well the story isn't anything special in the whole saga so that's not the biggest problem in 2 tbh
the problem is the gameplay, which is pretty boring and dull, it's mostly just mashing the same button
while the others have pretty challenging and engaging combat
that's why 2 is the oddball, even the reboot is better accepted than 2

Man I hate Bridget Guilty Gear and her stupid fast normals that are way too big for how fast they are. How dare people have the gall to play a character who has a good matchup against my character. Worst of all, this BRAINDEAD infuriating character is one of the most popular characters in the game. Meaning I have to deal with her constantly while I only have to deal with the nonsensical gimmicks of someone like Asuka (that nerdy twink) occasionally.
Every character is braindead and overpowered except for Bedman? Who I play and totally 100% needs a buff I promise, please Arcsys.

Midori has revealed brand-new information on the forever-rumored remake of Final Fantasy IX tonight, revealing that the game is “very far along” in development. She also notes that this game was originally outsourced to an outside developer. However, Square Enix was not satisfied with the product, and “development shifted.” It’s unclear if the product is still at the mystery developer or now in-house at Square Enix. If the game is now in-house, it’s very interesting to think about what team is making this title.
Midori notes that while she has this information, she does not have info on the scope or release date of this title. However, she revealed that Square Enix has this title that is currently planned for release on multiple platforms.
For those unfamiliar, the Final Fantasy IX remake first surfaced from the NVIDIA leak, which revealed countless titles either in development or formerly in development. So far, dozens of titles have been released, and the leak has been proven true. It’s arguably one of the biggest game leaks ever.
With the major release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth earlier this year, it seems plausible that Square Enix will hold this title for release until 2025 at the earliest. The company’s fiscal year runs through March 31, 2025. As of now, only Visions of Mana is dated on the calendar. However, rumored titles set for this year include the Final Fantasy XVI PC port and the Dragon Quest HD-2D Remakes.
It’s worth noting that Midori mentioned Square Enix will have a presence at the Xbox Games Showcase this coming Sunday. With Octopath Traveler II already rumored, it’s possible we might also get a release date for Visions of Mana.
