Dude neon abyss is so much fun
wacky build
i always have my carbine in the bag
when i use it
I prefer being able to shoot when I want
Also the d.o.t was always intended to scale according to the backpack
That will be implemented in the latest update
Eagerly waiting for Deathloop reviews
I second this
idk how I feel about dead cells and replayability
only cause there are so few equipment I actually enjoy using that I don't play a lot
go off what do you dislike about dc
😔
the washington memorial
Arise and Deathloop, quite the interesting games coming
Life is strange too
I see, at least it's miles better than hades because there are so few equipment.
Also the combat is actually bearable
dam
DC is punishing in an unfun way
I'd like to talk smack on DC but it has been so long since I played and there were many patches
I like hard games, but I find some of DC designs questionable
Especially the existence of no hit and speedrun gate.
I hated that a bunch of weapons were straight garbage and you activley made your weapon pool worse by unlocking them
so runs were just hoping I'd get something decent in the beginning and if not, restart time ig
but I heard that this got fixed by giving a lot of weaps buffs
I reset if I fail the no hit gate.
So quite often and it sucks the fun out of the game for me.
I know I don't need to get the no hit gate, but like
also im poo at platformers and DC required me to do that
Yeah the "the game is worse if you unlock this" is part of the reason I stopped playing lol
Come freaking on losing it at 55/60 to a random projectile is rage inducing
I unlocked all the equipment at one point and runs just stopped being fun
off screen projectiles are somewhat of an issue
I think it has some visual clutter issues but hades has them too
the combat in DC is fine to me I just didnt like everything else around it
exploring it for the first time is def fun
but after that I kinda lost interest
Opinions, everybody has them
To be honest I prefered the EA builds of Hades to the EA builds of DC
But ince I've seen the completed product I ended liking DC more
Yeah and you are in the Hades server.
So y'know
Dead cells was quite rough at the start
Anyhow I already talked about my wariness about Deathloop and how it's gameplay loop makes me think it won't be as fun as it presents itself
Is it a roguelite
But now it's clearly the superior game
Anyhow before I lose myself
opinions...
In what metric?
I'm tempted to get it on sale given I loved the other 2
I just have a friend who rly likes it
In game superiority...
based library of ruina pfp btw 👌
I think DC is a worse at vacuum cleaning my room than Hades.
I prefer my RPGs more action oriented
Thanks, I've finished it after 130 hours and I feel Quite accomplished
Characters with Smug faces are my weakness
Good luck lmao
thanks I'll need it

First time hearing about them thh
their games r really cool but also rly hard
And now they are teasing Limsus Limbus and the Distorsion Detective videogame
Anime SCP
👁️ cant wait
Interesting
the first game lobocorp is very scp inspired
lobotomy corporation if you wanna look it up
In Lobotomy you manage a facility where dozens of abnormalities are contained and you must get Energy for them (You are an energy company that extracts energy form monsters basically) while tending to their needs, your employees needs and if needed shoot them to make sure they don't wreck your facility
Quite simplified to avoid spoilers, tho
it seems kinda meh at first but it gets rly good
Oh right I remember that game
library of ruina is like a deckbuilder rpg game
also very good
Slay the Spire but you hate yourself
I got recommended this on the slay the spire discord
If it's a deckbuilder then it has my attention
It's funny cause in the game you can pinpoint the exact moment brute force stops working and you must manage carefully your deck
Is it harder than slay the spire
Yes, but is not a roguelite
I'm aware
Sounds interesting. dark souls made me take a liking to RPGs
That you burn to get their key page (Basically their uniform and passives) and their attack cards
That you use to improve your librarians
Yes, a bit as you may want to get all attack cards from x character
but still good
So it's like thronebreaker
I havent grinded much yet so far but some fights I had to do twice bc I didnt get all their cards
lol videos already outdated like the key page part.
When you burn books you only get key pages now and key pages have the combat cards in them. To get the combat cards just unequip them from the key page or burn the key page.
To fix any confusion NUGGETS = AGENTS. I got so used to calling them this that I forgot it probably wouldn't make much se...
Here
Sounds like my type of game
It explains without spoilers teh very basis
the only issue is that the plot kinda goes straight from lcorp into this game
so if you didnt play lcorp its a bit???
I made this mistake
Apparently I already own this game but haven't played it
I straight up dropped library to play lcorp just to absorb the plot
and I ended up liking lcorp more
10GB download, with my internet¿!
Well I guess I'll try the game tomorrow
Seems like quite the commitment seeing that I have to play two games
you can prob play library on its own but
Meh, you can always be like Roland and go learning as he does about the Plot
Going through my backlog for games I haven't played
Has anyone here played crypt of the necrodancer
yeah its good
I wonder...
I mean
always depends on what youre looking for
but its amazing if you like rythm game + rougelike
How small do you have to be to be considered indie?
Some people put Gearbox and Behaviour Interactive as the stretching definition of Indie
Like Gearbox is either the biggest Indie Company or the smallest big publisher
Good question, next question
I don't think there's currently a really good metric for it because of how blended the indie and AAA scenes have become in recent times
Or at least, not one I'm aware of
I think there is definitely a blur for when it's indie or not, like when I think about all this stuff I just think of extremes of like 1 to 15 people for indies and 100 of people for AAA
well I asked because I was wondering if you would consider Riot Games 2 years ago as indie
Riot is a special case
As Tencent own them 100% but still lets them do their thing
Riot was indie once upon a time, but they are too big to be considered indie now
Couldn’t tell by looking at their client
Dead cells finally getting a mobile update
If only this is how it looked when Travis and Henry run down the street in the real ending.
