If you like Hades you'll probably like Bastion, Which is also from Supergiant. It's kinda old so some polish gets lost overtime but it's still a great game.
Plus it's on sale for like 3 bucks on steam.

it's soulslike-ish in a way, the cryptic storytelling, the interconnected world with shortcuts (i dont remember actually if Hollow Knight has this?). But combat mechanic wise, it doesnt have the stamina management of souls games

Hollow Knight is nonlinear enough that it's hard to tell shortcuts from "regular cuts" but I think there's at least a few that qualify.

I thought the soulslike referred more to the death/recovery mechanic where you drop all your stuff and have to collect it again when you die, on top of the dense/interconnected world

doesnt really matter if thats the issue you specifically take issue with or not, thats going to be a primary reason most complaints happen. everyone has their own specific characters they'd prefer to see in smash and when they dont see those characters they get upset at whoever was chosen and have a list of grievances ready as to why that character choice was "bad." its never anything different
