I was farming low-heat runs to try to see the whole ending. I was on I think my 10th, and I thoughtlessly bought an Anvil in the Act4 shop. I got Cursed Slash.

So I was annoyed--the whole point was just trying not to lose so I could unlock stuff, and I thought I was likely to die to final boss in this really annoying way (Aside: I guess you just never buy Anvil if you're playing Sword)?

But then: ||I got to final boss room, and it was the one time where, for story reasons, you don't have to fight him ||

the thing with how dialogue works is that even if you meet requirements for something, its not guaranteed to pop up immediately. so a lot of times you could be repeatedly meeting with a character for X dialogue and keep getting something else

I had finished my first run, and from a hand design standpoint meeting ||Persephone|| for the first time is so perfect. A lot of what makes us have such fond memories of games we had as a child was that they could get a bit tedious at times, (kingdom hearts, FF7, etc.) and that made the payoff of the story that much more rewarding. After running through the underworld over and over again, sometimes dying before you get out of tartarus, and sometimes dying right when you're about to kill ||hades||, while fun can make you a bit frustrated. You finally escape, and you get this reward of a beautiful reunion that you've been trying to get for hours and hours. It personally took me 20 hours (30 runs give or take) to clear the underworld. Then your reward gets ripped away from you, and you're left staring at Zagreus as ||he slowly dies|| with the knowledge you'll need to make that same climb again

the Heat thing truly is weird imo. They really alternate between "no bounties today. Hades is on break" to "You can do bounties again!" and I think I've had one moment where bounties was back open.

Also for anyone that wants to ||definitely do 32 heat when bounties aren't available, so you don't have to worry about doing what I did before and work up to 32 between runs||. Was fun and honestly, the reward was nice. :3

@gaunt talon the many thing that's spoiler-y is the fact that you mention her ||living in Greece||. The thing about her being a motivation for Zag's escape attempts is somewhat early information that learned through dialogue between Nyx and Zag, about how ||they lied to the Olympians about why he's leaving the Underworld at all||. Also don't italicize Zagreus. He's a character, not the title of the game or a work of fiction. 😛 I'm sure the high-tier editors will make that minor change.

oh yeah, I think Hypnos is making progress. Because now when I see him sometimes between runs, he's actually awake and greeting Zagreus!

I also have a quick question. I've been desperately trying to ||get smoldering air with sigil of the dead and I've had 8 chances to get it or so. Is it not possible? Can I get a call, get smoldering air, and switch the sigil? Or am I super unlucky?||

To progress any story line, it usually goes like this
Give Nectar -> Do Favor -> Give Ambosia -> BFFs forever

For ||Patty and Achilles|| you just have to max both of them and exhaust their dialogue and then Nyx will ||give you the location of Achilles' pact||

Nyx's affinity also has to be maxed for this
