from my experience translating Latin texts and comparing old translations to the actual text, a lot of ppl tended to censor non-straight relationships so the english canon didnt include any same sex couples

and unfortunately we still use that canon and mythology books written in the 1960s because Latin doesnt change, so why should schools buy new textbooks?

Translators have a lot of wiggle room to change the subtle meanings of words and sentences and may have an agenda that you don't know about.

I think whats important is to know how to read between the lines and find common cover-ups for gay relationships used by the translators, and knowing the context of the story before going into the text. like if you read the Iliad knowing ahead of time that the translator is going to call patroklos "achilles' dear friend" instead of "achilles' lover" you aren't going to miss anything.

Only beat him with shield once, but, my main advice in general is to keep calm. Spamming dash is actually more dangerous it feels like. Depending on your loadout, you can keep some distance using the special to do good damage to the multi-phase heads, but I usually just get up close and smack them until they use their attacks, then dash to another one until it uses it's attack, then rinse and repeat.

I haven't beaten the Hydra yet, but there are some good bankshot angles with the shield special on the right hand side to hit the main Hydra head. It will also usually backstab. I usually go ham upgrading the special for the larger fights, so it's sometimes more powerful than my standard attack.

from where we stand currently I wouldn't think so, since there isn't much we can directly do to alter a ton of things right now

but if there ends up being decisions that we can make later that change things up a good bit then maybe!

thats a good point, but i also dont think there has to be a lot of overarching decisions to have different endings. like in hollow knight, theres three different endings just based on if you bring a certain item into the boss battle. one big thing that I think could affect the ending is whether you have Hades at full hearts or not. I also wonder if the motives of the Olympian gods are as straightforward as they seem

thats true, after all Bastion didn't have all too much you could do during the game to alter it and the ending was still ultimately a choice at the end

i think i went into it kinda naive and then i ran into my first trial of the god and realized i could lose favor from a god just because of one binary choice. Obviously random rooms wont have big plot importance, but being smacked in the face by the fact that the olympians' help is NOT unconditional was A Lot (tm)

i dont use the spear often so idk much about its upgrades, but the shield has it pretty bad with hammer upgrades.

like the one that only makes the special bounce once is just a giant nerf
