the first few missions are always boring
since you don't have any of the good stuff and game throws only basic sectoids at you with some berzerkers and thin doods at you every now and then

Children of Morta has pretty good story, but the gameplay felt repetitive and there was more grinding than challenge imo, so if you're looking for good fighting in a game and replaybilty, you might be disappointed here. If you're looking to immerse yourself in the world, get to know characters and focus on the lore, then CoM should be a good fit.

After 40 hours of really trying to get into the game, I think Dead Cells just isn't for me.
My cycle goes like this: 30-40 no hit kill spree -> lose the spree to an off-screen projectile or burrowing enemy
-> lose out on unlocks and equipment -> give up.
I don't outright die and I understand that the bonus equipment probably isn't needed to win. But man the incentive in this game is just not fun, not for me.
It takes the "just don't get hit bro" mentality to another level (and yeah, let's not mention the speedrun gate). I'm out.

yeah lol, i tried to put Dead Cells into my "roguelite replay rotation." i like having comfort games i can get back to times to times, sometimes i can get used to a game so much it's "zen" to play.
the current list include Darkest Dungeon, The Binding of Isaac, Hades, Into the Breach, Enter the Gungeon, and of course, XCOM (yes, i treat it as a roguelite).
but i just can't with DC. the game doesn't bring me "zen," it makes me disappointed and feel quite punished for every mistake i made, no matter how small. no "zen" in that.
