Hades is almost entirely the source of Zag's conflict in this game. I'm okay with the concept of him being an awful person, mostly due to the tone of the entire game being on the lighter side. His line delivery is harsh, uncaring, bitter. The dialogue even moreso... but I wouldn't be surprised if Hades had some sort of hidden motive. HOWEVER! Even if he did, even if he was helping Zag, the terrible way he goes about it STILL doesn't justify him as a 'good' person.
I DO appreciate the level of comprehension these characters seem to have. This game really does capture a large variety of 'family' aspects in an awesome and realistic way!
Plus the fighting, backhanded gossiping, and doting with the other gods also captures this 'my, you're awfully nice to me now' vibe.

I love how.... the dialogue seems so grounded in actual conversation! With the gods, they aren't sporting exposition as soon as they touch down with you all the time. They're holding conversations that feel real, and simultaneously letting us see so much into their own goals/perspectives/projections.
I hope I never forget how surprised and happy I was when first playing this game, and getting to hear Zag mentally prepare himself before meeting each of the gods for the first time.
The nervousness! The sheepishness! The caution! It was nice sharing those moments of awkward first introductions.

Anyone else has thought about how much Ocean's bounty (poseidon rewards increase) will become an issue as the new floors will be added ? With only tartarus and asphodel, an early OB can easily give you 300-400 max health (max health increase + gold increase to buy every centaur heart you come across), up to the point that one can litterally tank hydra with absolutely no need to kite, did it several times at 40-60 heat (most fun is with sword's world splitter daedalus upgrade and artemis crit, cutting hydra heads in half feels so good). If I project that with two whole new floors, this will clearly be the most overpowered boon one can get, especially with lucky fated authority rerolls into hearts.

Considering how inconsistenr Poseidon is to use right now, its good that his passive boon is powerful enough to warrant picking his rooms at all

Inconsistent ? It combines well with every weapon (except the rail, I must admit, but Zeus outshines everything with the rail anyway) and build, it provides great attack buffs across the board, is borderline overpowered in Tartarus with the knockback and slam damage, does decently-ish in Asphodel, is disturbingly good in the river crossing room (which is the hardest room in the game right now, very RNG dependent and spawns a massive amount of invulnerable enemies in so little space, can go haywire so fast and kill a run instanly), and on top of that is, at least for me, the best god past 120 heat because knockback and putting distance between you and your foes to anticipate what's coming for you is necessary, since no build can be bursty enough as of now, at least from what I've tried. So in my humble opinion, he is without any doubt the best god, only surpassed by a very few and very specific combinations of god/weapon/hammer that requires some luck to be able to assemble all the parts you need for it to work.

i realized that i can dash into my thrust attack with the sword. swing the first two, dash, and instead of dash attack i get the thrust attack, which works well with the thrust critical upgrade from the hammer
i tested it out to be sure, and yes, it procks that hammer upgrade so long as you swing twice before hand

ive been playing around with how dashes affect each weapon
the shield is the most fun as it lets you zip and push people around with the charge by dashing while in it

Another issue with multiple hammers, is that I believe a hammer upgrade essentially gives you a new weapon. So unless they change something on the backend, to have multiple hammer upgrades would mean going from 10 weapon variants (1 base and 9 hammers) to 55 (1 base, 9 single hammer, and 45 multi hammer variants.) [1/2n x (n+1) where n = 9]
And that is for each weapon, which if we just assume by the spaces in Skelly's room for them, would leave us with 330 weapons coded in the game.
This is also assuming that they don't go past 9 Daedalus upgrades per weapon, which they very well may.
Now if they changed the coding to be like other boons, and add traits to your weapon, it could be feasible. So if we take Flurry Blade + World Splitter as an example, lets just assume that you lose your 3rd swing, and your weapon attack delay is reduced by X amount. Then you could either have it end up as a 4x damage Flurry Blade, or just a really fast World Splitter.

It'll be interesting to see how this game plays out with more floors. Right now, my builds feel relatively complete by the time hydra rolls around. An ares cast build feels complete with good rng. So how will the game be tuned with more floors?
I'd love to see a hammer style upgrade for something not related to weapons, like your dash or cast. There's room for synergy between three relatively non-competing hammer style upgrades, right?

Olympian gods treat Zag like a child because they are children themselves. Look at them, they're toying with mortals, they get displeased if they don't get what they want, they would do anything to get to hades even tricking his son into fighting him, they seem to seek laughs and fun all the time. Jealousy everywhere and everytime, would do anything to show off and demonstrate their already acknowledged authority. Nowhere near the elder wisdom they're supposed to carry and transmit to others. Nowhere near the moral guidance they are supposed to bring. Children.
On the contrary, Hades is on the opposite side of the spectrum : strong, strong parenting, education through multiple deaths, kinda harsh.

I've finally beaten the Hydra enough times to fill its Codex entry. Nice to get an official confirmation of what the next area has in store for us, expected as it was. That ought to add quite a bit of lore to the story, especially considering that it's sort of implied to be where Achilles spent much of his afterlife prior to being contacted by Hades.

I feel that needs to be clarified: the reason I made that "sticking point" remark was that I thought your aggressiveness in stating that "Zag and Hypnos are brothers" was a rebuttal of my own previous comment about them no longer being recognised as siblings.
I'm sure there are people in this fandom (and others) who DO get genuinely aggressive about such things as "Don't say that they're not brothers! @fast idol : There's no telling which gods are planned for inclusion and which aren't. So far the roadmap states that there are "at least eight" Olympians planned (seven are already in the game).
Obviously I'd like all twelve Olympians to make an appearance, but here's the thing: traditionally, the pantheon includes either Hestia OR Dionysus, pretty much never both at the same time. Since Dionysus is part of the Olympian pantheon in the game and Hestia is all but confirmed to be as well (regardless of whether she becomes an active boon-giver or not), there must be something else at play.
If I were writing the game I'd probably include them both and leave Demeter out instead, with the other gods commenting on the fact that she left after what happened to Persephone, or something.
