn the blackhole in Brittle Hollow sure kicks my butt, i am never prepared for its gravity pull.||
I love when I accidentally ||enter in an Stable Orbit around it and just hopelessly yeet myself around the Planet||
||Oh that. It's most visible if you look towards the sun as it ends||
||The blue wave doesn't come close to you, but you already get looped.||
i haven't played outer wilds myself (though i've watched some co-commentary playthroughs of it) but i adore the ost
That happened in the base game too
||The Loop is gonna reset with or without your death||
||It's just that when it ends the Stranger is so far from the Loop that when the sun goes Nova the Stranger is outside its danger zone, that could happen in the base game too but you had no reason to go that far back then as all planets are consumed by the Nova||
i must admit i literally only just found out the dlc even exists though so [scuttles off to look for info]
It released Yesterday but it was known for months, people were wary but excited
As it felt the game was a complete experience already
Anyhow Anyone here played Kena?
It has some Pixar Level cutscenes
It's unreal
it looks great (no PS5 for me yet)
This game has some heavy themes.
But I like what the interactive medium is trying to comment on.
The heavy themes, were purposeful.
I know some people who are like the alligator, who are just comfortable with their lives, and stuff.
I believe that the creators did the "write what you know" technique.
and they wrote about their own experience of wanting to become a [big shot].
I love the interactive medium, 9/10.
Ohhh
I had no idea
You should play it
Its really good
And yes, the OST is amazing
MADNESS: Project Nexus is a third-person Run n' Gun-slash-Beat'Em Up filled with arcade-style action and button-mashing brutality. Train your custom Madness combatant for the endless trials of Arena Mode, building weapons from your own sick imagination to get through just one more wave of deranged assailants. it out
I know the soundtrack was done by Theophany, with collaboration from Cudamani Gamelan
This one ^
That hits close to home, my country is practically neighbors with Indonesia
as an Indonesian, I can't take that name seriously
Your name? Cudamani? Theophany?
Kena
Oh lol
Well, in Malay, kena does means something lol
Not something epic, just a usual word lol
What does it mean?
No specific meaning, itās just a sentence builder I guess. āKena pukulā is āgot hitā, āpukulā is hit, ākenaā doesnāt really mean āgotā but it means that in that particular phrase
Different meanings in different contexts
Oh lol
now put it next to the full title
Kena: Bridge of Spirits
"Got hit by bride of spirits"
vidia geims names already got pretty generic recently as they are
like there is a pool of words from whcih authors pick several and make into a name
Evertytime a game comes with the subtitle Retribution, take a shot
already being tried with "dark" "darkness" "shadow" "dead" "death" and stuff
thankfully the biggest SGG title is not "Death Kingdom" or something
even if it could've been
Well their game titles are to the point and self explanatory.
Bastion: you're building a bastion
Transistor: you're carrying a huge transistor.
Hades: Daddy Issues
Pyre: Escaping Quarantine
I think Im noticing a trend with new nintendo open world games
MH Rise, Kirby and forgotten land and the Pokemon Arceus game all seem to have that abandoned empty world thing they're going for
I genuinely begin to think it's going to become a trope for the Switch
Because of course empty world doesnt make the game unplayable
Well not exactly open world but open spaces
The grass textures do kinda look samey š³
okay I started Kena: Bridge of Spirits
I must say
the production quality is a lot higher than I anticipated
Also
After digging around in google
The dev actually made the majora's mask fan animation
So I was like ooooooh
No wonder
That explains a LOT
Quick question: Anyone here played a game called 'Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk' to give me their opinion? It looks like Etrian Odyssey and that interests me
Outer Wilds spoilers. ||Had a proper loop where I got to explore more in depth in Brittle Hollow. What a run of emotions of fearing when the loop ends while you read the contextual information.||
||Had a first scare, and it was a damn meteoroid from the volcano moon hitting to close near me.
