You are mostly incorrect

Many characters have something that is required before you can unlock their last few hearts, but most of the time it's just "talk to them a lot until the dialog triggers"

In Charon's case, to unlock his heart you just have to spend a lot of money buying things

To fight Charon you need to have either reached the surface or beaten the final boss at least one time.

After that, there is a 22% chance a coin bag will spawn in a shop. It can spawn once per run, so if you skip it in Tartarus it won't show up again until you've returned to the House.

Anyone know if it is normal that knockback works on bosses when applied via the chiron special? If I use poseidon-special without a target, theres no knockback, but if I have the chiron targeting effect active and use special while having the poseidon-special boon even bosses get pushed across the whole arena. Very strange.

||I think ive nearly 100%'ed the game but is anyone else kinda disappointed that literally every every conflict gets solved so neatly? Everyones contracts gets improved, hades is a good dad, zag gets a mom, olympians are a good family, we learn about Skelly etc. It is a cool idea that youre rewarded for struggling through this difficult game by making all these awesome characters happy but. I dunno, i was just looking for a punchier ending like all the other supergiant games games||

The game went the best way about it. People who want to be monogamous can, but the story also allows for a polyamorous relationship where all parties care about each other. Unlike a lot of games that allow for multiple partners where the only way it works is that the character has to cheat on people

I also just think that looking at Dusa's path in game as being 'friendzoned' is a reductive way of looking at it. Even after she admits she doesn't want a sexual/romantic situation with you, both her and Zag openly tell each other that they love each other. It's just in a different way to how Zag/Than or Zag/Meg love each other. It's just as valid and nothing prevents that kind of love from being just as fulfilling as stereotypical romantic love

Yeah they have a great story arc together. I'm not a Dusa superfan, personally I prefer Nyx or Artemis, but every character that Zag forms a close bond with is amazingly well written. I ended up liking Achilles way more than I thought I would. His relationship with Patroclus is one of my favourite romantic relationships in any media I've experienced.

On the idea of a Hades expansion, I imagine most of us would be thrilled with it, but Hades is already a fully fleshed-out game story-wise, and I don’t know that adding more to that experience is actually beneficial. It’s certainly not something Supergiant seems to want to do

In regard to DLC, adding new Gods is definitely something on peoples minds, but at this point making a whole new God + their Boons would be so much work. Having to design an entirely new moveset plus a whole new bunch of Duo boons and dialogue recording, it would be more work than some people assume

To be honest I have no clue what's preventing it from triggering as I have exhausted all new dialogue from her at this point, I have every Olympian and Chaos and everyone in the house except Hypnos maxed on hearts except for Poseidon and Demeter(they're at the max hearts before the lock), and I've cleared Hades about 35 times at this point. I've also gotten all relevant dialogue from Zeus and Demeter according to the guides I've found. Is there anything that I might be missing that anyone can think of? ||

I think the obdol bag only has a chance to spawn in the middle shops so always take the middle shop when it appears.

If you're in melee you can see him wind up for the oar slap that will chunk you, he'll always follow up with the opposite side so dash through him frequently. The big soul clouds you can block with the statues, and the stun wave mash the dash button if you get hit.

I don't have advice for if he changes in extreme measures because when I see the bag on extreme measures I nope out of there.

extremely nice detail that i barely noticed on my runs

If you dash without attacking you get more I-Frames. For Charon's soul clouds the hitbox is bigger than it looks but you can time a dash between them.

Charon doesn't deviate much in his pacing so it's possible to train yourself to anticipate his attacks based on your own positioning without necessarily watching his arms to see when he's about to do the alternating 180 slaps or punish with a stun wave.

Yes, he is.

Being a butt is a wonderful quality for an antagonist to have.

He's not personal in the way Hades himself is, so he's free to be completely without "redeeming" quality and not bring the tone of the story down at all.

His status as a mid-boss doubles up on that. He can't be a climactic impasse.

Like, if Hades had no redeeming quality, or was as theatrical or unchanging as Theseus the story would suffer.

But a side character? You have to go all-in with them.

Well, you don't have to, but Theseus is top 5 most memorable character in the game (Zag, Hades, ||Persephone||, I guess the 5th is more subjective) and both the writing and performance are key.

But Theseus giving 111% at absolutely all times is fantastic and I will always adore him as a character while despising him while immersing myself as Zagreus.

One of the best-written characters in the game, without question.
