Yeah so it has to be someone who wielded weapons
靑龍偃月刀 was possibly-mythical possibly-real, just like Excalibur
the spear of guan yu, that is
who? Nordic?
They were the iron gauntlets of thor
I want an Aspect of Skelly on all weapons
@jolly lodge gives you respawn ability, just like skelly (not that he didn't give you a keepsake for it anyway)... or... makes you say stuff like "what, you call that a punch?" when enemies hit you
oh, yeah thor is famous enough to be a 4th aspect i guess
They were one of three of Thor's most precious posessions
The other two being Mjolnir and Megingjord
the hammer and the belt
a belt? good grief his poor children
(I remember the hammer getting stolen and the belt getting stolen, did Thor manage to keep the gauntlet on him all time?)
belt was a symbol of power in many cultures
I mean the gauntlets were on his hands
Though it might get discounted because it's a god's posession and not a man's
is that why wrestlers have belts?
probably re: belt
like they win belts
and was there a real person basis behind Thor?
or belts in karate, as well, or in batman
We know realllllly little about the norse gods, so maybe
I'm not sure to be honest
beowulf was also pretty punch-y but it's celtic soo... bit to close to Arthur and England maybe
Most of our info comes from people that came after the norse
i believe there's supposed to be lines from zag when you get poisoned
punchy things?
Yeah
What's the most common take on punchy things for the past two thousand years
Gloves meant specifically to punch
That's what I was getting to
Aw, im sorry
That they could just as easily be the gloves of a famous pugilist
Aspect of Cassius.
Yeah, my take is either that, or some legendary monk
spartacus? Did he punch things?
no, spartacus is famous for being everyone in a given area
(Now I feel like playing as Cassia)
what about Henry VII, it makes sense because i want to punch him in the face
anyway
the one person I was going to name specifically was muhammad ali
or if that's far too recent
hes a good fighter but not a legend
I mean he's kind of a legend among boxers
hes not some war god or a general of myth
I never knew Henry VII was a fighter
excuse you, how is muhammad ali not a legend
He doesn't need to be a war god or general of myth.
Muhammad Ali was one of the greatest boxers of all time
He's arguably the most famous hand-to-hand fighter of the last century and change.
He doesn't need to be a war god or general of myth.
@brisk trail you mean, it's the weapon that should be legendary, right?
I agree with that guy. It should be a legend or a myth from ancient times, not someone modern
I mean the current ones are a great general and a legendary king
those are a bit more than a good boxer
good boxer
I was thinking about Gilgamesh but he came before the greeks aw
Gilgamesh wasn't a pugilist
Pretty sure he used a spear
he did wrestle but he also very much wielded a blade weapon
Then again our knowledge of mesopatamia is lacking
As it is with a lot of ancient civilizations
oh alright i thought he just used bare hands
Gilgamesh would work? Enkidu more tho
the poem had a "equip weapon" montage
for both Gilgamesh and Enkidu
and described the weight of each of those weapons
and Humbaba was cut down, not punched down
Hmmm
maybe someone from... Hebrew legends? thE BiBle even? The old testament?
Could be cabrakan or a meso-american deity
I think the glove will be an eastern martial artist probably
I was hoping if African legends have some?
I only know about Mwimbo and Anansi sorry
Mechanically cabrakan could be cool, with the fists causing mini earthquakes
WAIT HOLD ON
Arthur-England > Europe
Guan Yu-China > Asia
WE HAVE SIX WEAPONS LIKE THE CONTINENTS
pls
Yeah, that's what I was thinking
I KNEW THE GUN WAS GONNA BE AMERICAN.
Lol
just divide the Americas
Could be like, Billy the kid or some gunslinger
yo can't dot hat
6 inhabited ones
Antarctiva doesn't really have any myuths or legends
Or it's just one piece of america and the fists are Santa Claus aspect
Yet.
antarctica gun when
Artic Fist Zagreus
santa's sack when
ah, the famous penguin gunslinger of antarctica
Native americans maybe had someone with the bow
You go in without weapon
some scientist out there has to have shot an iceberg or something right
Fists of the North Star
Pochaontas actually existed but meh i don't know if she actually used a bow
Dang it, lol
You can already ora ora enemies with a dadalus upgrade on the fists i think
I wonder if they are gonna add a 7th weapon, I think axe is like the only thing not really covered atm
Nah they're not adding a 7th
How about the fishing rod
to our knowledge
You don't need the Daedelus upgrade, you can permastunlock enemies just occasionally dashing around them.
fishing rod as weapon best weapon
ELEMENTAL 👏 STAFF 👏
Fishing rod as weapoj when
Is concentrated fire any good?