||
||This game doesn't pull punches. The freaking unstable stairs on this planet are a death trap.||
I always confused Outer Wilds with Outer Worlds
Both are games people talked a lot as well
yea, same
The trick is that Outer Wilds doesn't have a 'The' behind
It's The Outer Worlds
Fun fact: Outer Wilds original name was 'Spaceworthy'
out there
there's a world outside of Yonkers
Way out there beyond this hick town, Barnaby
Damn, The Eternal Cylindre just came out
That weird af game
Front of the Cylinder: Cute animals and vibrant Flora that makes it look like NMS
Behind the Cylinder: ||Eldritch abominations that looks straight out of Lovecraft or Warhammer 40k||
lol
Hopefully they learned for TOW2
i bought outer worlds accidentally because I thought it was outer wilds
and then i couldn't return it because i didn't install or realize it until after the window closed
still haven't played it
The Outer Worlds is for sure a game that exists.
anyone know a good high refresh monitor that is not outrageously expensive?
I think that of all games that exist, Days Gone exists the most
Cause I can't say anything more that 'It exist' about it
what's your budget and what resolution are you targetting?

i think most AAA can be done at high/maxed for 1080p
which ill take over the <60fps 1440p
I still play at 1080p
most people still play at 1080p, 1440p is becoming more popular tho
i think my next increment upgrade would be 1440p
but for now
did i tell you i retired my 8 yo gaming laptop?

What does āfinishing a gameā means to you guys? Finishing story mode? 100% everything thatās unlockable, even cosmetics? Perfect save playthrough ala FFVII every item x99 saves?
And how many of you guys finish your games, according to your answer to question above?
most of the times, finishing story. If there are endgame contents, 99% of the time I don't bother. Which is why I hate games with true ending. There are only 2 games that I 100% everything, Hades and Turnip Boy.
However games like Monster Hunter are types that I will pour my heart and soul for the grind.
as for how many games I've finished

I guess the way to put it is I haven't finished every single game in my library
but generally, 80% of the games I've played, I've finished
There are 3 types of game experience for me
- Games that I'm absolutely obsessed with for 2 weeks and beat it in that 2 weeks.
- Games that I love playing but drop due to reasons. Then months, years later I come back and finish it. I had that experience a bunch of times.
- Games that I play and noped out of.
Outer Wilds is on number 3 category
Borderlands did that to me recently, all 3 titles on the Switch (1, 2, Pre-Sequel). The gunplay was nice, but the grind was just not enjoyable to me. You kinda canāt see the end of the grind, unlike in other grindy games Iāve played like Witcher 3 or Diablo 3, where you know whatās the end is going to looks like (Witcher 3, an empty map, no more ? icons, Diablo 3, all equipments on highest perfect rarity)
Vehicle controls were not nice either, which means I walked most of the time rather than using vehicles and walking all the time is pain
I donāt think Iāll be finishing all 3 Borderlands anytime soon
The need to just finish the quests and story was there, thatās a sense of accomplishment/āfinishedā I can get in on, but the way through it was meh
finishing means basically "reach the end of the game", and end is when credits are shown
and there is a title "the end"
finishing a game for me means see every ending that is possible, and so it counts less than a half
there are many games i was already done with to try another walkthrough, and i was like "ok, maybe some other time", and that other time comes several years later at best
there are games that has no particular ending, like sandbox games, so you can see the "ending", unlocking everything and stuff, but you can still play, so..
and there are also games you don't want to finish bc that will mean you'll have to say farewell to the world you've been into for a while, and it will hurt, so you try to delay finishing it and eventually stop before the final chapter
to think of it, most games i've truly finished, were ran through in a day or two
and there are also games that you bought and promised yourself to play, but never started, so they don't count as well
i define finishing a game as "100%". all achievements, or what would define as achievements if the game has none.