I’ve only seen this weird slide happen with Bad Girl. Maybe it’s unique to her, but I dunno yet. It’s funny, though.
aaaaaa what happened to the etxtures in the room?
Iunno
She ain't rank 2 for nothing
wait
she's rank 2?
oh yea
what I don't like is the insta kill move. you need to wait it out. I don't really like it lol
I can understand that
but honestly that pales in comparison to NMH2 final boss

I loathe it
he is the reason why I don't replay NMH2
Mobile version is finally gonna be up to date with everyone else lol
It's a good thing summer doesn't last forever...
Dawn of the third day
24h remain to check it out
I'm alternating between Fuga and Berseria. Hopefully Berseria determines if I end playing Arise
Anyone else who plays hollow knight who thinks that Monomon's "head" is actually her bell since she's a jellyfish, and the mask part is just an appendage she grew to hold her mask
felt cute, might restart and fully replay EoS despite how much of a pain it is to do so and how many other games I have to beat
Like
half of the best endgame dungeons are unlocked from what's basically a lottery
EoS?
Wanna say pokemon mystery dungeon explorers of sky
Don't you get the zero isles just by getting the credits?
Eeague of Segends.
End Of Sevangelion
You know what's one of the weirdest Videogame facts I know?
Squall, the protagonist of FFVIII, is based on River Phoenix, Joaquin Phoenix deceased older brother
these hackers are the lowest of the low
pathetic creatures
yeah, but zero isle south is just destiny tower with no reward
wheras the latter has an item which iirc is straight-up double damage
So let me get this straight.
A Discord post with no verification was posted to Reddit r/titanfall by a different user.
Said Reddit post was then posted on Twitter by yet another unverified user.
The Twitter post is now regurgitated back to Discord.
The freaking circle of life.
You know how it is
We can't trust devs to tell us something's unsafe so we gotta believe the hearsay
Okay here's some more clarity on this:
The temporary buffer that titanfall uses for game invites has a size cap. If the decoded username of the person who invited you is larger than that size cap, it'll start overwriting random memory to store the name. 1/3 https://t.co/YKWpXniQw4
Here's the same source giving some explanation
I should start a chain copy pasta mail saying League of Legend is compromised by a bioterrorist organization and is literally giving them cancer.
But then the response would probably be "We know."
I can't tell if you are taking this seriously.
But the extra "information" they gave still provides zero verification.
Who are "some people have already confirmed [this]?" Who is this guy?
Who is anything and anyone. Someone or "it has been confirmed" means nothing.
I'm not invested in this at all, and it seems like you aren't either
This directxeon guy seems to be a trusted figure in the community? Idk
yeah but it seems like misinformation. in this day and age, I just generally have a distaste for that (for obvious reasons).
Man, those reviews are nice

I loved the Demo of this game
thoughts on Super Hexagon?
It's incredibly simple but quite enjoyable imo
i picked it up again recently and finally beat hexagoner
trying for hexagonest
hyper mode seems insane tbh
Yeah, from memory it is quite insane
Not a game for squares
Lmao
So, Super hexagon has to be the best game of all time because hexagons are bestagons
I still haven’t beaten a single level and I’ve had it for quite some time lol. Though I haven’t been actively playing it, just here and there
https://mobile.twitter.com/JoeZieja/status/1435845852388495365
Something light hearted for a change
epic embed fail?
this further confirms that i need to check out the warioware demo. prolly not gonna get the game because backlog but still
Idk why but the longer the session you play it, the slower you improve.
I play it in small 30 mins burst and it works.
Nintendogs is coming for switch that's it i'm getting a lite
I don't think it's actually nintendogs tho, but a similar game that is basically nintendogs
do people like nintendogs?
Apparently
Some people like Nintendo and some people like Dogs, they are tapping into the niche in the middle
God, imagine liking Nintendo
Nice oh
The tradeoff is that I have to use that clunky pos launcher
But as long as it plays the game...
unresponsive af still
Nioh is probably the best game about Irish Ninjas fighting Spanish Ninjas I've played
Careful or you might wake the EGS police.
I actually had already bought and finished night a year ago already :/
I should snag that, I have it on Steam but I don't have the DLC
Dammit, I bought Civ6 and I don’t understand most of the what the game wants me to do
Feels smol brain
I still prefer the endless games
Got the base game for $10 on the Switch. Was eyeing it for a while because I heard it was good, but coming into it without any prior knowledge was a bit too much
Probably needs more time experimenting and watching vids on YouTube I guess
Outer Wilds DLC in 19 days
I cannot express into words how much I'm expecting that
Man, September and August have been a shower of good games after good games
After that PlayStation showcase, my hate for exclusives has intensified
Yeah the DLC bloats the thing a lot
Those are three full fledged xpacs
Ala Dark Souls
i dont want to spend $500 just to play a few games
lol wat
that is if you can even get it at MSRP
well, yeah, I get that
but exclusives drive people to buy consoles
companies make better exclusives to incentivize people to buy their consoles
and we get better games
it all works out in the end 👍
console exclusives have always existed 😭 idk i guess i kinda understand the hate for them but ive just never really... got it? if its not on a console i dont have then i dont have any interest in it. a console exclusive alone is not going to sell me personally on a console, without an extensive library to back it up.
yeah, i guess i am not interested in a lot of console games also.
they have basically no RTS, and indie games are available on PC almost always.
a game being exclusive is never going to sell me on a console but it sure is going to heighten my stance against exclusives
fair enough
i mean i do dislike how egs have their timed exclusives for whatever reasons.
i get that it's just business
but doesn't mean that i have to like it
Well, technically Gaming basically started with console exclusives and lasted until the '83 crash where PC gaming started to being popularized
that's a time before i was born
Nice
did you soul cannon
Ultima, one of PC Gaming's first Franchises turned 40 years in June
Lol, no I imagined that not killing any kid was gonna be neccessary to get the good ending
So I didn't
but every time you use it, it adds more feels. a strategy to consider!
