Oh man I love these kind of small details because there's so much world building in them.

So the answer seems to imply ||they all share the same world which is interesting when you consider Lucifer is a part of this. I wonder whether Christianity's hell and the Greek underworld are the same thing (so Lucifer's just chilling down there with us somewhere), or they're separated like believers of Greek mythology go to the underworld when they die and Christians go to hell.||

Man I'd love to be able to sit whoever's in charge of writing and design to probe his brain about the lore.

I adore Gaiman's take on it. tbh, that heavily informed my own philosophy of divinity, which boils down to "who am I to say that it ain't real? Any of it? It would be cool if it was!"

||i interpret it as separate universes or realms that know of eachother . the gods celebrate christmas because they respect those gods and such . Santa is a real entity that enforces this , as well as you know , ded moroz , Mikulas , Sinterklaas and all the christmas entities . lucifer is more of a construct and a group of characters ,but within christian culture it's much more complex . there are at least 10 wikipedia articles of different names this composite entities goes by . may be a exageration idk but there are a ton . i want to see more pagan deities tho ... that depending on who you ask are literally greek gods 1000000000000000% stronger. literally greek gods but omnipotent . I dislike neil gaiman's version . I like stuff that is mythologically accurate , and to say these deities are man made when it's actually the reverse is just confusing ||

Also @atomic forge there's been discussion within archaeology for a long time on whether interaction between different cultures has bearing on the mythology and religious worship of said cultures. I think Gaiman's take on it is approaching it from a scientific viewpoint rather than one steeped in any actual belief in the deities he's depicting, in which case it makes sense for the belief that it's inherently man-made. For example, we know categorically that the Roman pantheon was influenced heavily by the Greek, but the question then remains whether the Roman gods are separate to the Greek ones or not. Like most things with interacting cultures, it's messy and very shades-of-grey-ish. There's a lot of stories and figures that are incredibly similar between cultures and have similar stories, but with that particular culture's own spin on it. 😄

i understand that hades went through a lot of doodoo with being sent into the underworld basically bound there for life and thrown out of olympus, eaten by his own father and being the first to live through that therefore just being alone for such a long time
so ofc he'd not know how to raise a child correctly but idk, i guess another part about the real hades is - his "house" isnt in tartarus but by elysium to allow him to learn from the shades? and in game you're bound to the deepest corner of heck? like this guy is living through misery still after all this time

have been learning about greek mythology since i was like 9, 21 now whooop whoop so this game really pushed all my buttons of interest

Like.. Even if you discount before the metric ton of poop the gods on the whole have been through before the events of the game, he's seemingly stuck at work literally 24/7 because it needs to be done. So it's no wonder that ||persephone didn't really feel at home|| because how can you cultivate relationships under those circumstances? And then you go through the fear/trauma of ||zag's birth||, then you lose the person you love and probably feel very much responsible for that, and it's little wonder that he's distant to zag at best because zag a) ||really does look a lot like persephone|| and there's also the hopes that he'll at least help out with the family business, but it's not that zag isn't good at it, it's more that ||he doesn't even really try all that much. he doesn't want to have anything to do with the administrative stuff that Hades takes care of|| and I can see how that would turn what starts as being distant into outright resentment

Now granted, that absolutely in no way excuses how he treats his own son, it's more of a "reason rather than an excuse"

still all the circumstances really show that he didnt even have a way to learn to be a better dad. nyx is the only parental figure in his vicinity and ||sorry but she is just too cold, i love mamma nyx but if she was the only one to teach him, no wonder he is this strict with zag omfg||
it kinda makes me sad to see hades work with shades but also only in a really distant way of contracts and occasional "ok wtf yall want" audiences (is that the right word lmao)
sure all this is more "reason rather than an excuse" but at the same time even if he tried to educate himself (which is probably already a frowned upon idea for gods since so much just lies on their shoulders and they never had teachers to teach them anything and were instead always the wisdom carriers???? it's just not fair) his whole surrounding wouldve taught him nothing good (via living in the WORST hell in all of greek mythology and so on), this makes me sad but i understand it fits just very well with the gameplay aspect of the game, it just makes me feel bad for good ol hades babe

Like, if you only unlock 1 extra aspect ever and pump five blood into it, Guan Yu might not unlock. It wants you to have opened the actual lock icon five times if I understand correctly. And the blood you spend on those should also contribute towards each individual weapon's five blood for hidden counts too if I'm not mistaken.

From what I researched, you have to level his keepsake to max and talk to him while using it

the way dialogue works once you meet the requirements of certain pieces of narrative dialogue, its entered into a pool of whatever currently available dialogue you have, and whatever comes up is chosen at random. certain dialogue is weighted to have higher priority but you're never guaranteed to see a specific piece you're looking for

That is what pulled me through in the end. And what's funny is that it was a run that I completely dismissed. Spear is my least favorite weapon, but with Demeter it just ended up being unstoppable. And Aphrodite's call that I thought was meh but "I'll just try it out" SHREDDED Elysium and even gave the final boss trouble.

The biggest point of stress will still be Styx. You just pray before each door that it's the correct one.

If you want to make heavy use of companion summons I would actually put aside some ambrosia since you will unlock that capacity fairly soon if you focus on key relationships.

And ambrosia both technically is used to unlock summons and also to upgrade their amount of charges.

I used only a small handful of ambrosia to trade for blood early on since I felt like I was getting enough blood from bounties and how I circulate the weapons very frequently. But those two aspects you were looking at are still some of my favorites so worth making the trade for right now I wager.

Also besides bounties there are a few fated minor prophecies you should keep your eye on your progress to, namely the ones that give a loooot of blood or ambrosia!

and you will get a huge amount of bounties by the time you reached them, so i woudlnt say that saving any ambrosia in early game is necessary

1. How conservative should I be with my Titan Blood? I have completed a few Heat 1 runs with various weapons and invested some (not all) of it in the Bow special aspect just because it seemed fun. (Basically, is it possible to max everything given time?)
2. I should be doing heat runs 1 level at a time, right? So start at heat 1 with a weapon, then move on to heat 2 if I finish a run with it, etc.?

To your first question - yes, you can get enough TB to max everything given enough time
To the second, that's entirely up to you! Do what's fun. The bounties will only accrue at 1 heat intervals, though. For example, if you have all the 1 bounties on a weapon, you could either go up to 2, and then 3, and then 4 and so on, or you can go straight to 4 from 1 and complete three runs at that heat to get the same 3 sets of bounties

Yeah, the heat question had to do with the bonuses. I think I'll just do it one level at a time because I want to get used to the game and the more advanced mechanics at a leisurely pace. The game is a bit more fast paced than the games I usually play (except Tekken). 😅

Also if you need more titan blood/ambrosia but aren't comfortable yet cranking up your bounties, you can always go for farming runs set up to maximize your gold and buy a diamond or blood at the temple or save up a bunch of gems/keys/nectar to trade up the chain of broker's exchanges until you make it to blood/ambrosia.