the air quotes is because some things i'm just Not Skilled Enough to get or getting them would probably legally classify you as insane (like the path of pain and land of storms in HK, or crown farming in MHGU)
with that in mind i've completed 0? games? i'm a bastard who gets distracted easily and i have a fondness for games with stupidly hard achievements
finishing a game to me means completing the story, having seen everything, but not necessarily done everything. doing everything there is is 100%ing it
there is like, a difference between finishing and completing
I played deaths gambit before afterlife and put a little bit of time into afterlife yesterday and it is a very different game the combat feels really good
But I'm not far enough to say how good it is yet
there literally isn't
finishing is like, getting from start to finish
completing is walking through every corner and every door to see everything and walk everywhere
yea I don't 100% games. I have better things to do than frustratingly trying to being a boss I didn't grind before hand
I used to complete games but now I just finish them
Which I consider just hitting credits and then whenever I get bored after that
have you guys done a 1 hour long fight/gameplay on a section in games
I'll start
Adamantoise in FFXV
it took me 4 hours to beat it
cause I didn't use ring of lucis
was only level 73
didn't eat
and just hammering it away with ultima weapon
my bro went to gym, came back, cook dinner, did his work and I still wasn't done
most of the dark souls 1 bosses fit under criteria
I mean the game's supposed to be challenging so kek
however what I meant was not spending over an hour or more trying to beat the boss or whatever, but the fight took you over an hour or more
unless there's that in dark souls
idk I don't play daak sulz
I never lingered in a game that much
Literally the hardest bossfight I ever had was in Borderlands 2, BUNK3R
And I didn't know about B0RE spots
Or Saturn in the same game
Ngl most bossfights I had there were quite hard
Meanwhile in BL3 they were piss easy
there's an annoying one
the uh
robot driven by penn and teller
which the game calls them Pain and Terror
kazdan paratus (i think that's how it's spelled), the insane jedi on the trash planet in force unleashed
but that wasn't long either, just difficult and lots of tries
pmd1 rayquaza took me a whole replay of the game to beat
Ey the To The Moon people released a new game
Anyone play hunt showdown
The amount of hours I put into beating Sword Saint Isshin in Sekiro for the first time were something else
Hm
I'm trying to think of ones that actually take an hour and not an hour including deaths and retries
One of the XCOM finale missions maybe?
Finish the main story. 100%ing it is completing the game
the bad boy in me wants to get a game. but I have so much work to do this weekend š¦
Brutally murdering robbers in RDR2 sure is fun
Machete and tomahawks are just chef's kiss
I loved the early meme of everybody just destroying the KKK in that game
and then some morons online got offended or overly sensitive/defensive of the KKK, lol
kotaku comments can be hilarious
Damn I just realised how much Im missing out
||After finding out about Arthur's TB||, it incentivised me to try doing more good and doing more sidequests
Right now I am ||confronting Leopold about the debts. I feel bad for doing the debt things. It's even the damn reason Arthur got TB. It could have been avoided.||
Anyways next sidequest is probably with Penelope and Beau or trying to find the killer sidequest
Anyways Im also gonna try finding the funny ghost guys as well
Yeah, finishing the game is just getting to credits, which is usually just mean beating the final boss and credits rolls. Completing is 100%, which usually means getting all the achievements, and for certain games/communities, all items as well, both miss-ables and literally every chests @dire condor
Usually means, nothing left to be done
Are you telling me I can Finish New Vegas in 5 seconds?

idk about you but to me "did you finish the game?" and "did you complete the game?" mean exactly the same thing
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1397390/The_BreakIn/
This one looks incredibly cool lol
The Break-In is a 1-4 player, VR and non VR, co-op burglary game about sneaking in, taking everything, and then sneaking out. Infiltrate houses, bank vaults and museums to earn money and upgrade your thief gear. Take on special contracts to extract high-value items from dangerous locations and go from petty burglar to high-tech agent of stealth....
Soon
RDR2 gave me the lesson that you can only do good things the most only when you find out you'l die soon.
this is what I picked for demos of this festival
But do recommend people to check out Inscryption too, since it has demo there too!
Well, if hitting credits in the main menu transports you straight to final boss, then game is pretty speedrun ready!
