Im not great at this kind of game. I just happen to like the story of this one and want to get to the true ending.
I tried the bow. I didnt get very far with it. Shield seems safer for me, I can block and take my time.
Still ultimately aspect of chaos is the only one I had the blood to max so far. Its entirely possible another would be better.

So I suck at fighting Meg so far, and oddly enough my favorite weapon is the Shield so far

The shield is very good to begin with, possible the safest weapon in the game.
The bow is also quite safe if you know what you're doing, but in the beginning the shield is hard to beat.
Meg has a couple of quite obvious tells what moves she'll be using.
When she rises up she's gonna do the swipe, you want to get away from her quickly.
If you haven't unlocked it yet absolutely get the second dash from the mirror. It's a game changer.

With Dire Misfortune the damage your Doom does increases by a small amount for every time you hit the enemy with whatever Doom boon you have, until it pops.
It can be somewhat nice with a fast attacking weapon like the Rail or the Fists, usually Dire Misfortune falls in the somewhat "meh" category though.

ME makes it so that Doom triggers immediately when the enemy is hit by an ability that can deflect. Note that you don't actually need to deflect anything for it, the ability just needs to be able to.

Used to be that Athena dash was a valid qualifier for ME too, so you could get it rolling in Tartarus with a bit of luck. You can technically still do that but requires a ton of luck.

Is it better to scale levels or rarity for damage output? I regularly make it to the final encounter and do approximately 0 damage and just fail the war of attrition.
I don't know how to scale damage in this game. Any pointers? I've won twice but it feels like a crap shoot.

@wraith shard || you'll get rewards for the lowest heat you have not yet completed on a given weapon. If you attempt a lower heat than that, or the same heat but you haven't completed it, you'll get a large amount of darkness in place of any bounties you've already gotten ||
