Achilles already gave you the Codex
(It was a joke.)
we don't joke around here
also maybe having primordial night as a summon is a bit.. much
(A very good one, if I may say so myself, and I may.)
(<--has an outstanding sense of humor)
if you have to clarify it was a joke, it wasnt a good one 🤧
who else we got besides achilles and nyx
The chef
I want chef companion
hmm what could cerb feasibly do though
Hm.
Instead of Than's concentrated circle and Meg's line, randomized blasts across the map?
yeah i dont think they could do a cerb summon without making him do like. something offscreen. throwing something like sisyphus and bouldy or whatever
as much as i wish for hypnos..... im really feeling achilles as the final
just makes the most sense i think
orpheus suffers a similar issue to hypnos. what could they reasonably offer as a summon?
sleep with hypnos would seem like the obvious thing but somehow dont think they would go that route unfortunately
achilles would be an easy choice because its more damage
we have our decoy though, skelly. theres not really anyone else that serves that purpose
The real companion is the suffering fun we have along the way.
Like a meta decoy
Achilles is contractually bound to be in the House of Hades. If we get a way to release him from that, summoning him wouldn't be entirely unlikely. He'd be the first without a physical form, though.
You summon Bouldy, though.
Well, I guess Sisyphus would count. Dusa is never said to be a shade. All the shade NPCs are transparent.
actually, skelly is dead too. it is implied he was a human before. I don't get why he's a skeleton and not a shade
well you still summon bouldy. or i guess sisyphus slings bouldy? how does that work actually. theres some untapped lore and a lot of unasked questions
shade*
I think Sisyphus throws Bouldy from Tartarus to wherever you are.
How would he get Bouldy back?
thats so funny because i can only imagine the furies when they go to check in on him and hes just slung bouldy over to zag
Bouldy always returns to the bottom of the hill.
he's KO'd Meg three times and Alecto twice like that
pretty sure shades all can interact with physical world in underworld anyway. otherwise how would you fight all of these dead people
Sisyphus says something like our friendship/hearts connect us or whatever when Zagreus asks him about it. I don't remember the exact dialogue.
Zagreus: "How does summoning you and Bouldy work?"
Sisyphus: ". . . magic?"
Z: O . . . kay?
oh he says gods can do incredible things and all that friendship stuff
Ah yes, the banana peel approach to lore
I haven't seen Sisyphus in ages xD
@atomic forge and also Hades at least once.
Okay, look, that one was intentional.
Okay I think I'm missing something. I've had Artemis at the lock for a while now, and I've gotten boons from her several times. Without spoiling too much about what happens after, what do I need to do next?
keep talking to her. theres a specific chain of dialogue you need her to talk about
alright, thanks
I love the little prank that Dionysus and Zag play on Orpheus.
I would like an answer to a question without spoilers if possible. I have been playing for 25 hours and I have fought Hades 4 times but never won. I feel that I am very near, but I am starting to notice in the las 2 runs that lots of dialogues are missing. Does this game has a proper ending at this stage? should I wait for the game release to finish it? I don't want to spoil this work of art.
As I said in discussion, that sounds like a bug you should report, do you know how?
@chilly summit As you play the game more, you will notice that a lot of people come and go from different parts of the House of Hades, which is normal. You won't ruin the experience by defeating Hades.
Or further, you will still be able to complete more of the story after doing so with no penalty
(look in #h1-discussion , Isra explained what they meant by missing)
I see. thank you both. I will repot if this problem still persists.
There are hours of dialogue in the game. The game isn't over when you beat Hades. That's just the beginning.
How do I unlock the last song on the list ||Good riddance||? I've unlocked the stand, finished the orpheus questline and did the bit where he sings that particular song in the hall once. Do I have to just keep talking to them and hopefully get it unlocked?
Hm? It doesn't appear on the Renovations song list?
Ah it does indeed.. near the top I thought it would be at the bottom since it is the last one! Guess it's shifted due the price
it appeared as ??? on the sheet music, so thought it was still missing when I didn't see it in renovations on the first look over. Since Hymn to Zagreus when unlocked stopped showing up as ???
Happened to me too a few days ago. Big F my dude.
oh no :c
when you miss a fishing spot in chaos the symbol on chaos' boon should turn into a big L
❤️ with a clock means it isn't available yet; they will be available in future updates. ❤️ with a lock means you have to make progress with the character's storyline, and each character has different ways to advance their story.
How can i advance with zeus ?
I read that you need to ||advance his story with Demeter by acquiring their Duo boon|| so I advice you try that until his heart is unlocked
(thank you for spoiler tagging that xD, I started to read it before I realized what it was but caught myself in time)
focus on their backstory, essentially.
one day if i get bored enough and adhd allows i may just put together a list of required dialogue for fun since this comes up a lot but we shall see. throws it on my endless list of things to do eventually
to unlock zeus' heart you need to ||get a bunch of olympians to talk about him (by having one of his boons before you talk to said olympians, do it multiple times in demeter's case), get one of his duo boon convos with demeter and give him nectar until you cant anymore||
@open berry I've looked at some of the voice line requirements and honestly this is a herculean task. You're talking about 100s of diaglogue flags.
I know :')
trust me i have gone through them but i was thinking about how to reduce it down to the the most relevant bits to the affection level itself, as much of the game's dialogue is dependent on each other anyway so thats rather besides the point
people only want to know what they need to focus on for the affection level, not everything required up to that point. you get that easily enough just playing through the game normally
but its largely an issue with me wanting to do dozens of things at once and not having the attention span for any of it more than. anything else honestly lmao
maybe if i get another itch for some lore deep dive and characterization 🤧 would be easier if they were characters i were more biased towards and thus more inclined to just do that work for regardless haha
Out of curiosity, how would you go about something like that?