Well, I guess people have different opinions
Remember when the french wanted to make digital games tradeable
is that still happening
You mean, like NFTs?
isn't Lindsay Lohan selling her fursona as an NFT
or did i dream that up last night
Nah like tradeable just like physical discs
Steam's borrow feature is the closest we got but someone has to log on the same computer so yeah
I like doing it when someone is over
Tatz posted about it on gen chat
Isnāt this just family sharing?
Yea lol
Not exactly trade-able in my mind
Well only when someone is over
Well not exactly trading
But just installing someone else's license and playing it on your own account
Just kinda like sharing Netflix logins lol
Not Tonight 2 has a demo too
Is this what youāre talking about?
That never evolved didnt it
It's the Australian consumer rights policy on steroids
Sounds cool, itās really is just like NFTs then
while you can refund under 2 hours of playtime, and 1 week of owning it
here you can just sell it when you dont need it anymore
Iād imagine itās just the Steam keys or CDkeys thatās being traded
I wish there would he an option to give it back to the dev lmao and getting your money back
That wouldnt make sense wouldnt it
Thatās essentially refunding the game
yeah but over an extended period of time
So, GameStop? Trading it back to the store?
No idea we dont have game stores here
I doubt the money will be charged back to the dev, no dev wants to do that I think. It would be charged on the store
Oh right yes
And I doubt youāll be getting back 100% of the money you spent when buying the game initially
This is how GameStop is. And you donāt get real money back, you just get sort of a voucher to spend back on GameStop
Ewwwww thank lord we dont have game stores then
We just buy games at electronics store that also sell TV's and fridges and any electronics so it's all centralised basically
GameStop has been doing this since forever, but of course, GameStop is kinda dead (while not being entirely dead), and it works easy on physical games only, since you owned physical games
Digital games is, really just a license to own the Steam keys
You know, trading Steam keys around doesnāt sound too crazy
Yeah the only problem is that those work as being traded only if they arent redeemed
aka the key reseller thing going on
ngl it helped me get Arma 3 DLC easier kekw
Well, what the French gov wants is for these keys to be trade-able with money even after being redeemed
That doesnāt sounds too crazy
i've personally always found video game stores more expensive than regular electronics stores
at least, in this country they're usually around 5-10 euros a pop more expensive at a gamestop-esque store than when i'd buy a copy through an online shop
Of course, someone has to do the maths on whether it is fine to do or just makes the store lose money, which probably means Steam wonāt do it ever
Brick and mortar stores here is the same as well, always 5-10 dollars more expensive than online e-shop or an online store like Amazon or something
Even when our version of Amazon here is also selling the same physical copies as the brick and mortar stores
tbh, virtual license for games was already unusual thing, it's just something we got used to
but it can be reclaimed and taken away by right owners at any time
forbidden, erased, deleted from existence
something that won't happen with a disc
allowing people to trade something they don't really own is an.. interesting concept to say the least
i wonder how it will be developed and implemented
I thought it was less than 3 hours but that's just semantics
I recently finished first Bayonetta
in normal mode
I like it a lot more than Bayonetta 2 in terms of gameplay
I died a lot to minions, but when it comes to bosses I don't find them hard
prob cause it's easier to target one enemy rather than juggling multiple
WHAT DID I JUST WATCH?????????? https://t.co/nEdAzwfD40

that clip is real lmao
EVEN WHEN HE PLAYS THE SONG ON HIS PHONE?
yes!

it gets better
he has airpods
but he chooses to blast it on the phone speaker
i need this game now
ignoring the data privacy stuff does anyone recommend getting the oculus quest 2?
dont have a pc, so if i get into vr it looks like the only option
it's a very competent system and do recommend it if you have a lowpowered pc and want to experience vr, games are usually kinda short which is my only gripe but all and all it is good
rec room is free and has lots of content due to fanmade stuff so that's a good starting point for vr imo
thanks
ofc
based on specs alone, yes the oculus quest 2 is by far the cheapest decent standalone vr headset money can buy
I personally however cannot get passed the forced fb account in order to use the thing
If In the TGA Stranger Of Paradise doesn't win both Best Character and Best Writing I'm rioting
Nah, mate. They're gonna award Ellie for best character again.
