I made it all the way to room 57 today, I only went in to test out my new weapon and get some gems 😂

'Giving up' a run means you're resetting the run with a similar seed. Dying generates a completely brand new seed
You can still get varied results by giving up, but it might be a tad bit complicated to explain

Focus down Asterius first, Theseus can get in some cheap shots but Asterius is much more deadly. When the pink target on you turns red, that’s your time to dash (Divine Dash is OP btw). Theseus can also only summon gods you haven’t used yet.

@modern pike A good amount of it is going to depend on how well you have core mechanics down and personal preference. For example, ||Achilles varatha gives you more movement|| but if you don't have good spacing then it won't do you much good and may actually hinder you.
Personally I went for unlocking them all first and I'm still clearing new ||heat|| consistently without upgrades

I'd say definitely unlock and give them a try! You may need to try some new builds boon/trinket-wise. You'll be able to consistently get more blood as you play so I wouldn't worry about "wasting" any

So they only have close attacks so you can either spam special to defeat them from afar or hit and run by dashing in getting a few hits in then dashing out. Just make sure not to stay too close to them for too long and you should be fine (hopefully).
Also if you get poisoned defeating all enemies stops it so it may occasionally be faster to finish off the last enemy instead of running to a cure station thing

I just did a run w/ dio cast hera. Made it to ||hades phase 2|| but had taken a ton of dmg all over the place. Had no ability to deal with proj, room clear in general was pretty weak. Other weapons can like, attack the proj or something if don't have athena dash (which I couldn't get this run). Attack is too slow and special doesn't have cover when there's multiple witches.

The first one gets you ||a scolding because Dad's a grinch.|| After unlocking more hearts, it gets you ||the Sigil of the Unseen||
God calls are fairly strong, try to work them in when you need to
Some calls can be better if used before a full bar, others are better at a full bar (which gets you a Greater Call, empowering its effects)
For example, Athena's Aid gets you a short burst of invulnerability, and Greater Call will give you six times the duration
Aphrodite's Aid will Charm enemies for the same duration regardless of minor or greater call, but Greater adds a whopping 2500 damage to the projectile, giving it use during boss fights
The gauge will fill as you deal and take hits; the more hits, the faster, so something like Malphon will get more Calls than Aegis

I don't like the dash attack with bow because it's slow, I like things that affect things multiple times especially for the like targeted specials
with the hidden aspect I like crit on attack ||because shared damage is affected by crits||
but a lot of the time I'll just go ||with demeter and stacks frosts and blow them up repeatedly at 10 stacks||
way early game I found that doom on special with the like spray form of the special is a good way to cheese most of the game
