and then rendered all sprites as pngs with no background, chucked them into slade and bodged it in there

this goddam thing has around a 100 frames and like 400 lines of code and it's still not finished

it's a bit risky, but you could:
1 - disconnect your device from the internet
2- mess about with your saves (better make a backup first just in case)
3- connect to the internet
4- launch the game
at this point steam should be like "hang on - we've got some different save files on your server" and give you an option to use one of them

like - tomb raider 2 has some cool stuff
venice levels were cool, the great wall of china, that gauntlet at the end
the music, expanded croft manor, expanded moveset, the opera house, the maria doria arc and so on

but the freakin combat
there are hitscanners around every other corner and there's no way to avoid taking damage
so every encounter with ranged enemies (which means 80% of them) is just trading blows, seeing who can dish out more DPS

and the oil rig arc is such a slog it left me exhausted

TR3 also has a really, really, REALLY high difficulty
like - if tr1 was demons souls then tr3 is bloodborne on a DDR dance mat
but most of this difficulty comes from levels themselves
navigation, puzzles, traps, acrobatics - the good stuff

there's still some combat but it's also better

and then...
there's TR4 which i... actually never finished

and it's me we're talking about
i like the way this hurts and i still never finished tr4

if tr3 is bloodborne on a DDR dancemat then TR4 is like playing sekiro on a racing wheel

it's also a brazilion hours long

One of the side missions has me spam discard the green card to keep breaking the floor under me but if I overshot it, I'd end up on an island with nowhere else to go

On that same stage, you have to do that a total of three times
The first one would slam you against a wall of spikes if you spammed discard green too much
The second one would make you slam into the void (achievement)
The third one does that (another achievement)