Wait what, new awards shows?
ah nvm The Game Awards
yeah literally just a publicity show where publishers pay to get their games called GOTY
dare I say auction
I like the 2D aspect, weapon drops can feel a bit rng though I only played an hour so far and got past the first biome of sorts
Congrats
I've won
yes
but at what cost?
However much time you put into trying it?
there was this tablet rhythm game stage that me and my friend only passed by each taking care of half the notes
I did that with a friend once
for funsies
it wasn't on hard song
the score was worse
Why are early 2010's games so comfy
Red Dead 1, Borderlands 2, Lollipop Chainsaw, Dead Rising 2, all those great Telltale games...
Funny enough I haven't played any of those besides BL2
I surely am missing a lot out
Oh yes the last of us as well but I dont have the possibility to play it
BL2 was one my most played Single Player games (I never even touched Co-Op)
I loved every second of it
Yeah same. Except I was bullied into playing it with a friend
Well turns out me and that guy became best friends.
And also had a lot of fun with it
It was annoying? Yes. Was it unfunny? Yes. Did I enjoy it? Absolutely
But I do think in BL3 the unfunny and annoying aspects are too much even for me
Im still coping with the bad story choices there that I just consider it non canon
I disagree that BL2 was unfunny
It had just the right amount of corny imo
BL3 was trash
Another thing I disliked was the boss invincibility phases
And how easy they were but they used this cheap trick to make it harder or something
I played on normal and they were super easy compared to normal BL2
Oh ye it was creative
the problem is they hyped the game to have lots of bossfights
what a shame almost none of them were any good
also no raid bosses which breaks my heart
The story was what put me off too much
The twins were breaking my annoyance limit every time they appeared
I like how it made people appreciate the pre sequel more
I always liked it but I can get why people disliked it
I do think of it as more of an expansion like in the old days
i never played the third entry but i feel like i didn't miss much
i got enough story spoilers to not play the game at all
not bc it became not interesting, it's bc those plot twists seem wrong to me
even some of bl2 and blps were debatable, but at least tolerable
wrong? totally
Im worried about Wonderlands but oh well it might be fun
It looks more Borderlands 2, and it has 2's Tina which is great
it seem very similar to one of bl2 dlcs, so it actually might be ok
like, nothing is too canon and stuff
indeed
also modding BL2 is unstable af but boy is it fun when you pull it off
the randomizers are just glorious
Outer Wilds. ||I am bit stuck with what I can find on Brittle Hollow and I am bit dumb founded about it, died 10 times already with no progress what so ever so like I think I may need pointers to what I can find in The Hanging City or Old Settlement to help myself out. Or at least I am doing so since it says there is more, but I keep dying trying to random things falling or a house falling while I am in it. Should I try and focus on other things otherwise?||
Yeah if you feel stuck just go to a different Planet
Sometimes the clues lie in different Planets
||Got into observatory
||
Outer Wilds ||MAN after figuring out I could just go to Tower of Quantum Knowledge such way at the end of the loop was insane.||
||You can also ram your ship against it||
||Tried to, but my ship got stuck in it lol.||
||Think I explored Brittle Hollow and the station connected to it quite a bit, time to move on to other stuff and maybe see if what I find there.||
||Just experienced the sand death. The visor cracking was a painful to hear.||
finally beat jevil
nice
well the game does get kinda tedious towards the end
the fun parts become less fun and the boring parts become more boring
getting forced into a shootout after following someone on your horse for 7 minutes does start to lose its appeal after the 50th time
Well, it is era-accurate
read that's a common criticism of this game, things take too long for the sake of realism?
yeah, and the long horse rides are also often for exposition
my main problem isn't even how long things are, it's how the realism and immersion is immediately thrown out the window in story missions because the game forces you down a specific path, gameplay wise you make almost no decisions in any mission. it's always shooting and sometimes sneaking, but you can never decide between the two
RDR2 is not a game for when you have 2 hours to spare. It's a game for when it's saturday afternoon and you have 10 hours to sink.
