agamemnon captured a trojan woman named chryseis and wanted to keep her as a slave
but her father was a priest of apollo
so apollo got pissed and sent a plague upon the greeks
it was determined that chryseis needed to be returned so the plague would end and agamemnon agreed but on the condition that he get another pretty slave girl
he decided he wanted achilles' slave girl Briseis who had also been captured during battle
because agamemnon and achilles had a bit of ill will between them, you know. as warriors do.

the trojans lead an assault that pushes the greeks all the way back to their ships and patroclus is like "babe. babe please we've got to do something or everyone's gonna die" and achilles relents but still refuses to fight, so patroclus puts on his armor and goes out to fight and hopefully at least put the fear of the gods in a few hundred trojans
he does manage to rally the greeks enough to push the trojans back but he's killed in the process
and the rest is history
Zeus himself takes note of Achilles' rage and sends the gods to restrain him so that he will not go on to sack Troy itself before the time allotted for its destruction, seeming to show that the unhindered rage of Achilles can defy fate itself
it's not hard to imagine how a much much older, wiser, deader achilles would see the ridiculously immature pissing contests over loot and battle prizes for what they were, and would be ashamed of them
all the moreso because they led directly to the death of his lifelong partner
and as a result he's most resentful of Ares, out of all the gods, and most fearful of Aphrodite

Well, Patroclus disobeyed his orders to just push the Trojans back from the beachhead and instead pursued them all the way to the gates of Troy where he was sabotaged by Apollo (who "took away his wits") and eventually killed by Hector. That in turn put Achilles in a mix or despair and murderous rage. Good times, good times....

So, people working on the wiki; there are 2 random numbers that affect a number of Rare / Epic quality values. Effectively, they're subjected to the same random values of a Common one, but get multiplied by another random number that depends on the tier.
e.g., Slicing shots does 5–9 damage. Rare quality multiplies this by 1.3–1.5, and Epic multiplies it by 2–2.5. Should I just add the second factor in the rare/epic sections? Just putting the absolute min/max possible would be pretty misleading, I would think.
Also, those other values are almost always 1.3–1.5 and 2.0–2.5. Only a few exceptions (mostly Artemis boons).

I read an interesting take on Sisyphus punishment a while ago. It argues that the punishment for his hybris was also a secret test. If he somehow managed to actually roll the boulder over the hill the gods would accept that he truely managed to do something "god-like" (a bit like how Heracles had to prove his worth).
There was also a solution proposed: Every time he reaches the top and the boulder rolls back down, Sisyphus should break off a bit of the hill and take it back down. Eventually there would be no hill left from which the boulder could roll back down from.
Punished for outsmarting a god, "solves" the punishment by outsmarting the god again ^^

It's quite a common plot device to have the protagonist accidentally unleash a great evil while pursuing his own unrelated goal.
Take "Secret of Mana" for example: Boy falls down a waterfall and needs something to cut through the vegetation trapping him. Finds a sword and thinks "that'll do", pulls it out of it's socket and boom apocalyse incoming.
I wouldn't be surprised if Zag finds a way to escape the underworld by destroying something (a mystical gate/lock/chain/crystal/whatever) not realising that this is also what keeps the titans locked away.
Then he would have a reason to make his way back down (and even further) to help seal them away again.

It's hard to tell how much "hate" there is between Hades and his brothers. While Zeus certainly mentiones that Hades has become estranged, it sounded almost a bit regretful, like "He never answers the phone..."
And in mythology I think it was actually Zeus who set up Hades with Persephone in the first place