Anyhow, Fuga was a nice interlude into Berseria
To be honest felt a little short with only 12 chapters
Granted I need to play Shorter game once in a while to keep my sanity
berseria felt too long for me lol
It is long, I've seen walkthroughts that last 46 hours
Although I came from finishing Library of Ruina which lasted me 140h so this one should be a breeze
is it alright for me to expect epic story from ruina
haven't started it, liked lobocorp for the story
Yes, but that game will make you feel evil, as you are playing a sociopathic robot, a guy who has lost any hope for the future (and is basically her slave) and 9 jaded librarians
I enjoyed the Grimdarkness of the setting
sounds good
Where the lack of empathy is consiidered Endemic
lobocorp's storytelling got me good. ||the way they reveal who the sephiraths are, who they were, and what the facility is, so brilliant||
Yeah well LoR has basically 10x the production value, better art much more refined graphics and a banger of an OST
poggers
yeah I don't like that either
I'm personally ambivalent
I am ok with it, since mostly they are timed and don't prevent proper preservation of games. Since I think the main problem with exclusives on consoles is preserving said games properly and with them being available more easily to everyone.
But consoles aren't really something everyone has or up to emulate the games.
Though this is not to say some old PC games don't have the same problem of preservation, at times hardly capable to run on newer specs, but I am thankful more games from old times are modded to be preserved better or remastered (properly) to be able experienced today.
Fun fact
The 1997 Blade Runner PC game is impossible to beat on modern computers without modding because one encounter and one bomb are timed based on the speed of the CPU.
And turns out in 24 years CPU speeds have become Slightly faster
daaaaaaang
I'm mad at the things like Sonic Colors Ultimate, Tony Hawk, Kingdom Hearts, etc.
because it's not something that EG made themselves to push some sort of sales or whatever, they just bought the rights to it
I'd be less mad if it was something that they made
It's honestly funny to me how old games can speed up and go crazy due to such differences of specs.
You can always use DOSbox tho
that is kinda funny
sad
anybody up for one or two matches of apex?
new god of war looks so pog
- This set contains both the MELTY BLOOD: TYPE LUMINA game as well as the MELTY BLOOD ARCHIVES content. Please be careful not to purchase multiple copies of the same item.
2021/9/30
god of war ragnarok is so hype
factual.
so many superheroes game ughhh this is truly pepega
i just want a proper spawn game that isnt an arkham asylum clone
one of them is a straight up issekai game lmao
wait what which?
i think tiny tints or forspoken
im so very afraid about tiny tina's wonderlands
even with pitchford out there not disturbing this game im sure there are people which will do his job of ruining it
The problem with borderlands 3 is that it's soooo much more painfully unfunny
1,2 and Pre Sequel felt unfunny on purpose, and they didnt try hard, but it's like they just tried so hard in 3
I got a feeling I might have to mute dialogue on Wonderlands as well if I end up getting it
oooookay
I didn't expect a dad bod
alright I did
but the dad bod I expected was kratos's
well he does look like he can drink the sea
By the way the fact this is a Duology surprises me
I mean Thor was always a fat and drunk and despicable bastard
Marvel really influenced the impression that thor is a hero or something
Hell Im sure the previous GoW games potrayed him like this
Because the internet is going nuts when they saw this....
The MCU and it's consenquences have been a disaster for society
i feel like everyone but marvel portrays thor as either mad chonk or hella buff
like buff to the point of chonk
Love this Thor design
Man feels like a proper tank
Also, even if I'm hearing you correctly and Pitchford doesn't have his grubby little fingers on Wonderlands, he still owns the company and gets money from it
Hey at least the game looks more like Borderlands 2
Aka they are back on strong cel shading
Wonder if the size will justify being standalone
https://steamcommunity.com/app/936790/reviews/?browsefilter=mostrecent&snr=1_5_100010_&p=1&filterLanguage=schinese man screw these guys

What’s happening here?
a bunch of ccp guys are review bombing life is strange true colors
because of a tibet flag
ah yes chinese review bombing that's a classic
I don't understand why Tales of Arise has so many reviews already
Nobody has finished the game yet
deemo is free on ios btw
Wait but this isn't good news
That doesn't excuse their crappy client, but i support the more payment option movement.
no user is gonna go to another site, input all their payment - too much hassle
in app payment is just too convenient
Im not sure about that tbh.
But i have no data to support it. I just think people will spend a few clicks for a bit of savings.
Wasn't Fortnite purchase out of store cheaper?
I thought that's how the lawsuit started to begin with
Fortnite offers cheaper out of store alternative, and Apple removed the game as a response to ToS violation
And then lawsuit
Epic-Apple ruling. Judge says Epic failed to prove that Apple is a monopolist, but (not surprisingly if you watched the trial) disliked Apple's anti-steering rules and has issued an injunction saying Apple must let game app devs link out to alternate payment systems
442
1943
here is the outcome of it
Epic sort of won, they didn't actually, but the did some way.
this outcome is basically in short: it did something good in the end.
okay actually even proper explanation. https://twitter.com/jasonschreier/status/1436372920285204481?s=21
both companies lost? awesome
People are willing to go through hoops just to save a few bucks
This I can confirm
On the other hand though, 12mil is chump change in the business world
This is like, a slap on the wrist
Epic threw like 300 mil on free games last year lul
Now if they can just improve their UI, make proper mod/workshop support
Yeah they wont do that
They just did the throw money at it until it's good approach
I genuinely dont know anyone who actually spent a single cent on that store
All of my Epic games are free kekw
Still $0
Exactly
fix the UI and add mod support like Steam does. I'll consider buying a game or two so the devs get more money, no kap
At the very least it's not Steam's approach of "hey let's pile up more visual clutter to the simple store so it lags for people more" I must say. All storefront bad, return to buying games straight from the devs.