I agree lmao
I mean I was used to GTA V and IV because you do the same thing, riding for exposition, but in cars
That's kinda the Rockstar trademark, they have been doing it for years
Dunno what people expected from this as well
I do agree the horse rides and such make the most playtime but I did enjoy it
I cant wait to see how GTA VI would be like if RDR2 was this good
indeed. both games are nice even without storyline, you're just chilling in the world that lives on its own
The problem with GTAV was how short the story was
I mean it was great but it's clear they planned for expansions but never made it out
Also the world was kind of stale and the same random encounters kept happening
Wish there would have been more robberies and such, that was a welcomed aspect in RDR2
But I cant ask too much from a 2013 game. Funnily enough it still holds up
most people i know, when they were done with story in both titles, switched to online
Yeah I did the same
as rockstars themselves
I just farm cayo perico now
With my friends
I basically play it and treat it as an uhhhh
Car collection simulator
You'd be surprised how great the car collecting aspect is, I play just for that
indeed. and you can get different collections of different themes
Lmao Uncle really did roast every man of few words western protagonists
Yeah so basically for me it's a tuners wet dream, I cant wait to get back into GTAO once Im finished with RDR2
Since RDO doesnt sound that good
we with my friend on the contrary, didn't do much in GTAO, since there is not much to do in the world itself, if you don't want to do missions
at least you can collect something, but still you need money for that
so we come back to the game each new free million
well yeah that's why cayo perico exists lmao
I just go with a maxxed out friend and he gives me all of the heist's cut
while in RDO we just can travel from one place to another, collecting things, hunting making pics of animals, and just.. screenshooting
nature is something in the game
also horses are not less interesting than cars, each are different
fair enough
also i hope the cars in GTA VI will have those infotainment systems and such
also customization options like for those cars in the LS Tuners update
I loved that update
yep, there were a lot
ability to make a total conversion of a vehicle to something completely new is very much welcomed
also, you know what sometimes we miss in GTAO? ability to whistle and make your car drive up to you
after RDO a habit hard to get rid of
even though quite possible in a modern world of GTA, where cars fly and stuff
yeah true
Also I doubt GTA VI will be as whacky as GTAO
Story modes are always grounded in Rockstar games
but yes pressing H to call your car would be great even if that doesnt exist in real life
just QOL changes
And imagine the stuff you could do in the game with today's tech
I assure you drones will be totally in there
imo tho, driving a car in gta 5 is more fun than riding a horse in rdr2. at least when you're forced to do it a lot
"forced" is a word that comes up a lot with rockstar games actually
there's just this glaring discrepancy between the freedom you have outside of missions and the narrow pathway you have to follow during missions
and i feel like it got worse in rdr2

This new Metroidvania looks nice
Six years ago, the Machine Legion invaded and colonized the Torch City, which was originally inhabited by animals. Rayton, the former soldier in the resistance war, has been living in seclusion since then. After his friend is forcibly arrested, Rayton reclaims his mechanical fist and steps to his journey fighting back. And he never expects that ...

Outer Wilds spoilers. ||Exploring Ember Twin, wish I could wait out the sand to fill out the pit in that one part. Waiting for it can sure be a bit too much lol.||
@junior crown Rest in a campfire to let time pass quickly
wait there is a campfire nearby that place?
The closest campfire is Chett's
Lmao steam next fest is wild
me first-trying the 1st boss of dead cells: hmm this game seems too easy..
*proceeds to get bodied by generics in the very next area
welp there we go
dead cells will generally body you the moment you get too comfortable and humble you real quick, yeah
Outer Wilds, not really a spoiler just to be safe. I know how to park (yes it stayed liked that and didn't budge from the place). ||https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/583419755608801312/894277885697880114/park.jpg||
only a few of the western games reached us here in the east.
so much fun.
I hope they do not make a Max Payne 4 game.
If they plan on doing so, I hope its a good one.
They really are quite reminiscent of the Matrix and some movies we have here.
