the olympians have been calling him a demigod or a half-god for a while, even though they think his mother is Nyx, which made me think like "ah, they just think Nyx isn't a 'real' god since she's technically a Titan"

Zag is following what he believes is best for him. And as a result, everyone seems to interpret his choice from their own perspectives. Whether Zag intended to hurt people or not, he has. But in the end, I as a player feel justified in following Zag's journey through.

Zag learns thing and is killed, sent back to hell to try over and over again to do the thing, his context for leaving now changed, without changing how Hades acts or the Gods support him.
"You never could have done it without my help, Zagreus. I've been training you! This whole time! To do what I never could. This is your true purpose, I see it now! Not just leave this place, etc etc."
I can see it, but I personally prefer that Hades remain a problem and a villain for Zag. I'd hate for the game to try and recontextualize Hades as someone trying to 'help', because honestly, it doesn't fit with what I'd prefer a lot more; Zag having chosen his own path in life. If it wasn't inherently Zag's path to take, I'd feel really miffed, as I imagine Zag would as well.

I had a discussion in a private channel with some of our moderators about Thanatos and last night's conversation in #h1-story-discussion about him, and maybe I should have just posted it there for the benefit or context of anyone who felt something about it. To that extent, while I'm writing this response specifically to you, please feel free to share it with other folks in #h1-story-discussion if you would like to, especially if you feel it might help alleviate concern -- or warrant further criticism.
To get to the point! The specific interaction with Achilles you mention was not intended to have the effect it had on you. It was not meant to frame the relationship as brotherly and platonic, or 'brother-zone' the relationship (to use your great term), or anything of the sort.
I don't like to speak to my intentions as a writer because I happen to find it crass, plus it takes my time away from the writing itself, and (most frighteningly) it suggests deep flaws in the work output if the writer is required to explain. The work should stand alone, and the characters have a life of their own. But in this case, I do want to be clear that, for what it's worth, the intent of this scene was the 180-degree opposite of how you took it. Rather than 'brother-zone' Thanatos, the purpose of this scene was to make clear that these characters are now free to explore new dimensions of their relationship -- while reinforcing that their relationship, like many of Zag's relationships, is complicated. I get the criticism about the double standard between Zag's backstory with Meg and Zag's backstory with Than, and don't really want to get into that. But somewhat briefly: Meg is ambiguously related to Nyx and in my mind (and in the game) is not clearly and definitely her child like Thanatos and Hypnos are definitely her sons. With our backstory suggesting that Nyx was believed to be Zag's mother, it seemed important to establish that Zag and Than are not related by blood; hence suggesting the door may be open for a relationship that isn't fraternal in nature.
It's a unique experience for me to be working on a story as it unfolds and sharing the interstitial progress in the form of new characters and scenes. It gives me the chance to hear this type of feedback and critique while the work is in progress, and, as with the rest of the feedback we're getting across all dimensions of the game, I'm hopeful it will lead us to a better game at the end of it all. So by all means please keep us in check. The rest of the game and the story is unwritten (though outlined!); we're moving fast, and we have many challenges ahead as a team. The best I can say for it for now is that I will always do everything I can to be true to the characters I'm responsible for writing, which means finding the space for them to express themselves, and doing what I can to let their relationships go where they need to go in the context of our games. The q is interesting I like it. But for a the gun itās like you have to reload and it hits for the same amount of the bow ..only 20 damage
Where as for the bow you can get up to 70

I am exceedingly impressed by how the Supergiant team has found a way to craft the ultimate Early Access experience, but I can't shake the feeling that it won't hold up once the game is properly released.
We've spent several weeks fighting Meg, being told that Thanatos was away on a business trip, and using the same boons; now Hades sics the rest of the Furies on us, Thanatos comes home, and the Gods reveal to us that they had been withholding the greatest of their gifts until we had proven ourselves worthy. It's such an organic process, and such a rewarding one for that very reason.
How can this same experience be recreated for players who will get their hands on the final product all at once? Will Thanatos, Alecto, Tisiphone, Wrath powers and more only be unlocked after the player has gone through a fixed number of runs? How does this account for people who are simply very good at video games and will potentially break out of the Underworld on their first run?
Does anybody have any word from the developers on this matter?