putting the data together or finding it? one of those cant be discussed here
Finding it, guessing that can't be discussed
ding
i do hope by 1.0 there is... something.. implemented to aid in this. granted only three of the olympians have expanded affection but given that zeus has been one everyone has trouble with, there needs to be like. a way to check dialogue ingame, some kind of progress bar on the affection, i dont man just something to make it more clear to players that they're on the right track
unlocking artemis' heart: ||just keep listening to her gushing about her gf||
unlocking zeus' heart: ||do this and that while having this thing and holding that thing and cross your fingers||
(ty for still spoiler tagging)
(it doesnt rly explain a lot but thats p much it)
oh also idk if it's a huge thing but ||zeus' ambrosia route is the only one that actually requires you to finish the game once since you need to interact with demeter who only appears after you do that||
lmao yeah honestly thats a mood. at least artemis i feel i pretty self explanatory once the needed lines start popping up, you might go, oh these are different, maybe these are important since she keeps bringing it up. aphrodite is a bit easy to pin down too if you remember shes the goddess of love, nevermind that shes broken right now. but zeus? theres no obvious indication of what you need to do to make any progress with his
oh and aphrodite too
though you dont necessarily have to ||finish the game once|| but it might as well be easier that way
oh yeah, the later zeus progression felt extremely nebulous
i was just playing normally up until oh, okay i guess there's still more here huh
Should I just leave for a bit so y'all don't need to worry about tagging everything? :3
you have to go more out of your way with zeus. once you know about it it seems a bit obvious what he needs, but the problem is figuring that out. its not made obvious to the player at all
Aight ^.^
tbh i had a gut feeling that i had to ||get zeus and demeter to interact together just to see what happens, given how they keep trash talking each other|| but then again it wasnt clear if i made progress at all
yeah. thats the biggest problem with his, you have no indication of progress
i actually stumbled on zeus ambrosia pretty much by accident, which felt weird because the others seemed more natural or expected/i saw them coming
you're definitely the minority haha but yeah i think it is largely agreed the way his affection quest is handled needs to be looked at again
it's not a quest it's a struggle
it might simply have to do with how much i had been playing, in general, just pretty frequently cycling through runs
to the point where i suppose i was bound to run into it
once you eventually inevitably exhaust unique dialogue, its bound to show up lmao
which is kind of a problem that's more pronounced in early access at least
having backlogged dialogue preventing others from showing up
i mostly mean the nyx additions which were unavoidable
Yeah for me zeus just randomly said "yo, you're my favorite dude ever!" and then the last heart unlocked
given that most new players in 1.0 will naturally have her dialogue from the start
but boy was it weird having to go "okay nyx yes ok please can i use arthur now"
i dont know how they could indication progression but given the nature of unlocking the affection meter on zeus, he 100% needs something to tell the player that they're on the right track, otherwise its a game of just picking up every boon until you eventually get it
if you dont guess who his affection is tied with then you're pretty much out of luck
lol nyx didnt give me sword aspect dialogue until like 13 runs in, my enthusiasm for it was diminished considerably by then, as i had a win streak going and didnt want to suicide runs for it
crawling back into the house on my hands and knees begging mother night to just give me the new aspect 😩
man. just thinking about. new aspects. and all the dialogue that comes with them. and wondering if im gonna have a replay of arthur rofl
oh yeah i've got some Fear about becoming enamored with the next new aspect and having to spend 20 runs wishing i had it already even though i probably meet the technical requirements
Final aspects all seem to be super powerful in exchange for having to work around a particular weakness
Lots of interesting design space there
yeah im noticing they're vastly different thus far
I'm really excited to see the other
im hoping for a railgun/sniper rifle for the gun
really low ammo count, tons of damage
or a charge shot
Aspect of Pavlichenko.
that'd be sick
Eris is already that isn't it? With the powerful lever-action feel to it?
I kinda suspect they might axe spread fire and make it the new aspect
Maybe chargeshot is the dream
LOL
goodriddance
at least every run in the world wont be "did you get spread"
Is there a fix for aphro's last heart never unlocking?
Can someone remind me who it is worth giving nectar to at the moment? I've done most of the quests I believe (none of the Olympians quests yet, if they have them) but I'm not super good at this game so I'm stingy with my nectar
You'll get more nectar than you know what to do with, I wouldn't worry too much. But almost everyone will give you something for their first nectar. After that, there are certain benefits to giving extras to Meg, Dusa, Than, and Sisyphus
@mystic mortar i just did a quick search and it sounds like the aphro bug has no workaround other than waiting for next patch
Yep, I've done all those, thanks @cedar mason
I guess i really wanted to know whose hearts dialogue I can complete. Like does Hypnos or Achilles or Cerberus have much more dialogue with more than 1-3 hearts, or should I focus on the Olympians (and which ones)?
achilles yes, cerberus and hypnos not really
i would think the order or priority would be gifting everyone once for their keepsakes since those are powerful and can help you in future runs
and the 4 mentioned by salmon can be given further nectars for additional gameplay benefit
that'd probably be the most pragmatic way to approach it
Yeah thanks, I'm trying to figure out who to prioritise now that I have completed those. Have also done Orpheus and Nyx (And related peoples)
also skelly
Nyx, Chaos, Orpheus and Eurydice have good story and dialogue development from repeated gifting and conversation
Ah, cool
I love Skelly's summoning quote when he slides into the foreground and shouts "Time to get beat up!" Makes me laugh every time
Im just super stingy with my nectar and titans blood etc because it takes me SO LONG to get anything
I kinda wish I'd started when there was god mode, but also I like that im making slow slow progress
(and getting my husband to help win things cause he is actually good)
Not on hell mode. Can you turn god mode on and off?
you can but god mode bad
@mystic mortar not until update, no. devs are aware she is broken, there's a pinned message here about it
god mode just gives you dmg reduction
duwang is just salty about good mode
i think it's very nice and helpful
you start out with 20% damage reduction and get 2% per death
the entire purpose of having it is to help players more invested in the story than the gameplay, no need to slander it mate
it's less salty and more feel like it makes the game cheaper plus most of my posts about it is me screwing around
that's not up to you to decide for others if it cheapens the game or not
If you turn it off, do you lose all the 2% per death bonuses? And go back to 20% dmg reduction?
You retain the %
If you turn it off and back on later, it retains whatever % it had last
Because i love this game but i absolutely suck at moving + fighting at the same time. I end up just mashing all the buttons and hoping for the best.
you'll probably get more used to it but i love god mode to death
it's very handy to get used to everything!
plus it sorta sets your own difficulty level yk
Also with my eyesight i find it very difficult to follow all the stuff on the screen, where zag is, where the enemies are, where all the projectiles are, if I can hit call yet, etc.
My eyes literally cannot track and process that quickly so i end up dying. Shield is fav weapon due to protection
i kinda feel like it cheapens the whole experience imo
a big part of the fun on games like hades is managing to get through it ought of figuring how the game works or learning enemy patterns, imo god mode takes away from it
you got eyesight issues? that sucks
i kinda feel like it cheapens the whole experience imo
a big part of the fun on games like hades is managing to get through it ought of figuring how the game works or learning enemy patterns, imo god mode takes away from it
still i think telling people what to do and how to play isn't a very cool thing to do buddy
i am just going to link this any time anyone says god mode is "cheating" or "cheapens" the experience https://twitter.com/SupergiantGames/status/1205592342108889088
We want the new God Mode in #HADES to help open up the thrilling experience of playing rogue-likes to more folks out there, or just let you relax & enjoy our story. Wonderful to hear this early response to it!
You just turn it on & get tougher; if you die, it powers up a bi...
