zeus is a lot more complicated because of all the demeter dialogue you need

thanatos is missing stuff but in total he'd be about 450 lines of dialogue. though a lot of those are 1-4 words. hypnos generally says a lot more and has just under 110 lines last i added on him, and ares is in the middle, some some lines are longer and others are short voice overs, and hes just under 120. i have zero idea on the word scale but combined i'd say those three are a few thousand easy
could not give anywhere close to a definitive answer though
unless i physically went and counted

I've heard strange noises when walking into Zag's bedroom the last couple of times. First it was high-pitched laughter and then a kind of whiny moan. I've looked around everywhere, but can't find anything out of the ordinary. :-/

hypnos and achilles would make most sense, esp since they came from nyx so like why would than and meg get one but not hypnos? but it doesn't seem like sgg ever intended hypnos to be that close with you and that's a shame. but achilles is an obvious choice bc he trained zag and has generally always been close with him

Well I meant that's why achilles is more likely than hypnos, because the thing most appropriate for hypnos would be harder to implement. we have stuff that slows enemies down but nothing that outright stops them
hypnos would have to get some pretty significant story stuff to make me thing he'll be the last companion. and trust me there's no one I want it to go to more than him but he's frankly been shafted in content this far so I'm not holding my breath. given the hint the last update gave about zag wanting to help achilles and patroclus, achilles feels like a more likely choice

And I'm not dying fast enough to get through her. The Nyx line sounds too closely like the first one I got, so if it's a variation of the earlier line, it doesn't sound like it.

The one I recently got from Nyx, who I was trying to get to speak on the Dusa crying in the corner, just randomly retells me that she's keeping her distance away from Hypnos so that he isn't dependent on her and that he'd finish his education in the next age. I swear I already got that line several runs back.

That's the line that was added this past update. She had a line from prior to that where she tells zag that he's seen much of hypnos, and more or less says she hopes they're getting along, but in nyx talk. You probably encountered that line a long time ago, I don't think it repeats
Those are the only times nyx mentions hypnos, to my knowledge

Pretty much. Since I'm being told some things have prerequisites, i.e. I need to hold the Twin Fists and get a Demeter-Zeus duo boon to unlock Zeus' hearts apparently.
Compared to Hypnos' new dialogue comes from me dying from every enemy or boss currently in the game and doing 100 runs

I mean if you want to be technical nearly every piece of dialogue in the game has prerequisite conditions, you're just not going to notice it while you're playing
zeus heart is just harder to unlock than artemis and aprodite because of the nature of the dialogue you need. you're going to get close with meg/than/dusa eventually to get their companions, so you're probably not going to notice those are needed for aphrodite. arty is the simplest, just get her callisto dialogue, but even those are locked to different levels of arty's affection. zeus is inherently more complicated because his involves his relationship with demeter
there's two? duo dialogue for zeus and demeter, one where they're petty towards one another and one where zeus is sucking up to her, you need the one he's sucking up to her. the one they're insulting one another won't count

I didn't notice the one for Aphrodite because I made sure to max out Than, Meg, and Dusa before the update, so I didn't even know Aphrodite's clocked heart turned into a locked heart. But yeah, that was easier.
Y'know, outta boredom, I might just max out the heat in runs until I get all the dialogue out of Hypnos for now and maybe just attempt getting the duo boon Zeus-Demeter later down the line, assuming Tartarus gives me Demeter and Zeus in a run because I only have 7 of those alter things.
Semi-related, I've noticed that every time I change the key reward for the next room, it almost always turns into gems.

Are there any permanently-missable interactions in the game? I have Orpheus and Eurydice with locked hearts, and I understand there's a Nyx line that's required next, but I haven't gotten it yet.

i dont think so, since many interactions are linked with one another
i mean other than getting death messages from hypnos
since you have to die to every enemy and hazard in the game (and count on hypnos being at his post)
but as far as 'once you miss it it wont ever happen again' i dont think that exists within the game
if you're missing necessary dialogue with nyx either you're hung up on other narrative taking priority and need to just keep talking to her until you cycle to the necessary dialogue, or you're still missing a text trigger somewhere

There's a few things they change, but you can see it especially plainly when you look into Zag.
There doesn't seem to be much information on Zagreus out-of-universe. Most of it has to do with Orphic Dionysus because they were mentioned side by side somehow, or he is the son of Zeus (Another little tidbit Supergiant used, which I love), or some kind of "other name" or "personality" somehow of Hades.
On Wikipedia, if there's not much information on something that's basically told as a name mentioned offhandedly, I doubt there's going to be many sources that will talk about Zagreus primarily.

also for aphrodite it seems u need all 3 romances to have been unlocked i assume and done

@unkempt locust focus on demeter. zeus affection is linked with his relationship with demeter. you will also need the specific duo convo that zeus initiates and demeter accuses him of speaking well of her only when she's within earshot. the duo convo that demeter initiates where they are petty with one another will not count.
artemis is done through listening to her dialogue about callisto (which is about 7 different texts iirc), aphrodite requires dusa and meg and/or than. you dont necessarily need all three, just dusa and at minimum one of the two romancable options
the static discharge boon comment above is actually prob related to getting the correct dialogue lmao, i just saw that
but yeah above all if you're stuck, focus on demeter. she has a lot of stuff to say about losing her daughter, the surface, and zeus thats necessary

i dont remember the required minimum level you need on their affection but i'd assume you're gonna max them anyway. but as i just mentioned you need dusa and meg/than. doesnt have to be both but if you wanna do all three knock yourself out
theres a specific line aphrodite has when she notes that youve formed multiple deep bonds, i dont think there was any requirement outside that beyond the typical rng
i consider artemis the most straightforward to do, if you're already maxing out character bonds aphrodite is pretty straightforward as well, zeus is the only complicated one bc its not immediately noticeable that you need to get to know demeter pretty well to finish his out
artemis has no other requirements beyond level her affection and listen to her talk about callisto