If they did add a seventh weapon I'd want them to add a chariot
on rail?
I dunno how they'd do it
it's okay
But it's what I'd want
@flat vapor Yep
I got the cluster bomb and rocket
upgrades also
Idk which one to chose
Axe would be good. I do actually think staff could be cool...
it's the base damage that gets boosted, so it stacks well with attack boons
rocket has like the second highest base damage in the game
Is after party any good?
its stupid strong with a good boon
but it's not overly amazing
@crude trail So I should try a special run?
After party the game?
3rd highest, I think.
The power thingy I mean, It restores health to a certain point after a fight
I rarely use it since I can often buy health
I see
after party is good, but becomes terrible if you have lasting consequences
@karmic laurel its pretty good can get some mad damage with it
After Party? Pretty mediocre at Common, decent at Rare, and very strong at Epic.
jesus the great hall decorations get really expensive really fast
yep, but they are so pretty...
I need so many more runs to afford that 5000 gems or so total of crap lmao
do it, so the hall may become as decadent as any god's
time to bump these 32 hours of gameplay to 100 then I guess
#giveusgemschaosboons
poseidon has a boon that increases future room gem rewards I think?
so with the poseidon keepsake the grind is slightly easier
Yeah, that one that increases all the collectibles you get
Ocean's Bounty increases Obol, Darkness, and Gem drops by 50-60%, depending on rarity.
Maybe 65 if Eurydice/Demeter hate you.
I didn't know Gem rooms dropped two gemstones.
I so wish that you could trade for gems with the broker
There's also those work orders which make infernal troves give more drops.
I'm sitting on 5000 gems because I get so many without even trying to farm them.
I feel like a man dying of thirst watching another man drowning
Pffft, okay, Krillin.
I traded a diamond for a several hundreds gemstones with the broker once
I guess I've just gotten unlucky in not seeing them
The most gems I've seen up for purchase at one point was like, 60
They're usually the timed ones
you also have the regular trade key for gems ones, but usually it's the other way around? and only a handful at time
Gems for keys.
There is no regular Broker option to trade for gems, only trade them away.
wish i could buy gems with my leftover obols in styx
also
is there any use for keys after getting the mirror fully completed
and getting all the weapons
as far as I can see their only use now is resetting the mirror and occasional trades
just the 1 key cost for resetting the mirror
https://twitter.com/PatMSeymourVA/status/1259833571415666688 this is pretty hades related I think
I see Dionysus has egged us on to lie to Orpheus again
y'know I hope the gods don't all turn out to be jerks
It seems like most of them genuinely want you to get free and join them even if that's not entirely why you're trying to get out
I mean it would, but I like them
mostly in retaliation to x god sticking it in y but still
There's no character in Hades that I think is evil
Even Hades objectionable as he may be isn't exactly a bad guy
He's just the villain due to the circumstances of the story
what about furies aka ||murdeeeeeeer||
Nah the furies ain't evil either
Which one was it that's MURDERER, was that tisiphone
yeah tisiphone is the crazy one and alecto is the sadist
considering they spend most of their waking hours around the worst humanity has to offer, i can understand them
the furies were made to punish evils, they arent themselves evil
exactly
And if they were dispatched to fight you, obviously they would see you in the exact same light
yes
makes sense!
Wielded by Arjuna in the epic Mahabhrata
(was not a fan of Arjuna)
i could only think about robin hood but it' also english so that's definetly more plausible
Indian myth is always super chuuni is the only thing
Robin hood aspect?
