Giving a run up lets you preserve the RNG “seed” of a run, meaning that the run will start and theoretically progress the same way if you make the same choices

If you get a hammer that you want off the bat, say, and want to play around with different playstyles using it

Giving up that run could give you as many runs with that hammer as you want

Rather than dying

You’d also have to give up before you win as well

for styx i would just say take your time

going too fast leads to you running into traps and not paying attention to poison

the rooms are dummy small anyway so just be ready, take your time, and know where the anti poison pools are

also btw the earliest you can get the sack is by room 2 so i recommend either doing the boss rooms first, or doing a normal room then to boss

and make sure your build is good, too many a time ive died or at least got bodied since my build was scrounged and garbage

I'm just at the point where I am going to start investing in weapon aspects and don't want to make mistakes. I haven't beat the end boss yet, but have bean the first and second with four weapons. Since Titan Blood seems to be a limited resource at first, I didn't want to waste it. Is there a consensus on which weapons I should work on first and can make work with low investment?

I think that aspect, Talos, is like a counterpart to Dementer, the one below. Therefore it’s a matter of preference

Blood is a reward for unlocking all weapons, so it’s not a bad idea to unlock either Hera or Poseidon

Since you may eventually decide to unlock everything after having 1-2 maxed weapons

Hera may be a good choice, as you don’t have to manually cast, and you can practice using the bow for the eventual Chiron

It’s all preference in the end

In the process of saving up for Chiron, I accidentally beaten the final boss with a plain rail gun due to great hammer upgrades. So don’t sweat too much about it

Absolutely get talos for a single point if you like fists. Lvl1 talos does 85% of max talos out of the box

Beyond that spend your earliest blood on the Zag aspect of the weapon you like most

It will be your Old Reliable to carry you through the first 1/4-1/3rd of the total game when you need to call on it

Zag aspects are 1/3 the price of other named aspects across the board. 5 blood to max out VS 15-16

Doing extra levels above what’s required wont get you extra rewards, but you’ll never miss anything either

Technically the game does record and recognize your highest difficulty set. It will acknowledge that as your new Personal Best Difficulty on your win screen from then on, once you clear it. But rewards are unaffected

You just gotta keep doing runs to get gems, it's totally random. Soon enough you'll have more than you'll know what to do with. There's an upgrade within Nyx's Mirror of Night that you can get later that lets you change chamber rewards and it'll make it a lot easier to get more gems, nectar or darkness.

There's also a house contract that gives you gems when you defeat bosses too that you can get a bit later down the line.

Sometimes I do narrative streams of Hades for my friends, so I like to have God Mode on so we aren't impeded by grinding (either on cam or off-screen).

God Mode is in place so that everyone can enjoy Hades' story without there being a barrier to entry. You should not feel ashamed or be shamed for turning it on. It will not ruin your enjoyment of the game (but elitist fans may try and convince you otherwise).

I just posted this question in 'hades-tech-support'. Is that the correct place?

I just bought the game on Steam and am experiencing a problem:

1. The game opens on the wrong monitor (my secondary monitor upstairs which is 2560x1440).
2. I go to 'Display' and set the game to windowed and 1920x1080.
3. I drag the window to the correct monitor (my primary monitor downstairs which is 3840x2160).
4. I go to 'Display' and set the game to full screen and 2560x1440 (where is 3840x2160?!?).
5. Now I cannot control the menu anymore. When I use the keyboard to go to 'Play' I can sort of play the game but my mouse can only reach from the left top of my screen to what looks like the 2560x1440 point (so I cannot reach the lower right side of the screen.)
6. When I defeat the enemies on the first 'level'/'screen' I get a popup with Athena. But, I cannot select anything because the mouse doesn't set the correct position.
7. HELP!!!!
   PS I played this game at a friend's house and it worked fine there.

Ooooooh! That is EXTREMELY useful! I wish that I knew all these things before. Maybe a tutorial would have been useful. I'm absolutely loving this game and it gets better and better. I just defeated the first boss. She is really tough. She got somewhat stuck behind a pillar and I could stun hit her a bunch of times. LUCKY!

kind of misleading, god mode isn't necessarily an "easy" difficulty. you will have an easier time because it increases your damage reduction, but that's all it does. there are late game features that will make the game quite difficult even with god mode on, so it's just an additional way to tweak the difficulty to your liking more than an actual easy mode

well yeah, at the end zagreus becomes so powerful he basically reaches the capabilities of a god so "god mode" doesnt help him as much anymore

except a few certain ones that are not trackable by in game conditions but those are also something you can do within a single run

The bow is easiest to use when you have your dashes unlocked. I recommend Dionysus and Demeter so you can keep your distance and minimize damage.

Personally, I like using ||the Rama Aspect|| but you may not have those unlocked yet.

For a beginner bow build I'd recommend getting Greatest Reflex, Artemis' Aid and Tidal Dash, makes it very easy imo.

Forcing yourself to input both buttons together will make sure you get the shortened dash attack charge, and will teach you how to make the most out of bow’s considerable base attack damage

it's also an important mechanical skill in general that is useful on a couple other weapons

Cannot overstate how much of a night/day difference it is in damage output using dash attack exclusively vs using regular attack

With the asterisk that the reason this difference exists is because dash striking lets you Power Shot with a much higher rate of fire, because of its shortened charge
