My question is now that I'm returning, should I start a new save file or pick up where I left off? My concern is I will miss out on dialogue, etc that I forgot about over the year. Hades has very dynamic dialogue. I've played some of the major dialogue heavy games and Hades still impresses me. Relationships change, npcs reveal new information to you, some very interesting like Ares commenting on the history of every weapon you use, and some even have multiple branches requiring interactions with other npcs to unlock that npc's dialogue. Some of these lead into side quests and contractor stuff.

Definitely able to continue it halfway through but if you want to restart, you definitely still can.

Like even the filler "here is a boon" dialogue changes to reflect what you have done.

For the poison effects, i like to stay by the curing pools or have one close enough to dash to. In the larger rooms its harder to spot them but usually theyre in the same places

If you struggle with poison, it's a dash problem I believe.

Athena can help with Satyrs but only Sure Footing or hidden sword will help with the puddles.

And practicing dashing through it without actually standing still long enough to accumulate poison

Poison is weird. It works like Hangover but I believe Zagreus has a variable resistance to it.

So you can actually have poison and take no damage from it

And also just avoid it building, or however it works. I just know you can dash through it even when you dont think you should be able to not get infected.

I tend to watch out for the rats, as the small chambers and large puddles synergize against you. Keep dashing, as you get invincibility frames while doing so. There's also a brief window of time where you can stand in a puddle and not be affected. Take advantage of that, and double dash through the puddles without taking damage. As for satyrs, Divine Dash is always a solution for projectiles, no matter the weapon. They are much less of a threat as long as you keep stun locking them relentlessly.

Chain Skewer essentially the same as having no hammer at all. Flurry Jab is the strongest option for an attack build followed by Serrated Point which is tougher to play and not as great. For a Special build you'll want Explosive Launcher and eventually Charged Skewer in that order.

Can be kind of hard if you don’t play roguelites, but if you’re well versed I’ve seen people get to the end in very few runs. As jazz said it also has ways to get super difficult, as well as an assist called god mode that gives you increasing damage resistance

Rules of thumb for good hammers (it always depends on the build you are going for, first you should learn to build):

• Hammers that turn your attack or special into a ranged projectile (except Piercing Wave which is mid)
• Hammers that say "piercing" -- this completely ignores shields on top of its other effect, usually more damage vs armor (yellow hp bar), a mid-tier effect on it's own.
• Hammers that multiply or hasten your attack without reducing base damage
• Hammers that multiply the damage you do or otherwise strengthen your attack or special (except Minotaur Rush and Heavy Knuckle)
  Mid tier:
• Hammers that only conditionally increase damage (like vs armor, or on one part of an attack combo, the exception being dash strikes as those are very strong)
• Hammers with defensive effects (like Colossus Knuckle)
• Hammers with effects that increase damage somewhat, but in awkward ways (like Ricochet on bow or all Rail aspects but Hestia)
  Bad hammers:
• Dash Nova
• Cursed Slash*
  *meme potential with Flurry Slash but this is a crutch build.

Like there are types of hammers that are just almost always good, like ranged projectile ones. Charged Shot on shield is amazing, Kinetic Launcher on fists is fun and solid, even really good with Demeter, it's just Piercing Wave that is bad because 30 base damage isnt enough to really matter.