That might be a small hurdle to get over
yeah, i've also mentioned gandiva a couple times
imo it would be a perfect fit for the fourth aspect
eh, robin hood won't let you do as much stupid stuff as arjuna
super chuuni is the most accurate description
Arjuna did some really weird stuff
so many stupid weird and flat-out cheating stuff
You know how in every anime ever with magic
Or rather any fighting anime in general
The protagonist is getting curbstomped and pulls out some hithertonow unknown trump card to win
Skipping the curbstomp bit, that's all of Indian mythos
yeah, the Mahabharata is pretty anime
at the last minute, someone is going to reveal themselves to be incarnation of a god or something
that's why an arjuna aspect would be so fun
imagine all the stupid stuff ssg could potentially do with it
@jolly lodge so basically 50% of the journey to the west
you just killed a very valiant and good man? don't worry, let's justify by saying that in his previous life he was too greedy
at least journey to the west didn't do that kind of justification
but you do have like, you can't kill this villainess of the day because she's the adopted daughter of this deity
(and how is asking for an invincible armour even too greedy, nobody wants to be killed)
I agree with Arjuna though, I just didn't like him as a person
I'd love a Genghis Khan bow more than an Arjuna bow
the Arjuna aspect can probably be flashier than Genghis Khan since beside having a blue wolf fursona I can't see anything interesting with Genghis
I mean
it's funny to see these kind of things coming from ancient stories and legends, topics usually treated with so much respect (as it should be but seriously indians? An armor?)
genghis kan fursona
I am no longer supporting this idea
No no fursona
well his title was the Azur/Blue/Gray Wolf
Yeah and Guan Yu is known by some people as Lord of the Magnificent Beard
he had so much fun with his women at least half of humanity is related to him iirc (checked and wrong, it's 1 of 200)
his horse archers allegedly used battle strategies acquired from wolves
Yet his weapon has nothing to do with beards
Also the journey to the west had weird cop-outs too sometimes
nah, this demon wasn’t a demon at all he was just a spirit put there to test you
nah that wasn’t an innocent kid that was a demon
Hilariously enough there’s still instances of Wukong killing normal people either way
I thought Genghis Khan aspect could have a special related to wolves
it's the whole hit and run thing, I guess
and the circling enemies, baiting them, etc.
I figure the way you would do it is that you have a "punish" bonus
As well as gaining more damage through moving
Can fire the bow while you’re moving and bow deals less damage when you’re not movint?
Damage you build up for your next attack
being able to fire while moving would be really good
I figure the special would give you like a mini poseidon call
for like a quarter of a second you're invincible and move quicker
Why not special calls a phantom horse you can ride for a determined amount of time?
Further weapon levels increase the time the horse stays around
Yeah
even if not with gengis khan they can add a poseidon boon like that
That's what I was going for, phantom horse
I just didn't want to say it
'cause people might think it silly
my initial idea for the special was turning into a blue wolf leading a band of wolves
so phantom horse is better
Now Zagreus just has to find an iced river in the middle of the ocean and then he can show himself
ah get it?
too soon?
i liked frozen 2 and i love bad puns and dad jokes sorry
Genghis Khan was also like
way ahead of his time in a lot of ways
I mean sure he was the biggest conqueror in history, but he also implemented a lot of things in his time
But now what about phantom animal themed boons for every god? An eagle for Zeus, an owl for Athena, a dove for Aphrodite...
I mean... eh? The only gods who should really dabble in animal themeing are the ones who have explicit dominion over them
Poseidon and horses, for example
is he actually the god of horses?
yes because horses sweat sea scum
Horses were very important to the greeks
this is how horses sweat
and the only other place they see foams like this is the sea
so they believed that horses were made of the sea
Hence why they gave them to poseidon
bloody hell i felt an horse sweating but not like that welp thANKS i guess the more you know
At any rate, I think keeping to the general themes the gods have right now is best
(what, no mandatory equitation days when you were young?)
we don't have as much contact with horses nowadays so
We shoved them into our car engines
...hey cars run on liquid fuel right?
