Hi, Mii expert here. Turns out, the NPCs in TLoZ:BotW use an advanced version of the Mii format. This means that with modding, you can inject Miis into the game. :)

True story. As I mentioned I just finished playing Ys 1+2 (Chronicles) and was blown by the guitar-oriented music. Amazing. I currently playing Ys Origin - so far there's less Guitars in the mix.
