You know how 2016 gives you freedom of what you can choose while Eternal is about strategic choice of tools and weapons? Dark Ages goes "screw that!" and has a shield do literally every possible thing in game. Block, parry, charge, use mechanisms, jump to certain places, it ruins entire flexibility both previous games had for sake of some crappy plate

Oh yeah and there is no such thing as pesky dodging because why, you have your shield to absord damage for roughly 3 seconds before it deplets, leaving you defenseless in the middle of nowhere

Iron blade is for triple slash, once you learn it, you can swap to your buster sword plus the weapon upgrade system on Remake makes the Buster sword Viable

Wrapped up Doom Dark Ages and well, it started mediocre, was mediocre in the middle and ended on a mediocre note. Medieval aesthetic and weapon design are a plus, and sure combat for the most part was still damn fun but holy christ this attempt at making some fantasy space opera with story and characters is so out of touch, especially when comparing it to 2016 "angry guy smashes everything and kills demons a lot". Shield is a good addition but making it core aspect of game is not it. Exploration was boring, pretty much zero new content and lack of challenge/trials from previous two games was disappointing, skin collecting was boring and same goes for mech and Serrat/dragon sections. Genuinely, if you wanted to make a game with medieval aesthetic and have some spice of lovecraftian horror, why not do a based move and reboot/remake Quake instead?
I guess it's written somewhere that 3rd entry in any Doom Trilogy will have to be mixed rooSHRUG
Oh well, moving on towards something with lovecraftian vibe too (if I recall right?)- Dredge!

from what i've understood from reading: Overwatch 2 was supposed to be a separate, more story based PVE game. And was announced as such. but they forgot to actually finish making it before announcing that, and they failed at making what they wanted by the deadlines so they just Migrated pretty much everything from Overwatch 1 into Overwatch 2 and called it a re-release.
Also something to do with chinese legal stuff with overwatch 1's lootbox system, but I seen less about that

Speaking of horrors from the deep waters, I played few hours of Dredge and I gotta admit, it's neat! I'm not really sold on "move to pass time" mechanic just yet but gameplay loop of "explore, fish, avoid horrors lurking beneath" clicks fast, map is really well put and game provides interesting quests on top of fishing/boat improving to keep you busy
