Hello, I have a question. I recently finish the game and now I m starting with the punishment pact and realize that with my bow it doesn't give me more rewards even if I add more heat

You need to beat the final boss on 0 heat first (or any heat, really). With Bow in this case.

AFAIK, it shouldn't refresh rewards when changing the heat at all. You should beat the final boss first, then you can gain those awards on higher heats. So what's happening with Spear is not how it's supposed to be. Could you please try verifying the game's files and if that doesn't work, report it in-game with F10?

the bounties will only show for your lowest uncompleted heat, and since you didnt complete heat 1, its still at that and not at 51

I think the behavior is not normal. It only happens with the bow.
I only beat the game with the shield, and the bow is the only one that show that way. Every other weapon works as the spear that I shown before

you need to beat the game in order to get more rewards, thats how the system works the reason the rewards "refreshed" initially when you added more heat is because heat 0 is separate from the rest of the heats in terms of rewards.

Hi, I was playing the other day on my nintendo switch and for any reason clicked on the Home button, in order to quickly stop the game, when I returned to the game it didn't automatically pause (like other nintendo switch games). Did some testing and the same happened with the power button. Can you guys please add that functionality? To pause the game when a user presses either the home or the power button. Thanks! The pause menu do not open when the user presses the home/power button. Other nintendo switch games have that functionality so when you resume your gameplay instead of being in the middle of the fight, you have the menu button open and can resume the game when you are ready. I think it would be a very appreciated addition to the game. Not sure if it is already in the Devs backlog.

Hi Team!

I have the game on Steam, and been playing for about 40 hours total so far. Over the past 10-15 hours of gameplay, I've had issues where I'll exit the game after I complete a chamber, and then when I attempt to re-enter the game, I'll reappear several chambers before the chamber where I stopped. On my most recent play, I managed to start from the House of Hades and make it all the way through Asphodel, but when I quit and restarted, it put me back into the House of Hades again.

I did what you recommended in the #h1-tech-fixes channel regarding the renaming of the save file to the most recent temp one, and that seemed to work to get some of my progress back, but not everything.

I just need to know if this is a known issue, or if it's just something with my account, because it almost seems to be getting worse (more distance between the chamber I quit and the chamber I restart in) and I'm not sure that the file-name-change trick is something I feel like I should have to do every time.

hello all, i double checked the FAQs and did a quick search and saw no suggestions page or any other questions about it, but i have been playing a lot on my switch where the right button on the controller is the confirm button. I just got it on steam, and steam has the bottom button of the controller as the confirm button. Is there any way to change this, and if not, can we possibly get an option to swap them?

If you use Steam's Big Picture Mode, there will be an option in the settings to use the Switch Button layout. There's currently a bug in-game where the button prompts will not match up, but it should fix the A/B issue

Not with Steam, no. If you don't care about having access to Steam's features (such as cloud saves or achievements) you can create a desktop shortcut of the Vulkan exe.

Can I bring an issue w/ the game's SteamAPI integration to the attention of developers? You are running a loop that issues SteamAPI_RunCallbacks (...) at absolutely ludicrous rates, it's causing a flood of context switches and creating a ton of unnecessary CPU overhead. Callbacks should be limited to framerate ideally, even when there's no work to be done, the act of running the callbacks does some IPC between the Steam client and the game.

I am having problems with the game running poorly. I read through the entire #h1-tech-fixes page, and I tried every fix on the sub-section dedicated to this problem. My PC could run this game just fine before, could it have been a patch or something? I just re-downloaded it after a few months, and it just doesn't run very well at all. Any help anyone can give me is much appreciated! 🙂 (btw I have a ryzen 5 2600, rtx 2060, and 16gb 3200mhz ram.)

I have a problem with my saves, my hard drive turned off so my save file became broken, even if I use oldest backup I have it still shows me the same unplayable save slot with blank "LAST PLAYED:". What should I do?

2. Delete Profile1_temp.sav
3. Make sure Profile1.sav is your most recent .sav file
4. Open the "play" menu in-game

That should fix it, ideally

1. Start up the game (this needs to be done first, or Steam/Epic Cloud will interfere)
2. Delete Profile1_temp.sav
3. Open the "Play" menu
4. If your save is still corrupt, delete Profile1.sav, then rename Profile1_old.sav to Profile1.sav
5. Close and reopen the "Play" menu

I'm having problems with the Hades PC version, bought thru the epic game store.

