Yep i cant wait for TWEWY
TWASD
TWEWY Stand for The World Ends With You
despite how much i enjoyed twewy when it came out idk if im really interested in the sequel, i am kinda okay just letting twewy be a stand alone experience
I'm playing for the plot, personally
Wait they're releasing that on pc?
They said it was gonna come out this year
Nice
Another reason to not buy a switch now i just gotta wait for rise to be on pc next year
TWEWY sounds like "twenty" pronounced by little cat person or something
idk also why buy switch now, i'll probably wait for the discounts when that brighter switch thing will come out
I gotta play A plague Tale someday
Now is gonna free next week
Mothergunship looks like Borderlands Without plot
It's mindless fun
You make your guns based on how many slots you have
Other than size restriction
You can put 3 guns on one arm
It tickles my brain cause I love trying new builds on each mission
i kinda prefer tower of guns to mothergunship tbh
easier to pick up and play for a bit
(ToG dev co-developed mothergunship)
They like dem guns
what would you say theres a lot of variety between runs in this game? considering getting it but doesnt seem like there are too many guns to pick from
there are actually quite a few guns; some you can start with, and some can only be found in a run
there's a lot of variety in terms of that, the various upgrades, secrets, variable stages, etc.
it's very indie and very budget
but fun for what it offers
10/10 article
My isp somehow block that
Rogue remaster?
Rogue is a rougelite in this article. It's satire btw
Nope But a friend did and is loving it
I do applaud the creators tho. That they managed to remake their mod into a standalone game

well now I'm just depressed
I found an interesting game
It had a screen shake and screen flash setting that you could turn off
but your character still blinked rapidly and the screen still shook violently in cutscenes

I get really bad migraines from shake and flash
I have to be careful with some vidgem
TFW you are almost finished with your backlog of Short games so only ginormous JRPGs are left

I know I post ActiBlizz news perhaps too frequently but somehow it just keeps getting worse
Activision Blizzard CCO Fran Townsend, whose recent letter addressing the lawsuit was criticized by employees at the company and even CEO Bobby Kotick, is now under fire for this tweet. Multiple Activision Blizzard employees say Townsend has blocked them on Twitter for responding

Ok friends I need some help
I have about 30 bucks max to get a new pc controller
and I'd prefer one with like a breakaway cable
so you don't want wired?
or like a wired one but with a connector, so you can just grab it and go
I want a wired one
but one where you can use any usb charging cord
because otherwise from experience the ones where you can't remove the cord the cord breaks so fast
keyboard master race
Nah, keyboard master race. Especially for racing games. Trust me.
quarter circles in fighting games?
hmm i can't see a good controller with split wire but not bluetooth
yeah same
8BitDo is a premier 3rd party video game hardware company with a special focus on retro themed game controllers. Renowned for producing the highest quality retro controllers on the market, 8BitDo’s controller line has been referred to as, “a range of excellent retro-style game controllers” by The Verge.
but 8bitdo in general is quite solid
so I've gotten it down to 3 controllers
woops
posted a link too fast
oh yeah that Logitech has the classic status lol
bye xD see you in 5 mins
@slow drift you are a piece of work
I don't even know what that means but I'm sure a keyboard would be better. This has been a joke if that wasn't clear. But I genuinely don't know what quarter circle means
It's mostly used for fighting games directional inputs. Basically it's easier to do on a stick than a keyboard or controller.
Or so they say, I don't play fighting games xD
QFCs on keyboard are pretty doable, it's half-circles I've heard are the real pain
There's a reason people swear by hitboxes
what if, hear me out, you connect a wacom tablet and use that instead
just draw half a circle

Yes, that's a bit towards the higher end of sticks but not far out of standard
You pay a lot for brand, I feel, there are other options for a similar layout (including building your own)
I have a decent keyborad, a decent mouse, a decent controller, not thing too fancy. but im happy
Hello I am back and not a robot posting links I swear
Yeah you definitely don't need a stick for any reason whatsoever
Nah he's just doin his job
I didn't know there was a link rule
I like the curse rule when you get to see proxy yell at someone for using a no no word
the bot will auto flag a bunch of links posted in rapid succession as spam
may be a teeny bit inconvenient but is nice when scammers do pop through posting their scam links everywhere 🍵
oh completely agree
Hack G.U or Berseria, dunno which one start first
idk i say .hack simply bc nostalgia and i couldnt get into berseria but thats me
About to finish main story of shovel knight, i fear playing plague knight bc i suck at platforming with him
The only one im decent is specter
Zag as a Mii Fighter
Perhaps
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm 👀
I actually made Zag as a Miitopia character
but you can't use him because I refuse to pay for NSO
What's miitopia?
its kinda an rpg where you use mii faces
and the story is stopping the demon king from using your face
but since it all used mii faces you can get like "idol obama" and stuff like that
and its about seeing the miis react together in funny and wacky ways
its a cute game to watch people go through
Oh! Miitopia!!
Miitopia is fun!!
I got my hands on it yesterday and its all I've been playing
it is fun
but in my mind it's nothing without the ability to use other people's Miis
which you can't use without NSO
Yeah...
at the very least though, I can use my friends in the game
I have no friends to use so I just throw in characters from various medias
oof
I like to poop post in the game, it's hilarious
and that's why it's not cool that I can't do that without NSO
all of the characters i add are completely random because i use a wheel to pick for me
its very funny to see one whos usually composed and thoughtful sing about tomatoes
A wheel?
like one of those spinny wheels
pinwheel?
The good ol' spin wheel.
i cant send a pic because i dont have the permission to but you spin it and it lands on one of the choices
sorry not a pinwheel 😷 mb
Well I mean like
you have a wheel with characters on it? how do you choose the characters?
im not good at describing things sorry :(
oh like which characters rory chooses? and how rory goes about choosing the characters they choose?
I think another bigger spin wheel does the trick.
Or just by favorite characters.
yeah
i know miitopia is all about custom characters in an rpg
but thats about it
how many can you have? is there a cap?
idk i never played it
you can have a total of 4 team members! (If you include the character you choose at the start of the game which you play as throughout the game)
Plus all NPCs can be turned into any character of course.
Also hope if Royal did end up in the team he was mage!
So the protagonist and 3 others? makes sense
oh you can change all the npcs?
thats pretty great
I miss those mii games, they were always so wacky
HE DID ACTUALLY-
HOPEFULLY he was as useful as ever!
Since I know AI in Miitopia can be wacky sometimes and buy some hp bananas.
who is royal
Royal is character from Iconoclasts. Rory has him as their pfp.
idk what that is
Robin just wants to be a mechanic and help people, but without a license she’s a sinner in Mother’s eyes. Ever since picking up her wrench, the world has been going nuts and she's wanted to bolt it back together. Now Penance is raining down on everyone she loves and One Concern agents are after her.But something big is going on – bigger than dro...