But until then, $0
True, but I'm referring to the library UI specifically.
Epic has no way to hide games, no way to tag games, no way to freaking specify where you have an already installed game so you don't have to redownload it.
Steam is cool because of it's social aspect, multitude of features, mod support, marketplace, and much
Every self respecting PC launcher has launch parameters. Guess what EGS doesnt have that. Even UPlay and Origin do
No "advanced" options like Steam to change settings, launch different builds. And like I have said, no workshop support.
Also no way the steam store lags that bad
Anyways it's not as bad as EGS which the whole UI is janky af and unresponsive
Idk, Steam Store can sometimes be finicky for me, not always, but it does happen.
Also they have whatever this is lmao
Excellent recommendations xD
i mean steam is getting an overhaul once the steam deck comes out
hopefully
Can I plug Playnite again as an excellent front end which supports major launchers, as well as emulators.
It definitely does, there been multiple reports on that here in this server and other what not. I wouldn't consider social part of Steam much of use, considering other social medias and how low the moderation is for forums, sections and what not, not really fun to use imo. For sure EGS needs to improve, but for now I think it does have at least needed features to look around, in my experience. has search button for library and outside and does show if I have game installed.
I am unsure what exact features Steam has that may help for use, outside of workshop mods, even then it seems rarity a game would have a workshop mods support.
Also Steam definitely needs to be pushed to be more dev friendly. Like, whenever you refund, all money that is going back to you is all from devs, nothing comes back from Steam (meaning devs also pay back more than they get from you). And that's honestly a bummer feature.
why would you do that
Because sometimes Im just truly fed up with Windows 10
Linux is easier on lower-end hardware, that I know of
Plus, no bloat
None of my Linux-savvy friends are gamers though
I showed them the Steam Deck links and videos and they say like, “woah, it’s going to save Linux gaming, but I don’t game that much though”
I guess they’re just out of the Windows loop for too long
Because building a PC in this age now is just....depressing.
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Refurbished-HP-Pavilion-Gaming-R5-1650-Super-8GB-256GB-Gaming-Desktop-Tower/828808485 im thinking of getting this if it ever comes back in stock, is it a better deal than the steam deck?
8GB ram? oooooof
nvm then ill just get the steam deck
Eh, the sum Epic has to pay is pretty much chump change to them, I feel
You'd be surprised how much they lost by giving free games and buying exclusiveness
I'm of the opinion that 8GB is plenty enough
You can always have more
Plus it has a Ryzen 5 and GTX 1650
The Steam deck is way above that
Dice Legacy looks good, another dice roguelite. Description says dice-based survival city builder, trailer said roguelite
I saw some gameplay on stream for a couple of hours yesterday.
It's not a roguelite, at least per my definition. But then again everything is branded as rogue or claims to have rogue elements nowadays.
I really do think it's a craze. It will pass.
Ah yeah the one with the weird Ring World
Think it’s just flaunting the procedural generation
I don't even know if there's an overlay for EGS, I've heard it exists but I have no clue how to activate it
I bought hades there to support supergiant
I would suggest not touching hp or dell pre builds with a 10 foot pole.
Largely because they more often than not use propriety parts (mobo, psu, cpu cooler tyically) so when you want to upgrade its quite difficult to carry forward componants
Linus' secret shopper series is a good watch, also gamers nexus pre build reviews
Ni No Kuni 2 is coming to the Switch. The first one has major sale right now. I haven’t even finished the endgame of the first one
Sigh
So many games, so little time
ruined king gone from support page now ):
😩
Modded
But it's
Cataphract- Jester - Crystalline Herald - Blazing Lord
In that order
Cataphract for backline damage and offheals
Jester for Ballad and Stress control
Herald for tank, healing, and dots
BL for frontline damage and her self-healing and self-stress healing
hnnnnnnnnnnnnghhhh why is Gran Turismo 7 only on PS5 ughhhhhhhhh
Wasn’t Gran Turismo always a PS exclusive?
Yeah but Im just very upset about it this time
Cuz of how hard the ps5 is to get right?
Not really, it's just looks good.
Plus I got a PC but damn some games are just great on that system.
They'll come to PC after 4 years anyways kekw
Guys
Thoughts on Pokemon Legends: Arceus?
I think it's pretty cool but idk i want to hear some other people's thoughts
Ive given up hope on the Switch
I am very tempted to sell it but Im also still hoping for good games
It's all just wii u ports and exclusives that aint my thing
i'd love to get the Borderlands Legendary Collection though. I just need 10 more euros.
Oh yeah and Im not used to game prices being 50-60 dollars. Im a cheapskate PC gamer used to Valve sales
Daemon x Machina, Fire Emblem, and other first-party games kept me sold on Switch.
Nintendo consoles aren't for everyone though, haha
art style and setting looks amazing. I dunno about that gameplay though, haha
Ruined King is forever trapped in the mist. Game is gone.