The game does not recognize the PS5 controller, and it seems like its the only game to not do so.

I tested my controller in other games, including Bastion (even tho i bought it on steam, not epic), and it seems to work fine.

Start up the Switch save, then select "sync and quit" in-game.
Then start up the game on the PC, and see if it gives you the option to choose cloud (from the switch) or local (on the PC)
Select the PC save, then save and quit and close the game
Then restart the switch and see if it shows up there

hey, i play on a 2016 macbook (running High Sierra 10.13.6) and i get fairly frequent, totally random-seeming crashes where the game completely quits. sometimes it maintains the run i'm on when i open it back up, sometimes it's back to before the run in the house of hades. i had three of them in the last several hours of playing. it's been going on pretty much since i downloaded the game (i have somewhere over 100 hours lol) but i feel like it's been getting worse lately. it'll happen in any area, after any amount of playing, both during combat and after combat is finished.

Hey, so I’m having an issue with my save on Steam. It says the save file was corrupted, and gave me instructions to follow, but those instructions didn’t work for me:
-it said go to “Documents/Saved Games/Hades”, which doesn’t exist.
-It said backup the game, but when I tried it was permanently stuck at “0 / 0 mb” of progress.
-It said to rename the save files accordingly(profile1.sav.bak to profile1.sav, etc), but no such files exist, even in the steam local files.

Currently reinstalling the entire game and hoping that helps, but part of me thinks that uninstalling it destroyed my save file forever.

Considering “Documents/Saved Games/Hades” didn’t exist, I’m assuming this is leftover from a time where saves were client side, correct?

Hi! I'm having an issue with cross-saves between Switch & Steam. It says "Sync Failed. Please check connection." on the Switch when I click play. My connection is fine. Game is updated to the newest version on both Switch & Steam. I did notice that the versions are different. Switch is v1.37136 & Steam is v1.37133. Is this causing the issue? If so, how can I fix it? Different versions are not the issue. Check your time zone on Switch - if it's different than Steam (PC) you need to make sure they're the same. Also, you can try connecting via hotspot on your phone, as sometimes this helps.

Hello, please help me define root of black screen.
During the game, a black screen appears with a bzzz sound (monitors contain messages about attempts to switch input ports and check the connection). The coolers are working, PC backlight is on, the backlight on the video card starts blinking (it may be trying to determine whether it is connected or not, I'm not sure). The Dram LED switching to yellow. This state can only be exited by pressing the reset key. In other applications and games, there is no such problem (After Effect, Photoshop, Blender, Cyberpunk 2077, etc. everything is fine).

Okay! Cool! Well, today I finished a 16 heat run (hooray!) and went down to the armoury to check out the new ||statue || I unlocked. Unlocked it, talked to ||Skelly || about it and then went to the menu, sync'd and quit the game, as I always do. I play on PC, and I never ever alt F4 to get out the game. I always get out of the game properly. So I boot up the game again, later on in the day, and the game has put me back in the blood pool and I had to redo that interaction. It's not a game breaking bug, and it's nothing that's hindering my enjoyment, it's just a little... odd and I wondered if anyone has had this experience.

I don't think it's something on the game's end, because from what I've seen the save system is pretty simple and functional, though it's certainly possible it messed up. If something like that happens again, it might be worth looking into whitelisting Hades through Windows' built-in security features

Yes for back and forth. For achievements, any one-time/narrative achievements will unlock automatically when you start on the PC. Other achievements (things you could reasonably do in a single run) will need to be unlocked while playing on PC

Im one of the people that was also having this issue when we discussed it the other day, and i just wanted to say that after i beat hades twice in a row with god mode turned off, ive suddenly been given the option to gift him nectar! Ive made no other changes to my typical play besides turning off god mode just to experiment, and i havent gotten any other narrative-related dialogue as far as i can tell. I died mid-run once before my last two-win streak (I can take screenshots if necessary)

I just thought my experience might help since somehow that seems to have fixed the problem for now! I would update the email i sent as well but i dont have a reference number yet ^-^;;

I'm trying to run the game on my Linux-Fedora 33 laptop (meaning I'm using Proton). Previously the game worked perfectly fine as of October last year, but when I attempted to start it up recently, the game refuses to even open a window and start up upon me selecting a launch option. Hey y'all! I'm having an issue with cross-saving from Switch to Steam. I tried syncing my switch save to Steam, but originally get the two to work. However, it must've gone through because now I no longer have my switch save profile at all, which is where all of the progress I had made was. I tried disconnecting my Steam from my switch, but I cannot seem to get my original switch save back. Any advice?