very cool
Iconoclasts is pretty good
you people were on about miitopia?
Jesus of all games to get new DLC, I didn't expect this one
Boat, climb, solve and explore in the beautiful ruins of a sunken world.A drowned city, crumbling tips of skyscrapers stubbornly standing above the waves. Deserted villages, now inhabited by enigmatic creatures. And beneath the surging ocean waits an anguished, angry presence.Submerged: Hidden Depths is a non-combat third-person “relaxploration”...
Coming Soon
Not only is old af but also got mixed to negative reviews at release
Old AF
2015
👴
Well, yeah

I will only accept decade or older as old
So I'm old
Omg I love submerged
Such a beautiful and relaxing game and the soundtrack is amazing too, I had a lot of fun getting all of the achievements and sailing around in it
I thought hidden depths was going to be exclusive to stadia but I guess not anymore?
Sparred with a friend in SC6 last night, when this golden moment happened.
My character's the one in orange
I watched 10 minutes of pokemon unite gameplay and oh gods it's so clunky
u realize it's deliberately aimed at a more younger audience right
like, everyone enjoys pokemon but ultimately the primary audience is children
Yeah but also $45 for 1/3 of a setup for one character is not child friendly.
But as for the gameplay itself, I think it's fine for a MOBA on mobile
The P2W is not