214
Yeah i cant follow or play any ball sports in person cause i cant track fast moving objects 😭
oh that's rough
@bergenwallare God Mode is a mode you can toggle on and off whenever you want in the game (unless you're playing in Hell Mode, that is!). It makes you tougher if you so desire. We want anyone invested in our story to be able to see it through.
shokai you're a dear
also officer that's ooooof
you can say it cheapens the experience to you but to say it overall to me feels disrespectful to sgg for thinking of adding it as an accessibility feature
maybe there's programs for helping you track? idk a lot sadly
This is a beautiful game, and its actually the first game ive ever played. I am definitely going to try God Mode now
please do!! it makess it so much better
i mean
they essentially stated it is in the post they said
also in your particular case turning godmode on might not be a bad idea, aye
things can get very hectic later on
especially when it comes to projectiles
you can say it cheapens the experience to you but to say it overall to me feels disrespectful to sgg for thinking of adding it as an accessibility feature
@open berry
This!! Definitely accessibility! I am going to share with my friends who dont play games (esp like this style) but love intricate storytelling and great music and art. God mode will help them over the barrier. And then if they get invested they can turn it off and try
i am not directing this at you specifically duwang, you just happen to be bringing it up rn so ofc now i'm thinking about it but tbh that's one part of the hades community i decidedly don't like, the part that almost seems to shame people for having the gall to even look at god mode. if you don't like it, don't want to use it, ect, then don't use it. that feature isn't aimed at you. let people who want to use it do so without feeling bad about it.
may i suggest generally using athena too? not having to worry about projectiles when dashing might help too
welcome to the game mate
since her dash makes it so projectiles bounce back when they hit you
Genuinely god mode is a great choice by the devs
Yeah i have tried divine dash but i forget that i cant dash and still fight at the same time. I am super super slowly getting better at timing things like the deflect and trying to work out animations but i end up just taking damage to try get through the furies and just losing DD.
and its super nice to see
@balmy crystal feel that though, some of my friends that have played the game would not have gotten invested in it without god mode, because the gameplay just isn't something they're normally interested in, or used to
exactly
oh yeah another tip if you like using shields
all this does is help people who aren't able
and is completely ignored if you want the "True" challenge
bullrushes cancel damage during the charge too
i just continually wish they would rename it to something that isnt inherently associated with invincibility cheat codes
yeah same
yeah they probably gave it the name as a pun
i know, but people see Gode Mode in the menu and immediately assume its an instant cheat
at first i thought god mode was hard mode xD
yeah ahshdhf
most "god mode" cheats arent easily accessible like that
i discovered that when charging at a boss back with the shield when doing a bullrush
also i love your nickname hermes
and it does give a description when you hover it no?
Hahaha @vapid parcel I appreciate it
(Make hermes appear in runs 1-3)
it ought to cancel damage from sources that are coming right at you when you're nyoooming at them
im not saying they are but given the prevalence of the 'it feels like cheating' mindset around turning it on, well
fair
Mmm i just didn't realize it was a toggle. i saw someone comment that they wanted the dmg reduction to go up and down if you escape vs die and thought it was permanent for a save file
I'm just glad people have the option
That's so awesome
Dose aspect of demeter stack ?
no
chill stacks to give bigger slow
or talking about different stuff?. oh woops you meant fists. then idk what the question is. you just stack with attack then spend with special
How far do I have to get to unlock Titan Blood upgrades?
no, you can get it far earlier than that
or later depending on how much you take to do a full run
you just need to get all infernal arms and then leave to do a run
the next time you go back to the house you'll be able to start unlocking and upgrading aspects whether you succeed or die on the way
sword: eh
spear: favorite weapon
shield: meh
bow: meeeeeh.
also dw about discussing weapons, those are not considered spoilers
also
blaspheming the holy shield
nah
hades is pretty fast paced but they're both entirely different types of game altogether
unless you're using exagryph
also known as
I was joking lmao
g u n
this game has a gun
i am not joking
the special fires a missile
again, not joking
it is actually a pretty fun weapon to use
I haven't used the shield much
I think I've beaten Meg with uhh
Spear and Bow?
Sword too, I think?
on the shelf in your room, next to the lyre. Is that the beyonder crystal?
the wot
nonono, not the lyre
huh
the orb on the shelf next to it
oh
It's slightly less low res than it looks, I expanded that section of the screenshot
it's just an easter egg
Which has led people into looking for bastion and transistor ones but I don't think there are any for the moment
not that I've heard of anyway
I want to check if I'm on the right track for Artemis, just a yes or no please: || She starts talking about having friends ||
right track for what
unlocking, well, the lock
Yes
Guys don’t get offended because of games that beneath humans
Imagine getting offended.
Yeah i rather someone tell me my play style sucks and then having a discussion about the game rather than shushing him
Sorry my English is bad
How can o get the last sword and is it as strong as guan yu ?
check pinned messages for unlocking sword aspect
does arthur sword do dash attack?
got the upgrade for 2hits on dash attack but it still looks like 1
yeah, it does a stab
not sure if the animation will show anything really different, but you should see two damage numbers
oh yeah there it is animation shows just subtle
Can someone point me in the right direction for the Prophecy "The Useless Trinket"?
I've been trying to figure it out for a while and I'm stuck
talk to skelly
it'll pop out after a while, aye
i think it requires a certain number of max heat
emphasis on think anyway
Okay
I've got the other Skelly quest (killing him with maxed zag sword)
not related?
you'll notice when you've triggered the requirements once you enter the courtyard
don't think it is, no
but do it anyway since that'll fulfill half the requirements for Arthur
np
Arthur isn’t tied to skelly’s request proper, it just requires a certain amount of blood invested into the sword
But by maxing zagreus’ sword you can basically do both requirements at once
Hades' final boss theme having 3 clearly defined parts worries me, wonder how hardcore a third phase Hades can get
depends on what he summons in phase 1 i guess
he stands around doing nothing a -lot- in phase 2
Lasers are free damage
Summoning urns free damage
him attackin with urns up = free damage (they count as traps and hit him)
Even his swings put him in animation lock so you can easily dodge with overcompensation to be safe
and still make it in to deal damage
i'm prettttty sure they don't
they do definitely count as traps, I'm almost at the fight so I'll let you know if I notice them hurting him
i think sgg would take the initiative to not make his own urns hurt him lol
about phase 1 and 2
phase 2 is easier depending on what he summons in phase 1
phase 2 is good at punishing overstaying your welcome while making use of his dead times
alright, about to go in. don't have a great build but I should be able to reach phase 2
but i'm not sure i would personaly be able to resist a whole new phase 3
wait he does for real? never noticed it either :/
be hurt by his own urns on phase 2
godspeed, and remember: bait and slash, bait and slash until it's done
i made sure it wasn't from any other source of damage, no bow shot, no cast, no status effect
just green hands
it also does a chunk
or not lol
this is with heightened security on
I really did not have a good build though
huh
it would be the first time heightened security added a whole new phase right?
trap damage increase does not discriminate
🌈 The more you know 🌈
5x the trap dmg for 1 heat... yeah, not worth it
yes
Do you want to take it back?
