all playthroughs around 98% completion
but then they ported it to consoles and they added this...
console exclusive outfit that unlocks classic survival-horror mode
and it was stuck on consoles for ages
but now it's here!
and it plays great on the deck!
i just mapped mouse to the right trackpad, WASD to the left stick and now im getting the smoothest experience out there...
well - outside of the VR port, maybe

and it also has an episodic structure...
which then evolves into a metroidvania with abilities and backtracking
it's nuts - even describing the genre this game is in is... a bit of a challenge

it even does cutscenes in a unique way
cause you're watching everything through cameras anyway
you can pause any cutscene you want and switch to a different perspective
and if they want to do something dynamic - the game forces you to switch to a phone camera and then they do this sort of handheld found footage thing
the story is great
it has some of the best voiceacting i've ever heard
and the ost is just

and it does that metroidvania thing where you get to backtrack through old places but puts new enemies in there which you have to handle in new ways
and then there's so, SO much content i missed
now that im thinking about it
i got 89% on this run which is my lowest score ever
the writing is great, voiceacting is stellar, and everything building up to the ending is just
it's just the last like...
three minutes that don't stick the landing
there's a clear cut-off point there and it feels like there was supposed to be one more episode, you know?
something to pace it all out better, give this new level of challenge some more room to breathe and maybe give some plotpoints a bit more time

i have my old, old, OOOOOOLLLLDDDDDD pirated .rar file somewhere on my drive
that thing is older than some people here
but i doubt i would get it to run without copious amount of tinkering and regret

man this game is still great
but BOI - is it way harder on a gamepad
on kbm i used to play this on very hard ||or as the game calls it here - the "fu- hard" difficulty || no problem
but on a steamdeck im struggling more at a lower difficulty
