I think a major theme of Hades is Zag trying to find his independence. The god's are all offering him help, but the majority (if not all) are trying to make Zag dependent on them. Those that aren't doing so as intentionally as the others will still get extremely offended when they realize that Zag has lied to them about who he is and his motives for escape.

The other big theme of this narrative is family, and by proxy divided familial expectations. I think the gods would be incredibly upset to learn that Zag doesn't actually hate his home, and that he's willing to return to see them. He doesn't want to denounce his relationship with anyone (except maybe a few), and this journey has actively strained his relationships with the people he cares about. In my eyes, he just wants the freedom to go where he pleases, and for others to see him as someone capable of making his own choices.

Which, is also why I like Sisyphus the most. He's one of the only ones who seems uncaring and overtly supportive of Zag's quest. Most of the other characters in Hades (besides Achilles and possibly Dusa) express disappointment, anger, or doubt in Zag's decisions. Sisyphus is just there to give you a gift to help you along on your journey. Of course, we can't ignore source material. Sisyphus could just be massively manipulating Zag in a 'I scratch your back you scratch mine' kind of way, and I will actively scream NO the day that's realized.

I don't feel the same way. I think he's had a lot of time to think about his choices in life, and that time has kind of eased a lot of his earlier, selfish, in the moment desires. He's had a lot of time to reflect, but I don't like thinking of Sisyphus as an inherently different person than the one he was when he was alive. His actions back then have helped shape who he is now. Or maybe I'm just not big on the concept that this place has somehow 'killed' or made him forget his old personality.

I don't think there is an intended 'end', and I don't think an in-universe rehabilitation was ever thought of. I just think this is Supergiant's take on how an awful person can take the time to reflect on their past deeds and turn out to be an okay guy.

i think nyx is listed under the chthonic gods in the codex (dont have game open to check) so achilles at least considers her one

and in the original myth shes a primordial god I believe, so while shes not part of the pantheon it'd be weird to only consider her kids half-gods, at least not in a half-mortal sense