If you want?
Do you care about regrinding?
you're not meant to feel bad over which ever choice you make
each option has legitimate reason behind it
for narrative and stuff. but if you're really in need of ambrosia to upgrade companions with, since that gets expensive.. well..
note that dusa explicitly says she doesn't want your help stocking the shelves
so i took all that ambrosia back
i decided to take them back because i personally interpreted it as her being kind of uncomfortable with the weight/expectations of all those gifts
but yeah again, there's no true wrong answer there
thats how you know sgg got you
I listened to both conversations and decided to leave them
not cause of how Medusa reacts but Zag's reaction
Come again Nyx? You want me to sacrifice how much Darkness?
Yeah, guess you're not gonna see your mate Chaos for a while then.
it is a very specific number but it might be a reference to the infinity symbol/omega? thats the only reason i can conclude
looked into how greek numerals were used and immediately looked back away, numbers and i have never gotten along
not even gonna go into that, so yeah all i can think of is infinity lol
because 8 is a purple number
8 is definitely a purple number
8 being a purple number is a hc I accept
8 over here stands for fortune you rly do need a fortune to unlock that so I guess they're right
the hc being my synesthesia
i mean i just did it the lazy way and respec'd my mirror lmao but i had enough total darkness to grab everything important and keep enough on hand for the quest
i imagine by the time it comes up in a full, post 1.0 launch run you will not have that luxury though
i had enough darkness already tucked away and i was surprised when people said that it was a really high cost :v
CJSKAF damn onyx you don't pull back any punches
I went on a chaos darkness farm
It was fun
FKJDS i've just been playing a really long time doesn't show for anything though
ayyye synesthesia
@amber vessel continuing here then
maybe zagreus wasn't even born normally, but more like Venus, and Persephone doesn't even know about him. Like she stormed out, beat the crap out of hades, and some blood she/they spilled turned into a baby
"who are you and why are you calling me mom?"
that would be quite sad, to be honest XD
I think that the mismatched eyes and the flaming feet will give her a solid hint on Zagreus' Identity.
One thing that needs to be said is that Zagreus is not exaclty Persephones greatest fan either.
He has his doubts about why she left him alone like she did. Saw at least one line of dialogue that indicated that.
Which is a good thing because I would have hated Zagreus being that naive about it.
btw, in original myth persephone spends 4-6 months every year in hades, which results in winter because apparently demeter is that attached to her. We know she's not on olympus nor in hades, and there's snow everywhere in hades fight. Does this mean that ever since Persephone's disappearance there's been permanent ice age? All these references to Demeter being into cold and snow now.
Demeter pretty much confirmed this.
She has been bringing a very enduring winter on the mortal realms because she was unable to find her daughter.
She is also a martial artist apparently.
Word has it that she slapped the titans around with Malphon.
Which, by the way, I would love to see.
one of its aspects is hers
so we'll get to see some apocalyptic landscapes likely. And Percy better have a very good reason to make things so bad for basically everyone
Demeter and zagreus’ and hades’ dialogue confirms that the earth has indeed been hit by the divine opposite of global warming and is going through an eternal winter
If you reach hades with one of Demeter’s boons on you have a chance of him commenting on it
I hope she didn't elope with some Paris type
MAYBE IT IS FIMBULWINTER AND WE GET AN EPIC TRANSITION INTO NORSE MYTHOLOGY AND RAGNAROK IS COMING WHAAAAAAH!
No, probably not.
My wild guess is that persephone is on a farm.
Having nothing to do and feeling stupid because of eternal winter giving her nothing to do.
And we do know that things are not exactly simple seeing how Hades of all persons cautions us against telling Demeter and that it could “ruin everything”
telling her what exactly? that percy is missing?
I assume that initially Persephone either ran into Hades or outright died
There is also still the huge question as of why both olympians and chaos have such a big interest in Zagreus' quest.
That persephone is on the underworld
And not kidnapped by mortals like she thinks she is
Also, Nox made it very clear that there are bigger things at stake here.
Demeter doesn’t know Persephone ran to the underworld
Or died
On that note, rememberthat Persephone is only a demi god in this games mythos.
wait, demeter thinks persephone is kidnapped by mortals?
olympians have interest on him because he is the next new thing
Mother Demeter, Father Mortal Farmer
and they will lose interest on him as soon as he reaches olympus
artemis herself tells us this
Yeah, iirc Demeter thinks Persephone was taken by mortals
That’s why she’s got such a hatred of mortals and basically created an eternal winter
There’s also plan B which is actually both
Maybe Persephone died and mortals killed her or something, but that sounds kinda unlikely
Demeter was actually considering that Persephone died and was like "Yo, Zagreus, could she be.....naaah, nevermind have this bye lol"
so it's like persephone's myth got interrupted midway. So maybe she just didn't like being abducted by hades and ran away at the first opportunity or something?
She made that much clear.
She said that she can't stand being in the underworld. How exactly her "running away" worked out we do not know.
There is also that huge story plot about how you are supposed to be tied to the underworld forever as soon as you eat something from the underworld
which, by the way, would put an interesting twist on all the times Eurydice has fed us food.
Eurydice Hades' secret Agent to keep Zagreus in the underworld confirmed?
I mean
We’ve presumably already been eating underworld food anyway
eh, we've been here since birth, surely we ate something already
Yeah
I know.
I mean
Poms Of Power, every run
All the snacks we got thanks to Lamias Eye, Dusa Keepsake and Sisyphus.
And prior to that i assume Zag had to eat something
Hell, maybe Zagreus even had a slice of that Ambrosia cake for one of his birthdays
though originally persephone ate some poms and had to spend 4-6 months per year in hades
so even if this is a thing, it's not to the point where you have to spend 100% of time there now
He’s not a full on god, i don’t think he’d be able to live without food
Maybe you need to eat constantly for the "imprisoning" effect to keep working
Even if he’s mostly divine
also note how persephone was outside of hades long enough for zag to grow up unaware she was his mother
so the food thing is tenuous
i think what kept persephone tied to the underworld where pommegranate seeds
Poms of Power
yes, that's what's in the myth
it really is a weird detail in the game to add those poms
until you get to read the reason XD
usually, unless either too watery or too acidic
The only reason I do not like to eat them too much is because they are so....seedy?