Mechanically, it looks alright.
P2W though. For a genre that lives and dies on its roster
it's mobile? I thought it was on Switch
it's on both
Can you elaborate?
$45 for 1/3 of a setup for a single character? What?
you can spend 45$ on premium currency for which then you do a thing (I forget the specifics) to level up an equipable item to the max lvl of 30
yes
I could buy Hades twice over with that money!
So each character has 3 item slots. So technically you can reuse some items for different characters, depending on playstyle. The strict 1/3 for each character is certainly a bit misleading I admit because of this re-equipping of items but still, starting out you still need 3 for your first "main."
Your options of getting a maxed items (which grants in game combat bonus like health, damage, cd, etc) are
$45
Or
400+ days playing the game
sounds like p2w
its very P2W you literally buy permanent powerups with money
I guess in some sense it's capped P2W
But still
$100+ dollar for a full set is outrageous
true and also true
was thinking of giving it a shot since my fave Absol is in it, but realized one probably needs Switch Online...
huh , guess that makes sense
it's almost like Switch Online and similar programs are a scam or something
Switch Online (and pokemon bank) are legit such scams. Switch Online basically paywalled a previously free feature.
Just to clear that up, you actually don't need Nintendo Online for free2play games like Pokemon Unite or Sky, fortunately
its not p2w everyone who is saying that is comparing a lv1 item to a lv30 item. you can easily get lv 20 items without paying and the difference between lv20 and lv30 item is nothing
Its still stupid you can buy the upgrade but its not as bad as everyone says it is
still a bad game though lmao
Free to play, pay to be competitive
Since the amount of payment you need is capped, technically it's not paying and winning, you need skills, still
But to be competitive you need to pay
not really because again the difference between what you can get through playing and paying is not a huge difference. especially now that the game has been out for a while there are plenty of people who have hit the same power spike that the paying players did
For the record I'm not defending the game in any way its still disgusting that you can pay for upgrades. but it has minimal impact at this point
are you sure? because someone did the calc and a player who spends nothing would take more than a year to get a maxed item
the game is out for 2 months
if you grind 24/7 then maybe
but who spends 24/7 grinding for one set?
and if you want to compare level 20 vs say 30, that's still a large discrepancy
its really not. yes its a larger number but its not a huge difference. than say a lv1-30 item
also plenty of people have hit the top of the leader board without spending a cent
but its not a huge difference
I think it is. And even if it's not, you would never want any disadvantage playing a MOBA game
that's what competitive means
"People act stunned when Nintendo releases something overwhelmingly greedy, as if such behaviour is only for the EAs and the Activisions of the world" todays jimquisition lmao which. yeah. like i said, i'm not particularly surprised bc ninty's previous mobile games are already monetized to hell, and apparently everyone's already forgotten about those
any future mobile game nintendo releases will have vile levels of monetization in them, that at this point is simply fact. i guess its not talked about as much bc its nintendo? but like. they're not above it
linking the vid:
https://youtu.be/ws0DlMvGEbA
i didnt link the vid bc they curse pretty early on in it but yeah if you watch jq anyway you know where to go
I think it's probably because a lot more people hold on to positive perceptions of Nintendo, y'know, form the 90s, and the GameCube era, also the Wii U kinda
Oh I hid it to not clog chat
doesnt even have to be mobile games, just look at skyward sword
$10 more than the original price for a decade old game
oh yeah that whole locking QOL behind amiibo thing everyone already forgot about
Also Super Mario 3D limited run that apparently didn't have features that emulators had
huh?
i mean i grew up in those eras, im a 90s kid but like. idk i get nostalgia and all that but more people gotta stop giving them a pass because theyre nintendo and inherently "child friendly" or whatever
yeah
I'm not saying "wrong because x" I'm saying "it's because x"
easy to mix them up
i think the past few years theres been more people disgruntled about ninty's practices but overall everyone is really quick to forget about the shoddy things they do, or act like they're better than everyones favourite punching bags like ea or smth
at the end of the day nintendo is a business and businesses are not our friends lol
well. corporations are not our friends, we'll say
yeah, I get that
i dont hate nintendo. you can call this stuff out without hating them
some people have this mindset that if you like something you're never allowed to be negative about it ever or else that means you definitely hate it, which is. juvenile.
I agree
Super Mario 3D All-Stars, where Ninty ported 3 old Mario games into a switch cart (64, Sunshine and Galaxy iirc) and sold it for 60 bucks, with minimal add-on content and QoL features that emulators had since forever. Then made it a limited edition run even for the digital version
ohhhhhhhh
for some reason I thought you were talking about 3D World + Bowser's Fury
regarding the video, i understand the point about "pokemon since its inception has been designed to exploit children" but i dont think back then it was like. deliberate maliciousness. the trading was part of the design, the concept of pokemon was inspired by literally collecting and trading bugs. a few version exclusives is annoying but we made a lot of friends on the playground that way, looking to trade for pokemon we didnt have. i think the series continuing to engage in version exclusives when it really has no right to do so 8 generations in is whats exploitative
a lot of pokemon's initial marketing when red/blue came out emphasized the trading aspect and it was something we liked to do to trade pokemon between friends and take care of them and stuff because there werent really other games that let you do something like that as effectively, so i disagree that it was designed from the onset to exploit kids. the trading in the first games were part of its charm. but tech has advanced enough such a thing is obsolete and pokemon company still engages in it
why would it be more exploitative if the barriers preventing people from getting version exclusives is obsolete?
doesn't that make collecting all the pokemon easier? I'd say what's more exploitative is porting that concept to Pokemon Go, since a few pokemon are made to be egg exclusives to push incubator sales
its more cynical to me because there's no reason 20 years into the series people still need to trade for version exclusives other than $$$
the concept of version exclusive anything in the current point of gaming is an obsolete ideal that really has no place in the current environment
why?
can you give me any good reason we should keep version exclusives and two different but identical games that have bare minimum differences
I can't, good point
but what if it was not a bare minimum difference, but a more pronounced difference
so why was it more okay 20 years ago
👆
nostalgia, part of the charm, like i said. which i have just fully acknowledged is nostalgia. but my point is that in its inception i do not think it was an intentionally malicious act. at this part of the series's life cycle, it is
pokemon got lucky and became a massive success, it was not made with the intent of being such
no one makes a new ip thinking, this thing is going to be super popular and well loved all around the world, which is why i say i dont think the trading/exclusives in its inception were deliberately meant as some maliciously exploitative thing, but the property is now like THE highest grossing ip in the world, which changes how you perceive it dramatically
if any of what im saying makes sense
so the same action is more acceptable when it's a small franchise trying to generate sales/talking points, less so when the franchise is larger and can have enough revenue anyway
I remember being very annoyed at having to play 3 versions of a MMBN games to get all the sick chips(probably less than 10 exclusive per ver)
maybe it was only 2, but regardless
lol
because by releasing 2 games with basically the same content, there has to be an intent on driving sales behind it, but the label we put on that action is different now that pokemon is a large franchise
i think we need to remember that the gaming landscape 20 years ago and the gaming landscape now are two entirely different beasts
also we should consider prices for GameBoy and prices for Swish
even with inflation and stuff
I think the "Nintendo is more exploitative" now argument is still stronger when based on other aspects (like prices, as stated above)
and pokemon bank
they're trying to milk the collection aspect harder with every generation
sorry that 11 year old me thought it was fun to get together with friends during lunch and do trades because in the late 90s it was a novel concept and something that was very easy for children to bond over because this was two decades ago and multiplayer options in games were limited on multiple levels, which is why, again, keeping nostalgia in mind, i'm more forgiving to the initial conception of the two version idea, but not to its continued existence, because the gaming industry as a whole has advanced beyond the need to keep such archaic ideals ¯_(ツ)_/¯
but it isn't any less fun now to trade with friends than before
for that you have to have friends
or friends who play the same games as you
we have internet and global trading now lmao there's just. really no reason the two version model needs to exist any longer beyond the fact pokemon has always done it
and most of those who were into pokemons when i was a kid, now have jobs, families, kids and credits
at the very least i think we are mostly in agreement that the two version model is bollocks
or whatever the heck sun/moon/ultra sun/ultra moon did
yeah it was always questionable
one can enjoy something and also acknowledge it's questionableness/shortcomings
i got to a point i just started waiting for the inevitable third version if i was going ot pick up a game, and then they were like, hmm actually we are no longer doing a third version
and i have still yet to figure out what in the world are Yellow/Crystal/Emerald and so on versions
yellow was an anime tie in
Anyone here remember P-O-X handheld games from back in the day? red blue and green versions of the exact same game, with like 10 parts out of 150 exclusive to each. probably one of the first multiplayer wireless games I can think of. And when you won, you would literally steal any part from the loser you wanted, and they would get it deleted from their inventory lol
not familiar with that
googles, are these like those uh. the scannerz thing. like not exactly like that but in a similar vein
i think the packaging is vaguely familiar to me but thats about it
this day i'd call deliberate multiplayer a bad thing for gaming
when some part of the content is hidden behind it
like, in dead space 3
video game companies thinking every game they make needs to have multiplayer shoehorned into it <3
sir i hate playing with people
im not young anymore, playing with randos gets on my nerves, stop making everything multiplayer </3
same era as scannerz
but this was like an IR burst style multiplayer it was amazing at the time haha, even though it sucked it ruled
when everyone needed link cables to hook up gameboys
i think there were a few of those types of games that came out around that time but scannerz is the only one i remember because of the whole going to the store and scanning barcodes to get monsters thing
as someone who was The Weird Kid in school, shoehorned multiplayer should not be a thing, Ever
you could play against randos in the lunch room and not even know who, it was sick
I remember scanners very well, since my mom used to drag me to the grocery store for an hour and a half each week, Id zip down isles on my heelies and scan all the barcodes. pull infinty coupons from the dispensers scanning those too lmao
I'm fine with optional multiplayer added on to a game that's fun as single player. see: AoE, WC3
those are rts games and inherently are expected to come with multiplayer i think
i never play rts multiplayer 😔
yeah this was way less complex. it was a grid art dungon crawler that rewared you with pieces to boost stats and stuff, and you COULD turn on multiplayer and challenge people, or not.
yeah but the single player mode is equally good.
and me neither
I would literally take graph paper and draw out the dungeons so I knew which paths I already took and stuff. On a 20 dollar piece of junk. Then would beat up my friend in the game and steal his best pieces and have him not talk to me for a couple days each time hhaaha. Ohhh 3rd grade and POX I miss you lolol
man... the days of game manuals... making your own maps for games on grid paper....
"POX is Hasbro's new wireless electronic game. It is geared for boys (and girls) ages 8 to 13. Using mouse-sized, radio-controlled "POX Containment Units" with three-inch LCD screens, the goal of the player is to save the earth from the spread of an alien DNA by firing off more toxic strains of the spores via heads, torsos, and tails and across three different-colored species: Spino, Cycro and Plasmo.
Players within 30 feet of one another (POX is a LOT more fun when playing against other players, rather than alone) automatically detect and infect one another -- whether they like it or not. The youngsters like the "sneaky" aspect to this game, not realizing that this is educational in itself, in that they are developing and honing their strategy skills, which is an added bonus to parents and to the children themselves.
They "win" libraries of superior POX strains, which they store and use in future wars. I don't wish to leave you under the impression that these games are exceedingly violent, I would term them rather "exciting". The players are fighting aliens (which are reminiscent of Tamagachi and Pokemon) rather than "eachother", that carry viruses, and also strive to prevent becoming infected themselves.
There's no cutting-edge wireless technology here, no "hard-core" gaming strategy involved, and relatively tame graphic violence since the screen is small"
nostalgia is flowing hard right now hahaha
it's like both pro and con of the internet. much better resources, but also less opportunities to make your own stuff
i think one thing i miss about early internet is all the wacky pokemon theories, you just cant have that anymore because information is so instant. pokegods sure was a Time in early pokemon internet culture
if hades came out many years ago I would've hand-drawn flowcharts of boon trees and the stats of everything instead of just thinking "eh they're just on the wiki/one of the spreadsheets here"
yeah lmao
I still made an excel sheet of duo boon requirements for that prophecy LOL
physical game guides were the best bc you didnt have much internet access and you could take the books with you to flip through during lunch and stuff
I laso remember seeing the SSJ6 "japan leaked" dbz characters that were basically sprites someone made and then posted as this will be in the US in a few years. and we beleived it, becasuse we were using aol free internet disk trials on our gateway computers
early internet was honestly charming for how bad it was
They even pull the fate one week earlier so I'm so hyped
And 7 days after Library of Ruina
That one got delayed 12 hours before release 2 months ago :/
i wanna know if death's door is good bc you play a birb and that is of course very tatzcore
It's from the same people than Titan Souls. I heard
Yeah
Death's door is very good imo
I have a few gripes with it, none of which get in the way of my enjoyment of the game. If it does the it was minimal
Bonus points: the ost is also fantastic
@stable kindle
speaking of boss rush. I picked up eldest souls yesterday. bout to go in on that tomorrow
Niceu, let us know what you think of it ^_^
man you said deaths door and for some reason I was thinking deaths gambit. still gotta get into that one too lol
WOW I just watched some of the first 15 minutes of "grime" and Jesus. that is not at all what I expected the game play to be like after that cinematic trailer I saw the other day lol
Death's gambit looks like it's fun but also fairly punishing at the same time
and here I am
trying to get myself play Ender lilies
but the music makes me sad and affects my performance
sad in what way?
hauntingly beautiful
oooh niceu :3
im super fickle and picky and i just cant get behind lillies. I know its probably amazing. but i just... idk lol, it doesnt look appealing to me for some reason
I'm super excited in about 2 months deaths gambit is getting a huge overhaul completely revamping the game
wut is that a fact??
maybe ill make some progress in my ps5 upgraded ff7 until then and enjoy the revamped version
There are a TON of new features and changes coming with Death's Gambit: Afterlife! Listen and watch as Jean, the game's director, details the various aspects of the new content coming to Afterlife! https://serenityforge.com/games/deaths-gambit-afterlife

