can someone give me tips on how to beat that damn hydra? He's my run killer, and it also seems that I'm picking the wrong upgrades, cause when meeting Meg, I can kill her with relative ease, and the enemies before her usually dies quite quickly. However when I come to Aphodel (I think I spelled it right?) the enemies don't take as much damage, and I can deal with that. But once I come to the hydra I might as well just end the run by exiting, cause I can't get past him at all. I've made it past him once, but that's it.

I usually run with the Chaos Shield, although I occasionally use the Spear too. I haven't used the Sword & Bow that much casue I don't really like them alot.

What should I focus on when using the Shield, like what boons and upgrades should I focus on the most? I'm in need of serious help, I love the game it's just that the hydra kind of ruins it all for me. Cause it constantly feels like I'm playing a Demo of the game since I can't get past him. I can usually bring him down to his second phase before dying.

what can i say if u have problem with 1st areas u mostly have problem with basics

u need to use dash

dash can solve a lot of problem

dash(not dash attack!) have i-frames so u can avoid ANY damage if u use it in right time

also u need to learn enemy moves

like for example hydra

she has limited moves

@ripe holly So for this, usually you would try to heavily focus on one attack type to get all your boons for. When you get boons, try to focus on a certain "build" so that one of your attack becomes way better than the others
As an example, let's say you start your run with a special attack buff, then later when you get a hammer make sure you try to get the buff on your special instead of attack - don't try to spread boons evenly, the goal is to make only one (sometimes also your cast) insanely good. By the end of the first region, you'll most likely only be using ONE (or two if your cast is good) type of move, either attack, dash attack, or special instead of trying to use them all evenly

As an example build, if you like the shield you can get Zeus lightning bolt on special so that everytime your special hits an enemy (which is usually multiple enemies) it emits a bunch of lightning that gets everyone. Then keep buffing special only until it becomes really powerful

The number one tip I can give you is that, forget about trying to get boons for all your attacks-- you only need 1 to finish a run and it's perfectly normal to blaze through a run with one kind of attack buffed to the teeth, while not having any boons for your other attacks at all.

I saw Haelian do a run like that and thought it would be fun lol
He used the artemis cast but he also got +3 cast legendary boon and +1 from a chaos gate, and the duo that adds a secondary projectile to the cast which made it OP
I tried to do a similar build, but unfortunately I ended up getting none of the legendary or duo, and my cast count was stuck at 3 so I just died miserably to the final boss lol
I didn't even have the sword aspect that lets u dislodge cause I'm stingy with my blood so I had to wait 5 seconds to pick my stuff back up every time

how many titan blood do i need for a weapon upgrade to max?

Cause usually whatever gods u pick in the beginning, more of those usually show up right?
But this run (and in others b4) I used the artemis keepsake to start with her boon, but she never showed up ever again which was really sad since I was trying to create an artemis build

If you just keep avoiding boons until the god you want shows up, will that make sure that god shows up again, or is the RNG just completely random?

you can reroll a boon/pom door with fated authority

once you set your 4 pantheon, they are rng, you can control this with fated authorities

doesnt like cooldown cast that much since without a cast it's very weak
