you can check your current chamber number when pressing b; theseus is 36 (unless something unusual happened to offset it, like grabbing a chaos boon in the last chamber before the empty chamber/shop before a boss)

I may or may not have lost a run or two due to me not paying attention to chamber and going chaos, and then doing something dumb like picking a boon that causes me to take damage when I attack when it's my best skill for damage. But now that I'm better, I almost always choose chaos if available

yeah you can generally skip hammers, and it will show up later. I feel like most of the time your hammer is up against something else like a Pom though and it makes the choice easy, with chaos being the only choice likely better

Demeter's legendary is pretty OK, but all and all it still only corresponds to a 10% damage increase if you wanna think of it numerically sorta. Honestly, the most game changing legendary I've had is actually Hermes. The one where he insta recharges your casts.

Think of it this way: If there was a boon that said "Your first attack does 10% of a foe's max HP," it would be one of the best boons in the game.

Even if it would slow you down against normal enemies, it would be amazing against bosses, especially Hades.

And Demeter's boon is much better than that, because it just automatically kills foes when they're at low HP.

My basic theory of trying 32-heat was to lean into damage reduction, and dodge chance plays into that. So even the combo of Weak on attack the Sturdy from the Colossus Knuckle puts your overall damage reduction at 51%. So 15% dodge chance on top of that is pretty good.

#

Then in this run, I happed to get the Aprho/Ares Duo as well as the bonus damage after using Call, so I was hitting pretty hard as well.

Got a new fastest time with Chiron bow with this Ares based Special build. Sadly Ares did the thing he usually likes to do with me (not sure if he's like this for everyone) where he shows up at the start of the run and then never appears again until Elysium, Styx. I got 3 Ares boons the whole run lmao. Thankfully managed to roll exactly the boon i wanted, Dire Misfortune. Only Boon that could have made this stronger was Impending Doom.

New overall PB and Heat progression on Spear. Wasn't going for strictly speed (taking every shop, etc) but was cruising. Zeus on Attack, plus those two Dae-Hammer boons were disgusting. The entire screen would just blow up. So much fun, ha.

New PB on Sword, and Heat bounty progression (15). The Tidal combo with Aphro-take more damage was pretty gross by the end. Dae-Hammer for double-hit dash strike was a nice compliment. Didn't Special too much. EM3 on as well, shrugR .

Finally managed to get a sub 12 minute run! I had an Eris boosted rocket shotgun that tore up every enemy in Elysium/Styx in one or 2 shots, and managed to beat Hades in under a minute. Thought for sure i wouldnt get it thanks to 3 room Styx, but the sheer damage in the Hades fight was too much for it to matter. Hermes Would Be Jealous indeed.

I have never had this many duo boons but it all goes together extremely well if u get the boons later they wont show good results but if u get them earlier they are extremely powerful (without the duo boon of posideon and ares)

@languid locust so i got the aspect and these are my first boons
@cinder prism you can grab a flourish boon if you want, Eris is really versatile, you can have a attack build ( Best hammers include : Flurry Fire, Delta, Piercing & Seeking fire, concentrated can be nice but won't add much if you play without a %dmg boon, also maybe a controversial opinion but I find Spread fire clunky without bonus ammo ) or flourish build ( hammers : Triple bomb, cluster and rockets are the kings of flourish hammers, tho targeting system is a nice option as well, Hazard bomb is terrible with Eris aspect, pretty self explanatory )

#

My fav boon : Zeus on attack, there is just no contest, it beats every other option clean. Artemis is fun, because more instance of damage means more chances at crits. %dmg boons ( Aphro, Athena, Demeter etc.. are really good with spread fire ) for the flourish, well, everything works so pick something according to the duo you are aiming for.

I had Curse of Longing in Tartarus, but didn't get Dire Misfortune until Styx. I got lucky when Eurydice upgraded Curse of Pain to heroic, but wasn't able to get poms to hit it because I'd spent too many rerolls earlier. Still, L5 epic Impending Doom, Unhealthy Fixation, and both Concentrated and Relentless Volley all made the final fight very easy.

Yes, the doom stacks were huge. Would have been bigger if I'd gotten more poms on Curse of Pain, or if Dire Misfortune was better than common. But really, I can't complain about a run like this.

This was one of the most broken runs i've done so far. Chiron bow seems a tad op! Some of the numbers I saw were in the 1.2k-1.4k range crit for the final few arrows of special. Killed Asterius/Theseus with 2-3 Specials each

It's actually pretty easy to force duos and legendaries. The mirror helps a lot, as does knowing the prereqs.

It's definitely easier to force a build in Hades than in any roguelite I've played.

How exactly does hera work? Does the whole animation happen from the enemy's location?

Ok that's cool! I'm most used to Chiron and still haven't upgraded the hidden one to high enough lvl to try. How does it compare in terms of strength to Chiron?

its probably not quite as powerful as chiron, but it can certainly be pretty effective

i also find chiron a bit easier to play, since you have to aim less lol
