Regarding heat, it's a common misconception that you can farm Titan blood from the Furies by just adding one more heat and looping Tartarus. This doesn't work since unlocking new rewards for a weapon requires clearing final boss at the previous heat with that weapon.

Best call for early gaming might be Artemis or Aphro since you can just one shot the difficult phases of bosses. Zeus or Dionysus is considered the best for damage in general but you have to use it a chunk at a time rather than building it up.