I don't even notice the seeds. It's the tedium or taking them apart that gets me sometimes
Just got an E-Mail from my boss. Thought for a moment they cought me slacking
but they just send me late congratulations for my birthday 😄
but some people do notice the seeds
well, whatever is waiting for zag on the surface
it's gonna be a lot of war and cold
I bet.
honestly, there might not be much left of humankind by now if demeter was starving them for at least 15-20 years (since zag's birth)
i do wonder if they will add the missing gods though
but maybe she's vindictive enough to allow them to barely survive
and ares is enjoying a fair share of bloodshed due to war
and suffer
@shut shale We do not know if she did do that whole eternal winter thing for Zagreus entire lifetime.
For all we know, it could be a recent thing she just came up with.
Also, we do not know how old Zagreus is I think?
it works with the myth though - whenever persephone isn't on olympus, we have winter
For all we know, he could be hundreds and thousands of years old?
i do suspect if she realizes zagreus's own bloodline, she ain't gonna go full good granny
yeah, that's why I said at least
i mean, most common thing would be to her, that loves her daughter so much, to also love her grandson
but gods and goddesses work in weird ways
maybe she loves persephone so much because of her character or whatever. If it was just the question of blood, she would be similarly obsessed with the rest of her family
Another thing to note:
Persephone was called "Kore" by Demeter
which, according to Hades, is a name that Persephone hated.
imagine initiating minor apocalypse every time your daughter leaves the house to spend a few months with her husband
That might hint at a not so lovely relationship between Demeter and Persephokore
so Percy might hate both hades and olympus and just want to live with humans
There is a good chance that Demeter might be just a bit delusional.
Yeah, from oveall dialogues Persephone seemed to be actually taking shelter from her mother in the underworld
To then just escape because
Well, that place is lifeless, pun intended
It took Zagreus escaping for the house to actually get some life thrown into it and start resembling a place people actually live in
I honestly don’t blame her for being unable to take it after some point, the House is pretty bleak and only Cthonics seem to be ok with it
that line when Hades gives Orpheus an ultimatum about finding his voice: "you have a hundred years, and not a day more!" really puts things into perspective
it's a real swamp
Most cthonics seem to have some sort of affinity for it amusingly enough
Neither Hades or Thanatos seem to be able to stand the outside world
But Persephone being a nature demigod (and one born of the goddess of harvest no less)
Well, i can understand why she’d dislike the place to the point where she’d consider outright leaving
it depends on ways of living too
live forever outside, and isolation and darkness is depressing
liver forever inside, and the outside seems too bright and overwhelming
Yeah but even then
Zag seems to have more of an affinity to it and he’s been inside forever
does he? he is the one bringing life to the underworld
and is actively trying to escape
I honestly do think Cthonic entities may actually, naturally be drawn to it more
he might not like it, but he wants to know
or so he tells Than
but I think that he has a point about him telling Zagreus that he should be happy with his life in the underworld.
why would you hate thanatos?
He's a douche.
more than a douche
Yeah, but he does seem at least curious about the outside world, whereas other Cthonic entities like Thanatos or Megaera seem to be repulsed by the outside world, with than outright telling zag he can’t understand what he sees on the outside
i think Thanatos fits the definition of tsundere
Zag is the only one that haven't had the chance of seeing the outside world
he might dislike it too, once there
but we can't know, because it's something he hadn't experienced
He actually says it’s not that bad once you reach the final boss’ arena iirc
does he say anything about his feelings on the underworld as a whole?
He at least seemed to like it at a first glance
he only saw like a small arena
wait for him to reach actual outside
with war and neverending winter
he doesn't really comment on the surface world, other than wanting to see it and not knowing what things are
I mean, let us be real here:
Zagreus is the son of the god of the underworld. Their relationship is strained, but it is there, and it gives Zagreus a lot of opportunities to act in the underworld, a lot of which we actually utilized in gameplay by being able to reunite friends with loved ones or doing renovations.
Thanatos and Meg also made it pretty clear that Zagreus would/could have also had the opportunity to go to other parts of the underworld, maybe even to the outside world to a degree if he would take his "responsibilities" around the house a bit more serious.
As far as I can tell, a lot about the game could have been simpler if Zagreus would not try hard (and die hard) to do this whole "run away from home" thing.
I’d say less try hard and more just rushing head-in, aye
I also think that people like Thanatos and Meg are justified in being upset with Zagreus. They are people who like and love him and Zagreus was willing to just throw all of that away just for the sake of looking out for someone who abandoned him.
He could have been more sneaky about it
But then again we wouldn’t have a game if he were
The whole thing becomes comical and less consequential because he fails and dies over and over again
but that initial spark, that initial bit of ruthless determination to leave everything and everyone behind
that was still there.
If we just go by what the game tells us, gives us, Hades, Zagreus and Persephone really have a rough time on understanding relationship dynamics.
throw away exactly what? it's not like he intends to leave forever
We do not know that.
They do not know that.
I am not even sure if Zagreus himself knows it.
Yeah for all intents and purposes zag is breaking out in the most reckless and violent way possible
Up to and including stealing a literal forbidden weapon for it
Yes and no!
He did not steal them.
They just appeared in his courtyard, but he did not put them there.
someone did
his goal is to find persephone, not to leave and never return. If he finds her and decides he wants to live with her, he can return and say that to people later, then that would be like that
and also brought in the skeleton
We know who, Achilles busted the weapons out for him
No one has a clue who exactly employed skelly though
We do know that Nyx is doing and understanding a lot of things that happen behind the curtains.
Remember, it was Nyx who contacted the Olympians.
my theory is skelly is tied to charon somehow
I have not had that interaction with achilles yet, so it was him?
It was Nyx who managed to give Zagreus information on where to go on the underworld once he makes it past Hades.
I am sure Achilles said that he did NOT do it.
He did give Zagreus the Key Word to unlocking Guan Yu though
i do remember that too, but maybe it's a future interaction i've not seen so i'd rather ask XD
Things we do not know are:
What do the fates have in store? There are things they know that Nyx is not aware of.
How does Chaos fit in? I have doubts about him being in it just for the sake of entertainment.
If we go by what he says and by what other characters say about chaos, he is not one to just randomly chat people up regularly, but with us, he talks all the time.
we also literally go down tartarus to find them
How does Skelly fit in, on whoms payroll is he on? Nobody knows a thing about him or why he is there. Hell, a lot of people aren't even aware that he is there.
And then there is the Narrator.
He knows and understands pretty much everything, he killed us multiple times and Zagreus can talk and respond to him, so he is SOMEONE in this whole overarching story.
only zagreus seems to hear him though
narrator killed us? how?
No, iirc what he said is that he did not hire skelly
everytime we end the game, the narrator kills us
In comedic ways.
