First 32 heat clear!!! Finally an Epic Crush Shot after terrible luck on first boon rarity and I pulled it off first try. I thought it was over when I stumbled into Zeus after Enshrouded curse, popped 2 DDs in Elysium without seeing Patroclus, and getting Tiny Vermin in Styx.

• the boards are kept separately. this means that there is no official comparison between modded and unmodded.
• if you believe that resetting for 30 minutes straight between each good run is skill, then sure. the speedrunning community decided it's not skill, only needless frustration.
• any run achieved using the modpack is theoretically achievable unmodded, it would just take far longer to grind for.

I'm one of the last runners one would call a modded player, but even I must admit the modpack has its reasons to exist and be ran on. the vanilla game does some stuff wrong from a competition-standpoint that these mods fix.

This was a weird build. A mix of dash strikes and casts, with specials to boost them from Achilles spear. It felt a little all over the place but also I killed hades nice and good. Time left to clear multiple rooms after the satyr sack and cleared without using a death defiance.

Yeah Achilles is like that: it’s a great cast weapon that also can be used as a traditional spear very well. It’s best builds often blend the two together, using the attack when casts are unavailable.

Notably, Artemis attack (which is semi common in cast builds for mirage shot or pressure points)

Chaos is also like the only weapon/aspect where low tolerance doesn’t really help as well

since every other one can easily get loads of enemies up to 8 but chaos caps at 6 hits and then you need to rush again

It’s more about the shear quantity of application you can have, chaos is rather slow and single target about it

Fists and rail are single target but at least they’re fast so you can apply like full stacks to multiple enemies fast

Zeus is really nice because it’s just a massive aoe that persists so you can get the stacks really high on a bunch of enemies at once

Oh and last tip, for hangover builds, make full use of the pools of purging

Dionysus has a few notably strong utility / support boons (Exclusive Access, After Party, Premium Vintage) and an alright cast, but the strength ends there. Hangover is an overwhelmingly needy status effect, to make it deal significant damage is nearly impossible. The best place for hangover is in high heat where his attack is an alternative on aspects that would otherwise run zeus attack, since some aspects need a reliable way to deal with savior-enemies and damage control 2.

I also totally forgot to share that I also had the rocket hammer. Got really lucky in Styx because I had ricochet fire (a nice hammer for early on!) and then I got the anvil upgrade, it switched out ricochet for piercing fire and cluster bomb.

Once I got that I knew this was going to be it. This is following a just failed fists 32 heat where I got pretty close too. A bit surprised at myself because I had been doing other high heat runs in the 20s and thought I was just barely making it through those

I’d swap it around a bit so you don’t have doom on strike

you’re wasting the really solid base damage output of bow strike and worsening your other duo odds by aiming for curse of longing

curse of vengeance is a better option cuz it still opens curse of nausea but without curse of longing

Otherwise thou it’s like

the least consistent most consistent build ever

because on one hand you want 8 billion duos but on the other hand all you need is poms on hangover

And the only way to do that is Ares on Attack and Aphro on dash