I still remember how Prime 4 was going to be the flagship shooter for the switch
My point is that the exclusive lineup for the Switch is so inconsistent
MS and Sony have their exclusive lineup very clear but at Nintendo it's all about waiting without any news about the new upcoming games
Also no Virtual console, themes, and the cool games the Gamecube had
Lack of virtual console SUCKS
The online service is also the worst offender, not only is it paid which is the worst damn trend ever, but what it includes are just some damn games that can be played on a phone
Also, I'm an old fart who's busy with work, so many the slimmer library affects me less 🤷
I'm literally the demographic that Nintendo banks on: loves first-party, buys indie games, doesn't care about cutting-edge game tech, enjoys quirky gameplay gimmicks, etc
I wish Nintendo could also compete more with the other 2
oh GC was a phenomenal system. but the juice isn't worth the squeeze
it's a lot more advantageous to take the DS/Wii/Switch route. meaning, you entice third parties with sheer, undeniable market share
They also had the Prime trilogy which was the most fun trilogy I played and I don't know how they still arent doing more games
maybe because Fed Force was a POS
well, we've seen a Metroid drought precisely because they noticed the games haven't been good
Prime 4 literally had its entire project scrapped to begin anew
Metroid Dread looks cool though
Im gonna repeat that Prime 4 was supossed to be a flagship exclusive
but the flagship exclusive now is BOTW which is a Wii U game
not as cool as that fan-made 2d Metroid Prime though, haha
BOTW is cool but it gets absolutely boring at times, the camel dungeon made me drop it
man I love botw to this day
folks talking about Nintendo not making complex or hardcore games... the physics system in BotW is one of the most impressive ever put in a video game
with how gravity, wind, fire, electricity, and magnetism works
I'd say I only had fun in this game until I got to the last beast which is the camel
that was also the toughest boss [the camel boss
Great I wont even bother booting the game up again lmao
lol
I loved the music in that game
it got slammed for not being "zelda sounding," but that's what made it even better
What else. Ah. Animal Crossing. God that game stinks, I would have sold it if it werent for my sis
It feels like an early access game
Definitely sounds like Switch wasn't a great purchase for you 😅
I fell for the hype
Nah I got my PC
I always was a PC gamer, even when I had a bad laptop I got to play great old games
PS5 might be cool but it's too much of an investment, and it's not even obtainable.
yeah you may as well just stick with PC
I wanna play Cyberpunk for the luls, but it looks so bad outside of PC hehe
Im still keeping the switch when I will get some third party games or when Nintendo releases some games I actually enjoy
Aka when they release Metroid Prime 4
Also looking to get Dread as well, but it doesnt feel as big and exciting as a Prime game
so much this.
many good games can run on a toaster.
Like I said Im not used to dishing out 60 euros for a single game
Im just used to 10 euro steam games lmfao
my 8 year old laptop with a GTX 660M can still play many modern indie games
it's great
Oh yeah that's how I got 80+ hours on Sven Co-op
now I know the whole layout of Half Life 1
My most expensive game purchase must be Borderlands 3 Super Deluxe Edition for 38 euro
I regret that.
Well hey the good thing about the switch is that I can at leat use it as a couch coop machine
Playing in recess Mario Kart is a blast
Might soon get Smash? Dunno.
Or Borderlands ports if they are any good.
i named the entei in crystal hades, it just felt so right. that is all. now i go destroy rocket hideout
I think you probably hoping too much out of the Switch tbh
Yeah I guessed so
Right from the get go, with how the DS and Wii has gone to, we know Nintendo isn’t going to try to compete with the other big two
Gonna be honest the form factor sounds ideal but I rather have the handheld and home console model back
I rather have 1 thing designed perfectly to do a thing than 1 thing that cant do both well
As an indie platform, I’m very happy with the Switch, but as you’ve said, their own first-parties leaves much to be desired
What I meant is, it's not small and compact enough to be a good handheld
But not powerful enough to be a home console
I would kill for a 3DS with modern hardware that is being used for smartphones, and with 2 proper sticks and 2 oled displays
Well, think of it as just a handheld. The home console side was just a bonus
Also the joycons leave much to be desired. I got used to them but I'd love if they had actual analogue triggers.
Wait scratch that that would mean they could charge 80 for a pair with analogue triggers
The JoyCons are fine imo, aside from the fact that they’re drifting way ahead of time than other controllers lol
JoyCons do get packed with so many stuffs
The Switch tablet, and both JoyCons, all have their own gyro sensors
Havent had drifting yet
Lol y'know I thought we sort of fell out of the whole console war thing, in regards to people being mad at God of War for reusing animations https://twitter.com/tha_rami/status/1436553187897626624
I heard they even reused the voice actors https://t.co/OWGvPxcT0i

Seems like making game expansions as separate games is now a trend
NFC, IR blaster, it’s pretty feature packed in such small package
The only problem was, it’s drifting lol
And the quality lacks when it comes to the trigger and shoulder buttons IMO
Good thing the switch has like 0 racing games that use the triggers as acceleration
More like they had to not include that trigger acceleration, because of the JoyCons not having proper triggers lol
There is NO trigger accelerations
the triggers are just buttons
Just big wide buttons if you ask me
Might as well call them something else
True
The shoulder buttons are cool but not clicky enough for me
The cool feature is that you can click it sideways
They are curved so that's a pretty good design choice

This game looks promising
that is such a weird mix of sci fi and ancient civilization vibes, looks interesting
Alright, playing through Tales of Arise
The 5th boss is absolute trash
One of the worst bosses Ive ever had to fight
Too bullet Spongy? Attacks that deal too much damage?