@shut shale I just want to point out that you're incorrect and that zag tells chaos if he could leave the underworld forever, he would
I've just woken up briefly and skimmed the convo lmao but saying zag doesn't intend to leave forever is wrong bc there's dialogue that directly contradicts that
ah I see
Chaos: Son of Hades, if you locate the one who called herself Persephone, shall it then come to pass that we no longer see each other in this way? Respond.
Zag: Oh, I... Master Chaos, I don't know what to expect, from there. But to be direct with you... if I could leave the Underworld forever... I think I would. Though I would miss you. Many others here.
Chaos: ...I would miss you as well. Thank you for telling me.
had to pull it up from an old convo but 🤔
the fact he only informs chaos of this is also a bit telling
still believe skelly is ||perse's mortal father||
it's an interesting theory for sure, makes more sense than titan involvement
i think skelly's got something to do with charon. he's got a coin in his mouth, which is something the ancient greeks would do to their dead to pay for passage down the styx
well, he's a skeleton, and he's in the underworld
sure, but why hasn't charon taken his payment then?
the coin is still in his mouth because he was delivered by a 3rd party directly to the house

bypassing Charon and the Styx trip
not a bad idea
granted we're getting charon story arc next month but I can't see him having any direct involvement with skelly imo
though I am interested in seeing what sgg does with him all the same
Charon only sees to those delivered to his boat at the top of Styx
Thanatos knows who Skelly is
does he? It's implies he doesn't? like if you summon skelly in a thanatos challenge he asks if that's a friend of zags
notice how Zag never asks the other god of the dead who Skelly is
literally no one knows who skelly is
don't think that necessarily means anything
not even nyx
Thanatos sees to the dead, he'd even know if Persephone died
that doesn't inherently mean the god of death immediately knows who all the dead are though
why not?
Skelly works for Hades.
nothing implies it
we know ||nyx helped persephone escape from the underworld|| but after that nothing
That's purely speculated
I don’t think skelly is anyone relevant identity-wise, i genuinely think he’s a rando that got called down
there's not a single rando in Hades
tbh i'm a sucker for the "comic relief character with major plot relevance" trope
I wouldn't rule out that we'll never find out who hired Skelly.
the powers that be
and with that I go back to sleep
It also explains the statues.
Skelly: "I am you from the future. There is no time to explain!"
goddamn Hera bow + poseidon cast is so good
i really wish poseidon + artemis had a duo boon
I really wish we had all the remaining duo boons
but I honestly am not sure what I would like Poseidon + Artemis' Duo Boon to be.
The name would probably be related to fishing.
Can't be an actual fishing duo boon because you need to unlock that rod first.
Breakup: enemies affected by Weak bounce off of each other if they get too close
I'd rather they're drawn together, so I can hit more of them at once.
drawing together is not much of a poseidon boon side
or maybe some sort of Aphro cast modification that turns it into a wave similar to Poseidon's Call
or similar to the waves those red guys shoot in Asphodel
those also have knockback
Am I the only person who saw that dream sequence where Zag's in the administrative area as sympathetic? Zag strikes me as a member of the younger generation trying to survive in a world he was:
-
Not adequately prepared for
-
Never given a choice about
-
Not a good fit for in any case.
He hits kind of close to home, in that he mirrors a lot of the response a lot of my friends and myself have to the current socioeconomic situation. It heavily favors a single type of person who can be properly obsequious and sit still with busywork they don't care about for hours on end, to the point that anyone who can't do that is effectively unemployable, and then when he fails to do anything, the powers that be berate him for being useless and unproductive, instead of acknowledging that maybe they're just terrible teachers. I don't see Zag as lazy, I see the bureaucracy surrounding the underworld as heartless and unconcerned with anything except its own perpetuation.
He did shirk some of his desk duties aside a couple times in the desk area mind you, plus the fact that he overslept, arrived late and dialogue seeming to imply it was a regular thing
Imo both parts had a bit of a point, zag was probably not the best of workers but he was very likely not given as much preparation for the hell that is the underworld’s bureaucracy, and Hades had a very short fuse with him
Is achilles gay ?
yes
about the administrative room
yeah, it was a combination
hades was a berating teacher
someone awfull to learn from, and that also lead zag, not made for those kind of jobs, to have an even harder time to learn how to do such hellish task
I mean, oversleeping and arriving late can have a lot of implications other than "being lazy." It could, for example, be symptomatic of his perception of the underworld bureaucracy as meaningless, so why would you get up on time for that? Or it could be symptomatic of anxiety and depression (considering how unforgiving Hades seems to be as a teacher), or even just that the work doesn't catch his interest (one of the symptoms of ADHD).
also that there is no damn way to know what time is it on hell
That is also true. No one even knows if it's day or night, let alone the hour.
(...house renovation: ....clocks?)
they havent invented those 😔
but there was a convo about installing a sundial
they have some weird
light uh
thing?
also from the way he says it on the flashback it sounds like he just
plain just overslept
Yeah, just saying that oversleeping can be symptomatic of a deeper issue, and discussion of the concept of a daily punch clock as it applies to empoyment that probably doesn't belong on this server.
he thinks he overslept bc apparently he can never tell what time it is and judging by the whole "day or night" running gag he's not the only one
How do you use Aspect of Arthur properly
Probably just keep whacking the enemies in the head?
Unless there is a specific problem you want solved?
It feels like I'm way too slow especially with the swings
The aura is great but why would I stay in it
Are you supposed to play Arthur as dashing and stabbing or
excalibur doesn't interrupt its combos when you dash so you can compensate it being inherently slower by just dashing between hits
Tysm I did not know that
I usually open with a special into dash cancel
I've been standing still like an idiot this whole time
Which imo works especially great if you have Divine Dash to deflect between hits.
Then either Dashstrike or use the above combo
just screw around in the courtyard for a bit to see what each new aspect does when you unlock it
I did but I never noticed that dash didn't stop the combo
it'll let you at least set a starting strategy beforehand
You need to weave dash in between actions to help with Excalibur slowness. But yeah the dash combo is neato
My main combo was slam in the middle of the room, deal with enemies, but significantly less dashing than if I was using normal sword
you'll have to adapt it later when you get to the actual action, sure, but it's better than going in blind
Had a shower thought about how the last Aspect of the rail should be "Aspect of Man" to symbolise human ingenuity in war + ties into the lore about how the rail should never end up in human hands
I see what you mean but both Arthur and Guan Yu are human already
I for one want Aspect of Glock
I'm still pulling for Aspect of Pavlichenko.
But this also depends on what its mechanics will be.
I want rifle to have 'white death' aspect. the finnish sniper dude
Yep, also excellent!
too bad we already kinda have sniper aspect
Kinda sorta.
I guess we'll see.
The shield is the only one I have legitimately no idea for.
There's some examples from mythology if you a wiki walk, but nothing that leapt out at me.