Outer Wilds ||Read about the rock. "wow rock teleports!", turn around. Rock gone. I for some reason panicky gasp, lost for words of gone rock.||
||Got into Giant's Deep shipless on my first visit. Was stressful knowing there are possibly fish.
||
||Giant's deep is ironically probably the safest and most chill planet ||
||Gabbo is now my favourite Space Explorer. Talked to them and got to see them play their funny tunes while we were sent into space. funniest thing ever. ||
||Remember to visit Gabbo several cycles to get new dialogue that can benefit you||
Iām guessing the Golems in Slumbering Sanctuary?
||GABBO. Meditation isn't the answer here. ||
Believe it is
That mechanic is super useful
ooh wait did I just learn it then? oh neat.
Yes now you don't need to kill yourself to end a loop
nice!
Outer Wilds. ||Got into Statue's Island workshop area the intended way. By making the island get caught in the typhoon and then flying into the hole mid space, breaking every part of my ship, yet still getting in. ||
You can get diving just fine tho
Yeah, but it's not as fun such way. What low gravity taught me on other planets is that I must boost to my objective no matter the speed I will crash at it.
something in the Stilt Village, can't remember except they all mobbed me at once
As much as I like Metroidvanias, I'm not going to get F.I.S.T. since it's made by a Chinese company, which means the CCP gets money from their sales, as well as possible information they collect.
american companies also collect an awful lot of information
My reasoning was more towards not wanting to fund active crimes against humanity.
Add Choo-Choo Charles to your Steam wishlist now! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1766740/ChooChoo_Charles/
Choo-Choo Charles is a survival horror, open world, shooter game. Navigate an island in an old train, upgrade it over time, and use it to fight an evil sentient train that terrorizes your home. Charles is hungry; don't be his next mea...
What if Thomas the Tank engine wasn't as scary?
*wasn't scary enough
that's just Emil from Nier with some blood makeup
Hope youāre not using a smartphone
I was gonna say any tax money you spend on literally any purchase goes towards active crimes against humanity lmao
Yeah, one way or another, we can always connect the dots to something
Something something ethical consumption
I just say play something if it looks like you'd enjoy it lmao cause if you try to justify not wanting to buy something people will always say that no matter what you're still doing that thing cause people online are phallic in nature
but also something something do what you can so long as it's not hurtful
but also something something most games are owned by tencent in some way
When I saw how people not wanting to have anything to do with the CCP, I always question whether itās really is for a noble cause, or just blind, habitual racism
Because you really donāt want to have anything to do with the Chinese, hoo boy, how the money runs deep. And also, crimes against humanity isnāt just happening in China alone, look at the mines in Africa and South Africa, or really just Amazon
One I saw was people complaining that china used slave labor (which is bad) by saying that america would never
but uh
video games
I'm enjoying the deaths gambit overhaul
its pretty fun but all my knowledge of the game is null and void which is actually kinda fun
if i'd like to stop funding active crimes against humanity, i should stop pay taxes first
The latest is in the Blizzard Activision news that popped up recently
Workplace sexual harassment. Suicide reports
the i spy games slap
I need to read some I Spy or something sometime
oh boy, wait till you find out about the cia
Outer Wilds DLC is everything I wanted it to be and more
Outer Wilds. ||Genuinely confused how i must get into that one quantum arc on Giant's Deep. Can anybody give a clue? tried putting a scout on it, but seem to not work since when I approach it disappears. ||
nvm
i'm dying for outer wilds for the switch
Oh huh, I thought that was already out
Probably trying to figure out how to make it not roast the Switch alive tbh
that's my worry. i have a ps4, mac⦠but the switch is just my ideal gaming console cuz i can sleep/pause in the middle of anything and bring it with me around the house
it was supposed to be released earlier this year but got bumped to late 2021ā¦Ā probably a combination of DLC+replatforming issues
anyone playing eastward?
quick question. Was Dark Bramble added in for the DLC?
honestly currently only my only clue is to check it out and I am unsure if I will head straight to separate thing.