They say it's dropping on switch first then in like a month on pc then ps? A month after that
yeah, that's what is said in the video
Oh didn't know they said it in the video
I was just saying what I remember from the steam announcement
tis all good
This article is pretty wild
Damn that makes FFX a Mario game
Everybody do the Tidus
I heard of the chainsaw blade
For once I'm all in with nomura's crazy idea
"My friends are my power"
revving chainsaw
while playing Katana Zero: it's alright and looks fantastic but idk if it's a big fave
after finishing it: wait nevermind I kinda love it
I enjoyed it but I don't think its a top 10 to me
BREAKING: Blizzard president J. Allen Brack is leaving the company, Activision Blizzard just told staff. Jen Oneal and Mike Ybarra will take over as "co-leaders of Blizzard."
Filed to Bloomberg Terminal, story will be live shortly
ok but are all the devs still there?
I really hope Dreamscaper would scratch that Hades itch
Other than the ones that made their own studio? Probably
what about Activision president though?
rip in pieces blizzard president you will not be missed 💖
rest in rip
do you guys ever just
realise you're actually bad at a game after sinking way too long into it and just
give up
yes
absolutely
not necessarily the give up part but most games yeah
toots my kazoo dropped a game after 1500 hr not bc i was bad at it (i was but im bad at all games thats not the point) but bc the community actively made me dislike being online lol
I have a problem more so I get bored of the game or game the system too much in it to point I get bored so I no longer enjoy playing it due to simply overcoming obstacles from the get go.
usually i give up games i'm bad at as soon as possible, which are almost every multiplayer game
but if they have singleplayer experience i still enjoy, i can still dedicate hundreds of hours into it
just never touching online part
yeah it's just kinda odd for me because i always wanted to, like
do all the final challenges and stuff
but i've hit a brick wall on a boss and can't make any progress, can't find any info out there on the problem i'm having
and what struck it was that i ended up asking some really good players today and
well, to cut out the insults and mockery, the literal only piece of advice i got was that i'm bad at the game and won't make it
so, as much as i don't want to, i'm putting it down, because i can see no other explanation than that they're right
i-
oh god i
just got banned from the server
....guess that's it then
Sometimes I just say screw it and see the video with all the bosses and the ending
if i
..
hit enter too soon
anyway
was gonna say if i'm being honest, they did you a favour
if the only "advice" people can give you is to insult you, theyre not really worth it in the first place if thats the kind of environment they foster
nah, it wasn't even the game the server's focused on, they're usually great about stuff like this, and i think at least one of those dudes left before the mods went to take a look
only place i really talked to anyone, too, so that sucks
how on earth did you get banned if theyre generally better about this stuff then
no idea
all i can imagine is the one who stayed managed to paint me as the bad guy
eh
no changing it
Anyone here in the dead cells discord
not me because i suck at dc
Option
Are we allowed to post links to kickstarters here if it's to fund an indie game?
Sure
personally, I'm looking forward to this one
hoping they somehow get the last stretch goal
only 5 days remaining though
so I'm doing what I can to get more eyes on this project
lead dev is the same guy behind Unworthy, which was a decent experience.
so it's not some no-name-yet dev at least.
Hell yeah, took a NG run at the Orphan of Kos in Bloodborne to practice for helping a friend next week, got him in two
when will Persona 3 be playable again...? 😭
Can you name all Water/Ground types off the top of your head?