That's why they measure them on horse power
i made equitation when i was young as sport (didn't last long, i have a big history of trying different sports)
aye, poseidon's animals were horses and bulls
that's why asterius is half bull
it's a very long story involving poseidon being petty about minos being a smartass
both sentences are the same thing though
And pasiphae being a furry
but yeah
it was divine punishment
i mean
symbo's about 50% right about it
yeah i know she wasn't genuinly into bulls and it was posy's doing but-
right, genghis khan
but yeah, poseidon was associated with horses amongst other physically imposing animals
that's why he's got a couple horse-related sentences thrown into the game
I think it'd make sense for Poseidon to have more than a few things to say about the aspect of genghis khan
actually having the aspect of genghis khan would be something that intrigues poseidon and artemis both
since artemis would be like
"archery! on horses! why didn't I think of that?!"
uh i thought horses were to him like owls are to athena (she's not the goddess of owls)
But probably it's the same thing anyway, i'm just gonna say horses are his most important sacred animal
owls are not made of athena's domain
they are related because owls were believed to be wise, and athena was the goddess of wisdom
meanwhile, horses and bulls could be literally made of sea in stories
our Asterius's dad emerged from sea waves and foams
kinda sad we don't get to see more animal symbology in the game
like zeus and eagles for example
i want owls they're my favourite animal
We get athena owls and than butterflies, but only as keepsakes :c
artemis technically has deer (not ours though)
I want a butterfly sitting on Zag and Zag knowing Than's close
@jolly lodge and the BIRBS
Quails?
they looked like the kind of quails common to sportive hunt
i didn't notice them immediatly and my heart melted when i saw them theY'RE JUST,, there, chilling with their mama
artemis is still best girl
it's absolutely them, they absolutely did this on purpose
ares gets dogs and vultures
truly a sign that he's a good guy
also i thought the quails were part of the bow the first time i saw them
the one on the left looks like a frog
when I first played this game I probably noticed the birds before I noticed artemis
but do they just stay there on the bow or when she uses it they just fly around- AAAH
@patent topaz she fires them at people with the bow
w
what
they are probably her breakfast, lunch and dinner
really wish my brain wouldn't immediately process artemis' hair as a big hat every time i see her 😔
(and didn't ares have crows and ravens? in imageries, I mean)
it's a big hat made of green bear fur
green bear...
its hair extensions made of her own hair
flashback of tumblr discourse about furries should be wary of getting shot by hunters
and the retort that what? a hunter is going to mistake a neon green wolf fursuit-wearing person as what, exactly?
as a mistake
@jolly lodge i have been doing a lot of digging into ares as of late and i have not seen corvids associated with him, not sure where you've seen that
to go back to the hair subject, Artemis is often portrayed as having short hair but wearing a hat or wig
ok brb for the ares thing
hm, I didn't know that the animal sacred to Ares was the serpent
that's the most not-warful animal I can imagine
ares wasnt just a god of war. and in fact he wasnt the only god of war, either
Ares could be described better as a god of carnage
"II. SERPENT (Greek drakon)
The poisonous serpent was sacred to Ares. In ancient art he was often shown holding a serpent, or with a serpent-device on his shield.
For MYTHS of Ares and the serpent see:
(1) Ares Wrath: Cadmus (Drakon of Thebes)
(2) Ares Favour: Aeetes (Drakon of Kolkhis)"
which is something war definitely encompasses
ares had a lot of aspects to him but they're often overlooked for the 'violent arrogant brute' portrayal he often gets in media
ares was mostly a god of war though
he probably gained some more complex aspects when fused with mars
athena was also a war god. ares was more seen to personify the negative aspects of war
which is why his sons deimos and phobos often accompanied him
athena was war god over the strategy part, it was the skills of managing a battlefield
ares was the desire to destroy in a war, the lust for it
you're literally reiterating what i just said, in different words lmao
I didn't see you mention strategy
its a given that strategy is part of war, thats why armies have strategists, why do i need to point that out specifically
it isn't a given though
I mean
Part of what made Rome and Greece so successful in war is they way they conducted themselves and the formations and battle tactics they employed
Which were ahead of their time
I would post battle formations but
I finally escaped?
no pictures in this channel
it's vital for winning a war
So it's something vital to winning
Escapedish?