Surprisingly, I wouldn't support Aspect of Robin Hood for the bow, since we already have an English legend.
Aspect of Rama seems cooler.
And I think that Aspect of Nai Khanomtom would be cool for the fists. He's the legendary founder of Muay Thai, which is also known for those rope hand wraps, and after a match against the best Burmese fighters of the time, the Burmese king praised him as having every part of him blessed with venom.
And since Muay Thai is a lot more toughness-minded, it might suggest an interesting mechanical shift for the fists, going from super-agile speed weapons to being able to just tank damage and dish it out.
High HP or damage reduction wouldn't beat tanking with Divine Strike, honestly.
Fair.
Possibly some ability to interrupt enemies even if they still have armor? Kind of like the Muay Thai teep/push kick?
There's still too much for me to discover with the 3 aspects we have to be thinking of what I would want from a 4th aspect.
Also fair!
each attack makes enemies drop 1 obol?
special makes them drop their lunch, healing item
Fourth Exagryph aspect lets you fortnite dance when you use your special
4th rail aspect replaces your special with sticky bombs
That would actually be really cool, Demeter
They don't have lunch if you keep stealing their lunch money.
It’s alright we’ll pass a give every shade free lunch law through the contractor so we can steal it
Ancient problems require ancient solutions
That's a special kind of evil.
fourth rail aspect should be Aspect of the Doomslayer
add in metal guitar rifts when using it and we got a really hellish experience
achilles telling me to not come back any time soon..
this is
extremely concerning
also how do i get summons?!
You get companions once you max all the hearts you can for certain characters and then give them an ambrosia
They’re kind of a keepsake 2.0
is there any gameplay reason for us not being able to reroll charon rooms out or is it deep lore for charon actually having a higher degree of authority than us?
the codex does mention him perhaps fulfillin a purpose higher than hades' but i've always assumed it was a nod to what he does gameplay-wise
Friends' rooms can't be rerolled either, so I guess it's because their rooms are supposed to be peaceful. If you rerolled them, they would turn into encounters 🤷
@azure forge Summons are tied to your relationship with certain NPCs.
Gift them as you like, and try to do what you can for them.
There is 2 enemies in the game that need to be removed literally bad design
I barely get hit by anything other than those 2
The sword knights in act 3 cost me 2 dd becuse 4 of them stun lock me 2 times in a row
that sounds more like bad luck to me than anything else
everyone struggles with one enemy or another, it's just a matter of figuring their patterns and adapting to it
for me it's the bleedin hotwheels
the cat chariots?
Well i cant really dodge their attack when they keep attacking with the wide sweep that also spawn a projectile
The problem is they spawn in numbers
when hades summon 2 they just become the boss and hades the side creep
I can dodge most of his attack but not their glitchy cheat attacks
I really think act 3 should be redesigned its contradict the core game design
how so? why do you think it contradicts core design?
Honestly I've had more trouble with the shields than the swords. I wonder what the difference in tactics is.
^
shields resist the "spam while screaming bloody hell" tactic, i'm weak if i can't use my masterpiece
they also turn quite fast, lucky tesseus has more moves but takes way longer to turn around
Yeah, theseus likes to stand around more
they just need to give him faster turning to crank theseus difficulty to 11
i wasn't gonna try that anytime soon
And by kinda i mean really
now i'm not gonna try it even more
Do it ye coward
I refuse
the only fun i have fighting tesseus is focusing his feeble ass after killing the main problem
I still hate his guts but i can sympathise with his love for explosions and ammo
You'll get there!
It requires giving him a wider berth and almost requires Hermes mobility boons, but it's very doable.
Yeah
EM3 is one of the most fun EM imo, they’re the ones that feel the most different
Heh, just wait for EM Hades
Oh god
I’m actually both scared and excited about that one
if those 2 got a golden armor and a chariot
hades is gonna get something really hardcore
oh, i just had an idea that made me shudder
EM Hades feels pretty spoopy but i’ll admit he’d be a welcome change
I already know normal hades’ patterns so i’m used to him now
that's the thing
that scares me
that you already know his moveset
so adding more won't probably make it way harder
well
its gonna have a third phase, thats almost 100% sure
but i got a really scary idea
what about Hades exchanging your boons for his? but his would be more like curses
Lmao
That would be fun but probably a bit of a mess
Him being able to nullify your boons would be both amazing and terrifying though
Also if they make it like EM3 then EM Hades ought to be closer to a rework than a couple changes, which i hope is the case
nah, not only nullify them, but give you something that works against you instead XD
that's messed up as hell
em theseus is honestly more fun (to me) than vanilla theseus, but its really got more of that hilarity aspect
the chariot yeeting around the arena is never not funny to me
Terrible idea: EM Hades would be him fourthwalling and berating the player for purposes of psychological warfare.
"Well, you certainly seem to have a lot of time. I wonder what you could do if you put all that energy into something useful for once in your life."
"Oh, was this a gift from your friend? Couldn't buy it yourself?"
...I feel like that would do way more damage than any other possible power-up.
there is only one possible solution to that
and it implies the doomslayer and a shotgun
"What an interesting mod. I suppose you couldn't actually do it with honest effort..."
...Yeah, no, this is definitely a terrible idea in so many ways.
"No lvl 50 heat? peh, pitiful"
Then Hades starts scanning your hard drive for ammo.
And you'll have to switch your controller from one USB port to another.
Hooray!
it's obviously gonna backfire though
there are things hidden in some hard drives
dark things that not even Hades should see
"What a large cache of obscene images. It would be a shame if you did something...unwise right now..."
"Oh, that's not that bad, gonna check a bit more in this folder... wait... wait, what's.... OH ZEUS!"
Next time you see Hades, is rocking covered by a blanket
I just figured he'd threaten to delete the whole lot if you beat him.
Like, that joyless dungpail wouldn't even care what was there, only that you cared about it.
as long as we all don't get a Troyan called Hades after being beaten by EM Hades, we are all good
I'm pretty sure the devs wouldn't throw malware on our comps to simulate Hades throwing a tantrum.
....right?
are you guys okay, do we need to call for an intervention
I'm good, thanks.