If it helps at all, the version of Hades that I have is on PC. It's from a friend's library, but we have the family sharing thing set up to where I can also play it.

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to recover saves from the Switch, because we can't access the files. However, the devs have put together some pre-made saves to help people who've lost their progress, so I can help you with getting that.

In terms of Family Sharing, it should still work as far as I know, though I also recommend using different save slots as a precaution.

So I sent an email already but I was doing some digging myself & I noticed that if I open up Hades on Steam, delete everything in my Saved Games > Hades folder, & close the game. It will then sync with my Switch. As soon as I open my Steam version again, it stops syncing. Could this be due to Steam overwriting or something set to read-only? Any help would be appreciated. Just wanna be able to utilize cross-play.

tl;dr: was fighting lernie, killed a head and then suddenly stopped being able to do anything with my keyboard (no movement, special, call) but i could still use my mouse. i basically i had to push myself into the lava using the knockback from casting to kill myself

Hey, so... I got Hades on switch recently for the cross saves, and I was playing it during an airplane flight

is there anything I need to worry about in regards to making sure that progress gets logged correctly?

My switch is still on airplane mode, I haven't turned that off yet

When you start back up, make sure to "sync and quit" from the Switch before playing on the PC. When you load up on the PC, it should automatically load the updated Switch save. If it doesn't, remember that "Local" is the device you're currently using, and "Cloud" is your other device

hey everyone, i have recently come into trouble trying to get the Bad Call achievement, even after using aphrodites greater call on a trial where i rejected her boon, the voice line played and all, but it didnt give me the achievement. Also, pressing f10 in game just tries to open a tab in firefox while giving me a blackscreen in game. Took a while to close, even

and as i just found out, also resulted in a loss even though i had just cleared said trial and was about to pick a next room

Hi, for some reason my stats on infernal weapons disappeared. The 4 other tabs on the right (boons stats etc) remain normal as well as the minimum heat before start a run fre each weapon.
The only thing I did differently was to activate God Mod for the first time after 80 runs. I believe this is not the problem but just to quote

Switching God Mode on is the reason it happened. When you turn it off it should show you your past 80 runs' stats.

Hi Tech Support! I was originally able to use the cross save between switch and Windows Steam. Originally it worked but something happened and now the switch save file will not upload to Steam. I've tried deleting all of the saved game files for hades, checked anti-virus software/firewall, changed profile file, and nothing has worked.

When I sync on the switch it says it uploads but nothing shows up on steam. When I clear all the save files then try to start the game, I first get an option to either download or upload the most recent cloud save file but when I choose download it gives me an error about being unable to read it.

Is there a way to grab the save file that my Switch has upload to the cloud and manually put it in the correct folder on my PC?

Other information: I actually have two separate save files of the same game. The one in save slot 1 is an older version of the save in slot 2. When I tried to delete the save from slot 1, it shows it being deleted but when I boot the game up, the save file is there again.

Hey, question. Is there any permanent solution to the freezing issue on Mac? After following the instructions in the tech fix channel and testing out in game, it doesn’t permanently freeze anymore, but still freezes quite frequently. I don't think this is much related to tech support as much as a general suggestion, but why is the Infernal Weapons tab the only stat that gets tracked separately when you have god mode on or off? The rest of boons, hammer upgrades, aspects and trinkets all are tracked as one, but my infernal weapons got "reset" when I turned god mode on, and I assume will go back to normal once I do one more run with god mode off

Not sure if a bug or intended: When using the Duo Parting Shot (Athena/Aphrodite), the backstab damage doesn't seem to apply when the Cast is delivered to an enemy's back via Hera's Bow. Works normally if the arrow lands just ahead of an enemy, and releases the casts, but NOT when the arrow (and the casts inside) strike the enemy in the back directly.

im having an issue with the game where everytime after i pick up a reward, the screen will slowdown/freeze for about 10+ seconds
i can hear the audio of my character still moving/attack if i input, but screen wise it's frozen
have already done all the troubleshooting steps in tech-fixes

• fullscreen/vsync toggles
• vulkan exe
  -launch options
• overlays
• performance priority/tweaking gpu settings
• reinstalling

am stumped, not sure what to do about this, game was running fine for me a few months back, booted it recently to play again and had this issue

There's a decent number of them, could you list out the ones you've used? I might have one or two others to try. And have you double-checked that your specs meet the minimum?