Worse
It spawns adds endlessly that kill your party members and you cant stop them
And eventually they spam attacks so quickly you cant actually attack at all without being blasted
I started Berseria a Week ago although decided to finish Fuga first
So I'll start it seriously tomorrow
The brgining is quite confusing because the characters and narrative seems to want you to be confusing
Basically
Ok. I arrived to the part you kill the boars for the kid.
First you have the protagonist and the kid escaping with the older magician. You see the magician doing something to the MC sister. Then you have sister on a cell jaded mad half mutated who swears vengeance against a man. Presumably the older magician.
THEN you are in the same town that seemed complete destroyed in the anime cutscene the MC is happy and seems on cool terms with the magician dude. Like W0t?
Maaaan, just thinking on all games I wanna play I'm getting lazy
hehe i just bought ff7 and child of light
now i can finally play the game sephiroth is from and experience one of ubisoft's older and from what ive heard good games
it's been a hot minute since ive played but child of light is a good game
it was on sale for like 6$ so why not lol
couldn't beat it tho too many spiders
ahh
but yea ff7 was like 15 and child of light was 6
and i had like 2.50 in gold points
so 😎
oh nice deals
cant wait to play ff7 then i can enjoy sephiroth but its more valid now
I have yet to finish Lightning Returns so I'll start it again someday
... the next boss is worse
Child of light is such a beautiful game, I played it very long ago and I loved it. Been wanting to replay it a little for a while now but I have too many games to play and I shouldn’t add more to that list
Mood
I recently picked Child of Light up but got distracted by the PS4 release of Hades whoops, so far it's a really beautiful game though
With the new Thor's design on GoW: Rig-ner-okay, I find it a lot more hilarious for the fact that he dressed up as Freya once.
God damn it I loathe Windows 10
It's all good until you encounter a stupid problem caused by updates
just install windows 11 bro
what is that color called? greenish biege?
Let me Tell you

Deathloop I'll wait till is 20 euros tho.
Same with Tales.
Gotta finish Berseria anyhow

Anyone here has played the new pathfinder?
Hades, mh rise, world ends with you, super mario world, skul
Hades
Oh right Mandalore did a review not long ago
I remembered playing it after getting it on sale 3 or 4 years ago
It was nice but kinda too edgy
the soundtrack is banger tho
It's stylised, the one that pains my eye more is the glitches the game sometimes show you.
not the red
I can't deny how much style it has but I find it overrated and not very fun
The ost is amazing yes
Dead Cells, Hades, Hyper Light Drifter, FFIX is all I can remember right now
Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, Atelier Sophie, Tales of Berseria, No More Heroes
I'm also quite a fan of The Messenger
I know, it was very hard for people to tell
Been wanting to check out The Messenger. Just wanna finish some more games before I pick up nother one
it's great
one of the only Metroidvanias that I'll actually play
and the writing, specifically the jokes, are 🤌
and it's got free DLC
mastapeece
Sounds good
In no particular order, these are my 4 favourites: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (the remake hype is real), Burnout Paradise, Dishonored, and Dishonored 2
I can't pick a single favourite game
Very loose and uncertain list of my most favourite games, mostly ranking on the fun I had playing or how much note it left on me experience wise.
Paradise Killer, VA-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk, Omori, Disco Elysium , LISA series, Not For Broadcast, Ultrakill, Iconoclasts, RimWorld, Spiritfarer, Pyre, Dishonored series, Hylics series, Hypnospace Outlaw, Caves of Qud, The Long Dark, DEADBOLT, Dungeon of the Endless, Psychonauts, Griftlands, Undertale, OneShot, Night in the Woods. Darkwood and Streets of Rogue.
ayyy fellow Dishonored fan
you too
i replay it every year or so
I can't decide between whether I like Dishonored 1 or Dishonored 2 more
i almost always go no kill so whenever i do a kill run i am startled by how gorey it is lol
dishonored 1 is my fav easy
I absolutely love Dishonored 1's atmosphere and story and such but god Dishonored 2's level design and visuals are perfect
i like Corvo as a silent protag and i love the visual style esp the faces on the character models
I say I like Dishonored 2 more gameplay and visual style wise improvement more and the story more on Dishonored 1 I think.
i get lost in 2's level design without the matker but i can do Dishonored by learning the city without using the objective marker
which is my fav way to play
Dishonored 1's Daud expansions were really good too
daud blink daud blink
Well, I just can't help killing everyone
it's convenient
plus they turn to ash
I go unnoticed if there's no one to notice
Few years back I did a run in Dishonored 1 where I played on the highest difficulty, wasn't allowed to kill anyone, wasn't allowed to ever get spotted, and could only use Blink lvl 1 as my only power
i can't do that i would die
Boy making the guard to accidentally kill himself with his own gun in Dishonored 1
That was the life
I like to try to no kill and be as stealthy as I can be, if that doesn't work, well I just try to keep on going. With in Dishonored 2 especially I just goomba stomp every enemy into silence.
