I have my dash bound to R2 and whatever is normally on R2 bound to square.

Does anyone have any tips for theseus? hes the guy i die most to during runs, what with his second phase having those big god attacks, or it might just be me getting bad luck on the RNG for gods he uses

I assume you havent beaten a run yet? I always recommend playing with him on extreme measures, hes easier that way lol.
But assuming you haven’t finished a run yet, focus on asterius first, try and get him on the other side of the stadium and stand behind a pillar so theseus cant snipe you with his spear. Once asterius is dead, hes much easier.
Abuse the pillars and honestly dont even try to attack him while hes summoning a god unless youre comfortable with it. Wait until he throws his spear and turns his back then dish out as much damage as you can and then wait again

If you want a simple-combo weapon that sticks to the basics, try the sword and aspect of nemesis.
If you want to crit and do lots of damage, go aspect of nemesis.
If you want easy casts and like the sword, do aspect of Poseidon.

If you like poking things from far away, choose Varatha (spear). It’s simple to use and relatively fun.
Aspect of Achilles is really good with casts and just poking things that much harder.
Aspect of Hades is off-meta but really fun big spin attacks.

If you want a defensive blocking menace, choose shield.
Aspect of chaos lets you shotgun people with 5 shield throws
Aspect of Zeus is extraordinarily safe and you get a beyblade.

If you like the traditional charge up ranged weapon and enjoy learning a sense of rhythm, choose the bow.
Aspect of Chiron is aesthetically pleasing and does good damage.
Aspect of Hera lets you shoot cannonballs on the tip of your arrows by putting a cast on it.

If you like a brain dead, fast paced, high damage weapon, or just like throwing hands with the local residents of Hades, choose the twin fists of malphon.
Aspect of Talos is a unique aspect that pulls enemies in.
Aspect of Demeter is really high damage that lets you chunk baddies

Finally, if you like gunning down enemies with a fast and aggressive oaky style with loads of damage, or just want to manifest your inner American spirit, choose the Adamant rail.
Aspect of Eris just does a mountain of damage.
Aspect of Hestia gives ya a sniper rifle.

These are all basic outlines of each weapon and aspect. I recommend you try out each weapon, and explore the aspects of your favourite ones first.

Parrying (blocking) is fine, but it can sometimes be hard to do in the heat of the moment and will send you flying, which can remove you from cover and make it harder to do damage. The longer the fight goes, the more opportunities there are to make mistakes. Dashing sets you up to deal more damage with dash strikes and doesn’t compromise your position.