Phase 1&2: VANISH INTO DAAAARK
Final phase: I once had some SWEET MEMORIESSS
Swampert, Barboach, Whiscash, Wooper, Quagsire
the Shellos line is Ground/Water I think too
aaaa I loved Gastrodon...
how much do they need?
what cliff?
help him

For a Pokemon whose signature or popular moves are Precipice Blades and Stone Edge, it's funny.
fwiw, Swampert is the coolest Water/Ground. Although goofy Whiscash is close (also the whole Namazu beast thing)
for the last stretch goal, 1 million Canadian dollars, they have raise around 824,383 Canadian dollars so far
5 days left in the kickstarter
next stretch goal is a new area at 850k CA$
as of this comment anyways
Quagsire best water type
God i replayed Sanctum 2

is there a change in steam where games with limited profile features show up on your profile again? because i swear theyre showing up in my achievement showcase again
has anyone played spiritfarer? how did you like it?
LOVED IT
I felt teary eyed at the end
gameplay wise how did you like it? my friends is recommending it but im bad at platformers
also curious to see spiritfairer opinions
To be honest I knew I would loved it back when I played the first demo back in March
The game is very light on Platforming tho
It's mostly building a ship and relationships
And traveling
And fishing
Anyhow today starts my most important week for gaming where three of my most anticipated games release back to back
jsyk the game is still being updated with new content so it might be worth waiting until its all implemented (i think it will be by the end of the year?) to play it
Yeah, I'll probably replay it too back when it gets done
The game is still a 100% complete experience tho
spiritfarer?
im so bad at coming back to games when they get new content updates... i need to come back to dandara and submerged

