yeah, I think his time being, well, dead, has let him view the gods in a more objective light, and has begun to see them as flawed and sometimes even possibly corrupt

yeah Achilles seems to quite like hades? he talks about wanting him to reconnect with his siblings and family on Olympus which makes me wonder

along with dusa mentioning hades hired her when no one else would, CLEARLY hades has done something to earn the loyalty, if not affection, of his employees

historically, it was around that time that Greece as a whole sank into a period of turmoil that brought about the end of the mycenaean civilization...things didn't, like, stop happening but we don't have records of them until city-states popped up a couple centuries later and brought new stories with them

get an upgrade which allows you to deal with groups - zeus or poseidon likely - and then get some good damage so you can kill the heads quickly. Then, focus down on killing the heads one by one from the edge of the screen so you free up space to move

artemis cast is great

but yeah thats more tactics and gameplay 😛

general tip for the fight, when the main head shoots the pink projectiles, hug the middle of either one of the walls and they’ll circle around you letting you wait out the attack without taking damage

But Hades hoarded them.

The bow was Hera.

The shield belonged to Athena.

I beleive one or two are relics from the war with the Titans.

Pretty sure Hades used the spear to kill giants.

I think Ares is a rather strong pick for your basic attack, nearing the final boss i had nearly 200 bleed effect per strike

makes killing most things rather easy

Crits do over 200 easily even early on

I can imagine their being.... a bunch of variant endings. In my eyes, reaching the top and fighting one of the gods that you've found favor from, only to be cast back down. Something rewarding from a gameplay perspective and enlightening to characters, but Zag still gets tossed back down (maybe even by his own choosing, marking a key shift in tone) But I'd also like there be that kind of... 'true ending' experience; an ending that requires full hearts with every major character, that offers an actual ending.
Of course my vision is so bloated in scope it's probably not what they're designing! But I think a 'true ending' would fit nicely, since the game is a linear narrative, unlike Isaac.

A roguelite let's you take something back from each run. It's progression, but a different type than most are used to. Rogue games only let you bring back knowledge. Roguelite let's you bring back things like currency, boons, perks.

A run is one stretch in that journey. McBossly is proposing that a Full run, going all the way through the game, might not be indicative of the entire scope of the game. There could be more to what defines that playthrough.

I agree with all of that, but let me put this in a different perspective and couple it with the fact, that in mythology Zag is the son of Zeus and Persephone.

Zag could find out about the lies and his distrust towards the olympians grows.
Hes surrounded by liers, nobody is honest towards him. He has no real allies, only enemies.
After beating Cerberus, you are confronted with two options.
Fight your way up the olympus and confront the gods that aided or lied to you.
OR
Fight your way down back to Hades and confront him.
Zag would do both and the game just allows you to choose one path, replaying would allow you to choose again and you repeat this until you unlocked all the lore hidden from you.

I dont think this way is too big of a stretch, it fits a roguelike and adds tons of replayability.
