"That guy" won the Hermes Cup two times in a run. Duunk0 is one of the very best Hades players there is. When he says he hasn't "explored" an aspect "enough" yet, he's essentially saying he's only done hundreds of runs with it yet and not thousands.

so you can go for the others instead

But in DS you die without getting back to your souls and you love them forever.
In Hades you are progressing as long as you get some resources, while in DS progressing through an area may yield nothing but setbacks.
Also, magic in DS is designed to give a very powerful option to the player, effectively making the game easier. I always count a magic run in DS to basically be on "easy mode" because it's designed to be easier for the player.

Ds offers more options for builds, some easier and some harder, but basically everything works in Hades and is more rng based with boons whereas Ds is about getting better at a set, much harder, area

It's not really Supergiant's thing to do content updates or DLC, and I'm pretty sure they have outright stated that they're stepping back for a bit with updates being just bug fixes and localisation.
