Flying enemies are way less turbonerds about keeping distance from the Knight.
Pretty easy to reach them, not like in Silksong where you need those ranged options.
I'm in Kingdom's Edge right now, so I'm dealing with the worst flyers in the game and they are easy peasy with a decently-upgraded nail.

After having seen the golden ending once more (thanks ||for making it canon, Silksong||), I can confirm that Hollow Knight is a 10/10 game.

It is so much easier in Silksong for a fight to go from "under control" to "holy crap I have no resources and 2 hp"

Silksong has a slightly elevated baseline in terms of platforming difficulty, but the nastier parts of Hollow Knight are head-and-shoulders above the hardest parts of Silksong.
And that's without me attempting the Path of Pain this past run.

that starter base is slowly running dry so i'm turning it into a mall
i cleared out the west side and there's like 25M worth of iron there
there's a lot of water with narrow passages there - easy to defend

If you can defend it, sure
Bugs are attracted to pollution creators, and the biggest are usually power and mining
defending the routes is less important
you might wanna setup more radars
they'll fill in more map for you

and i know about the polution that's why i want to put the two most polluted bits in easy to defend places
behind chokepoints
there's also a bit of uranium on the south there but i don't know what to do with that yet

It might be worth setting up some smelting blueprints
even if you don't have drones yet, having blueprints makes it really easy to figure out if your smelting setup will have enough space

you can just ctrl C some stuff, then ctrl V it

if you want to save blueprints, it's a mite bit more complicated, but copy paste works great for quick things
it'll put down Ghost buildings, so you know what to put where
Once you get drones, they'll automatically place stuff from your inventory into the ghosts

once you automate belt, assembly machine, and inserter production, and then you automate drone production, you're really off to the races

now i have to automate ass machines
preferably ass machines 2 or 3 when i get to them
sure the output is slow for now - it's all coming from resources from my starter base
but when i expand (and learn how to use blueprints) i could just copy-paste this design whenever to speed things up
