My main thought is that points are only useful on the points store whereas steam marketplace dollars are only useful on the steam marketplace dollar store which has a lot more stuff in it than the points store, so if you have points and want a thing that's in the point store its almost infinitely more valuable to use points for it.
arguably, even that infinitely more valuable part of it is still really close to zero valuable
so it really doesn't matter at all and I just like thinking about how economies work

You can drag around items by holding the button to pick up stuff. Stealing is a lot easier when you can put a basket on someone's head or drag the item you want somewhere alone.
Also there is an innate system for marking certain followers and NPCs as essential, meaning that even when taking fatal damage they won't die. A lot don't get it though, so you may want to avoid unnecessary deaths when possible and find unkillable followers if you decide to keep one with you. Guards respawn if they die, though.

Steam Deck offers a solid value just in terms of hardware it packs under the hood. It's also fairly repairable for a mobile console. I believe there are already drop-in Hall effect joysticks (the kind that will never ever drift and have almost imperceptible deadzones).
Game compatibility remains an issue, but it's steadily improving, and there is a very sizeable catalog of games that are all but guaranteed to run well on Steam Deck. Just be sure to check ProtonDB for compatibility reviews, and look for recent feedback from Steam Deck users specifically.
One of the major issues is anti-cheat in online games. Any game that uses Easy Anti-Cheat is not working correctly at this time (notably, Elden Ring and Darktide don't work last I checked).
There is nothing on the handheld console market that comes even close to price to performance Steam Deck offers, and for a good reason: Valve is not making a profit on these things. I believe they actually lose money on every unit, but they more than make up those losses with increased Steam revenue. Perhaps more importantly, they're gaining market share in hardware space and mind share in consumer consciousness. It's Amazon tactics.
In brief, a Steam Deck is a good buy if you're in the market for something that can game on the go. Don't get the base model, don't get the top spec model: get the 256 gig one.

OK, as an example of why it will take a lot of good game design for me to finish this game, let's take a look at the strand. First of all, it's not a strand, it's a rope, or a chord at best, the idea that it would even be considered a primary weapon choice is kinda ridiculous, and the fact that "see that red, that's your blood, so we can scan it when you enter bridges territory" I can think of a dozen better ways to do identification that didn't need weaving someone's blood into a rope.
So many choices in this game are not choices that rational people would make.
If there's a turn coming where they go, "oh yeah, turns out the chiral particle density thing is actually making us super melodramatic" it might be assuaged a little but how do you walk into a room with die-Hardman in it and take him seriously as a person.
