well technically gameplay is just how you interact with the game so perhaps it would be more correct to say it doesn't have dynamic gameplay but I often just say gameplay instead of dynamic gameplay because it's kinda just often used like that and most of the time it comes up dynamic gameplay is the actual thing that comes up
however I personally would say that baldur's gate is effectively a puzzle game and gameplay in puzzle games is mostly thinking about the choices and that I'd say constitutes as meta gameplay rather than gameplay so from my perspective the gameplay in baldur's gate consists only of choosing options and choosing where to move which in my mind is not enough gameplay for me to consider it gameplay
I don't think it's bad because of that I just personally consider games being more dynamic more interactive to always be superior

it’s a different genre…a couple of my dnd friends are really into it right now, since it’s meant to be as close to a dnd experience as possible. other fans of crpgs are more fond of the real time with pause type combat, which calls for quicker thinking and a different sort of strategy. it’s a pretty even split, and there are a lot of both types of gameplay within the crpg genre
i find that i can run with both as long as the story and world are engaging enough, but plenty of folks really stand by one or the other

In bg3 for example, theres a village. Theyre scared of a nearby goblin camp. Huge army of goblin there.
You go there and...
- you could fight your way in. Thats hard but doable.
- Find some gap and sneak in
- Convince/intimidate them to let you just walk in.
After walking you could just mingle with goblins. Do some trading. Maybe lure line goblins to dark corners and shank em.
Better yet, help the goblins out and kill the village, cuz why not.
This variable way of interacting with the game seems a lot more dynamic than action games where the only thing to do is to kill anything that shows up.
Fast pace action games are pretty much puzzles too. You decide how to move, and what weapons, what attacks to use to achieve the goal. It just moves faster and you start over if you mess up.

I think you're misinterpreting the use of "dynamic" here - all the examples I can find of "dynamic gameplay" in game Dev websites sound exactly like what Yakuza_Miko describes for BG3 - a range of possible approaches to a situation, which can be freely adapted as things progress. Being turn-based or not is utterly irrelevant.

on level 25 a firebug gets a skill that looks simple on paper - firing during zed time (the slow motion of this game) doesn't consume any ammo

it is simple until you realize that a firebug can also use the spitfires - a pair of bubba'd revolvers that fire signal flares...
...as fast as you can pull the trigger
so that one single skill turns a pair of meh-tier revolvers into tools of ass destruction that can fire FOR FREE and as fast as you can click the mouse
DURING SLOW MOTION which slows down the game like 7 times - so for all the enemies your firerate is that... times seven

it has about 35 ish missions i think.
has a couple of story(theres not much story) branching points which will bring to you different endings with different final bosses.
and a true boss after you do both
takes 3 playthrough to see everything
as for difficulty...well it depends on what loadouts you use. some makes it really easy. some you may struggle with
many people are complaining about how hard the bosses are

Today we announced a change to our business model which includes new additions to our subscription plans, and the introduction of a Runtime fee. We wanted to provide clarifying answers to the top questions most of you are asking.
Yes, this is a price increase and it will only affect a small subset of current Unity Editor users.
Today, a large majority of Unity Editor users are currently not paying anything and will not be affected by this change. The Unity Runtime fee will not impact the majority of our developers.
The developers who will be impacted are generally those who have successful games and are generating revenue way above the thresholds we outlined in our blog. This means that developers who are still building their business and growing the audience of their games will not pay a fee. The program was designed specifically this way to ensure developers could find success before the install fee takes effect.
We want to be clear that the counter for Unity Runtime fee installs starts on January 1, 2024 - it is not retroactive or perpetual. We will charge once for a new install; not an ongoing perpetual license royalty, like revenue share.
We looked for ways to lessen the impact on developers, and provide ways to bring the Runtime fee to zero. If you’re using any of our ad products, Unity Gaming Services or cloud services, etc. please contact us to discuss discounts.