Outer Wilds. ||I GOT ONTO THE MOON.||
Just finished RDR2 Epilogue
Finally some damn closure
And 22k dollars
Time for mods
It was not
saw zagreus trending on twitter and a lot of them are about him being in smash š¹ i can only hope right šš
Don't know if this is the forum for it, but does anyone know of online games with a decent playerbase?
What will we do if itās really him though
I will do nothing.... cause I don't have smash
My gut feeling right now is āpeople who like Zag in Smash:people who doesnātā ratio is going to be 2:1
What other character is high on the prediction list right now?
I'm currently playing Forza Horizon 4 and when it comes to amount of players it is quite decent, I'd say (that could change when FH5 comes out, as most of the players might migrate there). I'm in the UK timezone (GMT+1) and usually don't have a problem with finding someone to play (the matchmaking is mostly random though anyway). The loading times are veeeery long at times, unfortunately (my internet is fast, but I suspect it sometimes slows down without apparent reason, so it might be that?). Now, if by "decent" you meant behaviour, then there's some ramming and you can sometimes be pushed and miss your checkpoint, but you still get some cash and influence even if you finish last, so you can progress further, so I don't see that as that big of a deal. Not sure how it looks in ranked and if you could loose points by being last, as I just started playing there. But overall - if you like racing games and want to play online, you should have a decent amount of fun.
Decent in size was what I meant, but thanks for the recommendation, though I'm not into racing games
Apex Legends still have a nice community last time I checked
Warframe is always a big time sink as well
5 minutes til the internet explodes in joy or anger
I personally want the smash last character to be someone literally no one wants
cause it'd be funny
darn people are gonna be happy lmao
It looked like they were gonna present the Ashen One lmao
With the flame and all that
That face is cursed
I am happy about them but I also really wanted it to be a reaaaally stupid pick to make people mad cause I live off the salt
Let's be honest: Zag is both Non-Japanese and Recent.
Separated you can still have a chance, but together is basically nil
glad i wasn't the only one who thought it'd be zag for smash
i saw one of my friends tweet it and it got me thinking fr
his moveset would be fire
If Zag had come to smash all the Mods would have to work overtime
I just imagine thousands coming here to just blast their salt
ah,, the forced overtime condition
SCREAMS
no cause i screamed āwhat the hellā when i saw the doomguy fighter costume lol
but in a good way. i think itās a neat little addition
just cause I know sakurai I won't be surprised if theres a special special character released after this lmao
imagine the Wah man
sora does look really fun though
Lmaooooo the last smash is just a sword guy
Oh it's been said before
but god damn it I cant imagine what it's like to actually be a fan of this game and get spit in your face like that
Waluigi, but he is using a sword
tfw no Raiden
Only thing I'm disappointed in is the song list tbh
Hm yes Running with Rifles is on sale you people gotta get it
I will get the Pacific DLC for it because I like hard stuff
well some people want Dante.... a campy swordsman
some also wanted Travis.... a nerd swordsman
rewatching the reveal trailer and yeah that def was setting up for ashen one
This is Hard Drive. The Onion of Videogames
They are joking
kek
Well I guess we are finally done with the Smash craze
for now
about time I hate seeing it pop up everytime in my feeds
I love the smash reveals cause they are fun
I don't even play I just like the hype around it
Foreshadowing
Indeed, that is from I got the username
I'm unironically excited for the game
I want that cringe Injected into my veins
The phone scene sold me it will very funny
I'm for discovering in 2037 that Sephiroth full name is Henry Sephiroth
H e n r y
ok so I actually went back and looked at the song list again for sora
and I honestly can't believe we didn't get simple and clean since it played in the reveal trailer?
If Sora appears in the next smash I hope they add Riku and/or Aqua as Echoes
Lol somehow people are upset with it
a moment thats gonna go down in history
People would complain regardless of who got added
Thats the problem with Smash
I think its because when people hear kh they think Disney but theres literally no Disney with sora
genuinely had a moment of "wait. dark souls???" when watching the trailer
theres no way to please everyone
š¦