But it's not innate to it
exactly how does it make sense for something to be vital to win yet not part of it at all
Like, the bowling ball is needed to win at bowling
but the ball isn't innate to bowling
no, you need bowling ball to play bowling
but you only need manpower and weapons to fight a war
I beat perseus and the minotaur without taking damage came to hades with full health and stacked lives. And end the fight with my buttcheeks clecnhed at 20 health
it's like how there's distinction between sun personification god (helios) and sunlight god (apollo)
ares embodies war, athena is the extra part that makes it its function
Athena is also the goddess of knowledge
Most gods had multiple versions of themselves
Each citystate worshipping their own version
that's what I'm trying to explain, yes
Each temple worshipping a different aspect of a god
but like, from the other side, that each concept also has aspects, like the gods that reflect them
like the war form of aphrodite
I probably did misremember the birds of ares though, the birds of ares were not actually confirmed to be corvids, just birds with swarming behaviours and shot feathers of metal
Vultures would be apt though
from the vases, they seemed to be geese...
vulture is correct, and there's... woodpecker?
why is woodpecker associated with ares
(it's because of mars, again, apparently)
mm
marsres
or, aremars?
at any rate, there's a lot of weird blending of myth with polytheistic gods
or in the case of others, outright one-upsmanship
see: india
even the abrahamic religions do it
in general, retellings are not a bad thing at all, since it keeps the stories alive
and it's interesting how Mars wasn't the negative aspects of war
what counts as spoilers in here?
what spoils the content of the game
bruh
Then that is literally anything in the game
Considering everything in the game is technically content
I think the identity of the final boss is spoiler
Although we all can guess who that is
late game content, certain characters i guess, enemies, bosses, hidden lore
there's the other channel for that
I don't want to venture into there and see everything instantly
yeah if youre uncertain, just go to spoilers channel or use || <-- these things
Spear is pretty fun
Yeah, the identity of the (current?) final boss is very obvious in hindsight
good for you, I'm really bad with spear
obv
you can probably spell out content that was mentioned in announcements
so the minotaur, theseus and all are good here
as well as weapons having multiple aspects
use it well, flood out the battle field
poseidon goes rather well with ranged weapons
Calls are basically charged supermoves
Oh that’s chaos
it sure does, you gonna go for it?
Going with their shenanigans is usually a good trade-off
heck yeah adventure
Atta boy!
hehe
yeah
meet my waifu (?)
i'm gonna draw them one of these days
Welcome to the abode of best uh
thing? chaos
Their boons can either save your day or completely screw your runs over depending on how close you are to the boss
oh true that
It’s usually the former but i’ve seen the latter happen to people a couple times
if you are in the first biome you're probably good whichever one you pick
But yeah 9/10 times going for chaos gates is usually a good call
lmao
i remember one time taking a trade off for less hp, was not aware of how much hp i had exactly and got tossed into a fight with 4 pts : , )
welcome to the wonderful world of chaos boons
always be very careful on what you pick
Lest you loose a death defiance- actually do you even have those?
If this was your first time meeting chaos you’re probably pretty early into the game
'careful' is rarely a word that easily finds its niche in my dictionaries
Chaos Boon is basically Deal with the Devil
Hahaha
nah, it aint dont worry
dont worry about it
mm, on that note i still have no idea how SD works...
Is the snake good to talk about here
Yeah, most things excluding the final boss are fine
The snake was kinda meh
Like
I was fighting it
And I was thinking
"Where is the gimmick"
Then I damaged it some more
i remember when it used to be more hardcore
Yeah, the hydra is easy
I usually don’t loose DDs until elysium or further
Actually have you met elysium’s boss?
for me its the butterflies, can barely see them
His charge gets me every time
I remember getting stuck on the bull and the dull for a couple escape attempts
It’ll be fine once everything clicks
but also because ive a terrible habit of standing around like a fool
Until I learn to juke him through a pillar
Also you can dash into his charge attack to avoid it
Bull rushes also have the same effect
It’s like bullfighting except not really
You can dash into that?
Oh that
Just dash him into a pillar
yes
Ugh chaos sucks
Also yes
Like
That’s why i told you to pick em carefully
What was the drawback?
F
Worst case scenario you can crutch on Cerberus’ keepsake for the extra hp
Question
rip
If you hit B for boon information on MKB
You can select or deselect certain boons
Afaik it doesn't change anything
Why is it there?