@cerulean hamlet the game focus on using dashes and attacks effectively and position yourself in the right engle but you can’t do that in act 3 when the enamy blend in the environment unlike previous acts when enemies are highlighted, secondly the traps are overwhelming and you will eventually get hit so the average player can’t get to a skill lvl where he can end a run without getting hit once
Btw I finished sekiro with 9 hits only
and run with the same problems in hades with dead cells with one of the bosses
But dead cells fucos more on luck and getting overpowered
There is a passive from the chilling dude in act 3 where you get invincible after getting hit i think they should make this a core mechanic in the game
Unless you play godmode your hp bar can’t handle getting stunlocked
there is no invisible mechanic in this game
he only sells defiance stuff, health stuff, and attack damage stuff
patroclus doesn't give any invincibility stuff though
no invincible buff
No his passive that you get from the glass box before starting the run
yeah
not on hell mode though
but if you take a big enough chunk of damage (i don't know how much exactly) you will get a moment of invincibility
No it’s not actually if it was existing you wont be able to get stunlocked
you have to take a large enough amount of damage
Oh i see
someone else might know the mechanic better
i dunno, i think the core design you've mentioned is still very doable in act 3
Thats why the bosses are easy and creeps are overwhelming
but those enemies are definitely more difficult to deal with
but getting stunlocked by a crowd is definitely punishing
you're free to provide that feedback in the channel
I have to sit in-front of the tv and wear my glasses when i get to act 3 thats how bad the visioual design is
that sounds like important feedback, if you have difficulty visualizing certain aspects
Most of the bad stuff is from the floor blooming with light like the way enemies Are highlighted
i know they had multiple revisions of enemy design in elysium for that reason, specifically
I figure this might be the place to ask, since it could potentially spoil story and stuff, how does one unlock the Aspect of Arthur for Stygius? I'm eager to give it a try and am wondering how that's going to happen.
Thank you! Guess it's a frequent question. xD
and that way people like me who frequent this channel but don't want it spoiled for them don't have to worry :P
but...you're in the spoilers section
And to be honest, Greg didn't really spoil much. Just the fourth spear.
tbf sometimes you just need to know a specific spoiler, not the entire thing
but hanging out in spoilers is risky
I do find how discussion channel doesn't allow mentioning of Hades funny though
like, who else would be the final boss but daddy himself
I had it figured out by the time I finished Asphodel. Going up against Cerberus was a bigger surprise to me. And the best way to get around him! Fooooood!
Oh, I know it's risky, and I've definitely had a few things spoiled that I didn't mean to. But I'm aware of that, and there are some thing I really like discussing
Yeah.
Cerberus Vanquished
(His appetite)
I've finished the main story, so I figure I've passed a bulk of what I would not want spoiled. And no one knows what comes after dad.
the devs themselves keep the identity of the boss a secret and only refer to him as final boss in patch notes
doesnt matter how obvious it is, its a spoiler regardless
I do respect the rule and personally have reminded people to censor it. But I can't help but thinking it's funny everytime.
speaking of that final boss, does anyone have any tips?? i feel like i've been banging my head against a wall for weeks now, cus i can get to that fight pretty easy by this point but keep dying at the very end
do you know how to dodge every attack of his?
as in you don't need to be able to dodge everything, just that you know how to
tis a better question for #h1-builds-and-combat qaznot
oh it is? i figured it belonged here because boss spoils >.<
(also worth noting this is the spoilers channel so you can refer to final boss by name)
tru
Thanos is not the brother of zegarus right ?
No he is the villain in the MCU I think
thanatos and zagreus are... half brothers, sorta?(?)
😫
Yeah Than is the son of Nyx
But since Zag in reality is adopted by Nyx
So they are not related.
Thank god
nyx is kind of a mother figure to everyone in general but her direct children are thanatos and hypnos. i think hades retains charon as one of her children too? i dont feel like digging into the dialogue to double check
Nyx did refer to Charon as her children
oh good at least someone remembers
The dialogue goes something like "Charon is the most independent of my children. Don't mistake his quietness for a lack of intelligence."
Or something like that.
i figured since i dont think he has any other parentage in myth but i was about to go get comfortable in bed and didnt want to go dig through my stuff lmao
fair enough.
Hades: "Contracts with me are binding! Unless someone conveniently tears them up!"
good man, that Hades
I approve of honoring and enforcing untorn contracts
I got run over by a chariot the other day.
and it wasn't because of EM3
Chariots are the worst
Its weird
3 of elysium's enemies are annoying to me
but I still dont mind elysium much
comparatively to styx or asphodel
styx is awful. I can get through it fast and some builds just absolutely wreck anything in the small rooms but styx is just awful
yaaaas just got Arthur :D
Nice. Now get his sword, too.
oh my lord
I just killed the hydra in 2 hits per phase
+180% damage on the special, plus 20% crit chance
wait no, +222%
I have 5 Artemis Boons, 2 Chaos Boons, and 2 Hermes Boons going into Elysium
all of the Artemis boons are epic or better
this is gonna be good
jeez
I just took down theseus in less than 30 seconds
okay. so my special does +282% * 2, with a 20% crit chance
about to fight hades :D
- 2?
double nova?
yeah
also woah
i just utterly destroyed hades
took a single hit
didn't even last long enough to fully charge the god gauge
This may've been 0 heat, but I'm super proud of this. Only Artemis, Hermes, and Chaos Boons, new record by over 10 minutes
...And another win? I did over 1500 damage when I crit with the power shot bull rush
This run I was trying to get as many Chaos boons as possible, and it worked out
I have aspect pf chiron with zeus thunder flurish sp but i feel like not all the hits apply thunder ?
I think there's a short internal timer to prevent it applying too quickly, one of the people who've looked more into the game could confirm or refute that.
Yea i think so because 7 thunder strikes can do massive damage but right now my sp damage is close to my doom stack damage wich is 147
I think each arrow can only do 1 strike of thunder
Lightning bolts have a cooldown of 200 msec per target.
That is why a build focusing on damage over time is the best not to mention all the damage boosts it gets
So as far as gods go, we're missing Apollo, Hera, and Hephaestus, yes? Hephaestus seems to overlap a bit with Daedalus, but it also seems intentional - they could have made Daedalus boons Hephaestus boons similar to Hermes. Hera might be thematically inappropriate. But Apollo seems like a very, very intentional oversight.
ѕнσυкαι, we need you here
come on, people down here don't even know what time of day (or night) it is now
and living mortals don't really see the sun much because of blizzards
not only we miss Apollo
if he is still somehow related to Helios that is
Iirc there are no further plans to add moar gods
sorry, a bit of a dumb question. When you beat hades and it takes you to the screen that you can select the boons you had, What does that do? does it just display them or something?
yeah i think so, so you can screenshot and post it somewhere
You select what you think were the stars of the run
Cool, thank you very much. That's a good feature.
It's sort of a MVPs screen. Pick the top 5 which helped you the most to show your build, or the ones you've had the most fun with
Is that the actual intended use?
I find it funny that SSG accommodates "bragging rights."
There's plans to add one more character, yes? Maybe not a god?
I'd buy an expansion for any SuperGiant game, but definitely for Hades.
I find it funny that SSG accommodates "bragging rights."
@clear oracle I wouldn't say that was their intention. I think the intention was so people could share around builds so others could try them out. At least, that's my intent when sharing victory screens