Oh and Death Trash comes out tomorrow
Death Trash features a world where cosmic horrors long for humanity but meet punks with shotguns. Influenced by post-apocalyptic, horror, and cyberpunk classics but with a fresh personality of its own. Death Trash combines the crunch and depth of old-school, role-playing classics with the controls and game feel of modern games.GameplayDeath Tras...

it looks like a pretty game I know that much
i misunderstood
it's a game i've procrastinated buying for a while now. had no idea more content was on the way
Its okay! ^^
it is, as its developers call it, a cozy management game about dying
Yeah, you are the new Reaper after Charon retires
Management games and death? What's more to love!
I personally loved Building the ship
My fav part of the game
Spiritfarer is one of the few games I reccommend everyone to try at least once
I'll add it to my list..
Anyhow I'm starting Hack G.U finally after years
There is a bit of platforming but overall the gameplay is very forgiving. You don’t have to be good at really anything to progress the game except... well your willingness to progress the story.
Also Gamedec comes out in September too
That's good for me because I suck at video games
That one either is GOTY ot sucks
rip my computer can't run the demo
oh spiritfarer...
i'm still sad how my experience with that game got soured by that one awful character
https://store.steampowered.com/app/917720/Gamedec/
Comes with a demo
Gamedec is a single-player non-combat cyberpunk isometric RPG. You are a game detective, who solves crimes inside virtual worlds. Use your wits to gather info from your witnesses and suspects, get to the bottom of deceptive schemes, save lives, and investigate the extraordinary relationships between virtual worlds and their inhabitants. Just the idea of being a MMO detective amuses me
part of the "bad at games, plays them anyway" gang
the only games im good at are the sims, pokemon, and coh...
coh?
the only game i'm good at is windwaker
windwaker... good game
oh I missed spiritfarer talk
still interested in spiritfairer onions

well I can quickly that story wise great, it's easy on gameplay, but there will be need for some resource collecting for stuff so going from one place to another to get stuff done will occur, but it's not bad. overall good.
spiritfarer is great, it's just that one character that bummed me out because her mission was just too difficult
what's there to say, it's a big farm on a ship with a bunch of talking animal friends, but you're also the boatman on the river styx and they're all dead
good game
personally I don't mind spoilers btw
i love farms
not sure how much you really can spoil in spiritfarer, there isn't one big twist, it's very personal and about the bond you specifically form to the characters
Yeah, it's pretty much experiencing the overall personal connection to the characters and their backstories of who they were. There is no like big story going on, just stories not connected to each other of characters and some side quests, which are on more sillier side.
Looks like the devs want to do something about it. https://steamcommunity.com/app/972660/discussions/0/3149682775495114523/#c3149682775497502738
I saw another discussion about this dated in October or so, but I see that the developers do lurk on this page, and I really do want to know ... why, in such a chill, relaxing, wonderful game about metaphor and story, would you put these stress-inducing time trials at the end? The other two events are frustrating enough, but by this point in the...
don’t think they have added this yet
it made me so angry i just never did her or that dnd guy and just went to the end of the game
game ended on a very sour note :/

I played ni no kuni years ago and I remember the story being linear? kinda what you'd expect from a standard jrpg

it was linear yes

Everspace is awesome
i played hero siege like.. according to steam, 6 years ago lol. im sure a ton has changed since then, i was lukewarm to it when i played. it has over 20k reviews so i guess it did something right over the years. heroes of hammerwatch, idk, i've played the original hammerwatch, but its been years since then too, i remember liking it though
I’m just concerned if there’s some rare missable loot or side quests
Done with plague knight campaign
Now im missing specter of torment and king of cards