Yeah, cerberus’ keepsake raises your hp, it’s a pretty popular starting keepsake for begginers until you get the mirror upgrade that gives more hp
Yeah that one’s a good choice for tartarus
Hypnos methink
hypnos
He is the sleepy guy you see first in the house.
Yeah, Hypnos will just give you sass for dying at whichever you die to
no one really hates him lol, Zags just too charismatic
I mean most people in the house seem to like Zag
@broken vault Hades and Theseus
Oh boy
I'm not sure if Theseus actually hates Zag, he was probably just putting on a show
Water boy
call isn't used as often as more damage, so I'd pick the first one
Cant spell it
poseidon
The attack or the call?
ok fair points, but with Hades it’s mostly dad(tm) disappointment. Bit different from true hate. and Theseus just has a big mouth and sees Zag as a stepping stone.
So its more damage on my attack or more damage on my call
Whose boon did you slap on your attack
Also poseidon?
Huh
Much water
Hmmm
Also
Attack?
Yeah i think attack is a good choice here
Hang out with yo bud Chaos or skip them for better door rewards. Either way, mostly depends on what you want the run to be
They’re early runs so it’s Meg
shhh
You can do it if you don’t get careless
fingers crossed
Not as nuts as things can get but still p good
for early game this is pretty good I believe?
No, they just got poseidon damage iirc
With water on it
Poseidon gives spicy numbers either way
Oh yeah
There was a run where i was running Crit Bow with Explosive Arrows and Twin Arrows
Oh, that makes sense
That's absolutely nutty.
If you get lucky you can get your DD back from Athena
Haha bow go EXPLOSIONSSSS
Or the shop if you get lucky and find a Styx’s Kiss there
Worst case scenario there’s the doomer in elysium but he’s not a guaranteed encounter
DO IT YOU COWARD
GOING IN
Yeehaw
Oof
f
Yeah that’s not a bad choice
nice
I believe in you just don’t stand in lava
f
The best one I had was a Bow run with Twin Shot and Deadly Strike
Orpheus this is so sad, play Farewell
I have still not managed to clear a single escape with the bow, i suck at it
sip sip. Fresh water
Actually speaking of, has anyone else ever assumed Zag just drinks the fountain water instead of logically just taking a dip in it to heal his wounds or is it just me thinking it’s funny and well the water disappears afterwards sooooo
I just assumed he took a drink
Zag, the hydration icon. Will chug a fountains worth of water in one go
stay hydrated
this message brought to you by poseidon
poseidon: drink water or he'll drown your family
He just sucks it in like the guy that sips a whole bottle of water at once
note: do not try at home, stunt preformed by professional god
Hello hello! Started the game recently and got a bit absorbed in it. So far it's enjoyable
the gems we paid wasn’t to build the fountains, it was just to refill the fountains with water
oh hi!
the real gems were the friends we made along the way
Hydra with explosive arrow
That was way harder than it needed to be
Also yes game is good
Managed to finish a few runs so far, still a couple weapons to clear the game with
so who can i give ambrosia to?
Yee, I'm pretty used to rogue-lites by now, and it did take some hours
data mining not to be discussed in this server
no worries!
God I hate the minotaur's axe jump
I had no problem with that boss when I first started but now I can't pass it for the life of me
perhaps you could go ask about in the modding server? there's a link in #self-promotion
I'll try that! thanks very much
also diddle, try dashing forward through him when he's about to jump at the end of his combo :)
oh no, I can handle the combo and anything in the first phase
but it's that lone axe jump in the second one with the 3 wave things that I'm getting rekt on
it's so fast I never react
ahhh, i gotcha. Hmm, are you playing regular Aesterius and Theseus or their heated versions?
Heated, on hell mode
Spicy
okay just making sure. Since they're dumbfire projectiles, I just try to put as much distance between myself and Aesterius whenever he jumps. I dash through him so he jumps over me, then keep dashing forward to create more distance
sometimes its not always possible and you gotta take some damage so you don't get hit by a theseus bomb, but whaddya gonna do
or just run Athena dash every run :]]]]
if you time it right you should still get in some hits to punish the attack
The funny part is that I always kill thesius, and then die going for minotaur lol
oh really? I always kill Aesterius first
I think most of the time is just Thesius has so much less health so he just ends up dying faster lol
I don't know if i really focus one or the other
I get you. I've always killed Aesterius first because outside of a few attacks, Theseus just kind of keeps to the outer ring, and you treat him more like a hazard since his AI doesn't actively follow you.
