Both Red Alert and StarCraft hold a special place in my heart so I'm excited to see what these new franchises can do.

especially the old ones - they're all considered to be just some arcade-y dogfighting games
and here comes AC3 with multiple endings, creative missions, branching storyline, abstract concepts, ANIMATIONS DONE BY THE GHOST IN THE SHELL TEAM!, piles of style, amazing soundtrack and some mighty impresive tech for a ps1 game...
...and it came out in only one of three regions

and duckstation is better in every single aspect

all i knew was that there's some jammers on the ground that screw with your radar
so i started the mission and few seconds later i got a message saying just "JAMMING"

hell - they could even combine them into one into one, big release

its like half card battler half visual novel. i found the story the most interesting part of it - lots of slavic folklore and the plot was good enough to leave me playing long sessions. the gameplay is nice too but i skipped a lot of the battles since i didnt really customize my deck, maybe because deckbuilding just isnt for me. i like how it integrates consequences for your actions into the plot and gameplay also.

oh I think I heard about that - my inspiration came from an RPG DM who was thinking about the idea where everybody knows exactly what's going to happen and it'll almost be like a theater play; and also toying with the meta level of players knowing something but having to act like they don't

this makes me think of the first two ace attorney cases, where they start by showing the actual murder and a clear face shot of the killer, but it's still engaging because you still have to piece together how everything happened and do the court case. that kinda thing could absolutely work.
also i really relate to the 'ideally you'll still emotionally connect even if you know the story' because i have done that before- look up a game i think i'm never gonna get to play, find out everything i can, get the chance to play, and still experience it fully. i think hollow knight's final boss is the best example i have of that. it's just so well done imo