Today, I have something a little different for you guys. A lot of you have been requesting me to cover other games, and I thought I might do a little experimenting by doing a "video essay" esque type of content. Namely, comparing the difficulty of Dead Cells with Hades, which are both very influential games in the roguelike genre. I know what th...
I'm biased but this video makes me
"Better difficulty design" is that why i found dead cells more frustrating to stick to as a mediocre player while hades was more accessible to me
i think i actually made a comment in that vid with my opinions on it lol
I respect his opinions but there are a decent amount of double standards in the video.
For example: 30+ heat is mostly about stats bump and limited healing in Hades which makes it boring. But DC Boss Cells limiting healing suddenly makes the game more varied because you need to approach it differently with different paths.
At least the guy is knowledgeable about both games so kudos to him.
mans called guan yu bad and thats when i went "huh, ok ig :/"
like honestly in terms of difficulty scaling i find it that hades makes it difficult by limiting you and forcing you to learn fundamentals while dead cells gives you more options to handle the harder stuff
Yup I rage quit because of the no hit door. Not a single mention of that. I understand that this is "late game only" where unlocks aren't a problem.
But if you title your video "difficulty design" you are misleading people when you only discuss the late game which less than half the player base will see for both games.
Anyhow I was starting a clear save of Dreamscaper
I like how you can skip already defeated bosses
oh yeah I seen that video, I don't really agree with the video due to pure fact it doesn't factor how pretty much they deal with different things to factor in and aim for different stuff, they have their own weaknesses, but so the strengths. So saying one is better is like "oh I just think this one does a better to appealing to me mechanically".
Saying "30+ heat is only about stat bumps and limiting healing" also completely ignores how the pact is incredibly customisable even into high heat to make something that is difficult but also possible for the maximum number of people doing it.
It also reeks of a fundamental misunderstanding of the purpse of the pact to begin with
dead cells is hard
but hard games are fun
so i like it
even tho im mediocre to below average at games
\o/
Crowsworn reached the 850k cad goal, Not going to post the kickstarter link here yet again, just happy to see that an area will be added to the game post launch
question is, will it reach 1 million in the last 4 days for the campaign?
Nice!
last stretch goal is animated cutscenes, like the trailer intro.
? i checked the kickstarter, its only at 680k?
It's in your currency. On the right to the amount is a circle with dollar sign inside it - when you move cursor over it it will show the amount in CAD.
lol what, he says that the video is about 30+ heat in hades and then goes on to say he can consistently beat it between 15 and 20 and has only once done 32 heat for the prize
Saw this. Juicy stuffs to make convos for days
Imo, Hades does have a better difficulty system, just because of how open it is, but it also comes with the problem of too many choices
Even in this channel, beginners still shy away from TD and UC on the pact since it looks like it is more difficult than the conditions at the top of the pact list (extra monster health, damage, density, etc)
When the truth is, those two are probably the easiest conditions to start with
DC tho, is straight up simple step-by-step difficulty system
well at least reading down the comments many people seem to think that DC is more frustrating to play than Hades.
The catch is, it ramps up harder
2BC, bro lmao
and then one guy just keep parroting "people like to to win" as if that's a reason why DC is better than Hades
because you lose more often
Biggest hurdle in DC
Damn, Dreamscaper is addicting af
Didn’t looked at the comments, I don’t want to
lmao you can do 32 without buffing the enemies much by putting stuff in the bottom half
^ this
What I think is that Hades doesn’t explain this and left it completely up to the player
Which can be confusing ig
Idk
in the video they say you can win consistently on Hades (but not in DC), which is kinda true. i can indeed win consistently on 32 heat, say 80+% win rate, if not more. they also say people like to win more than they lose. this implies that Hades is not challenging enough, people only like it because it pretends to be challenging.
but in the same vid, they also say they can consistently clear 5BC so, like, is DC not hard enough then because you can win consistently?
This is basically the byproduct of a customizable difficulty
32 heat can be as hard or as easy as the conditions you use, and it can vary wildly depending on player choice
Probably an error on his side because it looks like he’s saying that everyone runs the same pact setups
this convo just reminded me of why I dropped Yoshi's Island despite being a platformer fan - perfect clears in some stages need you to basically no-hit past a certain point too
the only thing i agree with him is that DC does have more paths and biomes, you aren't locked into only 4 biomes and that's indeed something DC does better than Hades.
but that's not difficulty, that's just diversity in general, which Hades is slightly less so compared to other roguelites if im being honest.
True, it’s just trying to model the game to conform to varying play styles, if that makes sense
Some builds in DC require you to just not go into certain biomes just because you’ll have a harder time there because of said build
but yeah i feel like we are preaching to the choir
go buy xcom. it's a good roguelite
Differences between a customizable difficulty vs a traditional fixed one
one can kiiinda argue its also "customizable" since there's no penalty to not getting perfect clears
Maybe I'll play it again... *twitching fingers
would agree that DC is harder than Hades in terms of skill requirement.. and it's much harder to complete a run
but both are hardly comparable tbh.. too different playstyles
Here's a question for you. What's your favorite game box art?
you know I've never paid much attention to box art
I suppose PMD red and blue rescue team, just because of the reference that the 2 boxes are 2 halves of a single picture, with Blue (for DS) being top and Red (for GBA) being the bottom half, because in the DS, DS carts go on the top and GBA carts go on the bottom
Anyone here tried Grime or Death Trash?
stupid question, but what is DC?
Dead Cells
derp lol
or District of Columbia, depending on context
ofcourse
I googled hades vs dc since I was seeing compairasons, and it just came up with DC comics stuff lmao
im sure the dc universe could beat up hades
I have been having some fun with eldest souls, pretty neat game.

These translations are… weird
Bob's youer uncle
I love Mr Drippy's accent.
What accent is this, exactly? Classic English?
It's a Welsh accent!
In the original Japanese dub, he had an Osakan accent - that was supposed to help players know that he was kind of a funny character. That would be lost on English-speaking folks, though, so they decided to substitute it for a Welsh accent.
And I think they did a fine job with it. Honestly, his jokes get better and better the further you progress through the game.
How do these people make these but the site is always down whenever I go to it
Interesting tidbit
Youer welcome!
well, the LEGO Harry Potter Collection is on Switch
that's as old as you can get nowadays
Reminds me to Acce Attorney where that photograph lady was a Osakan in Japanese but they gave her an exaggerated Southern Accent in the translation.

character voice is one of harder things to convey in localization. like there's this japanese satire novel with title "Wagahai wa Neko De Aru" which is translated to "I am a cat".
When jp people see this title, it's instantly momerable, because 'wagahai' is a grandiose, (pretentious even) first person pronoun. It's archaic and only nobility would use it. How a translator would convey all that in a title, I have no idea 😆
"Sir Cat, that I am"
In my language it's possible to translate, but for English.. No idea
Even though old English is full of fancy pronouns

but i guess, it's.. Japan only for now?
yeah for now
ahh... so a very pretentious character would say Аз?
it's a very archaic as well, and in most people's experience, used by important persons
it's not even written like that, but this keyboard doesn't have necessary symbols anymore
nice. i dont know for sure, but i heard russian literature have nice prose

