Using a god keepsake will guarantee the next boon you see is from the god you want, after that they are added to what we call the "god pool"

Each god you have a boon from is added to this pool, and once 4 gods are in (hermes/chaos don't count) the rest will disappear from the run

So your odds of seeing a god you want are greatly increased

Then there's some mirror skills that boosts how many boons (along other in run boosts) you see on the run and boon rerolls

Chiron revolves mostly around the special, so boon choice there is key. Lots of attack/special combos can work, you mostly want a %-based god on attack and then a curse boon on special. Things like Aphrodite, Athena, Artemis etc for attack, then Dio or Zeus for special. Artemis is the exception to this rule, she can put in great work slotted on Chiron special when combined with Aphro attack for heart rend

Zeus isn’t a perfect choice for the special as Chiron’s fire rate outpaces the internal cooldown on lightning bolts but it’ll still put in work. Ares can also be an interesting choice for Chiron attack if you’re forced into it since you don’t use your attack quite as often as other bow aspects

So I've gotten 2 keepsakes so far, the old spiked collar and the lucky tooth. It seems like I can only equip one though, and swapping out during a run would make me lose on the effect.

If I die with lucky tooth, does it use the revival that gives first, or does it use my other death defiances from the mirror first? If its the former, then I could probably use a death defiance and then swap to the old spiked collar

Use the tooth as your band-aid keepsake until you get 2 or 3 DDs to your name. Spiked collar is nice but 50 extra base health in the mirror is pretty cheap and you can also supplement quite well during your run with max health pickups. 150-200 health with 2-3x DDs is a very comfy amount of health to walk into the final boss with

whether or not a duo or legendary is good is incredibly subjective

it depends on the weapon you're using, it's aspect, the rest of the build you've got in mind for it

in general most legendaries are both harder to obtain and less useful than a solid duo though

since you need more secondary boons from the same God to unlock them as opposed to easy to obtain core boons from 2 gods, and you have the chance to get the duo from either god as opposed to the legendary only coming from the god that offers it

Long Knuckle and Breaching Cross are the two "always goated" hammers for fists. Long knuckle is a good general tool. Allows you to safely engage flamewheels in elysium rather than running, and range=safety on fists. Breaching cross does stupid damage to armor and that's all it needs to do.

Explosive Upper is the S-tier pick for Demeter aspect specifically, it'll do crazy one-button damage when paired with a good special boon

a few reasons:
1.) for high frequency weapons (fists/rail) his attack is flat damage making it extremely useful.
2.) jolted. An easy to apply status which deals 100ish damage is big for clearing enemies and bossing.
3.) secondary boons like double-strike/billowing-strength/call are significant dps increases.

It isn’t that Zeus is flat-out the best god; It’s that when Zeus boons are slotted where they’re meant to be (fast attacks), their strength tends to scale up way, way higher than many other god setups without requiring much thought

For instance, optimal fist and rail gameplay really can boil down to “find epic Zeus boon, mash attack and win game 5head”. It isn’t really that Zeus’ damage outclasses other gods (though it kind of can), it’s that you can get a Zeus build online that absolutely shreds with exactly 2 epic boons (attack and jolted)

• Hermes and Chaos boons are very potent. With Hermes, seek out Hyper Sprint + Rush Delivery or extra dashes
• Boon rarity doesn't matter much for most boons. Exceptions include Hermes's boons and Ares's Doom

Favorite weapon?

Nemesis is strongest for sword, but Poseidon is strong effect for 1 blood

Achilles is strongest for spear, the rest are meh but zag functions for cheap.

Zag shield is excellent for 5 blood. All shield aspects are strong, particularly Zeus and Beowulf.

Zag bow is a 5-blood monster. All bow aspects are top tier in their own right.

Zag fists have a good passive buff but it’s mostly just base fists which is just fine. Talos is a nice investment for 1 blood just to get the meathook attached to your special. Demeter fists are probably the strongest aspect, 10/10 burst damage. Gilgamesh is mid, disappoint yourself at your own leisure.

Zag rail is fantastic for 5 blood. Add Zeus attack, win games. Eris rail is flat out one of the best weapons in the game. Hestia is unusual but has high damage and is a great choice for harder postgame runs later on. Lucifer rail is an oddball but it still works ok, just overshadowed by the other 3

the rarity boost from Pride is more often more useful than the duo/legendary chance up, and being able to reroll your boon choices (and wells and shops) into better options with Persuasion is so much more useful than rerolling doors

Default controls are solid, just maybe swap cast and potentially reload with sometjjn more convient

learning cast on a more convient button (like the triggers) will help if you ever want to use Hera or Beowulf, & I know plenty of ppl beef with default reload