Cause really, once the bull is dead, Theseus is cake
as he should be might i add
I'll just try hard focusing the cow next time, see how it goes. thanks!
move like a bee! sting like uh.... bee.
move like tisiphone and sting like megaera
is it just me who thinks tisiphone is the easiest one
even with drastic measures on
Don't forget to thank your shade every time you beat Thesius and the bull
Tis is pretty easy. Her moves are slow and she only really gets annoying in the last chamber (more so if Alecto is throwing blades around)
Supportive shade is the sweetest. I wanna give them nectar or blow them a kiss or something to make them swoon
It's truly addictive
Already consistently getting to Final boss, but he's is too tough
(should call him final boss here, or talk about it in spoiler chat)
delete this
I only find fighting Tis annoying when I'm using a long range weapon and I don't have the proper boons equipped
tisiphone is the murder murder one?
yeah
she's the easiest of the three imo
She closes that stage but she is easy to avoid
Hi,I'm just wondering when is the next update coming ?
yeah, but from what's been said it will not be focused on new content
there will be some, but not a lot
Gotcha
They are gonna add another wep aspect and some buffs/nerfs
man i WISH i could say tis is the easiest of the three. For me it’s meg
And for me I find that I kill Alecto the fastest XD
I still get caught by meg's dashes way too often
U could always fight all 3 of them at once with the pact
i could. If i had any heat at all
U are at 0 heat?
yeah I'm still new to the game
Ya. Icecream
only got 16 hours
Ohh I see
Alecto is the easiest for me. I don’t like figuring out which dash move Tisiphone is using and Megaera can be a slog if your build is lacking when you meet her. At least her banter with Zag is good haha
My favourite thing about fighting Alecto is how much damage she does to herself by walking over traps. Girl is a klutz
Howdy, just checking again. Hades is currently only sold on epic and steam stores, right?
Right.
Danke. Tis a shame.
additional platforms to be considered after the game hits 1.0
my favorite weapons probably the spear
i was thinking of getting the shield
Everything gets hit
Shield special is you throw it and it bounces from enemies
And if you get lightning that also hits multiple enemies
Hmmm
Shield also blocks projectile and incoming attacks.
👀
Nah
Rinse and repeat
next run i'll probably get the shield then after i get another key
Aspect of Chaos
I like bull rush cause I can just dash by the Minotaur when he’s charging lol
Get ranks in it and you can have a dozen shields flying around
The real dream
my current run I have 3 expanded blade rift casts that seek out enemies, move 60% faster, and return to me when they drop
it is opop
I completely ANNIHILATED Theseus. Man it feels good
it's starting to get personal
with the stygian blade & drinking health attack
i hadn't lost 1 HP at the end
The gloating just slowly digs in yeab
lmao yea
Make it worse when you come back and Hypnos is like
Did you get the autograph
Bro
"oh you got wrecked by Theseus ? How could you not"
"he's so dreamy and incredible"
"BEWARE FOE ! I will crush you with my bare hands " etc I must say he's an ideal opponent, you do really want to send him to Tartarus
i just had to take a break from my game and come mock Theseus here
The Minotaur is quite honorable though
yea, also he's easy, isn't he ?
I think thesius is easier than the minotaur tbh
I fought both at the same time hitting both and Idk what happened, maybe I beat them both at the same time but once Theseus was done for Minotaur had left too
The Minotaur attack is more telegraphic imo
they had pretty much the same low health but I felt like Theseus was the main piece
Easier to dodge
Imagine being stuck in the afterlife having to praise Theseus
2nd phase mino is just so unpredictable and fast
it's like my 20th run and it's the first time i have this Elysium run ||where Minotaur comes a few chambers before and defies you to a single duel to see if you're worthy to fight Theseus and him reunited (cause I lost to them last time)||
Ok fair. I always kill Mino first
me too so far, unless now is different maybe
oh I love the 1v1 duel
It didn't tell me I had beaten Minotaur
Also
just cause he comes already injured to the 2v1
oh
oh wait did that just happen for you
lmao
Hmm this server has a language filter?
