Charon does rope Hermes into helping Zag though. Oh, and it's worth noting that Hermes is the god of trade, which fits Charon's interests xDD||

Having trouble breaking Zeus' lock after the epilogue. I've tried getting a Zeus boon then talking to most gods after, but they don't seem to bring him up at all. I've tried a lot with Demeter and even got a conversation for their Duo boon, but I can't get it to trigger. Any advice?

||that may be why it hasnt triggered. each time you talk to an npc they have a pool of available dialogue they randomly pick from, the epilogue probably triggers specific dialogue. try talking to him after a few runs or smth||

Can you miss dialogue? I had a file before 1.0, on the long winter update. I started a new file with 1.0's release and just saw the credit roll, only taking me 20 attempts. I feel like I missed a lot of dialogue interactions I remember

After 30 suicides I have exhausted my dialogue with Nyx, still don't get an option for getting her favor (exhausted with Chaos long ago) and have every other favor done. Any ideas what might be missing? I have not received their prophecy yet, but neither one has a dialogue option anymore.

This is true but they're very close to major or dominant versions in most cases

There are for many gods alternate versions that come from different mysteries

But Hades follows the most common ones (especially Hesiod and Homer) for the most part

The only major deviation is Persephone's dad not being Zeus

The mortal father version is pretty common regardless though.

As someone who studied Greek mythology, SGG did an excellent job of researching the source material.

They're quite spot on and reference more obscure details in dialogue quite often.

Like how Dionysus suggests Zagreus prank Orpheus by telling him they're related.

Well, in the Orphic mysteries, they were the same figure.

If you're familiar with the source material, for the most part the Olympians feel like the same characters you know and love

For the Chthonic deities more liberties were taken but in general they don't even have dialogue or characters beyond "ooh spooky monster" in any of the myths so what're you gonna do.

I think some of the problem with a lot of the dialogue rng is that the impression I got is that a lot of things got added incrementally over the year or so of early access and playing it now with all the content right there it kinda... it gets really clogged up

like there's so much dialogue to get through and not necessarily a ton of prioritisation

Got Daedalus hammer first instead (this just happens randomly I think)
See door to Zeus Boon, swap it out. Get Demeter instead
Get Dem's boon, hear a line about lies people (including Zeus) tell (the third zeus-related line from her, IIRC)
Get Zeus boon, hear the line I need, break lock

I'm guessing it was just needing to hear all the lines from Dem or something, but it definitely feels like equipping the Zeus keepsake was actually hurting my odds? weird

Is there some prerequisite to getting Hades' final heart in his bond? It's not locked for me in the Codex but nothing I do is progressing the bond. I'm past the epilogue and have kept talking to him after every run but nothing new. I can't give him Nectar or Ambrosia.

I usually give up when there's grind in roguelikes (e.g. Dead Cells), but SG made sure there's always a reason to keep going because they treated it like all their games, with great characters and story.

If they port it to PS4 i'd probably buy it again even if there's no cross save

someone also told me once a god speaks to you in a run he won't do it again, so if you're planning on catching a fish and using a keepsake to force encounters, you might want to take heed and not push runs to the end, if that's your kind of thing.