Dishonored 2 made excellent improvements to the gameplay and level design
yeah now that i have an actual ghost run completed, i try to roll with mistakes more because it makes the game more interesting. but i try my hardest
They expanded upon the extra non-lethal options introduced in Dishonored 1's DLCs
dishonored 2 polished a lot of really good things
dishonored gave us different illustrations for the mission keys 🥺 in 1 they were all the same
and you kept them the whole time.. 2 did inventory much more cleanly
also I've been doing the same thing in Dishonored 2 off-and-on for a little while except outright rejecting the Mark because the game lets you do that
that's another thing about Dishonored 2
the entire game is playable without any powers whatsoever
yeah that is cool!! i haven't done a no powers run in 2 yet
Dishonored 1 isn't. sure you can ignore Blink most of the time, but I'd like to see you climb the water lock without using Blink
you can do it... with difficulty
I love both games but I really adore Dishonored 2's level design in particular over the first game
Clockwork Mansion and A Crack In The Slab are both excellent levels, for example
i dont actually remember if the level is called Clockwork Mansion or not lol
i just know that's where you go in it
I also love the non-lethal takedowns in Dishonored 2. the first game was sorely lacking in ways to non-lethally takedown NPCs, though this was partially remedied in the DLCs with the addition of stun mines, which made a return in Dishonored 2
although some of them don't seem particularly non-lethal. like, with some of the non-lethal drop assassinations you can literally see blood coming out of their head
I should go to bed now, it's 3:20 AM
good night all, was fun getting to talk about Dishonored for a bit. I don't come across too many people I get to do that with
as a fan of the original Thief games, while I enjoyed Dishonored 1's relative lack of nonlethal options because it forces you to actually avoid stuff like in Thief, I'm glad 2 added some powers that could actually be used nonlethally
Tbh, I liked The last Splinter Cell approach, The game divides your gadgets and weapons in 3 categories for each playstyle
Open Lethal, stealth Lethal and Stealth Non-Lethal
Dishonored isn't necessarily supposed to be a pure stealth game like Thief. They wanted each kind of playstyle to be viable and fun, however in Dishonored 1 doing an assault playstyle would always result in you getting a bad ending due to the chaos system, because there were only a few ways to take people out non-lethally.
In Dishonored 2, you can do non-lehal drop assassinations, punch people in the face mid-combat and put them into a choke hold, slide into an enemy and do a non-lethal takedown, put down stun mines, throw bottles at their heads, you get the point. They made a non-lethal assault playstyle fun and viable, and it was great.
The problem with Stealth games is that using stealth and non-lethal methods means you donpt get to use the coolest gadgets most of the time
This reminds me that somehow I got Hitman 3 on Epic Games
Yeah, although Dishonored 2 remedies this quite well, I think. A lot of the powers can be used to assist in a non-lethal playstyle, both while being stealthy and while assaulting the map. There's also a few alternatives to the lethal gadgets themselves. Spring razor is substituted with the stun mines, grenades can kind of be substituted with the chloroform bottles you can find around the level, and so on
absolutely right about this! 2 has so much more flexibility for not killing people
you are going to get me to replay 2 soon enough
Speaking of Arkane games
Deathloop released
Im not fond of the HUD and it kinda looks like a PS3 game at times
But I guess it's fine enough
Just looks like a Dishonored spin off
I've been really excited for deathloop but I can't run it 😭
GeForce now exists
Some other news
Sony discontinues online service for Little Big Planet games on PS3 and Vita
And knowing Sony, soon enough they will discontinue the stores and full online service of the PS3 and Vita
Which absolutely sucks, you cant just discontinue that generation just like the PS1 and PS2
The PS3 saw the beginning of online purchases alongside the Vita
And knowing how hard to get are physical Vita games....
Let's invite Steam to a beer
Oh ye I got in celebration the OG Steam Skin

so many awful decisions made in one image
this pains me
why would you sell long ranged scanners
why would you send a mantis to put out a fire
why would you click "repair all"
why would you waste a zoltan in the piloting room
oh yeah I forgot that it was out this month
Not in the US.
Steam is welcomed to go to other countries and shoot civilians and pay its own damm taxes, but beer is too far.
3 more years until steam can drink
we should get steam a fake id
You can look it up by checking your purchase history in account details
oh my god it was Audiosurf 2
Don't remember the details, but in the account settings section where your cc info is stored, so is your purchase history
Oh nice
Mine was Burnout Paradise and then the very next one was Bastion with Soundtrack 😄
i forgot i owned that
oof
smh
[redacted] yeah, Burnout Paradise
it looks like Burnout Paradise was the 9th game i got on Steam
i had a friend who rwas really into it
I liked it (Burnout), had fun with it, mind you that was back in 2016, now it's been remastered I think?
yeah but the remaster is really more like a re-release with minor visual changes
played the hell out of the original game on the PS3
my first Steam purchase was KOTOR II
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/713936876301451379/887033877787447356/Screenshot_20210913-135431_kindlephoto-130304079.png
oooh, KOTORs were so good!
I remember I wasn't able to play it on my potato PC when it first came out xD
I played the first one on mobile and loved it
so excited for the remake even though I don't have a PS5 or a PC that can run it
Lego Star Wars 3 The Clone Wars
the first game i bought on steam was transistor in september 2015
My first game in Steam was a Free Portal (Got Steam to get it even)
18 OCT 2014 Awesomenauts 2,49€
Oh, I forgot how many hours I gave this game
My first Singleplayer game was One Way Heroics
What the heck?
Why Deathloop has User reviews already in Steam?
Oh lots of prerelease reviews
wait what they have hours on records tho
Lol, none reach the three hour threshold
Most are in the 50-90 minute range
Man, Warhammer 3 delayed :(
At least tomorrow they show us Cathay
I cannot believe nobody posted this
Darkest Dungeon II (Early Access) is coming to @EpicGames on October 26th, 2021!

@polar dragon
yeah
i wont buy DD on epic though, not because i have anything against Epic in particular, just that the game is predicated on mod support which epic doesn't have (yet)
ill just wait for steam release
Fair enough
it might be like hades where early access is epic, then release is steam
the real 5head move is to wait another 5 years so DD2 becomes free on epic weekly rotation
i've always loved the darkest dungeon art style
You know?