Is the "quit" option supposed to become unavailable in seemingly random conditions (after clearing a treasure trove, after buying a boon from Charon, etc) or is that a bug?

quit is avalaible at the start at the room, and to prevent savescam it's often not available at the end of the room (i guess it's if you loose HP during the room, pick a boon or other similar choices, fish... buying from Charon should clearly count too).

There are ways to savescam no matter if the game allows you to save or not

It only really makes it harder to stop playing when you no longer have the time to continue

Or in some cases forces you to waste your time and abandon a run altogether (when you're in a chamber right before a boss, for example)

Something on my PC changed, and I can no longer get my mouse to lock into Hades, just spent a few hours trying everything on Google. I have 3 monitors and my mouse will go off only on the right side of the screen, it is locked on the left side

Not sure if this goes here but as an fyi I went to play in borderless window mode yesterday and it made the game unable to be viewed. Audio still came through tho. Had to use steam boot commands to get the game working again - dunno if this has happened to anyone else 🤔

Not sure if this goes here but I just connected cross save for steam to transfer my save from switch to PC. when I did this the save file from my PC over wrote the save file on my switch. Is there a way I could undo this??

Unfortunately there is not a way to recover saves from the Switch, because the files are inaccessible. However, the devs have put together some pre-made saves for people who have lost save progress, and I can help you get set up with that

The game autosaves the moment you clear a room, but before you've looked at any of the rewards or future oaths. After looking at the room reward, you can no longer quit. It also autosaves the moment you enter a room, which you could do for a boss fight.

game wont launch. followed all steps in #h1-tech-fixes and im still getting a black screen. a restart of my computer makes the game launch, then it crashes ~15 minutes in and wont launch again, also crashed in test branch if that matters

Hello, my pc crashed this morning while I was playing, and it appears to have corrupted my save file for my profile 1. I have tried the steps provided (tried each of my old saves including the ones with the ".bak" in the file names), but the issue persists. One interesting thing I have noticed is that every time I try a new save file, I go back to the folder with the save files and I see two files named "Profile1_Temp.sav" and "Profile1.v.sav" with the same timestamp as the originally corrupted file. I have tried deleting these, but they somehow keep getting restored (with the same timestamp as before). Any idea what could be going on here?

Nevermind, I decided to try doing it while the game was still running, and it worked!

Hello. Apologies for butting in on any existing conversations...

I'm having a really hard time with unlocking an achievement on steam for the fully upgraded keepsakes, and I have accomplished the rank of 3 with each of them but no unlock. 😦 I even tried resetting the game, verifying files, reinstalling, starting it on a new computer and even thought of trying to replay the game again to get to that point to try and nothing. Is there anything I can do?

It is the ONLY achievement I have NOT unlocked and I was really sad it didn't unlock as soon as I had finished leveling up. I even got to the surface beat hades with the last fully upgraded keepsake which was Poseidon and then got back to the beginning to see if i needed to do another run to unlock it, tried to equip a new one and nothing. They're all fully upgraded, and I'm just really disappointed.

Just to be sure - when trying to get this achievement you do launch the game via Steam, rather than having Steam closed and launching from .exe file? Because only that way you'll get the achievements. If that's not the case, I'd suggest sending a F10 report about that, as it seems bugged.

Just press F10 while in-game and a report window will pop out, where you can write the details of what happened. It'll send your save info to devs so they can investigate the case. You might need to Alt-Tab to get to that window, as it doesn't always open on top of the game's window.

Btw, have you tried the new tech beta on Steam? It's the most recent update with some tech fixes, but maybe there was a fix that could help with your issue as well. To try that beta right-click on Hades in Steam Library, select Properties, go to "betas" section and select the test branch option.

I'm having trouble bonding with Eurydice. ||After releasing Orpheus||, I keep finding her in Asphodel at the same rate as before, but now every single time ||Orpheus is there too (both when I talk to him back at the House before the run and also when he is not at House)||, so I don't have the option to give her ambrosia. It's been 13 straight times now that, if I find Eurydice in Asphodel, Zagreus says ||"They're both here"|| and the option to gift Eurydice is disabled. What can I do?

Unfortunately, that sounds like it's most likely poor RNG. If you're on PC/Mac, you could try verifying file integrity, just in case something got messed up?