Just got caught up with the hands-on week
People seems to caught on my initial thoughts on it
Real price point is $530, not $400
Still though, looks like something people don’t mind
I’ve seen people defending it is $400
My more tech-enthusiast friends all say it’s a good step for Linux gaming
They were literally not interested at all at first, until I mentioned it ran Linux
you definitely wont be getting the most out of it at the 400 dollar price point, but the 400 dollar one is still substantially more of a machine than a switch.
yeah, but
emulators
and tbh the Switch and the Steam Deck are two different products, they have some overlap but i dont think they are competing for the same market
Well, yeah, it will always be that way, since you’re already shelling out $100 more than a Switch
If you really want the best the Steam Deck offers though, the faster storage is really what you’ll want rather than emmc
Best bang for your buck

Hi
Lea!
hi
Everyone’s been rather bummed with how Fantasian is an Apple Arcade exclusive right now, meanwhile I’ve been here, subscribed to AA and have the game installed since it came out, yet never have touched it since then
Since I have my Switch, I almost never game on my phone anymore, aside from some occasional quick fix of auto-chess games
Still pretty bumped world of demons is AA exclusive
That as well
I hadn't even heard of this until you brought it up and I'm already annoyed it exists
Some of these AA exclusives does eventually drop on other more traditional platforms, like the Switch, but it’s a long wait
Oh boy imagine we start seeing Steam Deck exclusives 😟
i feel like steam deck isn't gonna be very popular, i don't get the impression there's a very high demand for handheld devices
Idk, people are pretty hype for it, especially the low-spec gaming crowd
It’s pretty much a cheap PC setup, or looks like it, idk really
It will certainly help to boost sales!

If it will have price of a low-tier laptop, then maybe.. But f it's price will be comparable with switch's then idk.. Switch still would have more attention
True
I think the point of the steam deck isn't to have exclusives, it's to be a more powerful switch like thing that can play most of the not insane demands steam library, and emulate tbh
Tbh, the Steam Deck is really for people who isn’t really into Nintendo and more into Steam, same like what you say
I mean, most games that people want to play is on both platforms these days
Even all (or maybe almost all?) the games they demo for the Steam Deck is also available on the Switch
Control is cloud-only
So, I think it’s more for people who isn’t too deep into the Nintendo ecosystem and was already deep on Steam instead
Hence, catered for different audiences
Plus, low-spec gaming pc, that is also a handheld, super big savings as you don’t need a second device, it’s a one device for all, I guess. This one is definitely just my two cents
Yeah like I for one am not to crazy for Nintendo. Don't care about pokemon. Smash is emulatable, and mh rise is getting a steam port early next year. So the deck is perfect for someone like me, who has a PC and ps5 for high demand stuff. And wants to have my steam library(I love pixel games and stuff like Hades and that tier of game) and emulate on the go without lugging around a full laptop. So for ME, it's ideal. Glad mine ships December lol
It’s already August and they say the hardware they’re showing off right now is still isn’t final, yet first orders ships at December
I can see why people wouldn't be as hype as me, but for me personally it checks alot more boxes than a switch does for not much more. And I can run clip studio paint and stuff like that on it. No brainer for me
How many did they already sell off via pre-orders?
Understandable
Probably insane amounts. People thinking it's not gonna be that popular are crazy. Wether it's good or not is a different discussion, but the demand is absurd right now and will only be dropped if it has major issues
And it seems like every time there's more info made available and more hands on time is had, only more and more positives are coming from those things. I'd have expected major flaws to come to light, with people being able to be the first to blow up the deck for "this major issue" when everyone else is praising it. And that surprisingly hasn't happened yet. I won't hold my breath to hard, but it's looking promising
Well, yeah, because so far only the press has had their hands-on time on it
I doubt there will be major issues tbh, and even the Switch has major issues, but hey, it still sells
Right. I'm pretty pumped regardless. I look at it as, I only have 5 down, if before launch it turns out to be ass, I just won't buy it and get my 5 back. Or if it's not ass, but not great, I'll dust craigslist it and get a free couple hundred dollars since I'm getting first wave. Or it'll be exactly what I hope it is and I'll have this awesome thing lol. Either way, no risk, high reward. So why not

this was the Bionicle dark souls game, right?
Apparently that's the other one, Quest for Mata Nui
No idea what this one will play like
The only vivid memory of Bionicle game is that third person shooter game
I think it's Bionicle Heroes?
I think so
I remembered when you beat the game
You can play it again as the bosses
But it's just replaying levels
Yes the lego toys
oh my god
Some people are deeply into bionicle, apparently there's a lot of lore to dive through
thats so cool
Many bionicle fans have dreams where they go to a store and see bionicles on the shelves again
i could never get into it
Me neither
I was an avid gamer on lego dot com back in the day though
And I played a few bionicle games
I only ever played Bionicle Heroes
me too
Waiting for no more heroes 3
In MHW, you can make an auto message when a certain action/event happened like, your teammate fainted. I put "Another One Bites The Dust" whenever someone fainted. Thing was, they censored the Bites. So it displayed "Another One ***** The Dust"
Which makes it a lot more inappropriate than it actually is
so I got this at midday
laughed pretty hard when I uncovered it from the parcel wrapping
oh my god
i forgot entirely that was even a thing, i remember hearing about it a couple years back
isnt that the one the weapons are characters or is that smth else im thinking of
yeah!!
was in development for quite a while
all I remember was thinking that it vaguely reminded me of transistor so I got it
2b
Saved
ive never once played a final fantasy game, and i want to get into it, which one should i get first
Hope is the last thing you lose