Like I would go into the 1v1 room all the time and just get destroyed
i really like all the biomes tbh except maybe Phlegeton cause I always get burned
Asterius used to brick my runs
definitely a better region than the magma one lol
Asphodel is a pain
gotta admit the Greeks had that very interesting thing that the afterlife had a precise map
I think there was one more thing though, there was another river, Cocytus
I mean, don't most myths have layers to their afterlife?
Sure, but this is true geography lol
Asphodel is also my bane
Since the lava ruins my butterfly stacks
It's 1 damage
Come on...
I mean the Greeks imagined Cocytus and Phlegeton forming the Styx, different levels, etc, it's really imaginative, i don't remember egyptian myths being that "geographical" for instance even if the deads also do travel a lot in their mythology
Also I love Sisyphus in the game
the ancient greeks did put a coin in the dead's mouth to pay Charon for passage
oh yea he's nice !
There is a "one must imagine Sisyphus happy' vibe in there
there are a plenty lot of cultures that go in depth too!
when you say asphodel i have trouble remembering it's magma land lol it sounds nicer
Lava land is annoying
Not tough, just annoying
Lava and the power couple
Hate them
sure, plenty of fascinating myths, but I like how the Greek ones were such a nice base for a roguelike with all their dungeons planned lmao
I guess what's missing is the full Hades tribunal with the 3 judges and the river of Cocytus
Because most media are sadly fixiated on eurocentric stuff, and greek is the easiest and most acceisble of them all so...
not sayin that greek myth doesn't give way to great rouglikes!
but y'know
it's true man
It's this way because everyone knows about the greeks
At least Eastern European folk lore is getting some love recently
Not to jerk the Witcher 3 best game xD too much
i'm not saying other myths are not interesting, on the contrary, but you cannot say every religion or mythology had a very geographically detailed afterlife
But at least something other than Greek or Nordic can now get the spotlight
yeah, but greek is definately not the only one, and I feel like the greeks have been in the spotlight for so long, lmao
maybe, maybe, yea. I don't feel this way a lot at the moment cause my years studying greek are 10 ten years past lol, and also i only hear about vikings and slavic tales these days
or african sometimes
Asphodel is fun. Only Asphodel room I don't like is one that's empty except for two silent Burn-Flingers/Inferno Bombers when you enter, and you have to run around the entire room looking for them. Precious seconds wasted.
sometimes i wish we got more egypt in all this
the vision we have of egypt is maybe a little too caricatural
but then again, there's so much we don't know, whereas we know a loooot about the Greeks
i mean... have you looked into egyptian myth?
How do you know that we don't know much 👀
Fighting you would probably not end well for you. These Twin Fists don't take prisoners.
because ancient egypt has been going for like 3000 4000 years
and there's an incredible amount of things we don't know
Aliens.
Cleopatra was closer to dinosaurs than the modern day
The answer is aliens.
Let that sink in
that's the pyramids isn't it? cleopatra is closer to modern day than she is to the pyramids
the Greeks are well documented, we kept bazillions of information, but when you read authors studying Egypt you realize we somewhat lack texts
Nah aliens didn't deal with the Egyptians
Aliens aided the crusaders and King arthur
Have you not seen the new Transformer documentary?
same with lots of culture tbh. For example the Aztecs and Mayas, plenty of codex containing crucial informations burned and we lost plenty of history and myths, probably
They did. Watch Stargate. Noob.
Documentation isn't really the only way to learn about their myths-- there's very much the people in the culture
I guess the Greeks are important bc we kept plenty of information and bc in a way the Western world sees Ancient Greece as "our" heritage, obviously its not exactly the case for, say, Mayas, or Egypt
yea sorry i guess we're into off topic
That's not what I'm talking about, and you know it
There's a lot of stuff passed down via oral tradition
nah, but, for instance, take AC Origins, they announced a game about Ancient Egypt and turns out it's the very end of Ancient Egypt, the period we know the most details about - through the Roman and Greek eyes
yeah why is that i wonder
guys please this has nothing to do with hades
yea soz