After 200 hours at the first one
I still can't get over the new designs, it feels like I'm getting crazy
Dunno how to describe it
Like something very familiar suddenly changes and you get unnerved
yeah im so used to the bid head design that the new proportionally accurate heads seem too small
xD
like when the voice actor for a character in a game suddenly changes in a sequel or remake?
I always feel weird when that happens
i like some of em :3 like the jester and graverobber i think look better
should i go for eastward on steam or switch
i'm worried there'll be a graphics downgrade on switch like there was for dodgeball academia, but since it's a pixel game it hopefully won't be an issue
Switch
^
Honestly, I didn't mind Corvo getting a voice actor. Especially the one they chose
i liked the idea of him being mute 😔
It's kind of cool to me having the main character of Arkane's Thief-inspired game be voiced by the player character in Thief
it also seems a little on-the-nose to cast the same guy who voiced garrett
oh
well then
I mean, it's not like he was a silent protagonist in the first game. He talked, just wasn't voiced
The change to a voiced protagonist is kind of weird to adjust to but honestly I'm far more bothered by The Outsider's voice change
His voice actor in Dishonored 2 isn't bad, and honestly after getting used to it I think I prefer it over his voice in the first game, but it's very jarring when I'm switching between the two games and hearing different voice actors
All this Dishonored talk makes me want to get back to my somewhat absurd Dishonored 2 playthrough in which I don't have powers and am not allowed to kill or be seen
Talking about that
Apparently Bayonetta's VA won't reprise her role for the third game :/
I mean, it's not a clear cut no but as close as you can be
I can confirm except Death and Taxes which I have not played that all games here are very good
And yes, I know the name is Ehhhhhh
truly a society moment

i wasnt big on Corvo's new voice, or The Outsider's new voice.. i didn't like The Outsider's first voice all that much, but the new one has this sort of quality that bothers my ears? i don't think it's bc of the voice actor i think it might be the added effect is different and the one before didn't bother me. but yeah it was very jarring, and smthn i think about each time i hear him in 2
for Corvo, i have a soft spot for protagonists with no or minimal voicing.. i just like em that way! plus - i like to sorta rp when i play games, so having no spoken lines for Corvo and very few written lines allowed me to create my own narrative and inner monologue for him, which i always had a lot of fun with
Dishonored kinda brands itself as about making your own decisions for the story, and i think a (mostly) silent protagonist complements that well. it gives you a ton of flexibility in characterizing your own playthrough
i have only actually completed one playthrough of 2, so, bear that in mind for my opinions on this. but i felt like i was along the ride for someone else's story - and that's not a bad way to play or design games at all, but i really liked how in 1 i felt like i was in control of who Corvo was.. i had to figure him out using a) the history i was given about him, b) the actions available to me within the game, and c) the other characters' reactions to him
and building a playthrough around those things, and adjusting my ideas about Corvo's characterization as i made more mistakes and found out new information, is very fun for me. in 2, where the characters have distinct pre-written personalities, i don't get to do that as much
Yeah, non-voiced protagonists do have that quality about them, though in 2 I do like the added touch of Corvo/Emily's voice lines being a bit more psychopathic when you're going high chaos
Their personalities do change accordingly with the chaos system but it's definitely not the same as it is without a voiced protagonist
I would definitely replay 2 when you can, I love it just as much as the first game and its DLCs if not more
i will!! talking about it makes me excited to
i have to finish death of the outsider too
i was always put off by corvo's silence in the first game, made even more jarring when the dlc had a voiced protagonist and was much better for it
not that they have to be chatterboxes either
daud's dialogue was really good yeah
Dishonored 1's DLCs were so good
I loved playing as Daud and I really liked seeing his deep regret for what he'd done
Dishonored DLC is basically dishonored 2
You'll understand less of the plot if you go from dishonored 1 to 2 than playing only the dlc to 2
yeah
far cry blood dragon is pretty hilarious
how many video game warcrimes have you committed?
time to continue the high difficulty run I started a while ago
https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/713936876301451379/887175542212788264/IMG_20210913_231750.jpg
Dishonored 2 was the first game I ever played on a PS4
what's considered a warcrime?
is it even warcrime even when I do it in a peaceful game?
like harvest moon?
Killings of civilians
Usage of banned weapons
Attacks on civilian buildings (schools, hospitals, etc.)
Pretty sure killing POWs are also warcrimes

I also accidentally killed civilians in AC2
idk about banned weapons
if the game gives you the option, then it's all good right?
Ive accidentally killed some civilians in arma 3
casually throwing mustard gas
U never know if theyre soldiers in disguise
i might or might not have disintegrated some civilians with plasma rays in xcom
and FTL is just a warcrime simulator
From the infrared view of a drone, all people look the same 🤔
Therefore its the games fault for me killing civilians
racism is no more
yea, TOTALLY not your fault for not checking it.
I'm still thinking of warcrimes I might've committed
At the heart of the concept of war crimes is the idea that individuals can be held criminally responsible for the actions of a country or its soldiers. War crimes and crimes against humanity are among the gravest crimes in international law.
i'd say so
I mean
unless they're like.. animals... then maybe it's something else
it's not exactly inhumane?
is blowing a hole on the surface of Mars "wanton destruction of cities, towns, or villages"?
nah mars is free game
UNDERTALE
think about the martians
wild wild space
technically everything is in space
I'm gonna write that down, it's so good
write what down?
love stuff
so deathloop got pretty good reviews
loot people's houses
every zelda game
lmao
torture or inhuman treatment, including biological experiments
sweats in Pokemon
Is it tho
i don't think you do anything unethical in pokemon
pokemon fits the bill
i think that other characters in pokemon do
phew, proceeds to shove 100 rare candies down a pikachu
