It's not strictly speaking necessary as their detonation can be dodged but it's helpful if you have a bit of room. Otherwise the overlapping circles can cause some issues.

Taking on Theseus first gives some nasty additions to the fight once he phases, whilst still having to dodge his spears and the deranged cow with a battle axe.

The other boon that really helps is a dash boon, sprint boon, or movementspeed buff from hermes to help you outrun ||asterius||
TLDR: Get backstab damage from ||chaos|| or athena, mobility perks from hermes can help you outrun asterius, high burst type of attacks like 60 base and take percent modifiers, when either of them turn their backs unload an attack or two onto them, arc damage can more reliably hit|| thesus||

||You have to use charge, and it only applies to autos & specials.
Achilles applies to attacks & casts (which is more of a preference thing), but applies higher percents all the way until that last rank where it's equal. It's way easier to throw a special in than a charge. Especially since the charge time doesn't get lowered hades aspect, and getting hit at all cancels the charge.||

and agreed about getting knocked out of charge...I've found the easiest way for me to pull it off somewhat consistently is attack then charge while enemy is in hitstun, but then if you're facing more than one enemy it's not consistent
or if you're trying to charge up spin for any longer length of time...

Is it posible to change your controls for spear in such a way that (using PS4 controls as example), triangle is special and you press triangle to recall, and square to rush to spear. I just unlocked the rush thing and its making it difficult for me to spam the special which is how Ive been beating the bosses

spins will always occur in melee. at range he'll throw his spear, which has a very clear audio cue and visual telegraph (dash a little after the reticle turns bright red)

I hang around the bottom of the screen and deal with minotaur first. dash back and forth through minotaur and time my dashes so any spear throws from theseus get stuck in the buildings so I don't have to worry about dodging as much

his purpose is to facetank your attacks and be annoying while asterius pummels you into the ground. it's a fight that teaches you to have quick reaction times and tests your knowledge of boss patterns by throwing two of them at you
his tag-team attack (bull horn) has a telegraph in that he will call out to asterius beforehand and slowly walk towards the bull. however, in the heat of combat, this can be hard to see, so keep your eye out

You can gift further to deepen your relationship with characters, more story and in a few select cases some nice rewards later. In the beginning don't worry too much about it, I'd likely prefer to gift everyone at least once before going deeper with someone.
