If you think you can stretch your last life, Stubborn Roots could be better value, probably even moreso with Stubborn Defiance

If you don't plan on being on your last life though, Unshakable Mettle is probably better for keeping things that way

SR is like, slightly more of an "Oh Frick" option that could maybe salvage a near-death situation if it's played right

whereas UM is more of a "rich stay rich" type of thing that will always be effective, unlike SR which is only effective if you're in a bad situation

I get offered Stubborn Roots pretty often and skip it just as often cuz the only situation I see myself using it in most runs is during the final boss, in which case if I DO end up seeing its effect, it's usually not enough to save the run

also Staric Discharge is a surprising dps boost on a zeus build

the rule of thumb with zeus is that more zeus boons are what you want

they’re better than poms

(tho pomming attack and jolted a bit doesn’t hurt)

but if you wanna use it, prolly go for demeter on special, and cold fusion (zeus/demeter duo)

cold fusion is amazing on its own, but it also lets jolted last much longer, which combined with the ability to apply chill gives you pretty easy PS setup
